Description
Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2522010
Slugger is here with their 4th rendition of the Meta BBCOR bat and it is poised to hit rockets across high school and college baseball fields, just like its predecessors!
Bat Benefits
This bat is built in Louisville Slugger's 3-piece design that incorporates (1) a composite barrel (2) a composite handle and (3) a connector piece. The composite barrel and handle will be made from Louisville Slugger's EKO Composite material. On the barrel, that material offers the great advantage of having a huge barrel length, but also a lightweight swing feel. The connector piece is made in the 3FX-PWR design. This piece provides a stiff feel between the barrel and handle at contact with a baseball. The stiff feel has become increasingly popular on bats within the last few years as batters feel like all the power they put into their swing goes into the baseball at contact. And be sure to also note that the 3FX-PWR piece limits the amount of vibration that can get down to a batter's hands on a miss-hit.
This drop 3, BBCOR bat will be an excellent choice for both power and contact hitters. The lightweight feel will make it great for the batter who is a contact hitter and needs the bat to help place the ball all over the field in order to be successful. Meanwhile, power hitters will love it as the stiff connection will make them feel as though all of their power is getting put into each and every hit. Lastly, every hitter will love it for the super long barrel length which will lead to the bat also having a lengthy sweetspot.

Pros: Great balance
Cons: None so far
Pros: I was indecisive between buying the BBCOR Voodoo One or the BBCOR Meta, I have always been a fan of DeMarini and Louisville, my son used the Meta (Blue) 32"/29oz for a long time, until that is too small for him (I feel a lot of nostalgia, that bat for good!) I left behind the bad reviews that the Meta had and I decided on the Meta in 33"/20oz, after hitting hundreds of balls in batting cages and some on the field, I dare to say that I made the best of the choice, the feeling when hitting the ball, the force it produces and its balanced swing, confirm that it was the best I could buy!
Cons: Nothing for now
Pros: bat feels very light when you pick it up swing weight feels great the pop is outstanding overall out of 10 about a 9.5
Cons: there are non
Pros: Good balance, no vibration, amazing pop. My son swings a 32/29. It’s a homerun bat.
Cons: You already know! $$$$$$$
Pros: Huge pop. Great against fast pitching. Awesome sound.
Cons: None.
Pros: It has such a huge sweet spot. It really is hard to miss with it. I have been using it for 2 months now and it really is worth it.
Cons: None
Pros: I was a little skeptical about paying $500 for a bat, but after my son has used it for a couple weeks now I am highly impressed. This bat has a very nice sweet spot and great pop from day one. Bat has a balanced feel which really helped his swing.
Cons: $$$$
Pros: Light swinging, massive sweet spot, great feel
Cons: Way too expensive, no pop, weird look
Pros: This bat feels amazing, sounds amazing, and performs amazing on miss-hits. One of the biggest sweet-spots in BBCOR. It doesn't provide much feedback, and is very light swinging.
Cons: This bat doesn't have much pop, but other than that it's fantastic.
Pros: Feel and pop is great. I normally have changed grips, but this bat stock grip is solid. Durability is very good. Bat has already exceeded most others life.
Cons: Cost.... Not crazy about the color.
Pros: Reasonably light swing. I was concerned about the pop in this bat and the break in period, based on reviews that I read. It was hot out of the wrapper and my 12 year old (5’4” 125lb) rising 7th grader had no issue swinging the 31/28.
Cons: None yet.
Pros: Extremely durable composite bat. Have several from 29 -10 to 32 -3. All performed at a very respectable level. All of these bats literally have 1000's of swings on them, even cold weather play. Just my sons each hit several hundred balls a week, add the teams with year-round practice, play, and cage time to that. Zero failures other than cosmetic chips on any of the Meta's. All still have better than new performance. Just about the entire high school varsity team batted with the 32 -3 for 2 consecutive years, can't say enough how well they have held up. Change the grip tape about once a year and keep hitting!
Cons: As with ANY composite bat the finish will chip if hit against spikes.
Pros: Hits tanks
Cons: none
Pros: Great sweet spot, no vibration off the hands. This causes more barrel contact and helps with more base hits. Looks amazing. I'm a freshman in high school and easily able to swing this bat.
Cons: Price Distance on hits
Pros: Very balanced swing weight Good power if you're strong enough No vibration in the hands Durable Easy to control through the zone
Cons: Price
Pros: Solid bat
Cons: None
Pros: Everything about this bat is great the sound is so good.
Cons: there is no cons at all

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
