Description
When the CAT 5 burst onto the baseball scene, it became one of the top aluminum bats on the market. This year, Marucci raises the stakes again with unbelievable new technology in the CAT6. Through endless field testing with the top players in America, Marucci discovered that vibration in the top hand is the most common complaint amongst amateur baseball players. Marucci has acquired a patented new anti-vibration technology that blows the competition away. They hired noted bat scientist Dr. Daniel A. Russell to do some lab testing against the top bats on the market. The results were shocking. He found that the vibration dampening rate on the CAT6 is 5.6 times higher than the next closest competitor! For the player, this means that they can step up to the plate worry-free with one thing on their mind; blasting one over the fence! This is literally the smoothest swinging bat ever produced. Experience the difference of this one-piece bat made from the most responsive alloy in the industry. Marucci: Game Tested. Player Approved. This bat is BBCOR Certified and is legal for high school and collegiate play. The Marucci CAT6 carries a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: There is absolutely no vibration from anywhere on the bat. Massive pop. Slight end load when holding it but feels balanced when you swing it. The grip is very sticky even after being in dirt, no real need for gloves unless you prefer to wear them. Simple design. Personally gave me confidence at the plate. Hit a home run my first at bat with it. And now I constantly hit the fence. Extremely low price. Outhits 450 dollar bat
Cons: Dirt does scratch the bat. Grip gets dirt colored. Everyone wants to use it.
Pros: Soild bat with no break in with a ton of pop! This is my second Cat and I will not swing another bat. I laugh watching all these players with the expesive bats and then I get up and do the same thing or better!
Cons: none
Pros: I swung the Cat5 BBCOR and it was the best BBCOR bat i ever had. I bought the Cat6 and it's even better. Feels so good at contact and the ball literally rockets off the barrel. And to top it all off, it's only $250... My friend is already selling his new mako to buy a cat6.
Cons: My team mates won't stop asking to use it
Pros: Just how it feels. Ball comes off smooth and just feels so good. No vibration. Balanced how I like it with just a little more on the end. Best bat out. Price is also amazing! This is the bat you need.
Cons: Nothing. Found my BBCOR for the Spring!
Pros: Best bat on the market. $250 for amazing BBCOR bat is unreal. You can hit it any where on the bat and it will not sting. It wil give a gentle little buzz. This bat is very balanced also. It hits so good, I am afraid they will make them illegal.
Cons: The grip gets dirty and the white shows a lotta of scratches but its a baseball bat it will be used hard.
Pros: My training facility has all the new kinds of BBCORs for demos and this is easily the best BBCOR out of all of them. Everyone is using this bat. It has so much more pop than the rest and it is so smooth. The vibration knob actually works too even on jam shots. Me and my brother are both ordering this bat soon. Marucci really stepped their game up with this bat.
Cons: none
Pros: The best description for this bat is smooth. The overall feel is incredible...its very well balanced with just enough weight towards the end to give you power. Don't misunderstand...it is not end loaded, just perfectly weighted in my opinion. Cant say much for durability yet...but its a one piece aluminum so I can't see anything going wrong unless it dents or something. It has just as much pop as any other high end bat (thanks BBCOR). Its just a great swinging bat. Love the one piece feel. Also I think this is a fair price for a great bat. Anything 399 and above is too much for me.
Cons: At least for me, the handle has a fairly large taper to the knob which I don't like. But its an easy fix. I just unwrapped the tape and removed the large rubber cone and replaced it with the small cone from my old bat. Now its perfect! Also the bat looks great new in white but I bet with time it will get pretty ugly looking. But who cares its a bat...as long as it performs I don't care.
Pros: This bat is light and quick throught the zone. He feels good after every hit and it sounds even better. I highly recommend this bat because its a bat with a good price and preforms better than voodoos and cf7s.
Cons: Its white so i clean it often.
Pros: My nephew favors basketball and was always intimidated by baseball, he took a few hard swings and hit one over dead center. He is joining my sons 14u travel team now. I was torn between the Cat 6 and the 15 Combat, no regrets after seeing what it can do. Ditch the two piece, the flex top affects power, go with a one piece.
Cons: Same look as Cat 5, couldnt find a con.
Pros: The bat is just great, the weight is perfectly evened out. The bat has ton of pop, the ball just flies off the barrel, this is my first time using a Cat or a Marucci in general, and I don't think I will ever use another bat. Best of all, the bat doesn't cost near as much as all the other bats people buy.
Cons: Nothing at all
Pros: My son has been playing ball for about 10 years. i have purchased many bats all the {latest and greatest}. He has never been a so called power hitter. The first ball he squared up with the CAT6 one hopped the fence. He said I told you it was a good bat. Well today when he hit his first home run {ever} I am now convinced. For sure worth the price and no reason to spend more.
Cons: After just a few swings makes a weird noise but doesn't seem to matter.
Pros: Free shipping
Cons: Bat had good pop when new . After about 6 weeks it lost its pop and stung hands . Marucci would not warrant bat they said it was performing as it should . I do not agree but am still out 299.99 They would not answer my emails for a better explanation. I do not recommend this bat !!!
Pros: Free & fast shipping when purchased from Justbats.com. The bat had great pop for first couple of months.
Cons: Bat had good pop when new . After a couple of months it lost its pop, sounded dead, and was ball was not coming off the bat good at all! Marucci would NOT warrant the bat even though it was only 5 months old. They said it was performing as it should and due to the new technology the "dead" sound was normal. My son has played baseball since he was in elementary and have had dead bats before so we know what they sound like when dead! Never had an issue with warranties before until now. We previously purchased the Cat5 and loved it so we figured the Cat6 would be even better. We were wrong about the Cat6 and are out 299.99. I do not recommend this bat !!!
Pros: Smooth swinging , great feel, hope it lasts longer than the original cat5 that died after a season. First swing , first high school home run second caught at fence. Third swing second hs hr. Awesome outta the wrapper
Cons: None so far
Pros: It swings like a wood bat, and like many other people have said, it is the smoothest swinging bat out there. There is absolutely no vibration.
Cons: Has a muted feel because of the vibration dampening technology, this isn't a feel that I really like. It is a great option if you are a contact hitter, but absolutely terrible if you are a power hitter. I am a power hitter, last season I used an XL3 and I hit numerous bombs in the gaps and a ton of home runs and extra base hits. With this bat, I haven't hit a single ball like last season, and instead I'm hitting solid line drives into the outfield sometimes in the gap. I sometimes hit in the gap in the infield. The ball is hit hard, no question, and it is great for those 1-2 hitters, but not for those looking to have balls soaring over the outfielders' heads. I have mixed feelings about this bat, but I will definitely not use it next season (the season is almost over).
Pros: I hit dingers pretty much every at bat, but the dingers I hit with the Marucci Cat 6 make the fans go wild. I mean, this bat is insanely good. I used to use the Mako and I liked it a lot, but it died rather quickly. When I hit the ball square, it's a dinger. I don't know, it may just be me and my skill, but the Cat 6 is a bat worth looking at. And my at bats are something worth looking at.
Cons: You're going to have to go fetch my dingers in the woods
Pros: Balanced swing. Soft grip. Absolutely zero vibration from this bat even when jammed. Pop is great. when i get a hold of one, it doesn't even feel like I hit the ball. The sound is great too. I love how the color is white.
Cons: gets dirty easy, but hey, what did you expect with a white bat?
Pros: this bat has absolutly incredible pop. when you hit the ball on the sweet spot, which is quite large, you get that nice loud PING sound. the bat always has a vibration when you hit but its a good feeling vibration. Its not like a stinging vibration. this bat has the best grip on a bat possible. i would hoghly recommend this bat. extremly balanced
Cons: the only con is that it gets really dirty. but thats what a bat for. it doesnt bother me but might be a bad thing for others
Pros: This bat is absolutely awesome! I saved up for a few months and finally got it. Has great pop and can even hit into the outfield if you hit the ball on the handle. This is perfect for a power hitter as it is top heavy, but it does have a solid balance to it. For $250 it seems to perform better than some more expensive DeMarini and Eastons bats. People complain about the handle getting dirty, but that is part of baseball. I also recommend buying it new, because it looks great right out of the box. No break in needed.
Cons: Nothingf
Pros: This is the best bat on the market right now. As soon as you pick it up it has a great feel. It's well balanced, the grip is nice, and I'm a huge fan of the one piece design. I used it my senior year of high school and had a great season with multiple dingers. Great pop. Will be using it my freshman year of college.
Cons: Pitchers hate you
Pros: Has a great general feel, i love the bat, Im a big marucci fan an have every new bat they come out with. It has a great color an the grip lasts. Good pop all the time, hasnt worn out yet. It may sound like a dud an seem dead when you hit it on the ground but man do those balls fly. 3 doubles in one game, first season with it i batted 400
Cons: The grip gets dirty an the bats white finish will fade a little, Ive had mine for 2 seasons an it is more or a dirty white/ yellow hints too it.
Pros: a lot of pop, great feel, balanced, this bat was a teammates of mine in my first year of high school ball and i used for every single at bat and this bat just felt natural to me, all i did was hit the ball hard everywhere, this bat easily turned me into one of the best hitters on my team. i would definitely recommend this to anyone no matter what size they are
Cons: none
Pros: Overall just a really nice bat. My son used Combat bats for years and really liked them but tried a teammates Cat 6 and loved it. Slightly end loaded but swings really nicely. Overall a very good bat for the money.
Cons: Some vibration, but if the ball is hit correctly there is none. Haven't had the bat long enough to make an accurate statement on durability.
Pros: Every player knows, it's not the bat, it's the player. But a good bat never hurt anybody. This bat is a great bat. It gives you the confidence you need to walk up to the play every time, thinking you will get a hit. Been an Easton guy my whole life, switched over to Marucci, haven't looked back since.
Cons: The grip can get torn a little bit. Also, the label on the knob popped off. Not a huge deal though.
Pros: Pop Balance Feel I purchased this bat (32/29) as a cage bat for over the winter for my 13u player. It was obvious as soon as he started swinging that the bat had excellent pop. He liked it so much that we purchased a -5 model also for him to swing in games. He was asked to guest play with a JV team this summer and his first AB with a BBCOR he one hopped a 370' fence with his CAT 6. Not sure I could ever tell anyone to spend more money on a different bat, this one is just as much bat at 1/2 the price.
Cons: None that I have found
Pros: The ball goes when you hit it on the barrel.
Cons: First of all it has a very odd feel to the bat when i used it i got jammed every time but with other bats i be hitting doubles on the same pitches very small barrel and sweet spot and stings very bad when jammed
Pros: this bat is no doubt the best bat i have ever swung. The pop is rediculous the swing weight is unreal my friend swung mine in rhe cage today and is selling his cf8 to get one. i woukd recomend this bat to anyone and size any style of hitting whatever this bat is UN REAL
Cons: NOTHING, if u cant hit with this baf u need to get in the cage
Pros: This bat is a great bat all around. i have just recieved it and used it for about a week in the cages. i have never ever batted this well. my bat speed is the best its ever been and ive never gotten my hands through as well. ive just been craking the ball with this thing.
Cons: i only have one. if i could, i would have a new one for every game i played.
Pros: Feels really balanced and has wicked pop straight out of the wrapper. The handle width is perfect for me. Feels like I'm swinging a small tree. I don't prefer thin handle bats, so for me, the CAT 6 is worth every penny.
Cons: Only the color white. Looks great brand new but gets dirty quickly.
Pros: Bad has great pop right off he barrel and if you jam yourself or catch it on the end it still has some give that might will land you a single. Fantastic balance better than the cat 7 which makes it easier to move up in bat length which is what i just did. You will love hitting with this bat.
Cons: If you hit it off the handle it has vibration but the only fix to that is to become a better hitter.
Pros: great pop feel durability and quality. thisbat is hot right out of the wrapper. my old marrucci one black cracked right before my triple crown tournament so i had to get a new one overnight so i choose the cat6 and with the next day shipping justbats saved my life
Cons: grip wares out easily
Pros: It's a nice looking bat and has a nice whistle to it! and Hits good grounders!
Cons: The ball only travels about 60% of expectations with a good timed swing and when the sweet spot connects! Doesn't seem to have the drive it should. Disappointing to me especially after spending $250.00! You don't see this bat used very much "for some reason" with the more experienced Little League and travel ball players! I finally went back to store and purchased a composite core bat!
Pros: this is easily the best bat I have ever owned. no other bat ive ever swung can compare to this one. it feels so balanced and the pop is crazy good. it doesnt matter what kind of hitter you are, you cant go wrong with the cat6
Cons: its too good
Pros: this bat feels amazing in the hands of a hitter, it is the perfect combination for people that rotate between contact and power hitters. The bat sounds great and looks great along with a great piece of metal it is.
Cons: the grip after a minute gets worn but thas expected for a bat with as much use as mine has
Pros: Since the first time my son laid hands on this bat, there was no other choice. He has used a version (different sizes) all through high school and has recently bought one for college. He gifted his Senior year Cat 6 to one of the Freshman and donated his other Cat 6 to the high school baseball team because most of them used it as well. Hope they never stop making the Cat 6. He doesn't like the Cat 7.
Cons: None.

Description
The next generation of Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRV3! The VELO has earned a reputation for being one of the lightest swinging BBCOR bats on the market, and the new version completely backs it up. Thanks to the VELO's Comp-Lite Composite End Cap, unnecessary weight is removed from the barrel of the bat, shifting the MOI towards the players hands. If the swing speed you generate with this bat doesn't turn heads at the park, the maximum pop and resonating "ping" created by the bat's stiff flex, fully alloy construction, and AP (Acoustic Performance) Technology surely will. Like many of you already know, some bats that focus on maximizing swing speed fall short in other performance categories. But not the VELO. Not only is this an extremely well-balanced design, but its barrel offers Precision-Optimized Performance (pOp 2.0) Technology for an extended barrel and sweet spot. Explosive swing speed and a massive barrel: a game-winning combination! This bat is BBCOR Certified for High School and Collegiate play, and it is backed by a full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Pros: Just got my 2016 Velo, and i can already tell that im gonna love it. When you put this bat in your hands you feel like with every swing you'll be able to hit one over. Feels great in your hand, extremely light feeling, and amazing pop off the bat. Overall my favorite bat and i will get the 2017 Version.
Cons: none
Pros: this bat is amazing i used it for 3 games and i was just dropping bombs. it has a super loud ping g that does hurt your ears when hitting but i like it. a little bit of sting when hitting it to close down the barrel, just wear batting gloves. lay down some pine tar on the barrel and watch it fly, dont use in cages with those yeloow rubber fake balls. overall great bat. also has a grip similar to lizard skin works the same.
Cons: a little sting
Pros: crazy pop, cool graphics, super light, and i used for my first game and got 2 dingers this bat is amazing
Cons: i used to have the 2015 voodoo, and it had a very thin handle that i like but this bat has a thicker handle but it doesnt matter
Pros: My son loved the bat right out of the box. he said it had great feel, balance and pop. he had the demarini voodoo and his exit speed is higher with the velo. its a good bat. love the loud ping noise it makes coming off the bat.
Cons: none yet
Pros: Pulled it out of the shipping box and started hitting some batting practice....had a great feel to the bat, and even better POP!!!
Cons: Once the team saw the Velo in action and how the ball jumped off the bat, EVERYONE now wants to use it.
Pros: -Bigger sweet spot compared to last year -Lightest bat on market(my 34" feels like a 32" it's amazing) -No break in time -Comfortable, thin grip -Tons of pop, ball flies(feels like old BESR bats)
Cons: -Vibration(not a big deal though) -Loses pop faster than composite bats in my opinion
Pros: Usually very pleased with Rawings products. EXCELLENT Balance solid pop.
Cons: It's too early to determine durability for this bat. We had a Raleigh Trio last season. A few months after the warranty expired, the bat went kurplunk and was worthless. HENCE, we shall see.
Pros: Solid feel and decent pop, so far
Cons: Will hold of on the durability issue until I have a full season out of it. Had a Rawlings Trio and it died a quick death just after warrantee expired. A great bat otherwise. Any bat should last a full high school season, post season, summer and then Fall before going flat
Pros: son likes it
Cons: bat cracked after about 10 practices and into 5th game. sending it back, Rawlings told me to be ready to wait around 3 weeks. will post back later and give update on replacement . i would not buy again if this is the case.
Pros: After using the Velo for three weeks, my 15U player likes it a lot. He prefers a balanced bat, and the balance of this Velo is as good as advertised. The bat has exceptional pop -- the extended barrel seems to make a positive difference. The grip is also outstanding.
Cons: The only con is the amount of feedback when he hits off the end of the barrel. The vibration can be painful. It's hard to avoid this with an aluminum bat, so I can't say this flaw is particular to the Velo.
Pros: This bat is well balanced & has great pop. My son is a singles & doubles hitter. This bat is perfect for a kid trying to bat for average. The ball gets through the infield in a hurry. My son is a sophomore & is not a power hitter yet. This bat is perfect for him, because it fits his body style. The bat has a huge sweet spot & therefore he hits the ball hard 95% of the time. This is our first Rawlings & we love the bat.
Cons: It has a thicker handle than most bats. It takes a while to get used too. I think that's why the bat is very balanced & not top heavy at all.
Pros: SON LIKES IT
Cons: CRACKED BAT, GOT REPLACEMENT 3-10-16, SENT BACK ON 2-29-16. DID NOT TAKE 3 WEEKS AS THEY SAID, HOPE REPLACEMENT LASTS LONGER THAT THE ORIGINAL, WILL POST LATER IN SEASON, IM A ? ON VALUE OF BAT
Pros: Decent pop, well balanced, very little vibration.
Cons: Used in the batting cage, after two rounds of hitting the grip completely came off. If you buy this bat be ready to buy another grip soon. This also happened to two other players on my team. Expected better quality from Rawlings.
Pros: This bat has great pop and a big sweetspot! If you hit it right it will go far! My first game I used had used it i went 3-4 with a double single and a walkoff homerun! But the overall feel is great and it feels nice right out of the box
Cons: none so far
Pros: Amazing pops. Doubles and triples are regular occurrences now. My son didn't like the sound it makes at first but now he loves the big sound because it's usually a deep shot. A couple of his teammates are using the Marucci Cat 6 and the Easton Z-Core but this Velo outshines both those bats easily.
Cons: Extremely loud noise with contacts. Be prepared because it's a lot louder than other aluminum bats!!! Much louder than the Cat 6 and the Z-Core.
Pros: This bat is by far the best alloy bat on the market. Great pop, great grip, and the weight is balanced the best with any bat i have swung....very well recommend this bat. If you want a alloy bat i highly recommend this one, if not get the MAKO.
Cons: Not really a con, but if you hit it off the cap or handle it stings a little, just as all the other bats.
Pros: The bat is very light and balanced. Just bought the bat. I am a high school baseball player and am 6'1 and weigh 165. The bats pop is insane. Love the bat recommend to anyone
Cons: If you hit the ball on the inside the vibration hurts a little. Also, indoor bp its very loud. The bat js great recommened to anyone in high school baseball
Pros: very very balanced i love this bat it hot right out the rapper and has a amazing feel and sound the sound almost reminds me of the 2009 plasma i love it...??????
Cons: i had really had any bad things happen so far maybe a little sting after a jam shot off the handle
Pros: I bought this for the HS baseball team this year as the high end bat for the team. The boys have really taken to this bat, they like the balance and pop, but they all like the ping when the ball is hit well. We played our 8th game of the season on Friday and the first really warm day up here in NH for the season, I had my 4 hitter a SR hit a 2 run HR what I would estimate to be around 410' over our right field bleachers and football press tower.
Cons: The finish has some nicks in it and the boys have handled it pretty well so far I think. The ball marks are hard to come off and when they do the paint is definitely affected.
Pros: amazing feel, pop is INSANE. you take one good swing and yoir in love , grip is thick and user friendly. undoubtedly the best bat i've ever owned . sweet spot just has amazing feel to it . rawlings did an amazing jon on this bat. will stidk woth rawlings from now on. if you are on edge about this bat, get it. you will not regret it .
Cons: if you have white batting gloves and you sweat it will tirn the hands blue, and the noise is REALLY loud. but after a few swings its totally manageable. obly real problem is that everyone loves useing it!
Pros: Balanced feel Kid loves holding it, team mates want to use it Quality built product Love the .5" length & weight values as he grows Distinctive sound on contact
Cons: As a spectator, if sitting close, a well hit ball can 'ring' your ears
Pros: As a junior in college this is so far the best bat that I've used (previously used an Easton Mako and Louisville Prime). I normally use a 32" but 33" is the way to go for this bat. It's extremely balanced and easy to drive through the zone.
Cons: Grip will wear out easily... highly suggest a lizard skin.
Pros: My son hit with someones 2015 and was in top 3 on team with batting average. Decided to get him the 2016 model. He is a bit smaller than other kids but with this bat he is smashing ropes. I hit with it a couple times and you do feel little vibration if not on sweet spot but when you do hit sweet spot feels like swinging at air, and will send ball screaming. Personally like the bat cause all size players can swing it and has good pop. very well balanced bat. And priced well compared to others that ain't as good. Highly recommended
Cons: a little vibration if not on sweet spot
Pros: I'm 4'10 and weigh 98, first time I used this bat I shockingly hit 330 when I usually hit about 270, if you hit the ball with the sweet spot, expect a shot out of the gates because this bat does it all!
Cons: No cons at all, just very little vibration.
Pros: Its a very nice bat with above average pop, very loud and intimidating, and extremely light
Cons: Its too light and feels awkward for a power guy, the grip may need to get replaced by some lizard skin which isnt a hard fix but still is a neccessity, wouldnt reccomend it for a power guy

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings' glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
