Description

Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Just used it in my batting cages in my backyard with leather covered balls and the ball was flying off the bat it felt really good and my first game with it is tomarrow... HOPE IT GOES WELL

Cons: The weight is slightly strange because although you can get a very fast swing with it... it is more top heavy than a lot of easton BBCOR bats. Still over all probably the best bat ive owned!

Pros: the easton power brigade S2 is the BBCOR bat to buy. Well balanced and swings thru the hitting zone very quickly. It is made for line drive don't let that stop you from buying it if you think you have power. My son is 14yrs old and hit with power loved it. Hit line drive plus 330+ yards with the S2. It has a very nice barrell not so big that your bat drags thru the hitting zone. I have the S1 and S2 both are really great bats.

Cons: NONE i can't stress it more this is the bat for 2012

Pros: I have been using this bat for a few weeks now and I really like it. I love the weighting and the barrel isn't obnoxiously large. It feels just like a BESR bat and has great pop. (I'm a senior in high school 5'10, 160lbs by the way)

Cons: Ball marks get left on the bat over time. Not a problem though because it kinda looks cool.

Cons: We had to have them both replaced before we even played a game. Both bats broke at the connection between barrel and handle.

Pros: Easton is very good at customer service, we found that out with this purchase

Cons: The S3 has a major defect issue. My son is on bat #3 and it just broke. Bought #1 in February and it is now May. They break at the connection, bat starts to rattle and loses all pop as it is no longer rigid. Can't play with it broken and they seem to break at the 2 week mark. Easton needs to fix this on the next generation of these bats.

Pros: Great bat with good pop. BBCOR bats typically last a season due to the amount of abuse it gets during the season. Great Price, Best Speed bat

Cons: Noticed that there was a slight gap between the CXN connector and the aluminum portion of the bat. I have returned to Easton for either a fix or replacement. Pros: im going im to my senior year, so far ive had two of this type of Easton bat, ive hit 7 homeruns in 10 games. this bat is the best bbcor bat I have been able to get my hands on. ive tried the rip it, the voodoo's, the mako, 5150s and still go back to this bat because of its amazing pop. the barrel did start to spin, but as long as it spins it doesn't effect the pop believe me. best bbcor bat on the market. too bad its discontinued.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB11S2? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Are these bats regular flex or stiff flex ? If there is a choice what are the major reasons to pick stiff or regular? Thanks, Swing Hard. Ross F
The S2 is a stiff flex handel. If you have a very quick swing speed and are a power hitter you will want to have a bat with a stiffer handel. On the other hand if you have a slower swing speed and are more of contact hitter, a two piece bat with more of a regular flex handel will suite you better.
Mark
well i want to know if you recomend this bat and if you can send it to Mexico city? jorge felix
The S2 is a very high quality bbcor just release by Easton. It uses th THT100 Alloy in its two piece design. We can only ship to locations inside the US.
Mark
my son is a 13 yr old starting his first year of legion ball and 8th grade ball. He has a long swing. Which Easton bbcor bat would you recommend. Kelly
This is going to be one of the hottest bats on the market right now. This bat is going to be using all the newest technologies. This bat is testing as one of the hotter bats out there.
Todd
Is this bat like the new omen bbcor model? alex
No, this bat will have an alloy barrel. The Omen has a composite barrel.
Kris
Will this bat be legal for the 2012 high school season in TN? Worried Daddy
Yes, this bat will be legal for high school play. In most states high school players can only use BBCOR bats.
Kris
Why does this bat come in only 33 and 34 in.? Todd
As of 9/13 we only have those sizes in stock. When we get more in stock there will be options for those.
Kris
i have a short but hard swing not so much speed though, which of the 6 power brigade bats should i get ?? beast at 3rd
Personally with a short swing a bat can't correct that, but since you said you have quick bat speed, I would get the S2 Bat
joe
this bat compared to the cat 5 and Anderson ignnite. which is best? sarge14
This is going to be one of the hottest bats on the market. This bat is going to be the bat that replaces the BBCOR Omen. The BB11S2 will have some of the best pop out of all the BBCOR bats on the market.
Todd
So for the contact hitter what Easton BBCOR bat are you recommending? I have a quick swing, but I'm not very big. JM
For contact hitter the S3 will be a better option. The S3 is a one piece design which is for contact hitters, two piece bats are more for power hitters
Kris
for a power hitter which is better this or the s3. and what is the difference between the xl2 and s2 sarge14
The S2 is a two piece design which is for power hitters, the S3 is a one piece for contact hitters. The XL2 has a longer barrel and the S2 has a lower M.O.I. which means faster swing speeds.
Vince
I'm a little confused, Mark, the expert, answered a question about flex. He said the S2 is a stiff flex and should be used by power hitters and a 2 piece bat should be used by contact hitters. The S2 is a 2 piece bat so what kind of hitter should use it???? rikenist
I'm sorry about that. I should have mentioned that normally a 2 piece is best for contact hitters because there is some flex to the bat. I was told by our product management team that the S2's handle is very similar to the older Surge's handle, which is a stiff flex handle. Stiff flex handle's perform very similar to one piece bats because there is very little flex. Both one piece bats and two piece bats with stiff handle's are good for power hitters.
Mark
My son is a 8th grader 5' 90 lbs. he needs a 31" bat,and needs a -3,what do you think would he benefit from. jimmy
At his size, if he is a contact hitter, he maybe best suited in a two piece bat that has some flex to it. This will allow the bat to have some flex as he is coming through the zone and create more power for him.
Mark
if im a power hitter with a quick swing am i looking at the s2 or xl2 ? and whats the difference between the xl2/s2 as opposed to the xl1/s1 ? Skim
XL1 is a youth bat for Little League play, XL2 is an adult bat used in high school and college play. Same with the S1 and S2. The 1 is a 2 1/4" barrel for youth leagues. the 2 is the 2 5/8" barrel for high school and college play. The XL2 has an extra long barrel design for massive sweet spot and expanded hitting zone. The S2 is a speed design which gives the player faster swing speeds for increased power.
LKH
So does Easton have a 2 piece, non-stiff BBCOR bat for contact hitters? cody
Yes the s3 or any of the 1 piece baseball bats
Big Al
Will the s2 be a good baseball bat for me if i am a power hitter or would it be one of the bats from the xl series? Big Al
Both bats are designed for added power. The XL is designed for more of a power hitter due to the massive barrel.
Kris
If i have a quick and powerful swing is this the bat for me??? Chris
Very much so! This bat is designed for this type of swing. Easton's theory with this bat is SPEED = POWER
Dave
Which is correct? One piece is for power hitters and two piece is contact hitters, or the other way around? Cody C
My mistake we have had some confusion. One piece bats are more for power hitters, two piece bats are for contact hitters because they have more flex.
Kris
Do you know if select leagues such as USSSA or requiring BBCOR Bats? Also, what about middle schools in Tennessee? Rusty
BBCOR bats are currently only for high school or college. It's always a good idea to check with a coach or league offical for bat rules.
Kris
I would like to know when the Easton S1 (composite) will be available? Hawk
The S1 is currently on our website. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s1--yb11s1-youth/14430/

joe
Which bat would be best for a contact hitter that sometimes shows power.. The Easton S2, the rip it prototype 2, the marucci cat 5, the easton surge, or the new anderson? Steve
It is really going to go down to personal preference. If you give us a call at 1-866-321-2287 we will be able to narrow down the choices for you.
John
When will the 31 inch 28 ounce bat size be available for the Easton S2 BBCOR bat? Joe
Yes. We should be receiving the 31/28 the first two weeks of November 2011.
Kara
Does this Easton BBCOR S2 have any "ping" when you hit the ball? Joe
Yes, this bat will still have the ping sound when it is hit with
Sean
I am a hitter that is known for both my deep shots, but i mostly hit balls in the gap. is this or the xl2 a better bat for me? Taylor w
This will really depend on if you want an end loaded bat or a balanced bat. The S2 is lighter and more balanced giving you faster swing speed. The XL2 is going to be end loaded, normally used for power hitters.
K.B.
Last season my 15 year old son used an Easton Stealth BCN9 bat. Which of the new Easton's would be the most similar? Mils
This one would be pretty similar to the bcn9.
lkh
I have been on line researching your you new line of bats for my son.he is 5'10 and weihs 155lb. He is not a power hitter so I believe the BB11S2 would be a correct fit for him , correct me if I am wrong. Thanks David. Dave
Yes, the Easton S2 BB11S2 would be a nice fit for your son.
lkh
Because this bat has a lighter swing weight, does that mean the barrel is smaller than usual? About how long is the barrel? Brooks
The barrel isn't really shorter, it's where the weight is distributed that makes it swing lighter. The XL line is an extended barrel meaning the weight is down farther on the barrel, which makes it feel a little heavier.
lkh
Is this S2 stiff handle? Or does easton have two like they did for the old stealth series? Hardball
The S2 us a two piece bat so it is going to have more flex than the S3 which is a one piece alloy bat.
K.B.
Generally 2 piece bats, with composite handles and alloy barrels have a little more flex to them. Just as 1 piece bats are usually stiffer.
lkh
For a 13 yr old would a 32 in s2 or a s3 fit King13
13 year old's don't normally swig -3 bats. If they are required to have a -3 BBCOR bat then I would get the smallest size in the S2.
Kara
I will occasionally get a home run or an extra base hit but mostly singles what bat should i get the s2, s3, xl3, or the xl2. mirage770
I would go with the S2 or S3 if you are mostly a line drive hitter.
Mark
Which bat in the new easton series would be most like the tpx H2? Rick
The S2 would be the most similar. Both have a high quality alloy barrel and a stiff flex composite handle.
Mark
i'm thinking that the s2 is more like the old easton stealth than the xl2 is, am i correct? smitty
It is more like the Stealth Speed line, yes.
lkh
which bat would you reccomend S2, vector, omen, and the xl2. i have been more of a contact hitter but i need a bat with a lot of pop. i have enough strength to hit shots smitty
I will be honest with you, each one of those bats offers something different. But for what you described, the BB112S sounds like a good fit.
lkh
My son is 9th grade. 5'4" 130 pounds contact hitter with great bat speed. Which bat would be the fit. Bill f
The S2 would be the best for a contact hitter.
Tony
Since both the S2 and Easton Omen are both BBCOR, will the Omen have more Pop, since it is a full composite bat rather than the composite/alloy that the S2 is? Grub
The Omen and S1 are going to have a little more pop to them since they are all composite. Both the S1 and S2 are going to have excellent bat speed.
K.B.
S series vs XL series and what would you recommend for power hitters? diesel
The XL series is more endloaded and would be suited best for power hitters.
K.B.
For someone who is more of a contact hitter than a power hitter, would the S2 or the XL2 be a better choice. Jonny
The S2 is going to having a light swing weight and be a very balanced bat. The XL2 will have a slightly larger sweet spot with a slight endloaded feel to it. I would recommend the S2 for you.
John
What has more "pop," the Easton S2 or the Marucci Cat5 squared? Joe
These are both going to have great pop. It will come down to preference on what type of bat you want. The S2 is a two piece bat and the Cat 5 is all alloy. Both are lightweight and balanced.
K.B.
when you get a hit with the s2, or s3, will you feel the contact, or will it be more of a nonexistent hit? nater
Both bats have great balance and feel. I've hit with both and can say that even though I felt it in my hands, making contact felt a lot softer compared to most BBCOR bats. They definitely swing great.
John
Which of the power brigade bats would u recommend for a player who is a line drive hitter and tends to hit into the gaps jchapmanMB
I think the Speed series would be a better fit for a contact/doubles type of hitter.
John
What Easton BBCOR bat would you reccomend for a hitter who hits line-drives to the gaps? JB
The S2 is going to be the best for contact hitters.
Kara
Between the Easton S2 and the Demarini VooDoo BBCOR, which bat feels more balanced or less end loaded? My son is 12 and will be playing middle school ball that requires BBCOR certified bats. RobbyS
Both of these bats will have a balanced weight. They are not end-loaded. Both of those bats will be good BBCOR options.
KG
Which would be better for a person who mostly hits double but tends to have lots of power the S2 or XL2? Nick
If you can handle an endloaded bat, then I would go with the XL2. Otherwise I would stick with the S2.
K.B.
is this bat a good bat for swinging to the fence with. i have a 2010 surge that i hit the fence with all the time going anywhere from 300 to 330 being 13 years old and all the reviews are great saying for power hitters but i want to be sure before i decide b-ron
The S2 was developed towards the speed type hitters, to help transfer that speed into power. The XL2 series was designed for the power hitters to generate more speed, equaling more distance. So it depends what kind of hitter you are now. If your a power hitter I would look at the XL2, and if your a speed placement hitter I would look at the S2.
Derek
I see you have this bat in only 32, 33, and 34. Will you ever have a 31 in stock. if so when? J.T.
Yes, we are expecting some. We have not received a delivery date as of right now. But feel free to keep checking our site, they will be posted as soon as they come in.
Linda
i used to swing the sv12, is the s2 or xl2 more like it, i more of a contact hitter but i do hit HR sometimes trey56
It's been a while since I've seen the SV!2, and if my memory is correct, it was a 1 piece alloy. If that is the case the Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult would be your best bet.
Linda

The S2 is a good choice, but if you are a power hitter you might look at the S3 too.
Linda
i am really tall and have a fast swing but not the best homerun hitter i am mor of a contaact hitter which bat would you profer 15dm
Then the Easton Speed series would be a good option for you. The XL series is going to have a slight endload feel to it which more of the power hitters prefer.
John

Linda
I`m 13 years old , 5`1 and 101 lbs. I`m kind of in the middle between contact and power hitter...which bats for me???? Jared
This S2 could be good for the contact hitter in you. Or possibly the S3 for the power hitter.
Linda
What bat is better the Easton s1 or s2? And are two piece bats good? Wolves
Both of these will be good bats. The S1 has a composite barrel which tends to give the player more pop.
KG
Which bat is most comparable to the Easton SV12 Ozone 90? Chris
Yes, this is going to be comparable to the SV12
Sean
Which bat is most comparable to the old easton sv12, swing weight wise? Baseballer69
The SV12 had a low swing weight, making it most comparable to the the Easton S2, model BB11S2.
TJ
My son is in 10th grade, 5'8" is a contact hitter, with a quick swing and needs an evenly weight distributed bat. Which Easton BBCOR would you recommend? Jhines
This one, the S@ would be ideal for him.
Linda
What is the difference in the easton s1 s2 and s3 bats? colin
The S1 is a one piece composite bat. The S2 is a half and half bat. The S3 is an aluminum bat.
Sean
Besides price, what is the difference between the S1 and S2?? Stan
The S1 is a two piece all composite bat, the S2 is a two piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle.
Kara
Last year i used the first surge(white/yellow) and i liked it. which bat is most similar to it? Tony
This one, the S2 is the closest to the Surge.
Linda
Why does this bat not have a ping sound when made contact with the ball on the sweetspot? joe
Because the barrel is alloy. Alloy makes a more ping sound, where composite has a more dull thump sound.
Linda
my son swung the easton BST10 the last two years with great success very good singles and doubles hitter .... can i go with the S3 .... strikes out less than 10 % of time ron
Yes, the S3 would be a good model to go with, it is not very comparable to the BST10 because it is going to have an alloy barrel and the BST10 is a full composite bat
John
Is Easton going to make an S2 -5 bat for this year Tony
No. They only make a -5 in the XL3 SL11X35.
Kara
Personally, I am in my 4th year of playing and first year of highschool ball, Im still working on becoming a better hitter im 5,7 and 130 lbs i consider myself a contact hitter with not alot of power so i need a bat with alot of balance and pop thats easy to swing yet still supplies alot of pop would you recommend the marucci black or this bat? Justin
I lean toward the Easton on this one. It has a nice balance and great pop. The Black is also a great bat, just slightly more end weighted.
Linda
These bats have the same construction and have generally balanced swing weights.
Shelbe
I had a Easton surge composite last year and loved it, is the S2 or the XL2 closer to the Surge Raishaun
The S2 is the closest to the Surge.
Linda
How does the sweet spot of this bat compare to other brands? and also how does the balance of the xl series compare to others? NC
If you want more balance the S2 is the way to go. The S2 has a very nice sweet spot!
Linda
My son is 14 5' 11" and 175 lbs he is a gap hitter. What do you think is best for him? GrimeDawg
The S2 would be a good option. Easton's speed series is definitely for hitters who are looking for control, and that is what gap hitters are all about.
Shelbe
Between the S2, 2012 Voodoo, Marucci Black, and MC2... Which has the best pop and which do you recommend for a 6"2 175 pound powerful contact hitter? jhsbaseball
Generally speaking, power hitters usually prefer 1 piece bats. These are all 2 piece bats.
Linda
i can hit for power and im good contact hitter. what the best bat p
This would be a great bat for an all around hitter.
Randy
what is the temperature limits of this bat....how cold can it be without the bat being damaged when hitting? cold weather
Most manufacturer's recommend you limit the bat's use when it is below 55 or 60 degrees out. This doesn't mean that the bat will become damaged if it's 54 degrees, it is just that the likely hood of that happening is higher. I would just be careful when it's that cold and try not to use it as much.
TJ
What is the main difference between the s2 and s3? EHS21
The S2 is a two piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The S3 is a one piece all alloy bat.
Kara
im a sort of a contact hitter is this one or the s3 better for me? chilidog15
The S2 is a two-piece bat that will offer more flex than the S3. This means it is probably better suited for contact hitters.
TJ
How would u compare this bat to the easton BNC2 Omen BBCOR? Chris
The Omen is last years top of the line bat made by Easton. It would be a two piece composite. The S2 is going to be the replacement for the Surge, which will feature a composite handle and alloy barrel.
John
The BNC2 is a Two-Piece Full composite bat. The BB11S2 is going to be a Two-Piece bat with a composite handle and aluminum alloy barrel. Composite bats are going to out perform alloy bats the more and more they are used.
Ryan
not so much for this bat but is this a big barrel and are most bbcor bats big barrels or no? tflo14
Yes, this is a big barrel. The barrel diameter will be 2 5/8".
John
which one you think is better or you recommend betwen s2 and s3? rico
Both these bats are going to have an aluminum alloy barrel. The S2 is going to be a two-piece model, this will give the bat more of a flex to it when it is being swung. The S3 is going to have more of a stiff feel, because it is a one-piece bat
Ryan
i am a contact hitter but have a fast swing speed. would u recomend ghis bat or the xl2. and between the s2/xl2 and the s3/xl3 what r the main differences and why is the 3 better. also would you recommend this bat or the marucci black Matt
I would recommend the S2, it will help you increase swing speed. The S2 is going to be a two-piece bat with a composite handle. The S3 is going to be a one-piece all aluminum alloy.
Ryan
my son is under 100 lbs in middle school ball-does the s2 come in a 30"? if not, what do you recommend? jeremy
The S2 does not come in a 30 inch. However the Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult is available in a 30 inch.
Kara
I am 5'7 130 lb. and I am a contact hitter you know in the gaps which bat in the Brigade Series is best for me? RUSH
Two piece bats like the S2 will be the best bat for a contact hitter.
KB
Would you suggest the Omen or the S2 for a contact hitter? Nick W.
I would suggest either one for a contact hitter. You can't go wrong with either one.
Shelbe
What is the big difference between the S1 and S2, other than price? Steve
The S1 is a two-piece bat that is all composite. The S2 is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle.
Tyler
I liked the weight of the stealth and at 5 feet 8 inches and 160 lbs I'm thinking the S1 or S2 might be best. I also like the two piece bat better. What do you recommend? Marcus
Both are great bats. If you liked the Stealth, the S1 may be a little more comparable.
Tyler
This bat is a half and half with the handle being composite. Is the handle considered the entire first piece of the bat that is not the barrel? How does a composite handle affect performance? Jason
The composite handle is he first piece. The composite handle provides more flex than a one piece alloy bat.
KB
I am 6'1" 145 lbs, I'm a contact hitter. Would i be better off with the S2 or XL2? Also, how much longer and weight does the XL Series have on the barrel for a 33" 30oz.? Zack
If you are a contact hitter, I would lean toward the S2 as it will have a lighter swing weight. I would say the XL will feel about .5 ounces heaver towards the end of the barrel
Tyler
How long does this bat take to break in? What is the best way to do this? Zack
This bat has an alloy barrel and does not require a break in. Only composite barrel bats will require a break in. This bat will be hot right out of the wrapper when you receive it!
Jennifer
Hi, I'm 5'7, 13 years old, and 125 pounds, I'm stronger than most of the kids in my age group (13-14). I was wondering if this bat, the Demarini Vexxum, or the EXOGRID 2 would be the best fit for me? Thanks. WalkingonBoulevard
This depends on what kind of hitter you are. if you are more of a contact hitter, I would suggest going with a two piece bat like the S2 or the Vexxum. These two bats are very similar and will perform just about the same. However, if you are more of a power hitter, I would go with a one piece bat like the EXOGRID 2.
Jennifer
I am 5'5'' 150 lbs and 14. What bat is better for me the S2 or XL2? middle school bball
Well, that depends on whether you want a balanced or an end loaded bat. These bats will perform the same. However, the XL2 has an end loaded feel to it and the S2 is a very balanced bat.
Jennifer
Which Easton bat that is out on the market would you recommend? Price is not a factor, but it would be nice if it were cheaper. I just want a bat with good pop and even balance throughout. Matt
I would probably recommend any bats from Easton's new Power Brigade series. The S3 and the XL3 are going to be the lowest priced out of that series are very good bats. These bats are some of our top selling bats and are definitely worth the investment.
Jennifer
What are the similarities between this Easton S2 and the Easton Omen? mike
The Easton Omen has a composite handle and barrel, while the S2 has a composite handle and an alloy barrel. Both bats are pretty balanced as well.
Jennifer
Is this bat's sweet spot small? Wes
No. The BB11S2 has a good size sweetspot with excellent pop.
Tyler
I am 6'1 about 160, I have fast hands, I can be a contact hitter and I can hit for power. Would this bat or the Xl2 be better? Wes
If you have fast hands with above average swing speed, the XL2 may be a better option for you as it is designed for players with above average bat speed and strength.
Tyler
I am a contact hitter, usually batting lead off. I want a balanced bat with good pop. What would be the best option between the Exogrid 2, Omaha, Demarini CF5, or this? Will
Two-piece bats like the Easton S2 BBCOR are great for contact hitters. The Easton S2 BBCOR will be the most balanced of all the bats listed above.
Kara
I'm 5'2" and 95 lbs. in high school and a contact hitter. What would be the best bat for me? nick
For your size and hitting style, I recommend a 29" 26oz., two-piece BBCOR bat.
Derek H.
I had an easton speed before and really liked it. I am a gap hitter and bat leadoff. Which bat would be better, this one or the S1? Max R
If you really like the Stealth Speed, I would recommend the S1. Like the Speed, the S1 is a two piece all composite bat.
Tyler
I am a power hitter but have the Easton S2. Will I still be able to hit 300-350 foot homeruns like I did last year? wolfie
Power hitters typically prefer one-piece bats, and the Easton S2 is a two-piece hybrid with a composite handle and alloy barrel. You'll still be able to reach the fences, but the S2 won't be as stiff as a one-piece bat and you'll lose a bit of bat head control.
Derek H.
I am a power hitter that uses bat speed and quick hands to generate most of my pop. Would I be better suited with the S series or the XL? Danny
A good choice for you is any of the XL series bats as these have extended barrels, more end loaded feel and designed more for power hitters.
Kris
I'm 13 years old, weigh 85 lbs, and I'm 5'2". What length and weight should I get? Matt
Based on your height and weight I would suggest a 29 inch bat. If you need more help in trying to find the right size of bat for you, feel free to use our bat coach feature located on our website.
Jennifer
I'm 13, 87 lbs, 5'2", and a contact hitter. Should I get the S2 or S3 and in what length and weight? Matthew
If you are a contact hitter, I would suggest going with the S2. The two-piece design of this bat will probably better suit your hitting style. Based on your height and weight, I would also suggest going with a 29 inch bat.
Jennifer
Would you recommend the Easton S2 or the RIP-IT Prototype? I'm a contact hitter but I've been doing pretty well with one piece bats. I've never used a two-piece bat. Cow
Contact hitters normally use a two piece bat, however there is no rule that says you can't use a one piece. The Easton S2 BBCOR will be more balanced than the RIP-IT Prototype, which has a slightly end loaded feel.
Kara
Does the BB11S2 have the lowest M.O.I. out of all of the BBCOR bats? Batsball
Unfortunately, not all bats are tested for MOI and if they are, that information is not always released by the manufacturer. However, the Easton S1, S2 and S3 are 3 bats that would have some of the lowest MOI ratings on the market.
Tyler
Would the S2 or the Marruci Black be better for a mainly contact hitter? Reid M
The Easton S2 BBCOR and the Marucci Black are two-piece bats, great for contact hitters. Both are excellent, balanced bats with a lot of pop. You really can't go wrong with either one.
Kara
What is the real difference between the S2 and the S3? Willie
The difference between the Easton S2 and the Easton S3 is that the Easton S2 is a two-piece hybrid design, which means it has a composite handle and aluminum barrel. The Easton S3 is a one-piece fully aluminum design. Here is a link to take a closer look. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
I'm 13 years old, I'm 5'4'', I have a great swing speed . I was wondering which bat should I get? the Easton S2 or the Easton XL2. I can hit the ball good but I hit it in the non sweet spot most of the time. Buckey
Both the Easton S2 and the Easton XL2 would be great options for you. The S series is built more to enhance bat speed, whereas the XL series is designed to have an extended barrel . Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
Does this bat have a durability issue? Mr. Marucci
The Easton S2 is covered by Easton's full 12 month manufacturer's warranty.
Tom
Is there an issue with the S2? I was leaning toward this bat since my son is a contact hitter and not a power hitter. The S3 seems to be more for power hitters. bball
Both are balanced bats designed for contact hitters. The Easton S2 will have more flex in it because it is a two-piece bat compared to the Easton S1 which is a one-piece.
Damon
Is it worth getting a two peice bat like the Easton S2? Manny
The Easton S2 is great for hitters looking for a flex feel at contact, and two-piece bats are good for reducing vibration as well.
Tom
I am 6 feet tall and 155 pounds. What size bat would you reccomend for me? kay
I would recommend a 33" model. See our sizing chart if you need more help. http://www.justbats.com/bat-resource-guide/
Damon
I'm 5'7" 145 pounds. I have always been a contact hitter, whether it's getting the ball down for a bunt or getting on by singles or putting the bat on the ball, basically a number 2 batter. In the S Series what bat would be best recommended for my kind of ball player? Along with the size length. Johnny
For that type of player, I would recommend the Easton S2. A 32" bat is suggested for your particular height and weight.
Nick K.
Would the S2 or the S3 be better fit for an contact hitter with some power? And will the bats last more then a year? vistar
Both the Easton S2 and the Easton S3 are bats with great weight distribution which is good for contact hitters. The main difference is that the Easton S2 is a two-piece hybrid design (composite handle/aluminum barrel) and the Easton S3 is a one-piece fully aluminum bat which is good for providing a little extra power. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
How large is the sweet spot on the Easton S2 compared to the S1? waynesboroindians!!!
The Easton S2 and the Easton S1 will have the same barrel size. The S2 has an aluminum barrel and the S1 will have a composite barrel.
Tom
I'm getting the S2 or the XL2. I'm mostly a contact hitter but I do supply some power also. Which bat do you think would be best for me? I'm also 5'10" and 170lbs. What size bat do you think would be best for me? agrim3759
If you are mostly a contact hitter the Easton S2 is the better bat for you as it is more balanced. Given your height and weight a 33" - 34" bat would be best.
Damon
Right now I have the Xl2 in 34 inches., I am 6'1" and 190 pounds. I don't get a fast enough swing speed with it. I am looking to get a new bat and go with either the s2 or Cf5. Or should i stick with the xl2 and get something shorter? Mack
Based on your height and weight, a 33" Adult BBCOR model is recommended. I would suggest the S2. It's similar to the XL2, but with a much more balanced swing weight for quicker bat speed.
Tyler
I used this bat all season and liked it, but was wondering which bat in the speed series is best for a contact base hit hitter? Joe
All three bats in the Speed Series will work great for contact hitters. Most contact hitters prefer two-piece bats, so you could consider the Easton S1 or the Easton S2. Here is a link to compare all the bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
I am in high school I am 5,4 about 140, and i am a line drive hitter what size do you really recommend me on this Easton S2? tony
Based on your height and weight, a 31" Easton S2 is recommended.
Tyler
My son is 15 - 5'6" 178lbs very fit. He has quick hands and a lot of power. Hit a lot of doubles and triples and one home run this year. He swings a 32" TPX EXO. But hit his only home run with a 33" Marucci Black. What type and length bat would he need? Texas
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 32". If he had quite a bit of power the Easton XL2 BBCOR would be an excellent choice.
Kara
I'm A 5'11 200lb power hitter, is the s2 the right bat for a power hitter? Meat
If you're a power hitter with good strength and swing speed, I would recommend the XL2 over the S2, as the XL2 has an endloaded swing weight that is great for strong hitters.
Tyler
Does the seaston s2 bbcor need break in? jax
The Easton S2 has an alloy barrel and will not require a break-in period.
Tyler
Is this bat good for me? I am 95 lbs and 5'3. I am going to 8th but don't want to have to buy another bat in high school. jacob
Yes, the Easton S2 would be a great option for you because the weight is distributed very evenly throughout the bat making it feel very light which will increase your bat speed.
Tom
I was wondering my friend got the easton s2 and i have great bat speed would the xl2 be better for me? kc
If you have above average swing speed and strength, then the XL2 would be a great option due to it's endloaded feel.
Tyler
Does this bat or the 2013 Voodoo hit better? lfree
The Easton S2 and the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo are both very high performing bats with a lot of pop. They are going to be very similar as far as performance goes. The S2 will be more balanced and the Voodoo will be slightly end loaded.
Nick
I'm about 5'2 and 100lbs and I'm 13. I might be interested in buying the S2. Is that a good choice and what size should I get? Billy
The Easton S2 is a great bat with a balanced swing weight. Based on your size, a 31" model would be recommended.
Tyler
Out of the Easton bats which is the best for power hitters? Baseball.nickwhite
The Easton XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) are all designed to be end loaded with very large sweetspot. They made these bats with power hitters in mind.
Tom
Whats the pop like on the S2 and XL2 compared to last years Surge? derek
The Easton Surge, Easton S2, and Easton XL2 all feature the THT100 alloy in the barrel so the pop in all 3 bats will be very comparable.
Tom
I am both a contact and a power hitter going into Babe Ruth, and we have to use BBCOR. Should I choose the Easton XL2 or the S2? dorcelfin
The Easton S2 is going to be better for you to use.
Noah
does this make a ping sound drew
This is going to have a pinging sound from the alloy barrel, but may be slightly dampered from the composite handle. Here is the link to view more details on this model. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s2-bbcor--bb11s2-adult/14438/?pa_source=justbats&pa_campaign=was&pa_medium=badges&pa_content=easton-s2-bbcor--bb11s2-adult
Derek
Reading the reviews, a LOT of people had problems with this bat breaking. Has the S2 currently listed for sale on the Justbats website been updated/fixed, or is the same exact bat that is described as easy to break? JKS
Easton has made adjustments to the 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR model. They have upgraded the composite materials in the handle for better durability.
Kara
I am 5'10" & ~140, I look at myself as a contact hitter with power. I have good bat speed & I have used the -3, 32" Marucci Cat5 for about a year and I have done well with it. I am looking to switch to the power brigade series and I am wondering which one I should get? Jake
If you have above average strength and swing speed, the XL3 would be recommended because it is also a one-piece bat like the Cat 5 and it has an endloaded feel. If you have average to below average strength and swing speed, the S3 would be recommended because it is also a one-piece bat like the Cat 5 and it has a balanced feel.
Tyler
I'm about 5'8" 130 lbs. and have the Nike MC2. I usually have very good bat speed but its not as good with the MC2 (32/29), but I did pretty well with it though. Would this model give me the same pop but a little lighter swing weight? fval
The Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult bat features a balanced and light swing weight. It will be comparable to the Nike MC2 since both are two-piece hybrid construction.
Aubrey
What length and weight baseball bat do I need? I'm 14 years old, 117 lbs. and 4' 5" tall. Contact Hitter
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 30" 27 oz. model. For more information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
What length and weight baseball bat do I need? I'm 14 years old, 117 lbs. and 5' 5" tall. Lightning4
Based on your height and weight, a 31" model of the Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 would be recommended.
Tyler
I am a little worried about buying the S2 after hearing about how much they break. Would a 2012 still be under warranty? Kevin
The Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 is covered under a 12 month manufacturer's warranty, beginning from the date of purchase.
Tyler
I am looking for a bat similar to the easton sv12 is this like it, if not is there any bat on the market that is like it ( bbcor )? nate
The Easton SV12 was a balanced two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Easton S2 will be very, very comparable as it also has a light swing weight and is a two-piece hybrid design.
Tyler
I'm 5'7, 110 pounds. I hit with more power than most people within 10 pounds of me. I know the S2 is more balanced, but would i get a little more pop out of the end loaded XL2? tyler2133
That depends on your swing speed. If you have above average swing speed with good power, then I would recommend the XL2 as you will probably be able to generate more power with it's endloaded design.
Jeff
I'm about 6' and weigh about 125 lbs. What size would you recommend? Jay
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" 29 oz. model in the Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult bat. For more information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
Which Speed series bat would be recommended for a hitter with below average bat speed? 7
The Easton S1, S2, S3 and S4 all have light swing weights making them great options for hitters with below average swing speed.
Tyler
How do you break this bat in? Kolyn
The Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult does not require a break in period. Only bats with composite barrels will require a break-in period.
Kara
What is the difference between the 2012 Easton S2 and the 2013 Easton S2? dog
The 2013 S2 features a new composite in the handle to further reduce vibration and sting.
Tyler
I was really thinking about buying this bat but i have heard about it breaking what happens if it breaks in half ? Ang
The Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 is covered under a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. This means if it breaks within one year of your purchase, Easton will replace it for you.
Tyler
I'm 5'10" & 185 Lbs. I'm a contact hitter, and I lean towards power, but also have a fast bat swing. I can't decide if I should get this in a 33"/ 30 oz. or a XL series bat. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Chauncey
The Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult is a two-piece bat, making it ideal for contact hitters with good bat speed. The Easton XL Series bats are end-loaded and are good options for power hitters.
Marcus
What is difference between BB11 and BB13? Nikki
The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult features upgraded materials in both the barrel and the handle. It also comes with a 400 day manufacturer's warranty.
Marcus
I'm a 5'5" 115 contact hitter, fast hands, like inside pitches. which bat would be more suited to me? the speed s1, s2, or s3? Rico
We recommend 2 piece bats for contact hitters, so the Easton S1 BBCOR or the Easton S2 BBCOR would be a great option. The decision would be up to your preference on materials. Both the Easton S1 and the S2 come with a composite handle. The S1 has a composite barrel whereas the S2 has an alloy barrel.
Justin R
My son is 14 years old and will play in Pony League this year. Last year he used an Easton S2 that was 32" in length and only 22 oz. He has a slow swing therefore he needed a light bat. He must use a BBCOR bat now. What do you recommend? It seems like a 33" will be the correct length, but I am afraid he won't be able to swing a heavy 30 oz bat. Kyle Patrick
I would recommend getting the Easton S2 in a 32" 29oz. bat his year. It is going to be a little heavy for awhile, but he really has no choice but to go with a heavier bat.
Noah
Which bat has a lighter swing weight this bat or the 2012 S3? Joe
The Easton S2 and the Easton S3 are going to have the exact same swing weight.
Noah
My son complains a lot about his hands stinging. What would be the best bat for him to reduce that, the Easton S1 or S2? Which bat has more pop? Mike
Both the 2013 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB13S1 Adult bat and the Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult bat are two-piece designs and help reduce vibration in the handle. The Easton S1 has a composite barrel whereas the Easton S2 has an alloy barrel, they will be comparable in terms of pop.
Aubrey
What bat do you think is better the 2012 S2 or the 2013 S2? Meat
Both the 2012 and 2013 Easton S2s are going to be very close to the same. The 2013 just used a new SIC composite in the handle, but both bats will flex equally.
Noah
I am thinking about getting the Easton S2, but I am considering bat speed. Which out of the speed series has the best bat speed? Centerfield#5
The Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult is balanced like the other Easton speed series bats. Therefore, bat speed will be the same between the bats.
Frank
How does this bat compare to the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR? Talking about the swing speed, flex, and pop. RRYDAWG
The Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult and the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR will both have great pop. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo will be stiffer and more end loaded than the Easton S2 BBCOR.
Kara
I play jv baseball and i'm looking to buy this bat. I'm 5'9 and about 120. I like the S2 aluminum barrel, but would you recommend the all composite S1? Which would you say has more pop? donte
The Easton S2 BBCOR is a great bat, but comparing it to the S1 the S1 is going to be the higher performing bat. The S2 will gradually decline in performance with ever hit and the S1 will stay at its peak performance until it breaks.
Noah
My son is moving up to 15u Babe Ruth. He's 13, 5' and 105. Would you recommend the S2 for him? MoeMan
It all comes down to personal preference, but the Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 is a great two-piece hybrid bat with excellent balance and good pop. It would be a good choice for your son.

I am going into Conie Mack for the first year and i am in between a power and contact hitter. I don't know to either get the XL1 or the S1 or possibly S2. I prefer composite bats. Chase
Unless you are a pure power hitter, I'd recommend sticking with the S series. The Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult features a half and half design, so if you're a big fan of composite the S1 may be more for you.
Kevin
Between the S1 and S2 which bat would have more pop? matty
The Easton S1 and S2 will have the same amount of pop. After you break-in the S1 it will stay at its' peak performance longer than the S2 will though.
Noah
I am 13 years old and am trying to decide between the Easton S2 BBCOR or the Easton S4. Which one is better? Brian H
The Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult bat is a two-piece hybrid design with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Easton S4 BBCOR: BB11S4 Adult bat is a one-piece alloy design. Both are very balanced models and are great options.

I am a freshman and was wondering if coming from a Marucci Black that was a 31" 28 oz. and then going to an Easton S2. what is the difference and should it be better? Anthony F
Actually, both bats will be very similar. I feel there is more pop with the Easton S2.
Chad M.
Is the S2 or S3 more balanced? Eric
The Easton S2 BBCOR and the Easton S3 BBCOR will have the same balance.
Robert
Will this bat come back in stock in a 32" 29 oz. at the same price? eric
Unfortunately, the Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult bat is on closeout and we will not be getting anymore 32" 29 oz. bats back in stock.

I've seen a lot of reviews saying that the connection has broken on two-piece models of ALL brands of BBCOR bats, not just Easton. So, I'm hesitant to buy an S2. The S3 looks like the same bat but it's one-piece. Is there any benefit to getting a two piece, or am I better off with an S3? CC
The main advantage for a two-piece bat is to reduce vibration and sting on mishits. Two-piece bats like the Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 will also have more flex during your swing, and will create more whipping action at contact. For hitters with average or below average power, this additional flex often translates in to a little more pop, but the choice really comes down to the preference of the player.
Tyler
Is the S2 stiff flex stiffer than the regular S2? jk
Easton only produces one version of the S2 BBCOR model, which features regular flex.
Tyler
I'm reading a lot that the bat breaks at connection. And I understand that they will replace the bat within the warranty time but what happens if bat breaks again? I was told that they only replace bat one time. Could you shed some light on that? Harold
There were some durability issues with the 2012 Easton S2 BBCOR. However, the 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR has upgraded composite material in the handle for better durability.
Kara
I'm a 6'1" 220 lbs. power hitter. Would you recommend me buying this in a 34" 31 oz. model? homerunking_20
A 34" Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult would be the perfect size for you.
Kevin
The rubber CXN piece is coming off, does it affect the bat and should I send in for a new one? Eric
The rubber piece over the bats connection piece does not really do anything. You can send it in for a warranty replacement, but I would save it for something that completely ruins the bat.
Noah
Is the new S2 different from the old one and I feel that the old S2 is top heavy, but is the new S2 more balanced? roadrunner 98
The 2013 Easton S2 features new composite in the handle which makes it a bit more durable. The balance on the 2012 and 2013 Easton S2 models will be very comparable.
Aubrey
Is that bat a drop 10 (-10)? Cyrus
The Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult bat features a -3 length to weight ratio. The 2013, model that is a -10, is the SL13S210 .
Mac
My son is 5'5" and 113 pounds. Which bat size is good for him? Gladys
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 30" Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult.
Kara
I'm 18 years old and 5'8", 170 lbs. I've been using a 33" bat since little league and currently have a S2. I'm going to buy a XL3 next baseball season, should I stay with a 33" or go to a 32"? Corey
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 33" BBCOR model. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
I just bought this bat at a local Sports Authority. I'm wondering is this will last me through my school ball in April and then my tourney team in the summer? Tdlburg
The Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult is a very durable model. The lifespan of a bat depends on how well you take care of the bat. If you maintain this bat well, you should have no problem getting it to last through the summer.
Justin R.
Is the Easton S2 BBCOR 2012 model a balanced bat? Jake
Yes, the 2012 Easton S2 BBCOR model has a balanced swing weight.
John
What is the coldest temperature you can safely use the S2 in? Garrett
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the Easton S2 BBCOR (BB11S2), in temperatures below 55°F (13°C). In those temperatures, the ball becomes much more dense and could damage or shorten the useful life of your bat. Composite can crack, and alloy can dent, so neither material is proven to be better in cold weather, unfortunately.
Mac
Can you compare this bat and the XL2? james
The Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB11S2) and the Easton XL2 are both going to be two piece hybrid designs. The difference is the Easont XL2 is going to have an end loaded weight distribution designed for power hitters. The Easont S2 is going to have a balanced weight distribution designed for contact hitters.
