Description

Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Baseball Bat: MCMBBCULL Black Adult

Made for Big League players, the Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Baseball Bats feature some of the strongest maple wood billets in the game. These particular models did not meet the professional player's specific desire as far as length, weight, balance, handle, or knob, etc. Therefore, they were then pulled from the player's order and sold individually. There are no defects or "blems" to the bat, but rather they simply did not match the exact criteria of the player. As a result, you now have the chance to take advantage of a professional-grade model, without having to pay a professional-grade price!

Bat Benefits:

Marucci Pro Cuts will sport an approximate -3 length-to-weight ratio, perfect for any high school or college-aged player. Marucci finishes all of their Pro Cut models with a bone-rubbing technique to close any pores and harden the overall bat for an increase in durability. Each model will be handcrafted and come with a standard pro cupped end to help with the overall balance and swing speed. The turn model of each bat will vary, but the quality and durability will be elite. Try out one of these Pro Cuts today to see what it's like to swing like the pros.

Warranty

The Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Baseball Bats will not have any warranty.

Pros: Bat has no visual blemishes what so ever. I have swung Marucci for a couple years now and was excited to see I don't have to spend the $110 a normal Marucci costs. Great pop, and durability. Visually no cosmetic errors. All in all a great bat at a great price!

Cons: None so far...I will update the reviews if I find any

Pros: Good pop

Cons: Lack of durability. I got this bat on a friday. I took about 15 cuts of bp with it in practice that day, and the very next day it broke in two in my first at bat. Very disappointing after spending $70 on this bat.

Pros: Great...To the people who questioned the durability of the bat, the bat's durability is fine. This is a wooden bat so if you get jammed it will break. So it's not the company's fault if you're getting jammed.

Pros: Marucci blem bats appear to be a good value because of the lower price.

Cons: Marruci blem bat that was purchased appears not to be the same grade of wood as the normal Marruci bats. The completely snapped in half at the handle after a solid hit. Inspection of the wood revealed that the wood was brittle and not good quality wood. Received a replacement and will assess how durable this bat is. These bats are the finest made, however I question the quality of these bats.

Pros: Great looking bat - weight and balance is good

Cons: Broke after 6 swings. BEWARE as you are purchasing a BLEM and yes we understand this is a wood bat. Have had other wood bats used for BP and after 2 years still using. Thought the Marucci would hold up a little better.

Pros: I had trouble finding what made them blem bats. 3 players on my team use them including me and only 1 has been broken to this point in an over 18 league where some pitchers throw upwards of 90 mph. I have been jammed a few times and have not broken one yet.

Cons: You cant choose the model you want but that is something you know ahead of time

Cons: To be expected w/ a wood bat, so not really a con, but you'll need tape and/or pine tar on handle for grip.

Pros: Well made. End weighted with nice pop.

Cons: You don't know what you are getting. It could be a cosmetic blemish, or it could be a major wood flaw like mine. I got a 33.5 inch bat that weighed 33 oz. That is a drop of -0.5. Good practice bat, but not what I envisioned when I ordered it.

Pros: I was extremely skeptical about purchasing this bat pack, especially because I'm extremely picky about my bats. When I received my bats, I was shocked out how "normal" they seemed. The only blemish I could find was a few patches of paint on the handle that seemed to be rough. Hardly noticeable, especially since I tape my handle. Aside from those small, hardly noticeable blemishes, the bats seems high quality.

Cons: You cannot pick your models, which for me is a big deal. I have a specific model I like, that I've used for years. The other con is the fact that you never know why type of blemish your bat may have.

Pros: Pros: Great combination of bats. You get 3 for a great price, $67 a piece with free shipping. The bats are all solid wood bats, very nicely finished paint, and individually shrink wrapped in a nice looking package. Each bat is different and gives you a slightly different measure, taper, and barrel dimension so you can really get a feel of which one is which. Love the choice, it's like going shopping and getting the best of all worlds. Bats are solid, good wood, make a great sound and are solid quality.

Cons: You don't get to choose the bats you want, nor do you know what type of player the bat was modeled for. You have no way of knowing if it's for a power hitting type or an average hitting type and really is up to you to feel. if you want more of the same bat, you can't reorder necessarily as every bat is unique in some way shape or form.

Pros: I purchased this bat and recieved it before my game. Decided to use it in the game for the first time without testing the bat in a practice. This bat came out on top, giving me a game winning RBI double. When I hit the ball, it felt like I swung and miss, but I see the ball leaving the bat like a lazer, not a rocket. Holy @#!&, this bat is extremely amazing. I did make a great choice in purchasing this bat on justbats.com. I WILL make future business with justbats.com

Pros: My 13 year old son needed a wood bat to use with a pitching machine as the last 2 composite bats didn't last very long. The Marucci pro cut bats were highly recommended by Just Bats and a number of other retailers. We bought a pack of 3 to ensure we would have a spare. My son loves to use these bats in BP before a game and against pitching machine. Well worth the money. Pros: Very well balanced bat. Very durable against pitching machines. With this bat can you specify a certain model or turn of a Marucci bat(s) if it is in stock as a bbcull upon ordering? If so, can you request the models in the notes or will batwarehouse simply pick any model out of the bin and send it?
aj
No, unfortunately, you can't request a specific model on the blem bats. They are ramdomly picked out of a ben. They don't actually have finished model no's.
Mark
Are any of the blems quality affected or is it just a bum paint job or a small nick?
bskin
The blem bats that we offer do not have anything wrong with them that will hinder the performance of the bat. The only problems will be cosmetic.
Brett
I was wondering if you could tell me what model number the bats would be?
Mike
Since they are BBCULL bats, they come to us as blems, really don't know what we will have in advance.
gamer
This bat is for the softball? I need shipping to Puerto Rico?
Kenny
This is a baseball bat. We do not ship outside of the United States.
Kara
Are these bats blem because they are bent a little or weak wood? Or do they have like a chip or something?
JB
The BBCULL bats have cosmetic errors, they do not have any errors that will change their performance.
Sean
What is the barrel size on this bat?
Garrett
These Marucci BBCULL bats can be from any turn within Marucci's line. Barrel size will vary from around 2.48 to 2.54 inches.
John
Can I get the same model that Albert Pujols uses ap5-nb-w?
bubba
With the BBCULL bats we have no control on what we get in those, as they are blemishes and not something we order.
lkh
How closely related is the MCMBBCULL model to the classic 271 model that most companies make?
Bombsauce8
The Marucci BBCULL bats can be from any turn within Marucci's line. There may be some that will be exactly like the 271, but not all of them will be.
John
Why is it cheaper than the regular Marucci bats? Do they break quicker?
jdawg
Blems are bats that did not make it to the final stage of production due to minor belmishes. They're made from the same wood as Marucci's main line of bats and they don't break more frequently. Because they're marked as Blems, we get them at a good price from Marucci which allows us to sell them at a good price to our customers.
Derek
It says there is nothing wrong with that performance of the bats, but they say only recommended in the batting cages, could they be used in games, and if so why do they say only for practice and batting cages?
Earl
These are recommended to not be used in a game. They are perfect to be used in practice or in the batting cage. These are blemished bats that only have something wrong cosmetically with them. Most leagues will not allow these bats to be used because they say 'Blem' on them.
Todd
What's the difference between Marucci BBCULL and MCMBBCULL?
bbbill
There is no difference between the BBCULL and the MCMBBCULL
John
Is this bat approved for 2012 high school play?
dillan
Yes, it is high school approved
John
I'm a freshmen in high school. Will I be able to use it in the 2012 season and is this a good bat to use?
Dan Poodiack
Yes, wood bats are not required to have the BBCOR marking.
Linda
What is the size of the barrel?
steve
These Marucci BBCULL bats can be from any turn within Marucci's line. Barrel size will vary from around 2.48 to 2.54 inches.
Kara
How come you can't pick a weight for the bat? It only says length, does that mean that it is 32 inches and 32 ounces?
Anibal
Wood has a different consistency and weights will be approximate. This bat has an approximate -3 length to weight ratio.
Tyler
What do mean by a cosmetic error?
Tim
This can be an uneven paint job, wrong labeling, maybe the pro cup was a little too deep for Marucci's liking, the flare of the knob may not meet Marucci's exact specifications for the specific turning model they had in mind, etc...
Tyler
Why the Marucci model are not on these bats? Marucci website specify the model on each bat. Which one is offered here?
Alf
The Marucci Pro Cut MCMBBCULL Blems are bats that did not make it to the final stage of production due to minor belmishes. They're made from the same wood as Marucci's main line of bats but are sent to us without specific turning models.
Shelbe
Is there a difference between the MCMBBCULL and the MCMBLEM because there is pretty much a $50 difference if I just by 3 MCMBLEM?
Hat13
The MCMBBCULL is made from Pro Cut Maple. The MCMBLEM is made from a Maple that is not as high in quality. The MCMBBCULL will be a little more durable because of this.
Tyler
So if I buy this bat, I can't use it in a game?
Kdolla
Yes. You can use it in a game. We just recommend them for batting practice. That doesn't mean you can't use them in a game, because you can.
Tyler
How long do they usually last?
ike
Wood bats are very unpredictable, especially for players who don't have much experience hitting with wood bats. I've seen Marucci's MCMBBCULL bats last 6 months, others, I've seen last 6 hits. One thing to keep in mind with wood bats, is that they are much less forgiving than alloy or composite bats and there are many reasons why wood bats break. If contact is made too close to the end of the barrel or close to the handle, the chances of the bat breaking increase. If contact is made on the wrong side of the barrel, the chances of the bat breaking increase. When hitting with wood bats the first thing the player must do is make the label (emblem on the barrel) of the bat face straight up or straight down. The areas to either side of the label on the bat is not only the hardest but also the strongest.
Tyler
What size is the barrel?
elidaman
The approximate barrel size on the MCMBBCULL's will be right around 2 1/2".
John
Are these bats blemished?
Gee
The Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Bats are blem bats.Blem bats did not meet Marucci's standards for any number of reasons during production. Marucci Blem bats can contain any mistake that Marucci made during the production process. This can range from Tiger Stripping in the wood, uneven grain, light/heavy billets, and many other minor cosmetic flaws in the wood. The performance of the bat is not compromised.
Kara
Do these bats say BLEM on them?
Brian
The Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood (MCMBBCULL) will say "BLEM" over the Marucci logo.
John
What is the size of the barrel?
timo
Marucci BBCULL bats can be a variety of different turning models. Average barrel size however, will be 2.5".
Tyler
Are these bats similar to the Chase Utley's?
jake
The Marucci Pro Cut Maple: MCMBBCULL bats are made of the same high quality bone-rubbed maple wood as the Chase Utley models, but because they are BLEM bats, there is now way to tell if they will be the same turn as the Chase Utley bats.
Tom
What would a worst case flaw be on the Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Bat: MCMBBCULL Black Adult baseball bat?
Abomb
The Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Bat: MCMBBCULL Black Adult baseball bat is a BLEM bat. BLEM bats have been pulled from the production line for any number of reasons that did not meet Marucci standards. The bat will still be in mint condition and you may return and ship it back to us for free if you are not completely satisfied in any way.
Jeff
Are all of these bats -3 weight ratios?
matt
Yes, all of the Adult model Marucci MCMBBCULL bats will have an approximate -3 length to weight ratio.
Tom
What is the barrel size?
Joe
Approximately 2 1/2".
Tyler
Should there be indentations form the ball after hitting?
Carl
It is normal for wood bats to develop small indentations after usage.
Tyler
Is there a specific side of the bat you need to use when you hit the ball? Like logo side toward pitcher?
brandon
One thing to keep in mind with wood bats, is that they are much less forgiving than alloy or composite bats and there are many reasons why wood bats break. If contact is made too close to the end of the barrel or close to the handle, the chances of the bat breaking increase. The Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Bat will be an approximate -3 length to weight ratio.

When will the demo version of this bat come back out?
bomba
Unfortunately, we never have an ETA as to when Demo bats will be available. It could be next week, it could be never...

The Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Bat: MCMBBCULL Black Adult are blem bats and can be from any Marucci turn model. One blem bat may have a bigger barrel than the next model, one can be end loaded, etc. so it is difficult to compare these two particular models.
Kara

Adult wood bats, like the Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Bat: MCMBBCULL Black Adult, are considered BBCOR standard by default. Because these bats have minor cosmetic blemishes, some of their markings may not be correct or legible and an umpire may not allow them to be used in game. These would be better used as practice bats.

Since you said they could be any of Marucci's models, is there any way to find out which model you got?

Other than comparing the Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Bat (MCMBBCULL) next to the actual pro model it was turned like, there is no real way to determine which turn you got because they are not marked as a specific model and Marucci does not publish the dimensions.
Patrick
I have swung this bat for a while. What other woods would be similar to its swing weight and feel? Also, what other BBCOR bats could be similar to its swing weight and feel?
v
The Marucci Pro Cut Maple (MCMBBCULL) model is a cull or blem bat that can be to the specifications of any of the bats in the Marucci Professional line. Because we have no way of knowing which style of bat you received, we would have no way of comparing it to other bats. It is essentially luck of the draw.
Patrick

It is a blemished model that does not list which specific style it is.
Patrick

Richard Cerny
The Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Baseball Bat: MCMBBCULL Black Adult is a blem bat. BLEM bats were pulled from the production line for any number of reasons that did not meet their standards. This also means that these bats are assorted patterns from Marucci's production line and can be from any turn Marucci manufactures. Essentially, there are no guarantees on the handle and barrel diameter. These bats could be used in games but are better suited for practice and training purposes.
Cameron
What's the difference between a Marucci Professional Cut and a Marucci Blem?
mp
Professional cut models from Marucci are bats that have passed their specific standards and are able to be labeled as a certain turn or specific model. BLEM models are bats that for whatever reason did not pass Marucci's specificiations, and therefore will not be labeled as a specific turn or model. However, BLEM bats are still sold because performance-wise they are fine, and typically the reason they failed specifications are simple things such as a slightly crooked sticker, small scratch, or other defects.
Kyle J.

johny baseball
The Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Baseball Bat: MCMBBCULL Black Adult will not feature the Pro Inkdot. The ink dot certifies that the wood is pro wood.

I was wondering if this was a 2 5/8 inch barrel?
Baseball
The Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Baseball Bat: MCMBBCULL Black Adult could potentially be any turn model from Marucci since they are BLEM bats that were pulled from the production line. Most of these bats feature a 2 1/2" barrel diameter.
Logan
What is the difference in the MCMBLEM and the MCMBBCULL?
Sonny Constable
There really isn't much difference between blems and culls. The chance you would receive slightly higher quality wood would be greater with the Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Baseball Bat: MCMBBCULL Black Adult than with an MCMBLEM model.
Logan
Is this considered to be a balanced bat?
Marty
The Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Baseball Bat: MCMBBCULL Black Adult are blem models, so a MCMBBCULL purchased can be any of the pro turn models Marucci makes, meaning a specific "balanced" or "end loaded" turn isn't guaranteed.
