Just enough End Load, but still pretty Balanced Seth Pittman player

Pros: This bat has a little extra load up top, but is by no means a super heavy end loaded bat. It is perfect. When I say perfect I mean, unlike most super high end composites, it doesn't feel weightless. It has a little bit of extra meat on the bone and that extra meat helps me drive through the ball unlike any other bat i have ever swung. Of course I could swing an alloy that is naturally heavier up top, but then I wouldn't get the consistent barrel you find with a composite bat. In combo with the composite handle and connection piece this product is the best BBCOR I have swung so far. I have tried Velo, Mako, Cat6 (that bat is terrible and way too heavy) and many others and I have finally found the product that fits my style of swing best. Most kids will probably like the CF Zen as it is super balanced, but for the 3,4,5 spot hitters...this is your stick.

Cons: I guess the only con is that it cost $450 but my parents bought the bat for me so it's not an issue I have to personally deal with. Just a few extra days cutting lawns earned me the best bat on the market.

Pros: i just recieved this bat and did some bp. without it even being brokenin i was crushing the ball. handle is very stiff feels good. the endload could be a little more but better than the mako xl. great bat from what i can tell

Cons: the price but definitely worth it if you can purchase it.

Great feel and sound Alex S player

Pros: I love the way the ball sounds coming off this bat. I've used a DeMarini CF7 this last year. This bat has a better grip, the end load make if "feel" lighter. This bat has a lot more pop, If you get jammed off the handle, there's no sting with this bat. Noticeable improvement from the CF7. Love the end loading.

Cons: If it was any better it would be illegal.

hot bat. hutch959 parent

Pros: great looking bat. at first, the grip feels really small in your hands but once you we hit some with it, we really liked it. balls come off this bat really well with a good sound. we have a Cf8 also, and this bat is the exact same balance as the 2016 Cf8. We cant really tell if the ball comes off the bat better then the Cf8, but it does sound different. So im assuming the composite structure is different. everytime my son or some other player gets a big hit with it... me and coaches always look at each other and say "thats a hot bat".

Cons: kinda feels weird to me.

Going to need to break in? Coach Ted coach

Pros: Feels good with the tapered handle. No vibration.

Cons: No pop out of wrapper. hitting with my sons nee bat I can immediately tell that this bat needs a break in period. had 2 bats out of the wrapper, the Demarini Zen Balanced Composite and another brand Aluminum. hit about 40 balls with each and the pop just wasnt there with the Demarini as much as the other bat.

After thousands of swings baseball dad parent

Pros: Bought this bat at 32/29 for my son who was going into his junior year. He had his best year hitting at both the HS and travel ball level. A lot of it was the hard work he put in, but this bat helped too. Easy to swing despite the slight endload and only a little vibration. He's not a big kid at all, but he got multiple XBH's and a few dingers. The best part is the bat still has the pop and it looks like it'll have plenty left going into the season. Much better than the Rawlings Velo.

Cons: Price obviously, but it's very durable (Demarini's seem to have this consistently over Easton) and looks like it's got much more than a season in it, even with all those practice and game swings.

This 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) will feature a length of 14.5" from the end-cap to the connection point (I was only able to measure a 32" model, but I think the measurement should be the same on all size options).

What is the break in period? katz baseball
To properly break in the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC), we recommend taking 150-200 swings playing soft toss or off a tee using real baseballs. Begin swinging at 40% power and work our way up to full strength as you get closer to 200 swings.

Carter
I'm 5'11", 145 lbs and in the 7th grade. What size would be best, 32 or 33? ace from Idaho
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model of the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC.
Jason
I was just wondering what that difference was between the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC and the 2017 DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCBC. They look the same. I was wondering what size I need? I am 5'5" 120 lbs and thinking a 32" will be fine so I can grow into it. Clayton
The 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC features a slightly end loaded swing weight, while the CF Zen features a balanced swing weight. Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model. If you are comfortable jumping up to a 32" model then you can.
Jason
I am 5'5" and 130 pounds. Would a 31" or 32" BBCOR bat be good for me? I used a 25 ounce bat last year and was thinking if I went to a 32/29 it might be too heavy for me. todd Galasso
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC.
Jason
My son used the CF8 32" -8 last year and loved it. He is now playing in tournaments that only allow -3 bats. Which make and model is the most comparable to the CF8, and will it give the same results? Jake
The 2017 DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCBC is the most comparable -3 bat to the 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFR. BBCOR bats have a lower bat performance factor than USSSA certified bats, however they are much heavier and the added weight creates more power. Therefore, the performance of these two bats will be very similar.
Angelique
I am 5'8" and 235. What size DeMarini Insane end loaded bat should I get? carson basseball
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 34" model in the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC.
Jason
Does the DeMarini CF Insane have the same swing weight as the DeMarini Voodoo Insane? Wayne
This 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) will probably feature a little lighter swing weight when compared to the Voodoo Insane. Both bats will be end-loaded, but I would say the Voodoo Insane will be more end-loaded overall.
Ben
Does this bat have more pop than the Louisville Slugger Prime 917? johhny baseball
It is tough to definitely answer which BBCOR model will have the most pop on the market. The 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC will be different in design compared to the LS Prime 917 in that it will feature an end-loaded swing weight design. An end-loaded swing weight design bat could potentially allow for more pop as an end-loaded bat will have more mass in a smaller sweet spot; this will allow for a greater barrel whip effect which can potentially facilitate more pop.
Cameron
I am a freshman in high school and I am 6 feet tall. What length of bat should I buy? Nate
Based on your height and age, we would recommend getting a 32 inch bat. If you feel you are strong for your age then a 33 inch bat would be a good choice as well. Do remember through, the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC has an end-loaded swing weight design to it.
Cameron
Will this bat go on sale during Black Friday? nate
The 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC, as well as all other 2017 models of bats, will not be featured in either Black Friday or Cyber Monday specials.
Cameron
I am 5'10' and about 165 lbs. Do you think a 33 inch Demarini CF insane would be the best size for me? bh2833
Based upon your height and weight, we would recommend a 33 inch 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC.
John P.
I am a freshman playing my first year of varsity. Do you think the bat will cause me to be late on the faster pitching? hank
If you are used to swinging balanced feeling bats, then yes, the end-loaded feel on this 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) could initially cause you be late on your swing (especially if you are new to BBCOR bats). However, if you are a power hitter and feel that you will adjust to an end-loaded bat with some use, it would probably still be okay to make a purchase for this bat.
Ben
What is the difference between the Voodoo Insane and CF Insane? siskokid
The main difference between this 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) and the Voodoo Insane is the barrel material. This CF Insane features a composite barrel and the Voodoo features an alloy barrel.
Ben
My son is 13 years old and used the CF8 -5 last year and he is going into a new age group which only allows BBCOR certified bats. He is 5'4" tall and weighs 130 lbs. Which bat would you recommend him using, the CF Insane or Louisville Slugger Prime 917? Nickthebeast3
I would recommend going with the Louisville Slugger Prime 917 over the CF Insane if this is his first time using BBCOR bats, simply because the end loaded swing weight of the CF Insane may be a bit tougher to handle than the balanced swing weight of the Prime 917. All BBCOR bats are -3, so the increased weight combined with an end loaded bat may make that transition slightly more difficult. If he can handle the end loaded swing, then both bats will perform very well/similarly.
Kyle J.
My son is a freshman, 5'8" and 200 pounds; very thick and strong but short arms. What length weight ratio do you recommend? Big man
Based on your son's height and weight, the best size to get the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC in would be a 33 inch 30 ounce model. Since he is a FR, it may be wiser to get a 32 inch bat but he will outgrow this rather quickly (after one season).
Cameron
I'm a 6'0" and weigh 150 lbs .(sophomore) and also have a long wing span. Wonder if this should be considered in selecting bat size as well? Aaron
Based on everything that you have told me I would just recommend going with a 32"/29 ounce bat. The 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) would be a good option top take a look at.
Carter
I used the 31/28 2015 DeMarini Voodoo Overlord last year as a freshman. It felt slightly end loaded. I'm moving up to a 32/29 this year. Will the barrel for the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane be bigger than the aluminum Voodoo Overlord I used last year? HS Soph
The 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC is going to have a bit longer barrel and larger sweet spot since it features a composite barrel instead of alloy.
Logan
Which 2017 DeMarini is the equivalent of the 2016 CF8? I love the CF series and especially the CF8, so want the equivalent. bman
The 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC is a two-piece fully composite bat with an end-loaded swing weight design. With the CF8 series, DeMarini did not produce an end-loaded model that was fully composite. Rather, the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC (alloy barrel and composite handle) was the end-loaded model manufactured in 2016.
Cameron
I'm 14 yrs old, 5'10" and 150#s. I typically bat 3, 4 or 5. Last year I played the Cat6 31/28 with good results. Now that I am older and stronger, I believe I need a bigger bat and I want one with more pop than the Cat6. I can't decide between the CF Zen or CF Insane. As a power hitter which would you recommend (CF Insane or ZEN)and in what size? And will I notice a difference between the CF series and the Cat6? Bob.B
Based on your height and weight and the fact that you are a power hitter I would recommend the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) in the 32"/29 ounce version. Power hitters do benefit from end loaded bats so you might see a difference, but the Marucci Cat 6 is a great bat as well.
Carter
I am a freshman in high school, I am 6 feet tall and weigh 185 lbs. I normally hit 3rd or 4th. Should I get the CF Insane or the CF Zen? And what size should I get? ben b
I would advise going with the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC in a 34" 31 oz size.
Sean
My son is 5'10" and 175 lbs. Bats fifth in the line up; consistent 300-500 batting average. He has always swung DeMarini Voodoo. He was injured last year and needs a new bat. Do you recommend CF model? Your opinion is greatly appreciated. GM
Yes, I would highly recommend the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) for your son.
Carter
My son loves swinging the Easton XL2 BBCOR, would the CF Insane or Voodoo Insane be more comparable? Kahuna
The Easton XL2 had a two-piece hybrid design and it would be more comparable to the Voodoo Insane, as it features the same hybrid design. The 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC features a two-piece fully composite design.
Jason
Does this bat come in a 28/18? Tye
As this bat is a BBCOR model for high school play and above, it only comes in a -3 drop, so it will not be available in a 28"/18oz size.
Kyle J.
I am 5'9" and 185 lbs. Is this the bat for me? abom
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC in a 33 inch model.
Cameron
I am 6'2", and 160 pounds. I am looking to switch from a Mako XL1 to the DeMarini CF Insane. I usually bat three-hole, and am a power hitter. What size would you recommend? Also, I am going to be a freshman next year. kentmurphy
Based on your height and weight, I would suggest a 33" 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC.
Logan
Between the CF Insane or the Marucci Cat 7 Connect, which bat will have a lighter swing weight? Bill
The 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC will have a lighter swing weight feel when compared to the Marucci CAT 7 Connect by about a 0.5 ounce.
Cameron
My son is 16, 6'2" and 210 lbs. What size and model bat would you recommend? He hits 3-5 in the lineup when stroking the ball. Michael
Based on your sons height and weight we would recommend a 33"/30 ounce 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC).
Carter
I already swing the MAKO BEAST since it is already end loaded. Do you suggest for me to just get the end loaded instead of trying to swing a bat that isn't end loaded? ethan
If you are comfortable and like the feel of an end loaded bat then the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC would be a great option. If you aren't feeling comfortable with the end loaded style I would switch to a more balanced option. It is up to you as a hitter.
Max
What is the handle diameter? JD
The handle diameter of the 2017 DeMariini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC is 1''
Max
Which is better: the MAKO Beast or the DeMarini CF Insane in regard to pure hitting power? jordan g
This 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) is made with an end-loaded feel to it (while the MAKO Beast is more balanced). Because of that, I would say that this CF Insane is the more "pure" power hitter bat.
Ben
How much better is this bat than the Prime 917? simba
I would not necessarily say that this 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) is a 100% better bat than the Prime 917. However, if you are looking to get a two-piece, all-composite bat with an end-loaded swing weight; I would recommend this CF Insane over the Prime 917 (the 917 will have a balanced feel).
Ben
I am 5'7 and weigh 125 lbs, would you recommend the CF Zen BBCOR or the CF Insane? I bat 3 hole and cleanup. Jake
Based on your height and weight we would recommend the 31"/28 ounce 2017 DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCBC).
Carter
What is the difference between this and the Voodoo Insane? Cooper N
The 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC is going to be a two piece full composite bat compared to the two piece half and half design of the DeMarini Voodoo Insane.
Cooper
I'm 6 feet tall and 150 pounds. What size do you recommend and would the zen or the insane be better? sba buck
I would recommend a 33'' 30 oz if going with the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC. If you feel comfortable with an End Load bat this is the one for you.
Max
Will DeMarini be coming out with a 2018 model? I'm concerned if we order the 2017 CF Insane, DeMarini will have a newer version and ours would be considered "old." Jacobi
It does appear that there will be a 2018 model of the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC, released later this summer.
Logan
I am a rising sophomore (6' and 150 lbs). I've had great success at the JV and Varsity level with my CF7 (high average and a lot of deep hits in the gaps). Would you recommend the regular Zen or this? SpeedKills
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend a 32" or 33" size of BBCOR baseball bat. If you have been using the CF7 and enjoy the balanced swing feel on that bat, then I would recommend using the 2017 DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCBC) over this end-loaded 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC).
Ben
I am 17 years old. I am 5'11" and 190 pounds. What size would you recommend and in either the Zen or Insane? Also, MAKO BEAST what size and length? Rex
If you prefer an end loaded model then we would recommend getting the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC in a 33 inch model.
Cameron
My son is 13 and has been using a CF-5 for which he loves! But its pop is all but gone. I was looking at all the reviews for the balanced Zen and a lot said they broke them. Kind of scared to spend the money. He is 5'1/2" tall and weighs 130 lbs . Should I go with the Mako instead? MIke
Both the DeMarini CF Insane and the Easton Mako Beast are top of the line models. Both are composite bats as well that need to be broken-in before game use. Both bats would be a great option to go with.
Kyle J.
I am a 5'7" 125 lb. seventh grader, what size would be appropriate? josh
If you are required to swing a BBCOR bat and have experience swing end loaded bats, I would suggest a 31" 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC.
Logan
Some of the CF models were band from USSSA baseball. Is this bat one of them? Allen
The CF ZEN was banned. The 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) is legal.
Mick
I just got a 33" 30 oz. I am a power hitter and used an end loaded bat before. I am 5'7" and 130 pounds, do you think this is the right call? Finny
As a power hitter, an end loaded bat like the CF Insane, is a good option. Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model of the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC. That suggestion is based off your height and weight though. If you are comfortable swinging a bigger heavier bat, then the 33" could certainly work.
Jason
I am 6'4 and 230 pounds, what size and what bat would you suggest that I should be swinging? Tyler
Based on your height and weight we would recommend a 34"/31 ounce 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC).
Carter
My son is 5'3 130 lbs., 9 years old playing in 10U. What is the right size bat for him? Big hitter-big swing. sel
Based on your player's height, weight and age, a BBCOR model, such as the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC would be a bit big for him. Players at his age typically swing a -12 or -10 bat, so I would suggest a 31" 21 ounce bat such as the 2018 DeMarini CF Zen -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: WTDXCBZ.
Logan
Trying to figure out what is ideal for my son. He will be playing varsity ball as a sophomore this next season and has a good amount of pop. He has a tendancy to hit on top of the ball and his bat speed is a little slow. He swings a 33/30 now at 6'2" 190lbs. I am thinking having him use a 32/29. What is your opinion? Just a dad
If your player is currently using an end loaded bat, such as the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC, then I would suggest going with a balanced option like the 2017 DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCBC. If he is already using a balanced bat, then I would suggest dropping down a size, but I would overall avoid using an end loaded bat like the CF Insane End Loaded BBCOR Baseball Bat.

My 8th grader wanted to go BBCOR to prep for high school, and decided this 2017 Insane was the option. Straight out of the wrapper we took this bat to the cages tonight, and it sounded awful, I mean truly awful. "Tinny" and high pitched, like the cheap alloy bats from tee ball /coach pitch days. Did we get a lemon or just needs breaking in? For reference my ear is adjusted to all the Easton's we have been using - XL1s, Makos, other drop 5s Easton. Tough to gauge pop in the cage, but I saw nothing impressive. Panicking, with a tourney this weekend, and for me what was a very expensive investment. Appreciate your input. rooster
The 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC will perform much differently than any bat the player has been using as BBCOR bats are very comparable to that of a wood bat; essentially this metal bat is tuned slightly better than a wood maple baseball bat. This bat will feature a two-piece fully composite construction with an end-loaded swing weight design. With an end-loaded bat a player will have to be more precise when squaring up the ball as these bats tend to have slightly smaller sweet spots when compared to a balanced model; the sweet spot is usually hotter though so when hitting squarely it will have a tendency of traveling further. With any composite bat there typically is a break in that will aid in the bat performing at a higher clip. Anywhere from 100-150 swings should help; soft toss and tee work are the best drills with the player taking roughly 60-70% game like swings.

My son is a freshman and is 6'2" 155 pounds. He is an advanced player and power hitter, but also can hit for average. He used a drop 5 last year and it was 33". Now he has to use BBCOR drop 3. Not sure if I go to 34" knowing he will grow and get stronger or stick with 33 for bat speed. Also, do I go with the end loaded or balanced. Bats are expensive so I don't want to make a mistake. Bill C.
Personally, I would start with a 33" model if he is new to BBCOR bats. A 34" could certainly work, but I think he would need to gain a little weight to make that size comfortable for him, although that could certainly happen given his age. As for end-loaded vs balanced, I wouldn't recommend an end-loaded model until he gets a little bit bigger and stronger. They are intended for power hitters, and for someone new to the -3 weight of BBCOR, I think he will have better results with a balanced model for his first couple years of high school.

I am a 5'5 freshman and 125. Should I be swinging the 32"? I do just fine with Combat Maxum's but I am not sure because of the end load. tony
Based on your height and weight we would recommend a 31"/28 ounce 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC.
Carter
My son loves swinging wood bats. Is this bat similar in feel and balance of wood? If not what would you recommend? joe
The 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC will have a bit more flex and depending on the wood bat could be a bit more top heavy. I would take a look at the Rawlings Velo, the stiffness of the handle makes it feel close to a wood feel.
Max
I am 5'10" roughly 215-220 pounds. What bat and what size do you recommend me to use? bobo
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 33" model. If you want an end loaded bat, the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC is an excellent option to consider.
Jason
If I can sometimes hit for power and contact, should I use this Insane end-loaded bat or the CF Zen balanced bat? tj
A decision would ultimately have to be yours, but if you would consider yourself mainly a contact hitter with occasional power, then my general suggestion would be to forgo this 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) and get the more balanced feeling 2017 DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCBC).
Ben
I am 5'6" and 135 pounds and in 8 months I will be going into high school. I was wondering what size bat I should get. I want a CF Insane because I am a power hitter in the 3 hole. I am currently swinging a 31" Zen, and it is a -5. For the Insane, which size would you suggest? Max
Based upon your height and weight, my general suggestion would be to get this 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) in a 31" or 32" length. If you feel ready for the 29 oz weight, then get the 32" length bat of the CF Insane. However, if you have reservations about the heavier bat, then go with the 31" length bat.
Ben
Will this bat be legal for junior high and high school baseball in 2018? Joe
The 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC will be legal for high school in 2018, and will also be legal in junior high leagues that require BBCOR certified bats.

Reviews on the CF Zen state it breaks very often. The reviews I have read for this bat don't mention its durability. How is the durability of the CF Insane? Rich
If reviews for this 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) have not mentioned a lack of durability, then I would interpret that to mean that there have not been many durability issues for which there needed to be complaints. Although, I cannot make a guarantee on durability, I would say that so far this CF Insane has displayed solid durability.
Ben
I am 5'11", 180 and a freshman. Should I use a 32'' or 33''? J
I would recommend using a 33'' for the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC.
Max
Would this bat be a good fit for a 5'4" 104 lbs 13 year old playing junior high ball? Joe
I would not recommend the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) for Junior High ball as it is a -3 and would more than likely feel quite heavy to your player. Instead I would recommend something like the 31in. 26oz. 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -5 Senior League Baseball Bat (WTDXVB5).
Tyler

The 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC does not feature the USA Baseball as this is a BBCOR model. No BBCOR bats will have the USA stamp on it. As for the 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC, this bat is priced much higher than its 2017 BBCOR counterpart.
Cameron

My son has been using a Demarini Voodoo Raw the last two years and need a new bat. That model has been discontinued so what DeMarini bat performs the closest to the Voodoo Raw? rvr1122
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC is going to be the most comparable option to the DeMarini Voodoo Raw.

I'm used to swinging a VELO. I feel it's too small for me. I was going to get a 33" bat. However, since this bat is end-loaded, would it be better to stay with a 32" or still move up to 33"? DylGlz
If you wish to get this 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC) and have not swung an end-loaded bat before, I would recommend going with the smaller 32" sized bat to begin your use of barrel heavy bats.
Ben
What's better, end loaded or balanced? juliog
There is no evidence that suggests the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC is a better or worse option when compared to its balanced counterpart, the 2017 DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCBC. An end loaded bat can help a player generate more whip through the hitting zone which could possibly translate to more distance gained on balls put in play. The heavier feel towards the end of the bat is not preferred by all so it all comes down to player preference with regards to the swing weight feel.
Cameron
My son is 5'3" and weighs around 140 lbs. He is a power hitter in the 3-4 slot and has been using the Easton Mako XL -5 for the past two seasons. Would a 32" be too much handle for him? He is a strong kid with very good bat speed. SB
If you need a BBCOR bat like the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC I would recommend getting it in a 31 inch with the option of going up to the 32 inch.
Dan
I have heard you shouldn't use composite bats if it below a certain temperature. If I were to use this bat in the cold, would it affect its performance? DJ
You may see a slight decrease in performance, but the durability of the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC is the larger concern as the composite material is more susceptible to cracking in colder temperatures.
Logan

What's the difference between the 2017 and the 2018 DeMarini CF Insane? speedy18

Does an aluminum or a composite bat have more pop and increase better after hitting? I see college guys mainly using aluminum but wasn't sure. scotty
Inherently, there is not going to be a big difference between the performance of aluminum bats and composite, like this 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC). Making a decision between composite and aluminium bats comes down to player preference.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
