Pros:  Bat is well balanced, bought this bat for my 13 year old playing elite travel ball. Very Good Pop, well balanced bat. Have had many different bats including Marucci Elite, Mako, etc over past few years and this seems to stand toe to toe at a slightly lower price point. Only feedback I am interested in from others is how this compares to the Marucci Cat 6 elite version which is a little higher price but haven't seen any comparisons yet.

Cons:  None so far, Don't know about durability yet only used in a few games.

Pros:  Very Balanced Good Price Point No sting

Cons:  Very Little Pop and a small sweet spot Bought this bat for my son who has been using an Anderson Techzilla and Rip-It Air for travel. The Rip-It broke in half in batting practice, so someone told us to go with the Marucci Cat 6. He found this to be a really dead bat, with about a 4 inch sweet spot, so now it sits in my garage. My son wishes that Anderson would make a big barrel Techzilla!

Pros:  My 13 year old son really likes this bat. Perfect weight for him and easy change next year to drop 3. Good Pop and seems very good for durability for right now. He has been hitting it for about 2 month with lots of reps. He plays 13AAA & 14AA. I might just buy another one to keep in his bag in case something happens to this one.

Cons:  None so far.

Pros:  my son just received the CAT6 and loves it. Great pop out of the wrapper and very balanced. He had to switch to all aluminum and -8 for the middle school team but the transition from a drop ten half/half has been seamless. In fact he has the CAT6 as his number one bat.

Cons:  None so far.

Pros:  Just bought the 29" for my 9yr old son and wow! I have never seen him hit so well. The -8 weight means the user needs to be physically strong enough to swing hard but the balance makes it much easier. One of the best I've ever seen in 5 years of coaching and that includes all of the expensive composites. Looks great too.

Cons:  Nothing yet.

My son is 10 years old. He is currently using an Easton S3 which is 29 inches long and 19 oz. Which CAT6 bat would be the best for him? He is about 56 inches tall. He is pretty strong for his age. Also, what barrel size?

At this time we currently only have the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC65 in a 32 inch 27 ounce bat. This size bat will be better suited for a player that is in 8th grade or a year away from having to use BBCOR bats. Based on your son's height, we would recommend going with a 30 inch or possibly a 31 inch bat. As for the weight, that is determined by how he is currently handling the 19 ounce bat. Typically, when increasing weight we suggest increasing it no more than 1 to 2 ounces. And barrel size, make sure the barrel size you are looking into is allowed for use. A lot of leagues do not allow the 2 3/4 inch barrel diameter.

My son is 13 and weighs 80 lbs. He swings a 31 inch 20 ounce but needs a big barrel bat now. What do you recommend?

The correct length to get your son the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC65 in would be based on his height. As for the weight, this is going to be determined more by the current weight of the bat he is using and how that is treating him. If bat speed is not lacking, then a small increase (1 to 2 ounces) might be a good idea. To get a better idea of bat size, please refer to our bat coach at: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/

My son is 13. He is 5'6", but light at 100 lbs. He wants a -5, 32"/27 oz bat. He does not have to use a -5 until this fall, but he wants to start this spring with the heavier bat. What are your thoughts on the 31" or 32" with his size?

Based upon your player's height and weight, our general suggestion would be to get a 31" model of Senior League/Youth Big Barrel Bat. However, if you feel that your player can handle the 27 oz weight of the 32" model of this Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65), then that size would be just fine for use!

I'm around 5'6", 190 lbs and moving up to middle school. What size? Also, would this be a good bat or would the Easton XL3 be better?

Based upon your height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of going with the longest 32" model of this Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65). As long as you can handle the 27 oz weight of the 32" model, you should be just fine with that size option of this bat. If you wanted more of an end-loaded bat, then I might recommend looking more towards the XL3 as this CAT 6 will be very balanced in its swing weight.

How does the 2015 CAT 6 compare to the 2013 Marucci TEAM PREBCOR? Will the CAT 6 be a higher performing bat?

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) and the Marucci Team preBCOR Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBT5) compare very closely in terms of design. The Cat 6 may be a bit better balanced which can help create quicker bat speed. Other than that, they will perform very similarly.

My 13 year old son currently swings the Marucci Black 2 -8. Is the Cat 6 a similar bat for feel and balance?

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) and the Marucci Black 2 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBB28) will have similarly balanced designs but may feel weighted differently due to the difference in drop weight. The CAT 6 and the Black 2 will have different feel to them because the Black 2 is a two-piece design that will flex a bit more while the CAT 6 is more stiff.

How would this compare to a DeMarini NVS Vexxum or Voodoo? My contact hitting son is currently swinging the CAT 5 Squared in -8. I understand this is a one-piece, as opposed to the two-piece DeMarini's. From a performance, balance, and swing weight stand point which is better?

If your boy is already using the CAT 5 model, the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) would be a great choice! It is fully one-piece in design. Made from 100% alloy materials. It will also feel very comfortable and deflect much of the hand sting on mishits. It will feel slightly stiffer compared to the DeMarini Vexxum NVS. Both are very balanced in swing weight and will provide similar pop and performance.

The Cat 5 and the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) are going to be very similar. Both are going to be a one-piece aluminum design with a balanced swing weight and a longer barrel for a larger sweetspot. This would be an excellent bat for a contact hitter.

Can you give me some opinions on the CAT 6 vs. RIP-IT AIR? Differences and similarities.

Both the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) and 2014 RIP-IT AIR Senior League Baseball Bat (B1405) would be pretty comparable in design. Both are balanced, one-piece alloy models that utilize technology that optimizes the barrel wall thickness to achieve that balanced feel. The RIP-IT models uses a Contact Grip to help reduce the vibration often experience with one-piece bats. And the CAT 6 features Marucci's patented Anti-Vibration Knob to eliminate that sting. If you're interested in the RIP-IT model, it's backed by a 30 Day Love It or Return It Program through RIP-IT which would allow you to try the bat out, risk-free.

How does the CAT 6 compare to the Black? Is the CAT 6 balanced or end loaded? We had great success at the plate with the Easton S3 -10 at a younger age, but we need a -5 now. We are looking for something comparable.

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) will not be end loaded. It will have an extended barrel length and feel very balanced. The Black is also balanced and will feature a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The CAT 6 will be fully alloy. Either bat will feel very comfortable and be very high performing.

Had some bad experiences with the performance and durability of the Marucci Team line and had lost confidence in the brand. How does the quality, performance, and durability of the CAT6 compare to the Marucci Team and the Elite line?

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League (MSBC65) will have a larger sweet spot compared to the Marucci Team and Elite models which will translate into better performance. Marucci has made some minor changes to the AZ3000 Alloy to improve the durability of the bat.

My son is 13 years old, 5' tall and 95 lbs. He has been using (and really likes) the Adidas EQT 30" 22oz, but we can't find that bat for sale anywhere, even on your site which we have purchased over 10 bats from your company due to selection, price, and trust. Would you recommend the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (this would need to be USSSA certified as well) as an excellent alternate to the Adidas bat?

First off, we certainly appreciate your business and kind words. As for the recommendation, I believe this Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68 would be a great option as an alternative to the EQT. I am looking at the Cat 6 and the XL3. I would appreciate any thoughts in comparing the two.

The Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68 and the 2016 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16X38 are both one-piece alloy bats. These two bats will feature different swing weights though. The 2016 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16X38 will feature an end-loaded swing weight while the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68 will have a balanced swing weight. The Marucci and its balanced swing weight will be beneficial for the player that is more of a contact hitter. It will feature a larger sweet spot but less concentrated in weight (sweet spot that is). The XL3 will benefit the power hitter more as the sweet spot on this bat will be smaller but more concentrated in weight. What this creates, is more of a pendulum/whip effect with regards to the barrel; thus creating more distance on balls that are centered on the sweet spot. A top heavy bat can cause top hand lag though. This barrel lag will lead to a slower swing and a bat path that is less ideal for making consistent/quality contact.

How long will this bat typically last?

The lifespan on the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68 will vary. Depending on the usage (bat used for all practice, games, batting practice, only one player using, etc), the weather (weather under 70 degrees can diminish the lifespan of a bat quicker) and whether or not the ball is hit on the barrel versus the end cap or towards the hands will all affect the bat's durability. With that being said, the average lifespan will be tough to pinpoint.

I'm 9 years old, 5'1" and weigh 148 pounds. I've been using a DeMarini Voodoo 30" 21 oz. How will it compare to the new Cat 6?

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) is a one piece full alloy model featuring the AZ3000 Aerospace grade alloy. It will feature a more balanced swing weight than the Voodoo. Additionally, it will be quite a bit more stiff through the zone than the two-piece Voodoo.

I have twins that play 9 year old travel ball (kid pitch). They are about 1" and 5 lbs. of each other. The tallest is 54" and is about 68 lbs. We are currently using the Cat 5 27/17. One is the lead off hitter and the other is around 5th. They both are home run hitters. What would you suggest for the Spring? Would the CAT 6 be good for both? Should they have separate bats?

The 28" or 29" 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) would be ideal. It is great for power or contact hitters. The balanced design will allow for fast bat speeds. Also, the fully alloy design will not require any period of break-in.

I only buy Marucci bats for my 12yo. for the last 3 months he has been swinging a drop -3 Team Marucci. It's made him stronger, and he's hit a few shots, but he's not ready for it yet. What kind of results are reasonable to expect from his new Marucci CAT 6 drop -8?

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) is a great bat for a player that age. It is a one-piece all alloy design like his TEAM model. The CAT 6 will be more balanced but with a larger sweet spot. I think you will see better results with this CAT 6 due to the larger sweet spot and the lighter weight which will help him get through the zone quicker with faster pitching.

Is this bat as balanced as the Black and will this bat last me about two years?

Given the countless ways and situations a bat can be used in, it is impossible to predict how long the bat will last for a player. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) is a durable model and it does come with a 12 month warranty to protect against breakage. The CAT 6 will be similarly balanced to the 2014 Marucci Black Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBB148).

I am 4'9",104 lbs, and I am 10 years old. I am swinging a DeMarini Voodoo 2014 and it is working well. I am wondering, which length do you think I should get?

Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 30" model in the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68).

Better bat: CAT 6 -8 or Easton XL3 -9, for an 11 year old contact hitter with power?

That will be a matter of preference. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) features a balanced swing weight, which is generally preferred by contact hitters. The XL3 features an end loaded design, which is normally preferred by power hitters. Since the player can hit for both power and contact, it will truly be up to them and if they can handle the additional end load of the XL3, or if they want to stay with a balanced model like the CAT 6. Both are great options to go with.

Description for Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC65
When the CAT 5 burst onto the baseball scene, it became one of the top aluminum bats on the market. This year, Marucci raises the stakes again with unbelievable new technology in the CAT 6. Through endless field testing with the top players in America, Marucci discovered that vibration in the top hand is the most common complaint amongst amateur baseball players. Marucci has acquired a patented new anti-vibration technology that blows the competition away. They hired noted bat scientist Dr. Daniel A. Russell to do some lab testing against the top bats on the market. The results were shocking. He found that the vibration dampening rate on the CAT 6 is 5.6 times higher than the next closest competitor! For the player, this means that they can step up to the plate worry-free with one thing on their mind; blasting one over the fence! This is literally the smoothest swinging bat ever produced. Experience the difference of this one-piece bat made from the most responsive alloy in the industry. Marucci: Game Tested. Player Approved. This bat features the USSSA BPF 1.15 Stamp.
