Description
Marucci Maple Wood Baseball Bat: MCMBLEM Black Adult
Take your game to the next level with a Marucci Maple Wood Baseball Bat! These particular "BLEM" models indicate that there was a minor error in the manufacturing process of the finished bat. These blems can range anywhere from chipped paint to uneven grains. Blem models will still be structurally solid, but a cosmetic or minor variance from a standard model will exist. As a result, many players and parents find great value in going the route.
Bat Benefits
The Marucci Maple Wood Baseball Bats will have an approximate -3 length-to-weight ratio, perfect for any high school or college-aged player. As a result of these being blemished bats, there is no guaranteed turn model at purchase. This means that the bat will certainly arrive at the length of your choosing but the knob, handle, and even barrel can arrive different than any of the others.

Pros: Nice strong looking bat.. Hit a triple at my first at bat..
Cons: The paint chips or cracks
Pros: Bats are really hard and seem to hold up a little more then others.
Cons: None so far.
Pros: Nice Finish and Feel, but
Cons: Unfortunately, using on a chilly day cracked on my son's first contact with the ball.
Pros: good look ... solid ... great balance. ..great pop
Cons: n/a
Pros: Good pop.
Cons: Nicks on it when it arrived. Swings heavy
Pros: feels great. Has a lot of pop. Great bat for the price!
Cons: none yet
Pros: Has good balance...seems solid.
Cons: None discovered yet.
Pros: Love the durability of these especially for blems. I run an adult baseball team and use this as my bat/the team bat. Always have at least one leftover at the end of the season and there will be five or more players using them. Ball jumps off the bats
Cons: Ordered blems 5 times now. Got a model I liked everytime but once. The risk of getting a model I dont like is worth the reward. If you care about the look black isnt the most exciting thing in the world
Pros: Can't go wrong using these Marucci blem bats. Pop is the best I have gotten from any brands blemished bats.
Cons: Wish they had a natural finish rather than just black
Pros: the bats only come with a small nick or chip in the paint. The bats last a long time and have a lot of pop even in the cold weather.
Cons: some blems tend to break in the first month but others last a year or so.
Pros: great pop
Cons: nothing
Pros: The bat arrived in great condition. After unboxing the bat I have to say that I was very impressed, aside from the lame and cheesy "BLEM" that covers the Marucci "M". The finish was top-notch and looked beautiful. I could not see any visual defects with the bats.
Cons: As you cannot select the style of turn when you buy blemished bats, I was slightly disappointed mine turned out what seemed to be a 110 style bat. But having only swung mostly 271 style bats I figured "eh, I'll make it work for me." First BP session: Swung the bat a good 50 or so times and while the feel of the bat was great, I feel like the distance I got off of it was worse than my 17 year old ash bat. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong and just decided to stick with it. A few more BP sessions later and I still feel like it just doesn't have the pop that it should. Well, in it's 2nd game of use I hit a ball square on the barrel. The bat absolutely exploded in my hands. It split into 3 big pieces and the biggest piece, the barrel, had several more cracks running the length of it.
Pros: flawless for a maple bat, impeccable finish. I picked this up for a my kid when he was 13.. year and a half later this bat has been used and abused. Did a hitting session yesterday and he hit 3 out with the Maruch, and only 1 with his 917 Prime. Ordering another in a bigger size. The bone rub makes this bat very hard, and the finish is like a piano.
Cons: None so far, its a steel for MLB quality maple. Hope the second is as good as the first.
Pros: The pop on this bat is very good and the durability is great. Of course with any wooden bat it only takes one pitch hit in the wrong place and that will break the bat. I have had one for 2+ years and it is still going strong. I have 3 of them with 2 different sizes.
Cons: Just remember you can swing any bat one time and if hit in the wrong place it will break. It is wood so you have to expect that to happen.
Pros: We are currently using these bats in a summer collegiate baseball league. We have had great success with these bats. Would recommend these bats!
Cons: No cons at this time.
Pros: perfect size and weight. My daughter uses it in a men's league we play in. Line drive to RF down the line on her second swing after a foul back.
Cons: No cons on this bat to report. Had Maruccis in the past, great bats
Pros: Great bat alto of pop my son use it for batting practice and cages
Cons: None
Pros: This bat was purchased as a gift for my grandson and therefore I have no opinion on it as his birthday is next week and that's when he'll get it. That being said, I did inspect this "BLEM" and found nothing wrong with it except a very small scratch in the paint. excellent deal!
Cons: None so far.
Pros: BALANCED, AND GREAT FEEL OF THE HANDLE
Cons: NONE
Pros: evenly balanced and has all the "pop" I need. I have one that I have been using for 2 years. That would equal about 70 games so the durability is excellent also.
Cons: Haven't found one as yet.
Pros: I have been using Marucci Bat's for the last 3-4 years. They have great pop and are very durable. Of course, any bat could break after one or two uses but that hasn't happened to me. My original Cutch 22 I have had for 3 years. I now own 3 different sizes of Marucci's and love all of them.
Cons: Can't think of any
Pros: Good feel. Decent pop. Not a bad bat.
Cons: If it’s not the sweet spot the bat brakes. Mine snapped in half after 10 swings. I play college ball and I have paid less for way better bats.
Pros: I like the finish on the bat. The bat has pop in it and so far feels like worthy purchase.
Cons: The handle is a bit thin.
Pros: Great bat for college kids playing in a summer wood bat league.
Cons: none
Pros: Great balance
Cons: None for blems suttle handle shaves noticible
Pros: I've used my blem in my past two games and have been very happy with the balance and pop in this bat. For the price I'm very satisfied.
Cons: None yet.
Pros: Price, looks really nice, performed well
Cons: Broke at first tournament, found out later what BLEM meant. Not upset, got what we payed for just wish it would have lasted a little longer, but that is wood bats for you.
Pros: Pop
Cons: Durability Top Heaviness
Pros: VERY GOOD FEEL AND HARD HITTING BAT
Cons: EVERYONE WANTS TO USE IT
Pros: Don’t know. My son tried it and walked 4 balls-0 strikes.
Cons: Did not get to hit a home run.
Pros: Great feel, nice look and good pop
Cons: Nothing so far
Pros: Very solid bat
Cons: none
Pros: Perfect bat for 15U elite player. Got the 32 and balance was good. Used it in a tournament and had a lot of contact with little damage. Should last a while.
Cons: Little plain in appearance. No biggie.
Pros: Bought this bat over a year ago and is still holding up nicely. I have well over 200 swings on it from cage and game use. Has major signs of wear and tear, but still has a nice feel and really decent pop. Still feels solid when making contact. very little if any "sting". For low cost, its well worth it.
Cons: None, really. I guess the reason it was a BLEM bat was because my bat had some small little dents in one small spot, but the finish and everything else seemed just fine.
Pros: Awesome grip and feels well balanced. Sweet spot carries the ball with high velocity.
Cons: Can it be made better?
Pros: - Nice look and feel - Has some power and pop
Cons: - Bat broke very quickly and easily.
Pros: Good quality bat, look, feel, and pop. This is my 4th purchase of these bats in 2 years as wood doesn't last forever. They have exceeded expectations.
Cons: None that I can think of, have not noticed any detectable blems...
Pros: Look and feels good.
Cons: Breaks
Pros: Bat has great pop for a wood bat, got this as a sophomore for aa wood bat league, and still use it today as I graduated a few weeks ago. This bat sounds great when hit on the barrel.
Cons: If you are used to a balanced swinging bat it will take a little to get used to because to me it is slightly end loaded.
Pros: the blem is a little mark on the barrel. Son using for training, not used in a game yet
Cons: none so far
Pros: Purchased this Bat for my son to use in a Collegiate Summer baseball league. Held up perfectly all summer facing some quality VELO College pitching. If you're breaking this bat, you're missing the barrel. Lot of quality at bats left in this one.
Cons: None yet......Will likely purchase another for next summer.
Pros: Nice balance
Cons: N/A
Pros: Price and feel are pros
Cons: My son wants be to buy him another one as a backup even though I spent more on his other one (still Marucci)
Pros: It is a line drive machine!
Cons: Has to be hit in the right part of that bat or it will hurt your hands A LOT and the ball won’t go anywhere
Pros: It's pretty cheep and has ok pop.
Cons: It buzzes your hands good if you don't hit it perfect. It brakes pretty I haven't even used it for one season.
Pros: Durable, great feeling bat. Used it for two-plus years in a weekly game and BP. Could not tell where the blem was. Used a lizard skin with no batting gloves and had a great feel. Lots of pop, lots of hits in that bat.
Cons: Nothing lasts forever, was pissed that I got jammed on a fastball ball and it busted. But that happens.
Pros: Great all-around bat
Cons: None
Pros: The bat was shipped quickly and seems to be high quality hasnt been swung yet.
Cons: The description say a -3 and mine came in a drop -6.5 which is too light for my son.
Pros: Looks good and a good price
Cons: Broke too quickly
Pros: Nice and durable great bat for a power hitter
Cons: Very endloaded
Pros: Hard maple, good pop, great bat for the price.
Cons: N/A
Pros: Looks nice
Cons: Broke the second ball he hit and almost cut my son's hand broke 9 inches from base

Pros: great balance big sweet spot great price
Cons: few drip marks in black causing minor bumps
Pros: I love this bat, I got a JB19 for $140 but this bat is arguably better and it's at a much better price.
Cons: none
Pros: The Overall Quality is Great. It actually LOOKS like a Wood Bat. Most Wood Bats have so much paint and color sprayed on them they look like Aluminum bats. Not this One !
Cons: Like Most Maple Bats they all tend to feel a bit too heavy. Even this 110 Turn has some Heft Behind it. You really have to be a Stronger Player to use a Maple Bat. This bat is great for the Stronger Players, for Strength & Tee Work, and also Great for Loosening up the boys Muscles before a Practice/Game. The only Real Cons on this Bat was the Sprayed Lacquer had 4 small drips on the bat. Two drips around the handle and two drips on the barrel. I just took out my pocket knife and carefully smoothed out those areas. The other Con like I've said before is the Overall Weight /Feel , but adding a tacky grip ( We used all white Lizard Skin ) and the new grip really helps you to control the bat. A Tacky Grip is a Must ! I just feel that Kids in Little League and High School would benefit more from using a Birch, Ash, and even an all Bamboo Bat.
Pros: the bat feels very balanced and has very good pop. also feely very solid, i had problems with bats at similar prices feeling cheap and wood felt like it would break quickly. but this bat feels very good
Cons: slick handle, but nothing lizard skinz or tape cant fix
Pros: topheavy. good pop
Cons: topheavy. heavy
Pros: Pricing, good pop, sturdy feel, balanced swing
Cons: slippery handle, get some grip tape, I like lizard skin
Pros: The bat is beautiful. It is balenced perfectly for maximum velocity. I got this with a bat pack with a mizuno bamboo. This Rawlings bat is the best maple i've ever used
Cons: nothing bad to say
Pros: was a great bat with good feel for about the first 2 weeks
Cons: broke after 3 weeks. right down the middle
Pros: Fast delivery, well packaged, nice bats
Cons: No cons
Pros: Good pop and nice to swing
Cons: Grip is a little slick but overall a great bat!
Pros: The bat has a good feel to it and great finish and should last long since its a maple
Cons: Small sweet spot. To hit with so its a good idea to bone the barrel for extra protection
Pros: Great pop, great sound off the bat, big sweet spot, not too top heavy, overall just a good bat for the price
Cons: Bat is kind of slick, but pine tar or tape can easily fix that.
Pros: Plenty of pop!! Solid bat!!
Cons: None yet
Pros: very hard solid bat
Cons: One came splintered but a new one was overnight mailed to us
Pros: nice feel
Cons: none
Pros: Love the look
Cons: Wish it was a 32”
Pros: Worked great
Cons: Handle is slick so you will need to put a grip on it.
Pros: solid bat...3 for 3 last weekend!
Cons: none yet...
Pros: Durable.. almost a full season not even close to breaking it . Solid pop.. excellent overall!! And good price compared to other bats.
Cons: None .
Pros: Good price
Cons: Broke but all woods bats do.
Pros: Looks great, feels great, sounds great. My son put about 200 swings on it so far but can’t get on the field for a good bp session due to Covid. During soft toss, tee work, and minimal live bp sounds great. My son loves it.
Cons: Only gave 3 stars because we can’t get out there and really check it out.
Pros: Have a lot of pop, great price and feel great.
Cons: Feel a little heavy.
Pros: The bat feels balanced
Cons: It broke
Pros: There's little I can say positive about it given how short-lived the bat functioned. I really enjoyed swinging this bat, if that means anything. And the first few hits felt nice. Don't expect it (especially after 30 days), but I'm working with JustBats on rectifying this problem by purchasing the same bat at a large discount, which is better than no help at all, so I'll put that as a "pro"... but don't expect that. I'm curious to see how well the replacement performs and if I can update this review, I will.
Cons: I get that wood bats break; I've broken them before. But this bat broke half-way through my first round of hits in a batting cage just a few days after this bat arrived at my house. The bat did not experience any extreme heat, cold, high humidity or dry air... at least after it came to my door. And I treat my bats with respect.

About the Brand
Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
