Description

DeMarini The Goods BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXGIC22

Behold the bat that all power hitters will be clamoring to hold! The Goods BBCOR is back again and ready to bop baseballs beyond outfield fences.

Bat Benefits

They have built it in the two-piece, hybrid (alloy barrel and composite handle) design that power hitters have come to trust for many years. Specifically, the barrel is built with X14 Alloy that features the most consistent barrel walls possible. This material has been designed especially with power hitters in mind.

And don’t gloss over the connection point of the bat. DeMarini is once again using their Direct Connection point which should allow for a nice and solid feel at contact with a baseball (almost like a one-piece bat). Power hitters really enjoy this connector piece because it allows them to feel like all of the power that they put into the swing also gets put into the baseball. They get these power advantages all the while the connection piece limits the vibration that can get to their hands on a miss-hit.

Lastly, the bat will display a barrel-loaded feel that is going to be specifically enjoyed by batters who can put a real power charge into a baseball. If you are more of a contact hitter and are looking to place the ball strategically all over the field, you might pass up on this one.

Warranty

DeMarini is ready to help customers who need assistance with their top-of-the-line baseball bats. If you got this bat from JustBats and a warranty issue arose on it within twelve (12) months from the date of purchase, please let JustBats know. Or Bat Experts are trained in warranty knowledge and will be happy to assist with getting you the information needed to reach DeMarini and get a warranty replacement bat (If a warranty replacement for the original bat is obtained through DeMarini, that warranty replacement bat will carry a 3-month warranty with DeMarini | Until now, warranty replacement bats carried no warranty).

Broke in three weeks Mark Parent

Pros: Looks good and very popular. Did not own it long enough to rate the performance.

Cons: Purchased the 33 inch Goods bat. Traveled almost 100 miles roundtrip to make the purchase because my son had to have it. Within 3 weeks and only a few uses in the cage the handle collapsed into the barrel. Sent it back to Demarini at my expense for shipping. Received a $400.00 voucher for a bat that costs $399.99. I now have to eat the tax and shipping for a replacement bat which is no longer in stock. Very disappointed with the quality of this bat. Heard from others that the handle collapsing into the barrel is a common issue so beware.

Demarini, horrible service dept JD Player

Pros: Great bat, but only got 1 weeks usage out of a custom ($450) bat .

Cons: Broke in 1 weeks usage. Have been getting the run around from Service Dept. Won't answer emails or keep you waiting on the phone forever. Waiting over 3 weeks now, since they approved a replacement. No contact what so ever. DO NOT buy Demarini: 'Goods' 2 pc or Voodoo 1. Horrible durability issues. Our college team is returning them in bunches.

HANDLE CONNECT BROKE AFTER 15 HITS! EPIK1 Parent

Pros: None

Cons: DEMAINI IS AWARE that there is a design flaw. Read the reviews on their site. The worst are the stories of replacing the first bat only to have a second bat do exactly the same thing. Those people complain that Demarini sent a replacement for bat 1 but refused to replace bat 2 after the exact issue happened again. I am disputing the charge on my card since Demarini refuses to refund money. I am citing flawed material and design for the return. They better be glad no one has been injured yet. Sad to see them ruin their own brand by not fixing the design and doing the customer right.

Great bat. Worth the money. David Gallegos Parent

Pros: 14U player..31 drop 3 . Great pop . Nice sweet spot. Bought it for my son 5 months ago and it’s still going strong . He’s a contact hitter and I feel this bat has helped him . Batting average is up. The transition to a more end loaded bat was not a factor. I would argue it’s made him a better hitter.

Cons: No cons . The only thing after 5 month the grip needs to be replaced, but that’s normal wear and tear.

Pros: Good Pop Model still going strong.

Cons: My son had 2 of these bats break in just a few months. They both collapsed. First collapsed within 2 months. Did not make it 1 season. Second bat collapsed in 2 weeks. Did not even get a game in. Demarini will warranty 2 times. 3rd bat they send you they will stamp no warranty on the bat. They have known defects in their bats and they did not stop selling them or look to try and fix the issue. Buyer Beware

The GOODS ! WOW you will NOT be disappointed ! Thomas Parent

Pros: Son is 14, last year was 13, standing 5'09 about 175....swung is ALL season inside, outside, warm, cold, didnt matter...it just flat out hit BOMBS! Period! HUGE sweetspot, absolutely NO mishits, NO stings, and even bad hits still travel. Can say enough ( yeah a tiny bit heavy,) BUT it hits like no other bat. XTREMELY happy ! played over 100 games, spring to late fall in NYS weather very shaky at times from 38-95 degrees

Cons: Really None for us, it just get alot of discoloration like pit marks on barrel due to hits PS dont use bat weight ring and smash the handle on ground to remove....telescoping barrel issues solved....one would think any 2/3 piece would not hold well doing that anyway.

Flawed Carrie Hartley Parent

Pros: It is a bat- can't review any pros as it broke after 5 at-bats.

Cons: This bat has a flaw at the handle. The end cap on the handle is plastic and breaks off easily. My son's handle nub fell completely off after 5 at bats. Another kid on his team has the same bat and the end cap is also broken, but not as badly as my son's. For this price, Demarini should fix this issue. Also the customer service at Demarini is poor. We used the warranty and they don't refund the cost of shipping and tax. We had to pack up and send the bat to Demarini for "warranty assessment", which was. hassle-- could have sent an emailed picture to see a broken piece of plastic. Also Demarini has none of the bats in my son's size since they sent them all to retailers, so now we can't even use the $400 "voucher" they gave us. My son is in season and doesn't have a bat. Should have just retuned it to the retailer since we had it for about 3 weeks.

"The Goods" Ian Player

Pros: I am 14 Years old, 5' 8", 175 lbs and I can swing this very well. Your hands never hurt on miss hits and when you square it up perfectly the ball flies. It is a lot lighter swinging than I thought it would be. I recently swung the Stinger Missile 2 and the transition from a lighter bat to the goods was very easy. It also feels like you can't miss the barrel.

Cons: None so far other than they tend to be more of a fragile bat fragile.

Excellent BBCOR Bat for Highschoolers DBLJ Coach

Pros: The Goods is an end loaded with a lot of pop. One of the top 3 BBCOR bats out there in our opinion. Watch any of the SEC college teams and the majority are swinging The Goods. We have a couple (32/29 & 33/30) of these on our high school team and no issues with them at all. If your player likes an end loaded bat, then this is a great choice.

Cons: Not a balanced bat. This is designed more for power hitters and not easy for contact hitters to swing. I'd suggest a more balanced BBCOR like the Atlas or CATX for contact hitters.

The Cat9 Connect and The Goods are both going to feature an end loaded swing feel. The bats should swing pretty similar, so if he is ready to move up an inch and an ouce, then the only difference he should feel would be the added weight since the distrobution of the weight is not changing.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
