Description

New for the season is the DeMarini CFX series! One of the best softball bats is back and better than ever. DeMarini is driven by innovation and strives to improve year after year. This series pushes the limits of technology to create the lightest swinging, highest performing fastpitch softball bat to date. The proven Paraflex composite material makes up each bat to deliver 22% better durability, precise weight distribution, and premium pop right out of the wrapper. A half and half, two-piece design dampens negative feedback in the hands during off-center hits while simultaneously increasing sweet spot performance for more ball flight than ever before. The latest and greatest feature that is exclusive to the CFX series is called the 3-Fusion system. This one-of-a-kind design includes the streamlined 3-Fusion handle along with the lightweight 3-Fusion end cap that optimizes weight for better overall control at the plate. With a sleek design, the 3-Fusion handle provides a dramatic reduction of sting in the hands and a noticeable difference in flex on contact that helps transfer energy into the barrel for maximum performance. DeMarini's RCK knob tops it off, and it is still anatomically designed to fit perfectly into any player's hand. DeMarini: Can't Stop!

This model, the DeMarini CFX fastpitch softball bat (WTDXCFP), features a popular -10 length to weight ratio, an extremely balanced swing weight, and it is the most popular bat in the DeMarini lineup. Drop 10 DeMarini CFX Mike parent

Pros: I bought this softball bat the day it came out and my daughter hit a triple in her first at bat with it. There is absolutely no break-in period and the pop off the CFX is insane. I can't speak to the durability yet but we've never had problems with DeMarini softball bats.

Cons: The price tag is a bit steep but you get what you pay for.

Softball Uncle Michael Perry coach

Pros: EVERYTHING!!! I got this bat for my niece when it first came out in limited release just in time for summer travel ball. 7 tournaments and a trip to 14u Nationals later, that bat is rumbling like a '67 GTO!!! This is her fourth CF and, so far, this is the best of the four. The kid bats 4th and led her team in batting (11-18 .611 2 HR 9 RBI) at Nationals.

Cons: Seeing the sad frustrated face of the opposing pitchers!

Drop 10 - the best! Gene "Junior" Ulrich parent

Pros: The ball flies off this model the moment you take it out of the box! My daughter, a sophomore, credited with a 309' blast which shattered her 2017 model (which Demarini covered for even with bat out of warranty!) and at the High School State Championships cleared the Stadium at UNM - 282'!

Cons: Steep price tag, but worth it in performance...

Pros: bought this bat for my Daughter who is a sophmore and playing travel ball as well as High School ball!! pick the bat up from the delivery driver and gave it to 2 of the first 3 swings were over the left center field fence high in the trees, live pitching from the number 2 pitcher. Bat is amazing, no break in at all. Ready for action straight out of the box, hottest bat I have ever seen! she loves the cfx

OMG!!!! Fast pitch dad parent

Pros: This bat is HOT! My daughter is 12 and currently playing 14u travel ball. She is 5'5 145. When we first started using this bat she was hitting doubles and triples. After 3 months of use from tee work and tournaments, the bat is even hotter. She hit her first over the fence home run, the first base coach told me it went about 230ft.

Cons: NONE!

All I can say is "WOW!" Rocco B Parent

Pros: Bought the DeMarini CFX 32" drop 10 after her Louisville Mendoza 32" -11 broke during a batting lesson. Before she was hitting doubles & triples, and only hit one home run. Now if she DOESN'T hit a homer on every at bat ( and I mean over the fence, not orange cones) it makes me question my parenting skills. She has been playing 12U for the past 2 years and I am thinking about moving her up to 14U for the 2019 season. Did I mention she is only 10 years old? I give all the props to the extra ounce of weight. That's the REAL game changer.

Cons: Broken windows in the parking lot and pitchers crying on the mound.

Have a question about the DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is the major difference between the 2017 and 2018 model? R. E.
The 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) features the new 3-Fusion system while the 2017 DeMarini CF9 softball bats do not. This 3-Fusion system is made up of a new connection piece and a new end cap that both combine to help optimize weight, improve durability, and reduce sting in the hands.
JP
I just purchased this bat. Is there a break-in period needed? Hitting off t's or anything? mike
The 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP is hot out of the wrapper and it really does not need a break-in period. However, we still feel with any composite bat you might benefit from a small break-in period of about 50-100 swings off a tee while rotating the barrel every few swings.
Jason
Is this bat ASA certified? rwine
Yes. The 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP is ASA certified.
Trevor
Does this come in a 18oz? philip
The smallest size in the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) is produced in is a 30" 20 oz.
John
My daughter is 5'2" and around 101 lbs. She currently is swinging the CF9 (31"/20 oz). Will there be a big difference in weight between that bat and this bat in the same length? Shell
Based upon her height and weight, you guys are probably fine staying at the 31" length, but it might be worth thinking about a 32" length (if you want something into which she will grow with tim)e. Overall, if you were to compare a 31"/21 oz size of this 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) to a bat in the 31"/20 oz size, you will probably be able to notice the difference in weight, but I think the increase in weight will be manageable.
Ben
What size do you recommend for 5'2, 100 lb 12 year old? carla
Based on her height and weight we would recommend a 31"/21 ounce 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP).
Carter
My daughter is 5'2 1/2 inches tall and weighs about 107 lbs. Should she be swinging a 32/22? KK
Yes, based on your daughter's height and weight, the most appropriates size to get the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in is 32''.
Tori
My daughter is 12 years old, 5'2'' and 93 lbs. She is currently swinging a 30/19. What do you recommend? T
Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 32" model in the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP. Weight is tough to suggest, but if your player can handle it the 32" 22 oz model is the way to go.
Jason
I am curious about bat size for my 10-1/2 year old daughter (5'6" and 130 lbs). Currently swinging a 32"/22 oz Hope bat. Is a 33"/23 oz size out of the question in regard to size for her? bwforrester
Based upon your player's height and weight, I am thinking that she could certainly consider using a 33"/23 oz size of this 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP). It may be a little long and heavy at the outset, but I think she could grow into the new size with some time and use.
Ben
I have a 5 foot 9 and 1/2 inch 12 year old about 250 lbs., what bat would be good for her? She is the clean up batter on her team. niki
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 34" 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP.
Logan
I have a 5 foot 6, 16 year kid who is about 115 pounds. What bat and bat size would be good for her? leeta
A good size for her is a bat that is 32" in length. The player could go up to 33" if she feels comfortable. This bat should fit your player.
Mick
I am 5 foot 8, 230 pounds. What NSA bat would you recommend for slow pitching? I am looking for power. RAUL
The 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP is designed for women's fastpitch use and not slowpitch softball. As for the correct size to get for slowpitch, this will come down to personal preference. Slowpitch bats will feature a 34 inch length and weight will consist of 25, 26, 27, 28 and 30 ounces. If looking for power we would recommend an end-loaded bat at either 27, 28 or 30 ounces.
Cameron
My daughter is almost 12 yrs old. 4'10" / 135 lbs. Currently uses a CF8 31-21. What size bat should she be using? Also, would you recommend an end loaded bat like the Insane for her age or stay with the balanced drop 10? Thanks! Jake
Based on your daughters height and weight we would recommend a 32"/22 ounce 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP. On the balanced or end loaded, it is more of a personal preference than anything. Since she is already using a balanced bat I would recommend sticking with that.
Carter
My daughter is 13 years old, 5'7" and 130 lbs. What length and weight do you recommend? Derek P
Based on your player's height and weight, I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in a 33"/23 oz. size.
Logan
My daughter is 5'2" and weighs 115 lbs (14 years). She currently used a 30"/20 oz size and a 31"/21 oz size (depending on speed of pitcher). What size of bat would you recommend? Brian Schwartz
Based upon her height and weight, I would recommend going with a 32" length of fastpitch softball bat. If you guys felt ready for it, I might suggest going with this 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) in the 32"/22 oz size. However, if you wanted a 32" bat that was slightly lighter, you could also consider the 2018 DeMarini CFX -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFS) in the 32"/21 oz size.
Ben
My 12 yr old daughter is 5'10" and 170 lbs - would the 34"/24 oz be best for her? John Anderson
Yes, based on her height and weight it is suggested that she uses a 34" bat
Mick
My daughter is 10 years old, 5'6" and about 75 lbs. She is currently swinging a DeMarini 2017 Vendetta 30/18. I was thinking about getting her the 30/20 (based on a chart I saw) as it appears she shouldn't swing a 31 inch until she is 5'1-5'4 tall. Thoughts? randonesia
Based on her height and weight you could certainly get the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in a 31 inch model. This bat though would be 21 ounces and that weight might be too much for her depending on how well she can get 18 ounces through the zone. For more younger players an increase of 1-2 ounces is typically best.
Cameron
My daughter is 5'7 145 lbs. She currently using 33/23 bat. Looking at CFX -10 34/24. Is this the bat we should go with? vonnie
If you are looking to bump up an inch and an ounce, the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) is a good bat to do that with. It has an end cap that allows for better balance so it wont feed so end heavy. Also, it has a 3 fusion handle, and its a two piece allowing for sting reduction and better comfortably.
Mick
What makes this bat different from the 2017 bat? Eddie
The 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP features the 3-Fusion End Cap which helps optimizes weight, control, and overall durability. The 3-Fusion Handle Technology also helps reduces sting and transfers energy back into barrel
Jason
I am about 5"8' and 115 lbs. I have used a 32/22 CF6 vendetta for about 3 years now. I"m looking at the CFX"s, but I was wanting to know what model CFX would be best if I was looking for more power. For example, would endloaded or balanced be better, or what about the Insane? Thanks! Madison
Based off the information you've provided, I would recommend a 33 inch bat. If you are looking for a bat that could generate more power, I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI. Its end-loaded swing weight is designed for power hitters.
Dan
My daughter is 5 ft. 2 and weighs 115. She is 10 almost 11. What size bat do you suggest? softballmom
Based on your daughter's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in a 32 inch model. If you feel she would benefit more from a -11 model based on her age then we would recommend looking at the 2018 DeMarini CFX -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS.
Cameron
My daughter is 14 years old she weighs 90 pounds and is 5 foot 6 inches tall what size bat for her? Hands
Based on her height and weight we would recommend the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in the 32"/22 ounce size.
Carter
My daughter 9 years old, 4'6 and weighs 75 lbs. She is a pretty good power hitter. Which CFX do you recommend and what size? Nick Castleman
I would recommend either a 30" or 31" bat for your player. I would be cautious with an end-loaded bat at her age. However, if you think she can handle it, I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI. If you want a bat that would fit a contact and power hitter, I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP. This bat is the most popular Fastpitch bat in the DeMarini lineup.
Dan
Just curious why only a -10 and nothing available in -11 or -12? I have a 16 year old and twin 13 year olds. I was looking for a little longer bat 33" but to still keep the weight down. Jason
This bat, the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP is a -10 bat. However, DeMarini does make a -11 CFX bat (2018 DeMarini CFX -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS) and would provide you a lighter option to this bat.
Tyler
My daughter is looking for a new bat this year. She is a power hitter but turns a tad too fast so I'm thinking a bit more weight would help that. She is 145 pounds solid athletic build and 5"7". What size would you recommend us getting and would this bat fit those needs? SammySoftball
I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in a 33 inch length. You could also consider the 2018 DeMarini CFX -9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFF in a 33 inch if want a slightly heavier bat.
Dan
My daughter is 10 and is 5'2" 138 lbs. What size/weight bat would you recommend? Looking at either the CFX -10 balanced or the CFX -11. What is the difference between the two bats? Gregg
Based on your daughter's height and weight, would recommend getting the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in a 32 model. For a player that is 10, typically a -11 model like the 2018 DeMarini CFX -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS would be better. The main difference between these two bats is one ounce.
Cameron
Does this bat need broken in? Joe
Since the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP is a composite bat a slight break in of 50-150 swings would be ideal but not necessary as this bat is deemed "hot out of the wrapper."
Cameron
My daughter is 5' & 105 lbs. What size bat do you recommend? D
Based on your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of this 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) in the 31"/21 oz size.
Ben
My 12 year old daughter is 5"10' 165lbs. What size would you recommend? shorty7
Based on your daughters height and weight we would recommend the 34"/24 ounce 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP.
Carter
I am 13 years old, 4'7" and 83 lbs. I play travel baseball, what is the best size for me? PUNKIN
We would probably suggest a 29" length of bat for his height and weight.
Kyle J.
I am 5'5" and 140 punds. I currently have a 32" -10 Louisville Slugger Xeno. I recently broke it after about 1 year and want to look into a DeMarini or Rawlings. Which one would you recommend and what size? I love having great pop and either balanced or end loaded. Megan
I would recommend a 33" bat for your player. Unfortunately, we are out of stock in the 33" of the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP. I would recommend last years model, the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP. This bat features a two-piece, composite design and an extremely balanced feel. The CF9 also features a massive sweet spot with a more responsive barrel.
Dan
My ten year old daughter is 5'2" and 110 pounds. What size bat would you recommend for her? Bat
Based on your player's height and weight, I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) in a 32"/22 oz size.
Taylor
My daughter is 12, just over 5"2 & 105 lbs. For the past 1 1/2 yrs she's been using a 31/20. She has a solid swing and is in ranked in the top 87% for her age group on the HitTrax Analysis system. Would you recommend a 31/21 or 32/22? missbee
Per your daughter's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in a 32 inch model.
Cameron
My daughter is 5"3' and 150 lbs. She has been using 32" (-12) bats which I think is off. What should she be using? Mousemedic01
Based on her height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting this 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) in the 33" length as long as she can handle the 23 oz weight.
Ben
My daughter is 10 years old, 5'0" & weighs 90 lbs. What size bat do you recommend? MM
Given your player's specifications, I would recommend the 31" option of the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP.
Tyler
Does the 2018 Demarini CFX -10 Hope composite softball bat need to be broken in? Angela
The 2018 DeMarini CFX Hope -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFH just like this 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP will require a brief break-in period of about 150-200 hits. You will also want to rotate the barrel about a quarter turn after each 10-15 swings in order to evenly break-in the barrels.
Tyler
How can I select a size on this bat for purchase? I do not see an option. ron
We will only have a 30'' 20 oz left in the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP and that would be on the right side of the page.
Max
How is this bat when it comes to durability and pop? The bat has a pretty hefty price tag and I want to make sure it won't break 2 months after getting it. Alecia martinez
The 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP utilizes 3-Fusion technology to increase the overall durability levels of the bat. Furthermore, you will be covered for the first 12-months with a manufacturer's warranty in the case of a the bat becoming defective.
Tyler
Hi I don"t know what size of bat I would need but I am 5"3 and weight 110-125 I would like to know what bat size I would need Djdjfjfjf
For the size specifications you provided, we would suggest a 32 inch bat. We are currently out of stock in 32" of the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP. However, we do have that size available in the 2019 DeMarini CF Zen -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP19.
Daveron
My daughter is 5ft and is 105lbs 12yr old. She is currently swinging a 30' 18oz bat. What do you recommend she should move up to? Thank you. Nateball
Given your player's specifications, I would recommend a 31" bat and I believe this 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP to be one of the best available options on the market.
Tyler
Is this bat balanced or end loaded? Would you recommend it for a 8yr old? DJ
The 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP has a balanced swing weight. This bat may be too heavy for an 8 year old. Younger players find greater success with -11 or -12 bats, since these are lighter options. You may want to look at the 2019 DeMarini CF Zen -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS19.
Daveron
My 13 year old daughter plays fastpitch softball. She is 5'5 and weighs 150 lb. What is the best selection for her? She currently uses a Louisville Slugger 33" drop 10, it's the teams bat, and I wanted to get her her own personal bat. erica crewdson
At her size, I would agree that the 33" -10 size is right for your player. DeMarini and Louisville Slugger are the two most popular fastpitch manufacturers, and the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP is DeMarini's most well known model, as well as being one of the higher rated fastpitch bats in that size, so this would be a great option for her.
Logan
What is the difference between this bat and the Demarini CFX -10 Insane? I'm trying to decide for my 13 year old daughter. christian
The 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP is a balanced bat, whereas the CFX Insane is end loaded and best designed for power hitters.
Tori
I just recently bought my daughter a Marucci Cat FX Connect -10 and she's very happy with it but I wanted to also try a DeMarini and give her some options and confidence. So I am deciding between this bat and the Insane. Will the Insane improve her hitting power? Also is it good to have 2 different types of bats? For example a balanced bat and a end loaded bat, or will that mess up her swing? christian
It can be difficult to decide whether or not an end loaded option will benefit the players hitting power. Typically players that have a bit more strength benefit from the end loaded option because they can generate the force needed to swing the extra weight. The 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP and other balanced options work great for players looking to gain bat speed, but if you can swing the end load at the same rate it would increase the hitting power. It could be beneficial to have different options of bats to account for the different style of pitch, an example would be switching to an end load for slow pitchers..
Max
Is the only difference between this bat and the -10 "Hope" bat the graphics and the $5 donation? Looking at a 33/23. Mike Rapp
The 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP and the 2018 DeMarini CFX Hope -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFH are very similar bats with the only differences being the grip tape and end cap design. With the 2018 DeMarini CFX Hope -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFH a player will get a stiffer feel on contact.
Cameron
Why is this bat discontinued? DeeDee
Bats become discontinued because they are no longer being made in the factories by the manufacturer. Manufacturer's stop making bats once the newest year models are released, and since the 2019 models are out, the 2018s are becoming discontinued.
Kyle J.
Which bat is comparable to this bat for this year? Edward Heredia
The most comparable bat to the DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP would be the DeMarini CF -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP22.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
