Description

Louisville Slugger Solo -11 USA Baseball Bat: WBL2537010

The Solo will be one of the fastest swinging bats on USA baseball fields this season!

Bat Benefits

The Solo is going to be one of the most light-feeling bats on the USA bat market. Slugger has built it with a well-tested design that incorporates a single piece of alloy material topped off with a composite end-cap.

The alloy material used by Louisville Slugger is going to be the SL Hyper Alloy that delivers thin barrel walls that help the baseball explode off the barrel of this bat. Meanwhile, the composite end-cap is crafted with the Speed Ballistic End Cap (SBC) design. This end cap should remove weight from the barrel end of the bat and improve the lightweight feel plus the balance of the bat. Overall, the combo of the alloy bat and composite end-cap make this Solo swing extremely fast and it will be a bat that tons of hitters are grabbing off the bat rack this season!

This drop 11 size is perfect for players in the coach pitch ranks of USA baseball or even ones that are enjoying their first taste in kid pitch!

Pros: It has great pop and you can hear the connection from bat to ball, also my son likes it more from his Louisville solo he has.

Cons: Needs better grip, I changed the grip as soon as I got it.

The bat of mystery a person Player

Pros: Great pop and really light swinging. Bat has a slight end load but overall swing feels really good. Bat also feels REALLY REALLY good when squared up.

Cons: However, balls hit of the end or hands are not the most pleasant experiences. No matter where you hit the ball you will always have some vibration, but not enough to change the performance of the bat. Also, this bat has a very smooth grip. However, the grip can get really slippery when hands become sweaty.

Is there less sting/vibration in this bat or the Louisville Prime? WK
The Louisville Slugger Solo -11 USA Baseball Bat: WBL2537010 will offer little to no vibration control on miss hits due to this bat being a one-piece design. The bats that offer the best vibration control on miss hits would be two-piece bats as they naturally flex on contact. One example would be the Louisville Slugger Prime -10 USA Baseball Bat: WBL2536010.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
