Description

Louisville Slugger RXT -9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WBL2449010

With this RXT Fastpitch bat, you can harness the power of the 2 most famous Louisville Slugger Fastpitch bats of all time!

Bat Benefits

Fastpitch players have long admired the stiff feel of Louisville Slugger's XENO bat. As well, they have celebrated the comfortability (i.e. ability to limit vibration) of the LXT. The bat engineers at Louisville took to their lab and created this RXT that will be stiff like the XENO (a positive for the power hitters out there), but also comfortable like the LXT (a positive for any type of hitter).

Along with incorporating qualities of the XENO and LXT, the engineers over at Louisville Slugger also built the bat to be well balanced in its swing feel. If there is a player out there that finds an excessive barrel load to be a hinderance, then this bat should certainly be considered as it can be whipped through the zone extremely fast!

The drop 9 size of this bat will be very attractive for older players (high school and college level) as it will allow for a little extra mass to be present. However, some younger girls that have a little extra power might even be interested in jump up to this bat sooner!

Warranty

This bat will indeed be covered with a twelve (12) month warranty extended by Louisville Slugger. If you get the bat and notice something wrong with it before 12 months have passed from the purchase date, please let the Bat Experts know about the situation. The Bat Experts are knowledgeable about the warranty replacement process for Louisville Slugger and they will get you the information needed to begin organizing the bat replacement process!

Great bat so far Trent Parent

Pros: Great pop right out of the wrapper and I think it will get even better. Looks very good. The graphics and colors are very nice. About 500 hits on it so far, tee/soft toss/games, and no issues.

Cons: Not a huge fan of the grip tape. My daughter likes it a bit more padded. That's an easy fix though.

Bummed Rose Lunsmann Parent

Pros: The bat seemed like a great purchase. My daughter was pleased with the pop when she hit the ball. It did seem to start rattling after a couple practices and games.

Cons: After playing her last high school game, the rattle has become more pronounced. She knows she won't be able to use it for all-stars as the umpires won't allow it once they hear the rattle in the bat. We are going to have to return it.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
