Description

The Marucci Bat Company™ takes pride in turning top quality wooden baseball bats in the same tradition and precise technique of the earliest bat companies. Every Marucci Bat™ is cut, calibrated, balanced, buffed and lacquered by hand. The Marucci Bat Company™ uses top grade Maple billets cut from selected, naturally grown trees in Pennsylvania forests. This selection process insures the highest possible grade of wood for each bat. The Marucci Bat Company™ bats are 100 percent handmade or turned in small batches from an original design, then finished and detailed by hand. Each model is made to exacting specifications maximizing balance and ease of handling. The Marucci Bat Company™ uses an Ultra Penetrating Stain that provides the best possible finish for your next Marucci Bat. Most impressive is the Bone Rubbing technique that The Marucci Bat Company™ uses. `Boning` bats began in the earliest days of baseball with players like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. These Hall-of-Famers would spend hours in their dugouts rubbing their bats with old cow femur bones. Bone Rubbing closes the wood`s pores, compressing it and making it harder. Marucci uses the same technique on their bats, rubbing before the finish is applied to seal and harden the wood. Just another example of how Marucci takes the same pride in their bats as our baseball heroes once did. Experience the excellence of a Marucci Bat today with the AP5BN Adult. Free Shipping! Pros: Have 4 bats. 2 for BP and 2 for Games. The price constitutes "Game Bat". To use in BP is dumb. Hits hard and has Solid pop, Looks great.

Cons: Priced a little high. Why is it $10 more than the same bat in black? Does it require additional boning or sumzing ;P

Pros: Great balance and lots of pop. Do not swing at inside pitches and the bat should last.

Cons: As far as I know, no Marucci maple sold "retail" qualifies as MLB approved. MLB requires an ink dot test for grain straightness and the label must be 90 degrees to the face wood grain of the bat. Retail Marucci maples have the label ON the face wood grain.

Marucci is awesome! larry horwitz player

Pros: excellent whip, sturdy wood. im a smaller guy (5'7", 190 lbs) not a huge power hitter. I swear this bat has more pop than most bbcors ive used. i just today hit one over the foul pole, which is 326' at our home field. And ive been jammed, totally thought it was gonna break, did no such thing. you guys need to look at which way the grain is going before you swing wood, and always try to square it up. Great bat! Great company!!

Cons: one day it will wear out, de laminate, or break.

Pros: This is my second AP5, I had the youth model when I was younger. Both have played very well. I have put over 1000's of swings in games/practice/cages. My youth only ever broke when a friend used it, I don't let anyone use my new one! Marucci bats are the best, reason why they are number 1 in the MLB!

You get what you pay for. Mike player

Pros: I think most people tend to blame their bat for their own shortcomings. Had a few ball get in on me and it didn't break. Great balance, great pop, great sound, almost an ash sound. If you can get one with back spin off the inside part of the sweet spot it is going to go a LONG way.

Cons: Slick finish. Playing in Texas (HOT and dry) it can be a challenge to find the right grip. Tried various things, what i've found words best is no tape and use the batting gloves with the glossy finish on the inside. If you go cheap on batting gloves, pine tar is a must and you will just end up replacing the batting gloves quicker. Price, the only thing keeping me from buying another right now is the price. But, you can bet when it breaks I'll likely replace it with another AP5.

Tom
How durable is the bat?
Jimmy
Durability on any wood bat can vary drastically. If you hit one ball off the handle or the end of the bat any wood bat can break. Or if you consistently make solid contact then a wood bat could last numerous years.
Tom
Does this bat have pop?

The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat has excellent pop.
Kara
I'm 14, 5'10" and 136 lbs. What length should I get? Is this bat legal for BBCOR and wood play?
basballb
The 32" Marucci: AP5NB would be the recommended size for you. This would BBCOR certified because it is an all wood bat.
Tom
I'm 14 and 5'10" 136 lbs. I'm deciding on either the Pujols bat or the Bautista bat. I'm leaning toward the Pujols bat because I hear it has a bigger barrel. Which bat should I get?
questioneir
Both the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat and the Jose Bautista Maple Wood Bat have 2 1/2 inch barrels. However, the Albert Pujols will have a slightly end loaded feel compared to the Jose Bautista model.
Kara
I'm 15. I'm 6' and 150 pounds. Which Marucci is right for me?
cdub
I would suggest the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat if you prefer an end loaded bat and I would suggest the Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Bat if you prefer a balanced bat.
Nick
I'm 15, 6'2" and 170 pounds. I'm not sure whether to go with the 33 or 34 inch could you give a suggestion?
glove kid
Based on your height and weight, a 33" Adult bat would be recommended.
Tyler
I'm 6'3" and 280 pounds. I hit for power and can go opposite field well, but tend to have a big of a longer swing. I swing a 33" now, but am wondering if a 34" would benefit me?
EricNotTJ
Based on your height and weight, a 33"-34" bat is recommended. A 34" bat would help getting to the outside pitch better and may help a little with power.
Nick
Can I get this bat without a cupped end?
CenterfieldCSD
Unfortunately the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat: AP5BN only comes in the cupped end model.
Sean
If the bat breaks, can I send it back and get a new one?
harv
Unfortunately Marucci does not offer any type of warranty with the bat. Most woods bat do not carry a warranty but if one does please see the feature for warranty information.
John
Is this model similar to the C271?
Bomber
The C271 is not going to be quite as good in quality as the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat .
Noah
What is the difference between the Marruci pro model wood bat, and a BBCOR wood bat?
EliGoff5
Only wood bats that contain composite or bamboo materials have to be BBCOR certified. Any ash or maple wood bats do not have to be tested and are legal in high school and college.
Kara
What's the smallest possible barrel diameter for an adult wood bat or an adult Marucci bat?
Tbomb
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat: AP5BN Adult will have a barrel diameter of 2 1/2". This barrel diameter will be smallest of any adult wood bat model. 2 5/8" will be the bigger barrel diameter size.
Brandon
If my 8th grade son, who plays travel ball, swings a 2013 drop 5 Voodoo what is the best wood bat for him to buy to start getting used to wood? Looking for something that is balanced like the Voodoo. Any help would be great. Not sure which of the few Marucci wood bats is most like the Voodoo.
Matt
The Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Bat: CU26B Adult will be one of the most balanced Marucci wood bats. The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat: AP5BN Adult is slightly end loaded.
Kara
Which Marucci has the most power or biggest barrel?
8-ball
The barrel diameter that is the biggest in the Marucci Maple wood Series would be the Marucci David Ortiz Ash Wood Bat: DO34 Adult and the Marucci Sean Casey Maple Wood Bat: SC21. The both have a 2 1/2" barrel.
Chad M.
I like bats that feel light, preferably a -3. What Marucci wood bat is good for me?

Marcus
Can you compare the Marucci AP5 to the Old Hickory MT27 Maple model? ( weight distribution, measurements, etc.)

the blue wahoo
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat: AP5BN Adult bat and AP5NB are only produced in the -3 length to weight ratio. Marucci makes a Youth model of AP5 (the AP5YB) which has an approximate -5 length to weight ratio and 2 1/4" barrel diameter.
Mac
Can you compare the Marucci AP5 to the SSK RC24 Maple model?

The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat: AP5BN Adult bat and the SSK Robinson Cano Maple Wood Bat: RC24 Natural/Black bat have comparable barrel diameters and handles. Here is a link for further comparison http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Aubrey
I'm 21, 5'8" and 135 pounds. Which length would you recommend 32 inch or a 33 inch?
Joey Batz
The 32" would be the best option for a player with your height and weight.
John
Is this bat better for a contact hitter or a power hitter?
shotgun
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat would be most ideal for a power hitter.
Justin R.
I am 14 years old, weigh 200 pounds, and am 5'5". I am looking for a bat that will allow me to have quick bat speed but also allow me to show off my power and contact hitting abilities. Looking for a bat with a lot of pop. (Doesn't necessarily have to be a Marucci).
Rodrigo
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat (AP5BN) is slightly end loaded and designed for a power hitter. The Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Bat (CU26B) is a more balanced bat and is best for a contact hitter.
Kara
My son is 5'7" and 108 lbs. What size do you recommend?
AG 5
Based on your sons height and weight, I would recommend a 32" in the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat (AP5BN).
Justin R.
I do have experience swinging wood bats and am looking for a wood bat that is good for power and durable. Will this bat be good for me?
Nick
Yes, the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat (AP5BN Adult) would be great for a contact and a power type of hitter. As with any wood bat this Maple could break at some point. The durability is very good though.
Brandon
Would the Marucci AP5 or the Marucci JB19 be more balanced and less end loaded?
joe
The Marucci Jose Bautista Maple Wood (JB19) would be the most balanced of the two. The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood (AP5BN) will have a slightly endloaded swing weight.
John
Is the Marucci AP5 or the Sam Bat KB1 a better fit for a contact hitter that has some power? I'm looking for a pretty balanced bat because I'm more of a line drive hitter.
Josue
Although both bat options could work, the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat (AP5BN) Adult should be a better option for your type of hitting style.
Brandon
I'm 5'7" and 13 years old who is a contact hitter. What is a good bat for me in the Marucci wood bat series?
Baseball
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat (AP5BN) would be a very good choice for you. The long barrel with a tapered handle helps to give it a balanced feel that makes it ideal for a contact hitter.
Bobby
Would the Marucci CU26B or the Marucci JB19 be more balanced?
John
No, the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat (AP5BN Adult) is going to be the most balanced out of the three that you listed.
Cooper
Is this bat very durable?
Johnny
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat (AP5BN) is made from maple, which is one of the strongest and stiffest wood types available. Durability on any wood bat can vary drastically. If you hit one ball off the handle or the end of the bat any wood bat can break. Or if you consistently make solid contact then a wood bat could last numerous years.
Tessa
I'm 13 years old and 4'11". Which bat better suits a contact hitter like me? The (AP5BN) or the (JB19).
.
As a contact hitter, I would probably suggest the Marucci Jose Bautista Maple Wood Bat: (JB19).
Merritt
I love my new AP5, but I was wondering if I could use it on dimpled balls in the batting cage?
AP5 Lover
We do not recommend hitting dimpled balls with the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN) or any game bat. The dimpled balls, or rubber cage balls, are more dense than regular baseballs and can crack, dent or even break your game bat easier.
John H
Is there any warranty on this bat?
ryan
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN) Adult is not backed by warranty.
Mac
Does this bat pass the BBCOR standards for high school play?
charles
Yes, the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood (AP5BN) is BBCOR approved and will be legal for play in high school.
John
What is the difference between youth and adult?
tanner
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN) Adult has roughly a 2 1/2" barrel diameter with an approximate -3 length to weight ratio. The Youth model has a 2 1/4" barrel diameter and has an approximate -5 length to weight ratio.
Jason
Is this model similar to a 110 turning model, or more end heavy?
Vinny
The handle of the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN) Adult is thinner than the typical 110 turning model. Because of this, it will have a slightly more end loaded feel than a 110. But it is overall a pretty well-balanced design.
Mac
I am an experienced Marucci user and use wood basically every practice and a few tournaments. Never tried the AP5 before surprisingly but have heard great things about it. How does this compare to the JB19, CU26, and CUTCH22? Those are the models I use now or have used in the past.
jboyz baseball
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN) Adult and the Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C) Cherry Adult will be most similar with a longer barrel taper. Both will have a tapered handle, but the taper on the Cutch22 will be slightly larger. The Marucci Jose Bautista Maple Wood Baseball Bat (JB19) Adult, Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CU26B) Adult will have a shorter taper on the barrel and a standard knob.

Where is the weight distributed in this bat?
jonnybball
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN Adult) will feature a slight end-load through the barrel. It is not technically an end-loaded model, however the steep barrel taper does make it feel as though it has a slight end-load.
Joe
What Marucci bat would you prefer for a gap to gap lead-off hitter?
Aj
As a lead-off contact hitter, we would typically recommend a balanced turn model such as the 110 turn model. Additionally, we would recommend ash over maple due to the light swing-weight and faster bat speed of ash models. The Marucci David Ortiz Ash Wood Baseball Bat (DO34 Adult) would be a great option.
Joe
Why are the Marucci's that the Pros. use ink dot tested? But the retail ones are not? Does that mean that they're not as high quality?
larondoi
The ink dot is something that the MLB may require. The bats like the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN Adult) are the exact same wood from his hands to the ones we sell here.
Brandon
What is the difference between this AP5BN and the AP5NB?

The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN Adult) and the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5NB Adult) are going to be identical besides the painting.

Can you explain the price difference between a ($69.00) 31 inch Alpert Pujols Maple and a ($129.00) 32 inch Pujols Maple. Seems like a lot of money for 1 inch. I have purchased 4 of your Ash bats for my kid, they break way to easy, recent break on the barrel.
Harry Up
The price difference between the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN) and the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat (AP5YB) is because the 31 inch AP5YB is a youth model which is a different design than the adult but made to give a similar feel for a youth player to what the adult player would experience. Maple is, traditionally, a bit more durable than ash.
Patrick
Is there a warranty for the first few months if the bat breaks?
Mike
Unfortunately, the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN Adult) will not carry any warranty period that would allow customers to obtain a warranty replacement through Marucci or JustBats if it were to break. Typically, natural wooden baseball bats do not carry warranty periods, but there are some composite wood models that will feature a warranty period.
Ben
What is the difference between this bat and the JB19?

The Marucci Jose Bautista Maple Wood Baseball Bat (JB19) Adult) is an extremely balanced wood bat and is typically best for a contact hitter.
Frankie
