Description

Victus wanted to change the game. So, they went all in on a dream and started handcrafting wood bats in a friend's garage. Their commitment to baseball players created a higher standard in the wood bat industry. Big Leaguers and professional players trust Victus because they feel their obsession with quality, attention to detail, and taste for useful innovation in every swing.

Victus has solidified themselves as one of the premier wood bat manufacturers in the Big Leagues. Their obsessive attention to detail, high-quality wood, and iconic logo can be seen on national television almost every time you watch an MLB game. Their all-new Victus Gloss V-Cut was destined for the pros with the same quality wood and hard finish, but a non-structural imperfection got them cut from the Pro line. V-Cuts are designed for players not worried about turn models or bat color, but love mash and rake! V-Cuts are not model-specific. Their nob, handle, barrel size and balance point are not specific prior to manufacturing, so they can be any model in the Victus lineup or a combination of multiple turn models. Change Your Game. Swing Victus.

This Victus V-Cut Hard Maple Wood Baseball Bat (VMR Black Gloss) features an approximate drop 3 length to weight ratio, a large, but shorter barrel, and will vary from a balanced to slightly end-loaded swing weight. This V-Cut comes bone rubbed which means it features a more compressed barrel and is recommended for those heavy hitters out there. Typically, V-Cut models will feature a thicker handle and a larger knob but this will vary from bat to bat. Buck tradition and purchase one of these Victus wood bats today with free shipping right here at JustBats.com. Never forget, we're here from click to hit!

Pros: Purchased this bat 7-months ago and have been using it inside and outside for BP during summer/Winter Select Ball and now using it for High School Ball as my primary over my Marucci Cat7. Now looking at purchasing a backup knowing that having a wood bat it will crack/break. When it warms up here in the NW I'll bring out the Cat7 but the wood is treating me so well there is a good chance I'll keep using it. 1st High School game I went Single, Single, Double, Triple

My favorite bat. Dan Player

Pros: I love this bat. Great balanced swing. Awesome pop. I've hit about 500 balls with it so far and there isn't a mark in the finish other than a couple scuffs. Not one ding in the wood. I wish I had bought one sooner

Cons: None so far.

Have a question about the Victus V-Cut Hard Maple Wood Baseball Bat: VMR Black Gloss? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this a drop 3 bat?
Marc
The Victus V-Cut Hard Maple Wood Baseball Bat: VMR Black Gloss will be approximately a -3 length to weight ratio.
Max
What type of cut is this bat - 110, 271?
Steve
These Victus V-Cut Hard Maple Wood Baseball Bat (VMR Black Gloss) can actually vary in regard to the type of cut that will be on the bat. However, if you are getting one of these bats, it will most likely feature at least a little bit of an end-load (due to the bat being intended for a "heavy hitter"). Because of that, I would compare the turn that will be received to a 13 or 243 turn.
Ben
What colorway does this bat come in? Because it's unclear what gloss means.
Luigi Rusconiti
The Victus V-Cut Hard Maple Wood Baseball Bat: VMR Black Gloss will be a black barrel with red handle while having a gloss finish.
Max
Does this bat come with a replacement warranty?
Amy
The Victus V-Cut Hard Maple Wood Baseball Bat: VMR Black Gloss will not come with a replacement warranty.
Max
Is the V-Cut still made out of pro wood?
Jared
The Victus V-Cut Hard Maple Wood Baseball Bat: VMR Black Gloss is constructed from pro-cut quality maple and features the pro-ink dot test. These bats are bone rubbed as well adding yet another quality aspect to the bat. The best maple billets will be used on the Pro Reserve models.
Cameron
Does it have the pro-pact finish?
Eric
This Victus V-Cut Hard Maple Wood Baseball Bat (VMR Black Gloss) will not feature the ProPact finish on it.
Ben
We just bought this bat. Does it have a warranty?
Chuck
Like most wood bats, this model will not have any manufacturer's warranty. You can find out if a bat has a manufacturer's warranty or not by looking under the "Features" section for each bat on our site.
Kyle
Can I use this bat is middle/high school. Since it doesn’t say bbcor .50
Austin Nipper
Yes, as a one piece wood bat, the Victus V-Cut Hard Maple Wood Baseball Bat: VMR Black Gloss is allowed in high school and collegiate play. As one piece wood bats do not require the official BBCOR stamp to be legal for play.
Daveron
Is this bat better than the $229 Baum bat for a power hitter?
Tricia
Maple is typically the preferred wood type for power hitters, so the Victus V-Cut VMR may suit a power hitter slightly better.

Overall - Very Nice Bat Jason P. coach

Pros: The Overall Quality is Great. It actually LOOKS like a Wood Bat. Most Wood Bats have so much paint and color sprayed on them they look like Aluminum bats. Not this One !

Cons: Like Most Maple Bats they all tend to feel a bit too heavy. Even this 110 Turn has some Heft Behind it. You really have to be a Stronger Player to use a Maple Bat. This bat is great for the Stronger Players, for Strength & Tee Work, and also Great for Loosening up the boys Muscles before a Practice/Game. The only Real Cons on this Bat was the Sprayed Lacquer had 4 small drips on the bat. Two drips around the handle and two drips on the barrel. I just took out my pocket knife and carefully smoothed out those areas. The other Con like I've said before is the Overall Weight /Feel , but adding a tacky grip ( We used all white Lizard Skin ) and the new grip really helps you to control the bat. A Tacky Grip is a Must ! I just feel that Kids in Little League and High School would benefit more from using a Birch, Ash, and even an all Bamboo Bat.

Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult Jose Torres player

Pros: This bat really surprised me. It has a very nice sweet spot and a balanced swing. I didn't expect the ball to drive off of it, the way it did throughout my 2017 spring/summer/fall seasons... I had to make time to plug this bat, because I AM going to purchase another for this 2018 season; and I thoroughly recommend giving it a whirl at this price.

Cons: As others mentioned before me, it does have a slippery finish/handle. It also seems a tiny bit heavier then others, but that may just be in my head? Overall a great bat.

Looks Great, Doesn't last long! Kevin Hoffman parent

Pros: Looks Great

Cons: Lacks durability. I bought this bat for my son, he is 17. The bat was great in the cage, however, it only lasted two at bats and broke. I ordered another one it made it about seven at bats before it broke. We ordered a Marucci blem when we ordered the second one it lasted the rest of the summer season.

Pros: nice feel when you make good contact good amount of pop

Cons: Horribly easy to break- I Have broken two of these bats in the last two weekends, the first time off the Rawlings logo, and part of the handle was the only thing left in my hands, the barrel went back to the pitcher. The second time was only the 2nd or 3rd at bat and it was just a high popout to third. it didn't fully break off this time, but a large crack down through the black handle. overall really easy to break not a great grip, probably need some type of take or lizard skin.

Pros: nice feel good pop

Cons: I bought two of these PA110 wood bats, and within a week both of them broke. The first one was in my first at bat, and I never even hit it off of the end of the bat or got jammed or anything like that. I'm not exactly sure, but I think it my have come broken. The other one was broken the next day, I hit it right off the Rawlings logo, and it snapped right in half. The barrel went towards the pitcher, and all I had was the lizard skin covering most of the black handle. And there is no warranty for wood bats so save your money

Questions and Answers (28)

Have a question about the Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Does this bat come with an ink dot certification?
Jason
No, the Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult does not include an ink dot test.
Cooper
Is this bat end loaded?
Eli
The Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult is going to be a balanced bat, not an end loaded bat.
Carter
How much does this bat weigh in 33" and 34"?
Derek
The Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult has a length-to-weight ratio (AKA "drop") of approximately -2 to -3. So a 33" will weigh about 30-31 oz. A 34" will weigh 31-32 oz.
Marcus
How thick is the handle?
Jon
The Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult has a 1" handle diameter.
Angelique
Is this bat ink dot certified?
j
The Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult does not feature a pro ink dot.
Angelique
Would this bat be good to use for legion baseball?
swrhoads34
The Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat (PA110) Adult would be a great option for Legion baseball.
Carter
I'm playing 13u baseball. Would this bat be a good choice over a drop 5 bat?
matt
The Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult is a great bat to consider but will certainly be heavier as it is a drop 2-3. A player who is currently playing 13U would benefit more from a drop 5 and if going to an adult wood bat it would be wise to consider going shorter in length to allow for an easier weight to control or choke up on the bat.
Cameron
What is the barrel diameter?
David
The Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult has a 110 turn model and a 2 1/2" barrel diameter.
Jason
What does VELO mean?
peanut butter
I am making an educated guess, but I believe that the VELO name on this Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat (PA110 Adult) refers to "velocity". Typically, VELO bats come with very balanced swing weights and because of the balanced swing weights, the hitter using the bats can achieve very high swing velocities.
Ben
Best choice for power hitters in wood bats?
peanut butter
If your player is a power hitter and performs best using balanced swinging bats, then this Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat (PA110 Adult) would be an excellent option for use. However, if he prefers a bat with an end-loaded swing weight, I would recommend getting a bat with a 243 or 13 turn to it (those turns are very popular for power hitters).
Ben
What is the difference between this and a BBCOR bat?
Jay
The big differences between the Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult and say the Rawlings VELO BBCOR bat would be that the BBCOR bat is made from one-piece alloy making the bat much more durable than the one-piece maple wood bat design. The barrel of the Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult is slightly smaller at 2 1/2" compared to 2 5/8" for a BBCOR bat. Also, the handle diameter will be thicker with the Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult and will not feel as balanced as the VELO BBCOR bat.
Cameron
Can this bat be legally used in high school baseball?
Abram Benson
Most high school leagues have no problems with you using wood bats such as the Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat (PA110). I would just check with your specific high school league through just to be sure, because it an vary.
Carter
How long would this bat last if used often and used properly?
manny
It's hard to predict the life span of a wood bat, as all it takes is one bad hit off the end or the handle to cause it to break. Wood bats can last just as long as aluminum/composite assuming there are no mishits, along with a little good fortune and care.
Kyle J.
What size is the barrel on this bat?
junior450r
This Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat (PA110 Adult) comes with a 110 turn model to it. The barrel diameter will be 2 1/2" and the taper from the barrel to the handle will be very long and gradual. The bat will offer a solid sweet spot size, but the barrel length will not be extra defined (due to the long taper).
Ben
How heavy is it?
ejejej
The Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult features and approximate -2 to -3 length to weight ratio. The 32" will be about 29 oz or 30 oz. The 33" will be about 30 oz to 31 oz and the 34" will be about 31 oz to 32 oz.
Jason
Is this bat legal for perfect game tournaments?
Anthony Capri
The Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult is a solid maple wood bat and it would be approved for play.
Jason

Can this be a bat for homeruns or is it just a bat for contact hitting?
Jake
This bat is a 110 turn model so will feature a well balanced feel for a wooden bat. Generally doubles/contact hitters prefer balanced models over end loaded ones.

Has this bat already been boned? If not, would boning this bat damage the finish on the barrel?
Jake
The Rawlings VELO Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PA110 Adult is not bone rubbed by the manufacturer. If one wanted to do this it would certainly not damage the bat but tough to say how it may impact the finish of the bat as far as scuffs/scratches.

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.

The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.

In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.

In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.

The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.

Some of Rawlings more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings' glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
