Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010

Join us in welcoming another member of the Select PWR family of bats made by Louisville Slugger! Once again, this bat is certain to be a favorite among power hitters!

Bat Benefits

Slugger is bringing back the Select PWR in a familiar design that players loved this past season. It is going to have the EXD Alloy on the barrel that allows the length of that barrel to extend an extra half inch. The bat will have a slight barrel load to it, but with this EXD Alloy, that load should not be too overwhelming for power hitters to handle.

Also, the bat is considered by Louisville Slugger to be a three-piece model that consists of a (1) alloy barrel (2) composite handle and (3) connector piece. That connector piece will have what is called the PWR Connection System that creates a stiff feel between the barrel and handle at contact with a baseball (the stiff feel is really beginning to be preferred even on multi-piece bats). And at the same time, that connection system should limit the amount of vibration that gets to a batter's hands on a miss-hit. Overall, this bat should be extremely comfortable to swing!

Warranty

You can buy this Louisville Slugger with some confidence! SECRET! JAZ Parent

Pros: My 14 year old loves this bat. This bat alone helped him (freshmen) make the JV team. He tries to use other bats but always comes back to the AXE. This is the best kept secret bat.

Cons: None.

Great bat Brian Parent

Pros: Overall great bat. Looks amazing. Great pop and no vibration. We were torn between the select power and the meta. Very happy with our decision.

Cons: Coming from a meta, the select powers sweet spot is not as forgiving, but when you hit it you know!!

Have a question about the 2022 Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Which of the Slugger bats swings similar to a Baum bat swing weight?
James
Unfortunately, it would be hard to compare the swing weight feel of the Baum bat to a LS model. The Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 would be a great option to consider if one prefers a bat with a slightly end-loaded swing weight design.
Cameron
My son is 16, 5'10, 180lbs. He's been swinging the CAT 8 and 9 Connects the last few years. How does this bat compare? Is there a better bat for him out there.
Joe K
This Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 is also a hybrid bat just like the Cat connect. The two models are extremely similar.
Ryan
Given the alloy barrel is there still a cold weather concern (< 60°) with the composite handle?
JD
With it having an alloy barrel the cold weather will have a lot less of an effect on it compared to a typical composite bat.
Dillon
Would this be too end loaded of a transition? 5'11" 150 lb. player that has swung a 32" Meta Prime.
Larry
The Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 will be LS's heaviest swinging bat and would feel different when compared to the Meta. If the player prefers more of a balanced swing weight type of bat, then this Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 would not be a good option to consider.

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
