Description

Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010

This Meta is poised to be even better than the first two versions. Watch out!

Bat Benefits

This BBCOR bat is crazy cool in its design as it delivers a massive barrel length that feels light as a feather. In addition, it is a two-piece bat that limits vibration, but also feels super stiff at contact with a baseball. Because of these design features, it can be used and enjoyed by any type of hitter. Contact guys that need an easy-to-control bat...they will enjoy the balance. Sluggers (pun intended) that want to feel as though all of their energy gets put into the baseball...they'll go nuts over the stiff feel. And oh yeah, this bat features the EKO Composite which might possibly be some of the most responsive composite material on the baseball market.

Warranty

A 100+ year old company does not get to be in existence today without knowing how to take care of their customers. Louisville Slugger most definitely covers this bat with a full twelve (12) month manufacturer’s warranty period that extends from the purchase date. If you buy the bat from JustBats and run into any warranty issues with those 12 months, do not hesitate to reach out to our Bat Experts. They are knowledgeable on bat warranties and will be able to get you all the needed info to begin a warranty replacement process with Louisville Slugger.

Pricey but good Matt G. Parent

Pros: We got this in August from LS to replace the banned 2020 33" Meta. It is comparable and has the same great pop. My son was hitting noticeably farther with the Meta than he was with his CAT 8

Cons: Expensive. Low quality bat grip only lasted about 1 month before it started tearing. Ended up putting a Gator on it, which we would have done anyway.

A step backwards from blue meta Brooks Player

Pros: It's really balanced.

Cons: Stung my hands way more than my blue meta. Paint started getting chipped and peeled off almost instantly. Not having pop like the older metas.

Great bat Mason Miles Player

Pros: Love the feel of the bat and have multiple hard hit shots off the end and getting jammed too. Great bay all around and if you have enough power you can put the ball wherever you want with this bat

Cons: Grip tape is not the best. Just get the lizard skin with it

Did not like the Meta Ted Parent

Pros: Swings light. Good towards the hands.

Cons: Can't use it in the cold Poor feel and response off the end. So only half the barrel is useable and can only use it half the season due to weather Son likes his well broken in Prime 919 better.

Worth it! Laren Parent

Pros: Bought this bat after my son's Cat 9 broke, he's hit 4 homeruns, one of them being a walk-off. He loves this bat, but the tape is a little weak, other than that, this bat has 0 issues, and my son loves it.

Cons: None

Good, But too expensive Matt R. Player

Pros: It feels amazing on hits that are barreled up. And it is very forgiving on miss hits and very light to swing. Looks good as well.

Cons: It has no juice, I can get perfect barrel and it goes way shorter then it should have. My old Demarini hits it way farther. The paint chips very easily as well. Grip wore out within a month.

Tori
Can I get this in alloy? James Mason
Unfortunately, the Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 is only made as a two-piece composite bat. LS makes the Solo in alloy as well as a hybrid model (Select) that has an alloy barrel and composite handle.
Cameron
Does this bat have a composite barrel? Stacy
Yes, the Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 is a two-piece fully composite bat.
Cameron
For a catcher who has significant power, but also is a good contact player, is 5’ 9” and weighs 165 lbs, what size bat would you recommend? In he past he has used a 32, but he has grown since last season. Jess
Based on the information provided, a 32'' would still be the recommended size for his height and weight. However, since he has been using that and has grown, I would recommend getting the Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 in a 33''.
Tori
Is this bat end-loaded? William
The Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 features a balanced swing feel.

My son is 13, 5'1" and 98 lbs. Is this bat too much for him? Craig
The smallest size of the Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 would be 31 inches. Based on your player's height, weight and age, we would recommend a 29 or 30 inch bat.
Cameron
How long can we expect this bat to last for high school and summer use? TOM
Unfortunately it would be hard to say how long the Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 may last someone. Composite bats, in general, do not seem to hold up as well as alloy models.
Cameron
My son is 14 years old and 5’9" 3/4. Weighs 150 lbs. and has a much stronger than average swing (he plays water polo too). Would a 33” drop 3 Meta be a good choice? He’s currently swinging a 31” drop 3 Prime and he’s definitely outgrown it. Bob
Based on your player's height and weight, we would recommend a 32 inch of the Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010. If you feel he can handle a 33 inch BBCOR then there is certainly nothing wrong going with that size.
Cameron
Would you recommend this or the new Select? I'm having a hard time deciding. Skylar
Whether to get the Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 or the Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 really comes down to hitter preference. The Meta will be slightly more balanced than the Select PWR but both bats will offer a hitter similar performance capabilities.
Cameron
What bat would you recommend for a 13 year old who wants a composite two-piece that is not that pricey. red
The Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 is one of the top two-piece composite models currently on the market. What else to consider would ultimately come down to price point and what size the hitter would be seeking. This would allow for a better evaluation of the closeout market.
Cameron
Is there a break-in procedure for the Louisville Meta? John Stier
The Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 will benefit from a break-in period of 50-150 swings off the tee, soft toss or front side toss at around 70% of max swing effort. Rotate the barrel a 1/4 turn after each swing.
Cameron
How heavier is the meta compared to a solo or velo Mike
This Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 might swing/feel slightly heavier being a two piece model, but it should not be a huge difference.
Ryan
How would this Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 compare to the DeMarini CF BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC21 as far as being the most balanced swing/lightest weight swing? Which one would be considered the heavier "end loaded" swinging bat? Tyler
The Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 and DeMarini CF BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC21 are very similar bats in that both feature a two-piece fully composite design with a balanced swing weight. The connection point design is stiffer on the Meta, giving the bat more of a "one-piece" feel on contact. As for which one is more balanced, most will likely lean towards the DeMarini CF in that regards.
Cameron
I’m 5'11" and 150 lbs., what size would be good for me? Dexter Tessendorf
Would recommend a 32 inch model of the Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 based on your current height and weight.
Cameron
Looking to get this bat and was wondering if it was legal or not considering that it’s past variants were banned Tito vargas
Yes this years model is legal and approved for BBCOR.
Ryan
Meta or Meta power? What size of this Meta bat would be good for my son? He is 5'6" tall and 174 pounds and 14 years old (entering his 14U season). He is more contact vs power and has not used a drop 3 yet. He finished 13U with a 30 inch drop 10. Jason
The Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 is more balanced in swing weight design while the Meta PWR is end-loaded. Per your son's height and weight, and factoring in his age, what he has swung prior, and his swing type (contact versus power), we would recommend getting the Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 at 32 inches.
Cameron
I’m trying to find a BBCOR bat on the lighter side so I’m able to get the bat through the zone faster when I hit 14u and HS. I’ve used a 31/29 Meta before and I loved it. I’m 5’3’’ and almost 13. Do you think this is the right choice for me? CC
The lightest swinging BBCOR bat from LS will be the Solo. The Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010, though heavier, would still be a great bat to consider for use at the BBCOR level.
Cameron
I’m a little ways away from a BBCOR bat and I’m looking for a solid option, slightly end loaded bat. I'm 5’3” and almost 13, is the right bat for me? John
The Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2463010 is a great bat to consider for someone transitioning to the BBCOR market.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
