Description
Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010
Join us in welcoming another member of the Select PWR family of bats made by Louisville Slugger! Once again, this bat is certain to be a favorite among power hitters!
Bat Benefits
Slugger is bringing back the Select PWR in a familiar design that players loved this past season. It is going to have the EXD Alloy on the barrel that allows the length of that barrel to extend an extra half inch. The bat will have a slight barrel load to it, but with this EXD Alloy, that load should not be too overwhelming for power hitters to handle.
Also, the bat is considered by Louisville Slugger to be a three-piece model that consists of a (1) alloy barrel (2) composite handle and (3) connector piece. That connector piece will have what is called the PWR Connection System that creates a stiff feel between the barrel and handle at contact with a baseball (the stiff feel is really beginning to be preferred even on multi-piece bats). And at the same time, that connection system should limit the amount of vibration that gets to a batter's hands on a miss-hit. Overall, this bat should be extremely comfortable to swing!

Pros: My 14 year old loves this bat. This bat alone helped him (freshmen) make the JV team. He tries to use other bats but always comes back to the AXE. This is the best kept secret bat.
Cons: None.
Pros: Nice design Good balance
Cons: Smaller sweet spot Heavier than than the -8 he was using before school ball.
Pros: Overall great bat. Looks amazing. Great pop and no vibration. We were torn between the select power and the meta. Very happy with our decision.
Cons: Coming from a meta, the select powers sweet spot is not as forgiving, but when you hit it you know!!
Pros: Has very good pop. Looks good. No sting. Large sweet spot
Cons: None
Pros: Great Feel, great pop.
Cons: None
Pros: Hot straight out of the box! Glad to see LS putting just as much effort into the Select as they do the Meta! I’m calling it now… This jumps to the top of the LS lineup this year for sure!
Cons: N/A
Pros: Overall pretty good bat. Not end loaded like some of the others and big sweet spot. Doesn’t destroy your hands if you get jammed.
Cons: Cost obviously
Pros: Great feel at contact, moderate to larger size of sweet spot, doesn't ring you up on a less than perfect hit
Cons: Not quite as much pop off the sweet spot as some others
Pros: perfect
Cons: nothing
Pros: This bat has done wonders for my son. He loves the feel of the bat. He said the sweet spot is much better than his old bat. He has experienced no vibration. This bat really has a lot of pop. As always buying the bat with Just bats has been a great experience.
Cons: None
Pros: none
Cons: none
Pros: Good pop and general feel. Hot out of the wrapper.
Cons: Not durable. First time in the cages, the finish of the bat cracked off. Yes it was an indoor cage and was temperature regulated. Sent the back for warranty claim. They deemed it defective and issued a voucher, but did not take into account the sale tax that I paid when purchasing the bat the first time. I lost out on $24.95. Petty maybe, but when you spend that much on a top level bat you would think it would last longer than it’s first hour in a cage.
Pros: Looks like a good bat
Cons: Rattled the first day
Pros: Great Pop! Even with bad contact!
Cons: None
Pros: Grandson hitting them out 375 +
Cons: None yet will have to see about durability
Pros: Really easy to swing, lots of pop, good durability so far, love this bat
Cons: None so far
Pros: Pop. Good end load. For stronger power hitters
Cons: None
Pros: Had to find a new bat as my son's Voodoo One was sent back with severe warranty issues. He liked the Voodoo One but just not durable. Went with this after he tried it out locally, and then ordered from here. He says it is just a tad heavier versus the Voodoo One, but he sweet spot is much larger and very noticeably better. Great, great pop as well. So far, so good.
Cons: None to date.
Pros: The bat had great pop
Cons: Broke after fourth use!
Pros: Lots
Cons: None
Pros: My 16 yr. old son says "it feels like the Meta" I'm saying fantastic..it didn't cost that much ! The real deal, a sleeper & a steal. Looks good too !
Cons: None so far !
Pros: The bat sweet spot is incredible. I bought this bat for the beginning of the season and I haven’t hit the ball in the infield yet. It’s crazy how much pop this bat has. Must buy
Cons: None
Pros: Perfect swing weight, lots of pop, and big sweet spot
Cons: Some barrel rattle
Pros: Ball jumps off of this bat. Glad we got it.
Cons: None so far.
Pros: This bat is amazing. Got it in late July and has been an amazing partner of my ever since.
Cons: The only con is the grip tape has already worn off, but I purchased a lizard skin I've had no troubles since.
Pros: bat has a lot of pop, and feels good off the barrel, performs well and isnt too light or too heavy
Cons: if you mishit, it doesnt go anywhere, and produces generally low exit velocities compared to other bats
Pros: Nice pop smooth no vibration
Cons: Only lasted about 100 swings in the cage
Pros: A lot
Cons: none

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
