Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB

Pitcher's won't know what hit 'em when you step to the plate with this midnight black CAT8 BBCOR Bat! Be the talk of the town and make sure to get your own CAT8 today with fast, free shipping.

Bat Benefits:

One of the main differences from the CAT 7 is the new and improved AZ105 Alloy, the strongest aluminum on the Marucci bat line, allows for thinner barrel walls, a higher response rate, and better durability. Its 2 5/8-inch barrel provides an expanded sweet spot for more base hits. The 2nd Generation AV2 Anti-Vibration Knob features a harmonic dampening system for better feel and less negative vibrational feedback. The barrel is also precision-balanced for a lower M.O.I, resulting in a lighter feel as you swing and giving you better precision and control. Its one-piece alloy construction provides a clean, consistent swing, and the tapered handle with its soft-touch grip is topped with an ergonomic knob shape for more top-hand control and comfort while you're at the plate.

Warranty:

Marucci is backing this monster of a bat with a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty. Marucci: Honor The Game!

Cameron
Just curious if there is any difference between the Marucci Cat 8 Black and White? Jeff
This Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC8CB) and the original Cat 8 are the same item, just with different paint. This black bat was made to be in line for collegiate baseball rules that will not permit predominantly white bats to be used.
Ben
Does it dent easily? Kudter Stucki
The Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB has not shown issues with regards to denting. This should be a very durable bat.
Cameron

The Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB is only featured in a balanced model.
Cameron
Is the white CAT 8 the same exact bat material as the new 2020 black CAT 8? Colbstereeno
Yes, the Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB is the same bat as the white barrel CAT 8. Marucci released the new colorway as the NCAA will not allow a white BBCOR bat this season.
Cameron
Marucci Cat 8 BBCOR MCBC8CB and/or Marucci Connect BBCOR. How thick is the bat handle? My son is 14 yrs old and prefers a skinny handle. Chubby Carson
The handle diameter would be slightly thinner on the Marucci Cat 8 Connect Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC8CB when compared to the Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB. With that being said, one can always re-grip a bat so a player has a handle thickness that suits them better.
Cameron
I bought my son the Cat 7 BBCOR, used for his transition between USSSA and BBCOR. He was super happy with his bat. He loves his balanced bats, not end-loaded. For his birthday I gave him the Cat 8 BBCOR Black, of the same size (31/28) and says that the difference is very felt, it looks like an end-loaded bat, is completely dissatisfied by that change of bat that I made. José Sanchez
The Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB features a balanced swing weight just like the previous CAT 7 BBCOR models. At this time, we have not heard anything regarding this bat not feeling as though it has a balanced swing weight.
Cameron

The Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB is BBCOR approved for high school play. It is not USSSA approved.

My son is on the smaller side and more of a contact hitter. What is the difference between the CAT 7 and CAT 8? Which would suit him better? Michelle
Structurally both bats are basically the same. They are both one-piece, alloy models with a balanced swing weight. The major differences are the updated alloy material that the Cat 8 is made of, plus some manufacturing improvements to help create a larger and more consistent sweet spot in the Cat 8.
Kyle
What are the best one piece bats? Harold
Based on customer feedback, the Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB would be one of the best one-piece BBCOR bats on the market.
Cameron
are the Cat 8 and posey the same bat? Calvin
Yes. The Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB and the Marucci Posey28 Pro Metal BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBP28S will be the same bat. The only difference will be the paint job.
Jack
Some listings / sites have "LE" in the description - As in "Marucci Cat 8 LE BBCOR Baseball Bat MCBC8CB" Other listings / sites do not. What does the LE mean and is there a difference? Chris Powell
Typically "LE" will mean Limited Edition, so I'm guessing other sites you have seen have this black model marked "LE" since it is not the traditional white color design. That would be the only plausible explanation, as this is the same model and structure as the Cat 8, just a different color than the white model.
Kyle
Is this black Cat 8 ever listed/called as an LE model? Limited Edition? Marcus
No, the Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB is not a limited edition model. This colorway was designed and released due to the college ban on white barrel bats.

The Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB is a balanced bat.

Cameron
What type of hitter is this bat for? Rakim
The Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB is not designed for one type of hitter. This is a great bat for both contact and power hitters alike.
Cameron
Difference between cat 8 and cat 8 connect besides composite and alloy David
The Cat 8 Connect will also be a two-piece instead of a one-piece, and the Connect will also be slightly end-loaded while the regular Cat 8 is a balanced swing weight.
Ryan
Is this legal for 12U travel ball and Jr High School ball for a 7th grader? Micah
Yes, the Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB would be legal for both.
Cameron

The removable taper on the Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB is found under the bat grip. The main advantage is that it allows for more top-hand control and comfort.
Frank
Are there any differences between this bat and the white MCBCB, other than color? I see that the white bat has some restrictions due to its color. Chris
There is no difference between the Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB and the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 minus the colorway. Due to the NCAA's new white barrel ban, the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8, and any other BBCOR bat with a predominantly white barrel, can no longer be used; high school has not adopted the same rule at this time.
Cameron
Is a 31 28oz a drop -8? I am looking for a drop 8 and I don’t know like what the ounce is. Cameron
No, the 31'' 28 oz Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB is a -3. The drop (-) is the difference in the length and the weight of the bat. A 31'' -8 would be 23 oz.
Tori
I'm looking for a Marucci CAT 8 Connect BBCOR drop 5. Keith Jordan
BBCOR bats will always be -3. You will not find the Marucci Cat 8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB in anything other than -3. The Marucci CAT 9 Connect -5 USSSA Baseball Bat: MSBCC95 would be the -5 option within the USSSA standard.
Cameron
My son has used the bat for 1 month and the grip is already coming off. Is this covered under the warranty? Steve
Unfortunately, the 12-month manufacturer warranty only covers performance defects. Such as crack, dents, or low performance.
Lauren
Is this bat a USSSA bat? David Chaffee
No this is a BBCOR bat which all BBCOR bats will be drop 3.
Ryan
Getting my son his first BBCOR bat and want a very light swinging bat. He's not a huge fan of composite and he's definitely on the small side and a contact hitter. He loves the cat line but have heard the Louisville solo is very light swinging also heard good things about ax. Is it true about the solo? Is it one of the lightest bats and how's the pop compare to the cat lineup. Thanks Jason Jason
The Louisville solo is a very balanced bat whereas the cat 9 is balanced as well but some say the cat 9 is slightly end loaded. Balanced bats are perfect for contact hitters like your son. Both are great options.
Logan
Is the bat light, for an 11 year old boy? Filip
The Marucci CAT8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB features a one-piece alloy design with a balanced swing weight. It would be a great bat to consider if an 11 year old is required to swing a BBCOR bat.
Cameron
How does it compare to the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3? Does one stand out over the other, especially for an average-sized 14 year old with some power potential? Paul B
The Marucci CAT8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB and the LS Omaha 519 BBCOR bat are both one-piece alloy bats with balanced swing weights. As well, both bats will feature anti-vibration technology to help reduce stinging of the hands on miss hits. With that being said, both bats are excellent options to consider for a 14 year old hitter!
Cameron
Is this a good bat for a freshman? I had a CAT 6 at one point. I’m 5'10” and can swing a heavier bat but prefer more bat speed. Rhett Sachtleben
The Marucci CAT8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB is a great bat to use as a FR. This model, like the CAT6, will feature a one-piece alloy design with a balanced swing weight.
Cameron
Is this a good bat for a 13 year old player new to BBCOR? heather

Ryan

No, this is a BBCOR bat. It is not USSSA approved.
Ryan
Is the bat balanced or end-loaded? Donnie
The Marucci CAT8 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8CB features a balanced swing weight.

Based on his height and weight, I would recommend going with the 31'' bat.
Ryan
