Pros:  There is absolutely no vibration from anywhere on the bat. Massive pop. Slight end load when holding it but feels balanced when you swing it. The grip is very sticky even after being in dirt, no real need for gloves unless you prefer to wear them. Simple design. Personally gave me confidence at the plate. Hit a home run my first at bat with it. And now I constantly hit the fence. Extremely low price. Outhits 450 dollar bat

Cons:  Dirt does scratch the bat. Grip gets dirt colored. Everyone wants to use it.

Pros:  This bat feels and hits better than any BBCOR I have ever tried, and I have tried them all. I am too young to know how good the CAT 5 was, but I can't imagine it being any better than this!

Pros:  I swung the Cat5 BBCOR and it was the best BBCOR bat i ever had. I bought the Cat6 and it's even better. Feels so good at contact and the ball literally rockets off the barrel. And to top it all off, it's only $250... My friend is already selling his new mako to buy a cat6.

Cons:  My team mates won't stop asking to use it

Pros:  Just how it feels. Ball comes off smooth and just feels so good. No vibration. Balanced how I like it with just a little more on the end. Best bat out. Price is also amazing! This is the bat you need.

Cons:  Nothing. Found my BBCOR for the Spring!

Pros:  Best bat on the market. $250 for amazing BBCOR bat is unreal. You can hit it any where on the bat and it will not sting. It wil give a gentle little buzz. This bat is very balanced also. It hits so good, I am afraid they will make them illegal.

Cons:  The grip gets dirty and the white shows a lotta of scratches but its a baseball bat it will be used hard.

Pros:  My training facility has all the new kinds of BBCORs for demos and this is easily the best BBCOR out of all of them. Everyone is using this bat. It has so much more pop than the rest and it is so smooth. The vibration knob actually works too even on jam shots. Me and my brother are both ordering this bat soon. Marucci really stepped their game up with this bat.

Pros:  The best description for this bat is smooth. The overall feel is incredible...its very well balanced with just enough weight towards the end to give you power. Don't misunderstand...it is not end loaded, just perfectly weighted in my opinion. Cant say much for durability yet...but its a one piece aluminum so I can't see anything going wrong unless it dents or something. It has just as much pop as any other high end bat (thanks BBCOR). Its just a great swinging bat. Love the one piece feel. Also I think this is a fair price for a great bat. Anything 399 and above is too much for me.

Cons:  At least for me, the handle has a fairly large taper to the knob which I don't like. But its an easy fix. I just unwrapped the tape and removed the large rubber cone and replaced it with the small cone from my old bat. Now its perfect! Also the bat looks great new in white but I bet with time it will get pretty ugly looking. But who cares its a bat...as long as it performs I don't care.

Pros:  My nephew favors basketball and was always intimidated by baseball, he took a few hard swings and hit one over dead center. He is joining my sons 14u travel team now. I was torn between the Cat 6 and the 15 Combat, no regrets after seeing what it can do. Ditch the two piece, the flex top affects power, go with a one piece.

Cons:  Same look as Cat 5, couldnt find a con.

Pros:  My son has been playing ball for about 10 years. i have purchased many bats all the {latest and greatest}. He has never been a so called power hitter. The first ball he squared up with the CAT6 one hopped the fence. He said I told you it was a good bat. Well today when he hit his first home run {ever} I am now convinced. For sure worth the price and no reason to spend more.

Cons:  After just a few swings makes a weird noise but doesn't seem to matter.

Cons:  Bat had good pop when new . After about 6 weeks it lost its pop and stung hands . Marucci would not warrant bat they said it was performing as it should . I do not agree but am still out 299.99 They would not answer my emails for a better explanation. I do not recommend this bat !!!

Pros:  Free & fast shipping when purchased from Justbats.com. The bat had great pop for first couple of months.

Cons:  Bat had good pop when new . After a couple of months it lost its pop, sounded dead, and was ball was not coming off the bat good at all! Marucci would NOT warrant the bat even though it was only 5 months old. They said it was performing as it should and due to the new technology the "dead" sound was normal. My son has played baseball since he was in elementary and have had dead bats before so we know what they sound like when dead! Never had an issue with warranties before until now. We previously purchased the Cat5 and loved it so we figured the Cat6 would be even better. We were wrong about the Cat6 and are out 299.99. I do not recommend this bat !!!

Pros:  It swings like a wood bat, and like many other people have said, it is the smoothest swinging bat out there. There is absolutely no vibration.

Cons:  Has a muted feel because of the vibration dampening technology, this isn't a feel that I really like. It is a great option if you are a contact hitter, but absolutely terrible if you are a power hitter. I am a power hitter, last season I used an XL3 and I hit numerous bombs in the gaps and a ton of home runs and extra base hits. With this bat, I haven't hit a single ball like last season, and instead I'm hitting solid line drives into the outfield sometimes in the gap. I sometimes hit in the gap in the infield. The ball is hit hard, no question, and it is great for those 1-2 hitters, but not for those looking to have balls soaring over the outfielders' heads. I have mixed feelings about this bat, but I will definitely not use it next season (the season is almost over).

Pros:  I hit dingers pretty much every at bat, but the dingers I hit with the Marucci Cat 6 make the fans go wild. I mean, this bat is insanely good. I used to use the Mako and I liked it a lot, but it died rather quickly. When I hit the ball square, it's a dinger. I don't know, it may just be me and my skill, but the Cat 6 is a bat worth looking at. And my at bats are something worth looking at.

Cons:  You're going to have to go fetch my dingers in the woods

Pros:  This bat is absolutely awesome! I saved up for a few months and finally got it. Has great pop and can even hit into the outfield if you hit the ball on the handle. This is perfect for a power hitter as it is top heavy, but it does have a solid balance to it. For $250 it seems to perform better than some more expensive DeMarini and Eastons bats. People complain about the handle getting dirty, but that is part of baseball. I also recommend buying it new, because it looks great right out of the box. No break in needed.

Pros:  Overall just a really nice bat. My son used Combat bats for years and really liked them but tried a teammates Cat 6 and loved it. Slightly end loaded but swings really nicely. Overall a very good bat for the money.

Cons:  Some vibration, but if the ball is hit correctly there is none. Haven't had the bat long enough to make an accurate statement on durability.

Pros:  Every player knows, it's not the bat, it's the player. But a good bat never hurt anybody. This bat is a great bat. It gives you the confidence you need to walk up to the play every time, thinking you will get a hit. Been an Easton guy my whole life, switched over to Marucci, haven't looked back since.

Cons:  The grip can get torn a little bit. Also, the label on the knob popped off. Not a huge deal though.

Pros:  Pop Balance Feel I purchased this bat (32/29) as a cage bat for over the winter for my 13u player. It was obvious as soon as he started swinging that the bat had excellent pop. He liked it so much that we purchased a -5 model also for him to swing in games. He was asked to guest play with a JV team this summer and his first AB with a BBCOR he one hopped a 370' fence with his CAT 6. Not sure I could ever tell anyone to spend more money on a different bat, this one is just as much bat at 1/2 the price.

Cons:  None that I have found

Pros:  Bad has great pop right off he barrel and if you jam yourself or catch it on the end it still has some give that might will land you a single. Fantastic balance better than the cat 7 which makes it easier to move up in bat length which is what i just did. You will love hitting with this bat.

Cons:  If you hit it off the handle it has vibration but the only fix to that is to become a better hitter.

Pros:  It's a nice looking bat and has a nice whistle to it! and Hits good grounders!

Cons:  The ball only travels about 60% of expectations with a good timed swing and when the sweet spot connects! Doesn't seem to have the drive it should. Disappointing to me especially after spending $250.00! You don't see this bat used very much "for some reason" with the more experienced Little League and travel ball players! I finally went back to store and purchased a composite core bat!

Pros:  Since the first time my son laid hands on this bat, there was no other choice. He has used a version (different sizes) all through high school and has recently bought one for college. He gifted his Senior year Cat 6 to one of the Freshman and donated his other Cat 6 to the high school baseball team because most of them used it as well. Hope they never stop making the Cat 6. Pros:  After using the Velo for three weeks, my 15U player likes it a lot. He prefers a balanced bat, and the balance of this Velo is as good as advertised. The bat has exceptional pop -- the extended barrel seems to make a positive difference. The grip is also outstanding.

Cons:  The only con is the amount of feedback when he hits off the end of the barrel. The vibration can be painful. It's hard to avoid this with an aluminum bat, so I can't say this flaw is particular to the Velo.

Pros:  This bat is well balanced & has great pop. My son is a singles & doubles hitter. This bat is perfect for a kid trying to bat for average. The ball gets through the infield in a hurry. My son is a sophomore & is not a power hitter yet. This bat is perfect for him, because it fits his body style. The bat has a huge sweet spot & therefore he hits the ball hard 95% of the time. This is our first Rawlings & we love the bat.

Cons:  It has a thicker handle than most bats. It takes a while to get used too. I think that's why the bat is very balanced & not top heavy at all.

Pros:  Decent pop, well balanced, very little vibration.

Cons:  Used in the batting cage, after two rounds of hitting the grip completely came off. If you buy this bat be ready to buy another grip soon. This also happened to two other players on my team. Expected better quality from Rawlings.

Pros:  Amazing pops. Doubles and triples are regular occurrences now. My son didn't like the sound it makes at first but now he loves the big sound because it's usually a deep shot. A couple of his teammates are using the Marucci Cat 6 and the Easton Z-Core but this Velo outshines both those bats easily.

Cons:  Extremely loud noise with contacts. Be prepared because it's a lot louder than other aluminum bats!!! Much louder than the Cat 6 and the Z-Core.

Pros:  This bat is by far the best alloy bat on the market. Great pop, great grip, and the weight is balanced the best with any bat i have swung....very well recommend this bat. If you want a alloy bat i highly recommend this one, if not get the MAKO.

Cons:  Not really a con, but if you hit it off the cap or handle it stings a little, just as all the other bats.

Pros:  I bought this for the HS baseball team this year as the high end bat for the team. The boys have really taken to this bat, they like the balance and pop, but they all like the ping when the ball is hit well. We played our 8th game of the season on Friday and the first really warm day up here in NH for the season, I had my 4 hitter a SR hit a 2 run HR what I would estimate to be around 410' over our right field bleachers and football press tower.

Cons:  The finish has some nicks in it and the boys have handled it pretty well so far I think. The ball marks are hard to come off and when they do the paint is definitely affected.

Pros:  My son hit with someones 2015 and was in top 3 on team with batting average. Decided to get him the 2016 model. He is a bit smaller than other kids but with this bat he is smashing ropes. I hit with it a couple times and you do feel little vibration if not on sweet spot but when you do hit sweet spot feels like swinging at air, and will send ball screaming. Personally like the bat cause all size players can swing it and has good pop. very well balanced bat. And priced well compared to others that ain't as good. Highly recommended

My grandson is 16 years old. 6'2" and weighs 160 lbs. What size bat would you recommend and I am assuming it should be drop 3. He just tried out for a national team and made the roster. Are there any restrictions on wood bats?

Based upon your grandson's height and weight I would recommend swinging a 33'' 30oz in the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614. As far as wood bat models I would take a look at the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat: AP5NB Adult, which will be a premier wood baseball bat.

My son is 5'10 125lbs. Not a lot of upper body strength. What bat ratio should I be purchasing?

If your player is needing a BBCOR certified bat like this Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614, I would recommend a 32" 29oz. sized bat. However, if you were looking to go lighter for better overall control, the 31" 28oz. option would also be suitable.

My son is 5'6" and weighs 162 lbs. He's a power hitter currently swinging a 34" wood bat in intermediate 50/70. What size BBCOR do you recommend?

Based on your son's height and weight we would recommend getting the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 in a 33 inch model. If he feels comfortable using a 34 inch wood bat then there is certainly nothing wrong using that same size in a BBCOR model.

Why is the CAT 6 design different? It has grey marucci instead of red and has red rings around the cat 6 logo on barrel. Will the original design come back?

The color scheme on the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 was changed in the last batch we received from Marucci. Is is just a color scheme change and nothing else is different with the bat. As far as we know, this is the only color scheme we will have from now on.

If I couldn't decide between CAT 6 and CAT 7, could I just order both, feel them and return one of them? If so, could I hit the balls but keep the barrel clean?

Both the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and CAT 7 BBCOR bats are top of the line BBCOR models. Marucci changed up the alloy being used in the CAT 7 models giving this bat a slight edge in overall balanced feel. If unsure which one to get, you could essentially order both and take dry swings with them and leave the plastic on the barrel. Unfortunately you would not be able to hit with either, regardless of how clean the barrel is, and then return one or both if not satisfied. Marucci does not offer a trial period of any kind on the CAT lineup of bats and thus we cannot accept back a used bat for an exchange or refund.

I just got a used Cat 6 from online, it looks well taken care of and was only used for 1 season. Obviously you wouldn't be able to give me a 100% accurate answer, but on average how long do these bats usually last before they start to lose pop and wear down?

Generally, most customers can probably expect 1-3 seasons out of a new bat that they purchase, assuming good care is taken and depending on how often they play/practice each year.

I would recommend against using this Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) with yellow cage balls. Those yellow cage balls are denser than regular baseballs and have the ability to damage the barrel of the bat.

You can send it back to us for a full Refund/Exchange if you would like. Click the "Returns" button on the top right corner of the page for more info. However, a lot of bats will weight slightly more than their listed weight, as manufacturers often weigh them before finishing touches are added such as glue, paint, etc.

(1) Based upon your height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting this Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) in the 31" length. As long as you feel you can handle the 28 oz weight of the 31" option of this bat, I would recommend this Cat 6 in that size. (2) If you are looking to use what will be needed for high school or are already required to swing a BBCOR bat, then I would definitely recommend a BBCOR bat like this CAT 6 (MCBC614). My son is going into 14U this fall. He is 13.5 years old, 5'4" and 125 lbs. In two years, he will be in high school and has to use a drop 3. Do you recommend going drop 5 and then drop 3 or straight to drop 3? What length do you recommend? I'm looking at the Cat 6/7, but curious how it compares to the Voodoo Raw? Which other bats do you suggest we consider? Do you have a specific recommendation?

Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting a 31 inch Youth Big Barrel/Senior League bat. The weight of the bat should be 23 ounces if going into 7th grade and 26 ounces if going into 8th grade. This will make the transition easier going into high school and the BBCOR area. As far as the bat to look into, there are many great options currently on the market. The Marucci CAT 6 and CAT 7 will be balanced while the DeMarini Voodoo RAW will be end-loaded. An end-loaded bat like the RAW would be better suited for a power type hitter typically. To select the correct bat, the questions one should ask would be: Do I prefer a balanced or end-loaded bat?, Do I prefer composite or alloy barrels?, and Do I prefer a two-piece or one-piece bat? Once you are able to figure the preference then it becomes much easier to whittle down the field and select the best bat for your needs and personal preferences.

I'm a contact hitter but I'm trying to work on power. I'm deciding between the Cat 6 and the Select 716. I mainly want a bat that has good pop but almost no shock. Which bat would you suggest?

Typically, contact hitters will prefer a balanced bat. Both of these bats are listed as balanced bats but the Select 716 from LS will feel slightly more end-loaded. As for something that will reduce vibration/shock, you will find that a two-piece bat will be better equipped to do this as these bats will flex on impact. For power, there is really not one BBCOR bat that will provide more than another. An end-loaded bat can help increase power slightly but for someone that is more of a contact hitter it may not be the best fit. The CF8 will reduce vibration more and can perform slightly better in warmer weather (70+ degrees Fahrenheit) while the Cat 6 will hold up better in colder weather and can produce slightly more power (being a one-piece bat, it does not flex as much on impact but one will feel more vibration from off-center hits). Composite bats will require a break-in period (CF8) before being game ready while an alloy bat (Cat 6) will be ready to go out of the wrapper. These two bats will sound different as well. The Cat 6 will produce the typically "ping" sound while the CF8 will sound more like a wood bat.

I am more of a contact hitter, but i was looking for a bat with a little bit more power. I was deciding between the CAT 6 and the DeMarini CF7. Which bat would you recommend for me?

Both this Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the CF7 will be balanced swinging bats. However, this CAT 6 does come with a single-piece design. That design allows the bat to be stiff at contact. A lot of times, players that want more power prefer the single-piece bats because they feel that the stiffness at contact allows all their power to be transferred to the ball. My suggestion for you would be this CAT 6.

Both the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the DeMarini CF7 are solid choices to go with. Ultimately, it will come down to a few things: alloy vs. composite and also a one-piece vs. a two-piece bat. Alloy bats, like the CAT 6, are best right out of the wrapper. They will not require a break in but performance will taper off the more the bat is used. Composite bats, like the CF7, require a break in before a bat will see its top performance. Once a composite bat is broken in, it will continue to get more responsive over time the more a bat is used. Lastly, a contact hitter will usually prefer a two-piece design because of the flex that it allows. Two-piece bats flex during your swing, causing a whip-like action that helps the head of the bat whip forward at the moment of contact, generating more inertia and power. A power hitter will tend to prefer a one-piece bat because the one-piece design isn't as forgiving as a two-piece. Two-piece bats with a lot of flex can be a bad thing for a power hitter because it can cause loss of bat head control and a late whipping action.

What is the difference between the Marucci CAT 6 and the Marucci Black 2.0. I am a contact hitter.

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a one-piece all alloy design with a balanced swing weight. The Marucci Black 2.0 is a seamless two-piece design. It will feature an alloy barrel and a composite handle. The Black 2.0 will have a slightly end loaded swing weight. We would recommend the Marucci CAT 6 model for contact hitters because of the well balanced design.

I am a 5'5", 135 baseball player who is looking for a balanced bat. I am using the Marucci Elite bat this year as a senior league bat. Next year we have to go to BBCOR bats only. Which bat would be better for me the Elite or the CAT 6? Also what size of bat?

Both the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and Marucci Elite are solid choices to go with. The Marucci CAT 6 is actually the most balanced bat that Marucci manufactures, so if you wanting the more balanced of the two, it would be the CAT 6. I am a college baseball player who uses the Marucci Cat 6 during the spring season, but am looking for a wood bat that will swing similar to it for a wood bat summer league. What would be some turn models that would be comparable options?

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is the most balanced bat that Marucci manufactures. If you are looking for a wood bat that would feature a similarly balanced feel, we recommend looking at any bat that has a 110 turn. The 110 turn has the most balanced swing weight of the standard turn models. This is a great option for a player who is new to wood bats and helps ease the transition from a BBCOR model. The thick handle also adds to the bat"s durability. The 110 turn is a very popular choice among contact hitters who are looking for more bat speed through the hitting zone.

Hello, I am 5' 8" and about 135 pounds. My current voodo overlord has great pop, but it is a little to end loaded for me. Would this bat help me get the barrel through the zone quicker. If so what would be a good size.

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) does have a more balanced swing weight, however the stiffness of the one piece model can slow your swing down. We would recommend a balanced hybrid model such as the Marucci Black BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB14) in a 32" 29 oz. model.

The balanced swing weight of the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is typically favored by contact hitters, since it is easier to work on bat speed and bat control with a balanced bat. Typically, power hitters will prefer an end loaded bat that will take advantage if their fast bat speed and strength. I'm kind of between a contact/power hitter and want to know what would be a better bat choice for me: the CAT 6 or Voodoo?

Both bats are great options, but it comes down to what you prefer. The DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is a two piece hybrid with a composite handle and alloy barrel with an extended barrel and end loaded swing weight. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a one piece alloy with a balanced swing weight. If you are in the middle either of these would work.

The Cat 6 is quite an amazing bat, a lot like the Cat 5. Do you think it'll get banned like the Cat 5?

The issues that lead to certain sizes of the Marucci CAT 5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCB2) being banned have been addressed so the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will not have those problems.

How does this bat stand up against the 2014 Easton MAKO? I know that the MAKO is composite and the Marrucci CAT 6 is an alloy bat, but are both equally or similarily balanced? What about the difference in pop?

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) are both great models. They will be similarly balanced. As far as pop goes, under the BBCOR standards all bats will have the same performance standards across the board so pop is going to be similar as well. The main difference besides the material is that the CAT 6 is a one piece and the MAKO is a two piece. The one piece CAT 6 will offer a stiffer flex.

I'm looking for the lightest swing weight possible under $250. Is this bat a good idea? If not, which bat is?

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is one of the more balanced bats BBCOR bats on the market and as a result will be a light swinging bat. The CAT 6 is a terrific option for what you are looking for.
