Description

DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBD2352010

With an incredibly light feel and effortless power, the Voodoo One is back and determined to cement itself as the Gold Standard of BBCOR Baseball Bats!

Bat Benefits

The Voodoo One has been one of the most sought-after BBCOR bats over the past few years, and for a good reason!  DeMarini once again calls upon their innovative X14 Alloy material to construct the Voodoo One Gold. Due to the material's lightweight feel, DeMarini has been able to deliver a powerful one-piece bat that can be swung by players of all hitting styles.  To increase barrel performance and durability, refinements were performed on the Tracer End Cap to include ultra-stiff composite materials.  DeMarini has also reinforced the knob with composite materials for insanely high swing speeds.

The Voodoo One Gold sports one of the coolest designs we have ever seen on a bat, as well!  The gold background features a collection of diagonally-placed DeMarini logos which serves as a canvas “Skully” - the brand's iconic imagery that first appeared on the earliest Voodoo’s!

Available in sizes ranging from 29” to 34”, hitters of all types can add the DeMarini Voodoo ONE Gold to their bag to begin playing mind games on opposing pitchers!

One game J's dad Parent

Pros: I bought this bat for my son. He hit pretty well with it but was battling a groin issue so the jury is still out for him. He is a Sophomore, college baseball. In a intra squad game, he let a couple other players use it. The Senior that used it doubled down the LF line fist time using it, it was an arcing double that one bounced the fence. Next time up, he blasted one had to be 400 feet plus, it's still in flight haha. And two other kids had nice line drives with it. Seems like a great bat so far

Cons: none so far but I gave 5 on all categories not knowing durability or fell or vibration but from what I saw for now, it deserves a 5 overall rating.

So far so good Matt Parent

Pros: Feels light. Lighter than boy's drop -5 Glitch Looks awesome. My "skinny" kid moved from 12U 30/22 to a 30/27 in 2 months. He used a 30/25 for those 2 months. Now to 14U and if given the choice, he'd still pick this over the -8 Zen or -5 Glitch.

Cons: I have nothing negative to say.

Broken Knob D3 College Player Player

Pros: Really good one-piece alloy bat in terms of swing weight and power. Hits the ball far when you barrel it on the sweet spot.

Cons: I barely got any use out of my Voodoo One before the knob came off. Durability is bad!!! I have other friends this happened to as well. We are all college players, and we can't rely on our Demarini bats to last through a season.

It just looks cool Ky Player

Pros: It’s good looking a little bizarre but it’s cool finally a change from the basic red, black, yellow finish. Light, it’s just light. Pops like any other overpriced bat to be honest.

Cons: It’s comes around fast which isn’t great for me personally, it’s nice for those that need it but it doesn’t balance out for me. I personally luck out on the price due to an employee discount, I’m able to cut down majority of those numbers, where as anyone paying full price might be disappointed.

Pros: It’s a good bat for 3-6 months

Cons: It’s only good for 3-6 months and then it breaks. You won’t be able to get a replacement until the following year’s model is released and that one will break in 60 days. Speaking from experience. DeMarini should be charging half because you’ll need 2 bats per season.

Buyer Beware KC Parent

Pros: The bat is hot...no doubt about it. Exit velo consistently 3-4 mph higher than with Easton HYPE Comp - same length and weight. For a point of reference, my son's EV's hover between 87 and 89 on barreled balls.

Cons: BUT...after two weeks - the knob is about to fall off of the bat. I need to point out that this was not due to capping the ball or gross mishits. The end cap and knob look like they did when it came out of the box. Also, he has only hit leather baseballs, no crappy yellow pitching machine balls. There is NO EXCUSE for this to happen to a $400 bat.

Pros: Good pop when not broken.

Cons: Bat went dead after on 30 days. Tapped knob and bat head on the ground and heard vibration rattle. Compared it to another Voodoo One, and that bat didn't have the vibration sound. Son hit line drive and it barely made it to SS. Took to cages the next day and bat was completely dead... weird sounds with ball contact... Son switched bats and saw tremendous difference. Poor Quality J. Sander Parent

Pros: The staff at JustBats were professional and prompt with their customer service in working through issues with the DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR bat. We did not have the bat long enough to give it a fair rating on feel, pop and vibration.

Cons: Purchased DiMarini Voodoo BBCOR bat for my son who is a freshman in high school. When the bat arrived, it had a defect on the knob and we returned it. JustBats did a great job getting the bat exchanged and we received the replacement in a couple of days. After three weeks of practice and one game the knob on the replacement bat fell off. I've purchased 20+ bat over the last 20 years and I've never seen such a defect with a particular model. JustBats did a commendable job handling this issue. Unfortunately, this experience will be a factor when considering the purchase of future DiMarini models.

Great while it lasts KC Parent

Pros: Great bat - while it's in one piece. Been through 2 warranty replacements - two broken knobs - the first one after 1 week of use - and now the third bat is vibrating whenever the bat lands on the ground (after getting hit, etc...) and has completely gone dead. EV's dropped nearly 10 mph and the bat sounds awful. Sending it back and hoping for yet another replacement...we'll see.

Cons: Not a matter of "if" the bat will break...it's most definitely a "when" the bat breaks

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
