Pros: I needed a bbcor bat for high school and picked this bat. It has great pop and is for a contact hitter best alloy bat I ever had. Made a good choice on this bat
Cons: Does not have good pop on rawlings recreational balls their too soft other than that excellent bat
Pros: Like the 31/32" composite handle and the sound of the metal barrel. Fast bat; although advertised as a balanced bat there is a slight end load making it a good choice to make the transition to BBCOR. Hitting farther then ever before. Extended barrel compares to the more expensive composites thanks to the internal core technology. The bat has POP....but at a competitive price.
Cons: White tap handle will show
Pros: Got this bat for playing in High School, best perchase Ive made. Large sweetspot, absolutely no vibration, and pop is fantastic.
Cons: Grip wears down after a few uses. (I replaced it with LizardSkin after noticing this), and if not hit in barrel, ball will not go more than a foot due to 100% of the material is located in the barrel
Pros: at batting practice i hit one that bounced off the fence, zero vibration when i hit, midway through the season i started striking out alot and then when i used this bat i hit one over the shortstop's head
Cons: it's too awesome of a bat
Pros: Great pop off this bat. The first twenty hits of the season were remarkably better distance. Good line drives too. It's heavier by an ounce, and my son (14 yo) is also bigger, taller stronger, etc., but I still feel that this bat is an all around good pick. For 89.00 this bat is a steal over other bats of similar quality.
Cons: Your son has to fit into the lengths available, which are only 33 & 34. I have no idea about the durability, as I just bought it, but it seems nicely constructed.

About the Brand

As the industry leader for over 30 years, Easton Baseball/Softball has continued to raise the bar with innovation, originality and ingenuity. It began in 1969, when Easton produced the first true aluminum bat, and has continued throughout the past three decades with virtually all significant industry "firsts" having been pioneered by Easton: first CU31 bat; first C405 bat; first titanium bat; first Carbon Core bat; first Scandium bat; etc.
The trend continues today with bats such as the Tri-Shell and the ConneXion. The patented Tri-Shell design features a super elastic rubber sleeve sandwiched in between thin outer shells for unparalleled performance, feel, and durability. The patented ConneXion design takes a separate handle and barrel piece and mechanically interlocks them using a ConneXion” elastomer piece for outstanding flex, feel, performance, and vibration reduction. In the spring of 2002, Easton introduced the Tri-Shell ConneXion, merging the technological advancements of the two bats into one.
The bats are just a part of Easton's Baseball/Softball product stable. Easton carries a wide range of high-performance baseball and softball equipment including ball gloves and batting gloves, sport bags and other accessories. Each Easton product is engineered with the player's needs and specifications in mind to provide a competitive edge in the games of fastpitch and slow-pitch softball and adult, senior youth and youth baseball.
Of all aspects that have contributed to Easton's success, none is as important as the research and development Easton engineers put into every product. Easton's trademark of innovative research and development goes back to Doug's initial experiments with aluminum and continues today in a variety of high performance materials.
Along with the many milestones Easton has set in the sporting goods industry, a little-known fact is that Easton engineered and produced the thermal shroud for the seismometer used on the first Apollo lunar landing. Jim Easton, Chairman, has always placed great importance on expanding into new markets. And today, Easton's presence in the baseball/softball, hockey, and bike markets show its continued legacy of producing innovative, high performance products.
The Easton Sports Lab, located in Van Nuys, is one of the most unique testing facilities in the sporting goods industry. Originally established to study the parameters of Easton equipment, it has evolved into a lab that not only tests equipment performance, but human performance as well. The Sports Lab has become an invaluable tool with which Easton engineers continue to create superior products.
An example of their unique testing was proven when the Easton Sports Lab teamed up with tent manufacturer Sierra Designs to create sensors and integrated software to test a state-of-the-art tent design that is supported by Easton E9 tubing in the most extreme weather conditions. In actual mountain tests, with the wind blowing up to 96 mph, Sports Lab technicians were able to record the stress on the tubing to confirm its strength and durability.
At Easton, most of the engineers are also athletes in the sport in which they innovate and design product based on their own experience. The two-piece aluminum Easton hockey stick, for example, was developed by an engineer with a passion for hockey. He developed a design that would in time become the number one hockey stick in the National Hockey League.

Description
The Rawlings VELO has earned a reputation for being one of the lightest and fastest swinging baseball bats on the market from year to year and the newest version completely backs it up. Never in the history of baseball have more pitchers touched 90+ mph so hitters have less time to react at the dish, and there's no time for error. If the game is evolving to become this fast, then shouldn't your bat be? Thanks to the VELO's Silver Comp Lite composite end cap that is fiber reinforced, unnecessary weight is removed from the end of the barrel, shifting the MOI towards the player's hands. If your increased swing speed or the awesome cosmetics don't turn heads at the ball field, the enhanced pop and resonating ping from the acoustic alloy surely will. Rawlings' acoustic alloy enhances the durability and is the loudest alloy on the market - the proof is in the ping! Not only does this VELO offer the loudest ping in the industry, but the precision laser pOp 2.0 creates a lasered groove through the sweet spot that increases flexibility and the trampoline effect. Extreme balance, an explosive swing speed, and massive pop are the three things that make up the winning combination the VELO offers. Rawlings: The Mark of a Pro!
This Rawlings Velo BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB7V features a -3 length to weight ratio, a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter, and is BBCOR Certified for high school and collegiate play. The one-piece alloy construction is offered in 1/2 inch sizes and is backed by a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty. Purchase your VELO today with fast, free shipping!

Pros: This bat is extremely well balanced and has great pop. I've had this bat for about a month now and it still feels brand new, the only issue I have is the grip, it's rough on the hands/batting gloves (at least in my experience) and it tore on me after a couple weeks of use. A lizard skin would be a good quick fix to this nearly perfect bat.
Cons: The grip wore out and tore on my model.
Pros: My son had to jump to a BBCOR for next spring. Did some research and asked some other coaches. The Velo was highly recommended. Nice surprise; Well balanced, swing and hitting power! Not as traditionally dead for most BBCOR bats.
Cons: Very loud when hitting a baseball
Pros: I hit the Rawlings VELO and the Slugger 617 at a demo since both are composite end cap models. Both felt similar when swinging, but the two main differences I noticed was the great pop of the VELO and a much louder ping.
Cons: NONE
Pros: This bat has a great feel/pop to it. Ive put this bat to work in for many weeks of games/batting practice and i haven't had to put any lizard skin on it. The pop should probably be illegal for games. and I've only seen minor scratches on mine.
Cons: None
Pros: Moved from Mako to Velo. Researched a long time Balanced. More so than Mako. Great pop out of the wrapper, no break-in Launch bombs or rip hard line drives (Triple 1st ever @ bat) Sound of bat instill confidence. Best ping in the business Instant impact on son's hitting...should have bought earlier
Cons: Grip came unravelled after 1st net session. Lefty hitter Question durability of composite end cap with normal use 2017 graphics/color...meh
Pros: In my opinion, Rawlings bats in general are amazing. I have swung countless 5150's and Velo's and frm i understand the Trio's are great as well. This bat is a step above the others though. The ball flies off the bat and the carry is unrivaled. Whole team uses it, 5 bombs in 2 games and absolube missles in bp. The feel is the best of any bat I have ever felt too. Its not extremely top heavy as to where smaller guys cant control it and get it around but its not so balanced that the ball dosent carry. There is also great feedback when you strike the ball. When you square it up, the feel is unmatched. As with most alloy bats, when the ball is mis-hit, its not pleasent but that also teaches you to hit. Lastly, the burability is rediculous. My 5150 had been taking 150-200 cuts everyday for the better part of a year now and it just keeps getting hotter. Never had it break or chil. Simply put, YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG WITH THIS BAT BECAUSE IT IS WORTH EVERY DIME.
Cons: Not a thing.
Pros: This bat has successfully lived up to its older brother (the 2016 velo). Third day of hitting, I hit a 412 foot homerun with a 103 exit velo. Light enough to swimg fast, but heavy enough to have power behind your swing. Very balanced.
Cons: None.
Pros: See those 450 dollar composites? They should be ashamed selling those bats 150 dollars more than the velo. You can't get better than this. Great sweet spot size, amazing sound and pop, best balance, and this acoustic alloy really takes away all vibration. I've hit 70 mph pitches of the composite endcap with no sting. Trust me, I've done it tons cuz I suck. JK. This bat has top notch balance put up with the CF8(450 bucks) and I've swung both. Beats the Mako beast(450 bucks) in balance any day. The composite endcap does wonders for the balance. Overview: LOUD, light swinging bat with tons of pop with no vibration. If you can't take an end load and appreciate a balanced aluminum, this is for you! GET IT!!!!!
Cons: Nothing!!!!!!!!
Pros: This bat has a very light swing weight, and can be used for contact as well as power hitters. The grip is on the thicker side but it is very comfortable. I love the sound and feel of the sweet spot, and the pop is great. Never did I think the sweet spot was small.
Cons: -Scratches easily (cosmetic) that's about it. If you're looking for faster swing speeds and want an aluminum stick, consider this bad boy. -Typical vibration like any other one piece bat, but I don't mind it because it helps me adjust for the next at bat.
Pros: Bat was hot right out the box. Great Feel, balanced swing. I came across this bat by chance. The end cap came off of my old reliable and no one had a bat like mine so I used a teammates Velo. I wasn't sure how I would like a balanced bat being a power hitter but I quickly feel in love with the feel and pop of the Velo. After a few tournaments I bought my own.
Cons: None that I have found so far
Pros: Bought this bat for my son for the new baseball season. He is 6'3" 240lb junior in high school with interests from several D1 schools. He loves this bat. Extremely light with a stiff handle allows him to hit 90mph pitches with speed and power while also allowing that quick swing when waiting on that curve. A+++ on this bat
Cons: None
Pros: Awesome bat!! Alot of pop, sounds great, my son is 14 and swings a 32/29 for his high school team. we have mostly used Demarni composite bats which dont do well in cooler temps. we made the switch to this bat and as long as they keep producing this one we will never go back! love everything about this bat. we have not Experienced any issues with the wrap coming off yet like some other post have mentioned. Good balanced swing weight!
Cons: none unless you dont like hitting doubles in the gap!
Pros: Great bat!!!!! quick bat swing....great pop...2 over the fence first time used in practice. Can't evaluate durability as well as just got bat 2 weeks ago. Gave it all 4s as just got bat and still evaluating it.
Cons: to early to tell if there are any
Pros: Bat is LITERALLY a walking homerun! I got this for my junior year of high school, and I am batting .800 because of this bat, the POP is crazy good. This bat feels nicer than the bottom of a baby. MAKE SURE you pick up this bat, it is that good.
Cons: ABSOLUTELY ZERO CONS
Pros: The bat has been so reliable, every time I pick it up, I know it is going to be a bad day for the pitcher. Great pop, amazing grip, had this for 2 years now and it still feels amazing to swing. Very balanced and the sound off the bat scares everyone who is not paying attention.
Cons: NOTHING, if we are getting picky, do not hit off the end because it will sting.
Pros: I thought all BBCOR bats were the same. My son is about 5"2' and used to use a CAT 6. It was a great bat but felt it was slightly end loaded for him. He hit the ball well and it had good pop. We purchased the Velo 2017 after he tried one in a tournament. He said the bat "felt" balanced and he was also able to adjust his mechanics so he was hitting liners not big "pop ups" that kept getting caught in the outfield. This bat delivers what it says it does.
Cons: None
Pros: Fantastic balance. Large sweet spot. Consistently great pop. Amazing durability. My 17U player has swung nothing but the Velo for several years. He hits home runs with the Velo no problem. It takes a beating and performs like a champion. No need to spend hundreds more on a fancy multi-piece bat.
Cons: Feedback when hitting off the end of the bat. That's the price of using a good, stiff one-piece bat.
Pros: Really pleased with this purchase! Great balance and pop! My 12yr old son was using a 32" Rawlings 5150 -5 bat earlier this year and really liked it. The 5150 was just about as much bat as he could get around properly with so when I bought the Velo at 32.5" -3, I was worried the extra weight might be a problem for him initially. Not so! This bat has such great balance and feel that he swings it better than the -5 bat. So far he is loving it and the ball really comes off this bat crisply! I preferred the one piece alloy over a two piece or a composite... just a personal preference and this bat certainly has delivered in all aspects. This bat can go toe to toe with any other bat on the market.
Cons: NONE
Pros: This bat is truely my ole reliable, 3 years later still as hot as I got it out the wrapper. My whole team for school has used it, kids on the travel team, and it still has performed at the highest level. The pop is unreal, the durability is unmatchable. This truly my baby. Why would you get anything else???
Cons: Too many pros
Pros: used this bat for 3 years in college ball it has great feel, amazing pop, with good durability. easily the best one piece i have ever swung and will continue to use as long as it is on the market.
Cons: after a year usually develop dents but i swing 500 to 700 times a week so overall the bat can handle it.

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings' glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
