Pros: Looks good. Nice grip and graphics.

Cons: This bat has no pop at all. Got this for my 11 year old son and am very disappointed. Maybe we got a lemon, since the ball sounds like it is coming off a composite bat when my son hits the ball. Very disappointed.

Pros: My 10 year old son added a lot of pop from upgrading from an inexpensive clearance bat. The weight has great distribution and overall is a really nice bat.

Cons: Just opinion, but my son doesn't like the grip, too thin, and it has a large sweet spot, but if you don't hit right on it, a good amount of vibration.

Questions and Answers (6)

Have a question about the DeMarini Voodoo One Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVOZ? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this the replacement for the 2015 Demarini Voodo DXVDZ?
JB
The 2017 DeMarini Voodoo Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVBZ is a one-piece alloy bat.
Logan
How much breaking in will this bat need? Does it have a pretty liberal sweet spot?
josh
The 2017 DeMarini Voodoo One Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVOZ features an alloy barrel and thus does not require a break in period. As for the sweet spot, it will be comparable to other bats on the market.
Cameron
Is this bat legal for the 13 - 14 year old Senior Division of Little League?
jo
No, unfortunately the 2017 DeMarini Voodoo One Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVOZ is not legal for the Senior Division of Little League. The 2 3/4" barrel diameter is too big and it is not BBCOR certified, which is required for all bats in the Senior Division.
Jason
Is this bat legal for our 12 year old league?
S
The 2017 DeMarini Voodoo One Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVOZ is legal for USSSA baseball. However, if your league is requiring a USA stamp (ie. Little League, Pony, Babe Ruth, etc.) then this will not be allowed for use.
Tyler
How does this bat compare to the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo Overlord? That is my son"s favorite all time bat and we are looking for its twin. Would buy a used Overlord, but they are hard to find.
Brian
The closest bat DeMarini has right now for a youth player to the Overlord would be the DeMarini Voodoo, not the Voodoo One. The Voodoo One is a one-piece, all alloy design, whereas the Voodoo is a two-piece, hybrid design with an alloy barrel and a composite handle. This is a similar design to the Overlord, with the only difference being the Voodoo is a balanced model while the Overlord was an end-loaded model.
Kyle J.
Can this bat be used for Pony League?
P
No, this bat does not have the USA certification stamp that is required for Pony baseball. It is a USSSA certified bat.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.

Description

The Marucci CAT 6 GEN 2 bat combines all the elite features of a traditional CAT 6 but with one major difference. The exclusive and limited fierce red colorway. You'll not only turn heads when you take this bat out of your bag but you'll also turn on baseballs when you step into the box.

Marucci raises the stakes again with unbelievable new technology in the Marucci CAT 6 USSSA baseball bat. Through endless field testing with the top players in America, Marucci discovered that vibration in the top hand is the most common complaint amongst amateur baseball players. Marucci has acquired a patented new anti-vibration technology that blows the competition away. They hired noted bat scientist Dr. Daniel A. Russell to do some lab testing against the top bats on the market. The results were shocking. He found that the vibration dampening rate on the CAT 6 is 5.6 times higher than the next closest competitor! For the player, this means that they can step up to the plate worry-free with one thing on their mind; blasting one over the fence! This is literally the smoothest swinging bat ever produced.

Experience the difference of this one-piece bat made from the most responsive alloy in the industry. Marucci: Game Tested. Player Approved. This bat features the USSSA BPF 1.15 Stamp. The Marucci CAT 6 carries a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pop of a $400 bat Davis F Player

Pros: This bat is insane, the ball FLIES of this bat, and for $140 that's just crazy, and if I could I would buy this for -5 and -3 for future years. I really don't have anything bad to say about this. I rated the durability 4/5 because I haven't had it that long so I can't say if it's durable, but the gen 1 had really good reviews too. I am not a big power hitter, but every now and then I can hit one far, still haven't hit a home run yet, even with using the Mako Beast for the past year. With this bat, I have a feeling I am going to hit more than one. ha. Overall killer bat.

Cons: Really none except that if you hit it off the very end of the bat it kinda stings, but that going to happen with every bat. The tape is a bit tacky, but you can always replace it. Even then the tape isn't that bad.

Great bat Great price Rmc Parent

Pros: Great bat Great price Ball jumps off this bat! Had the posey in a -10 and moved my son up to a -8 because his bat speed was lagging with a -5 I had purchased. We are big on bat speed! Sons swing looks great and ball absolutely jumps off this bat. Thinking about purchasing a 33” bbcor for my high school player who swings a 32” posey now because the price is great.

Cons: None so far season is just starting we will see how it holds up.all our other maruccis have stood the test of time.

The right choice. TJ Coach

Pros: Very attractive bat but the real beauty is the performance! My son is 13 and not quite 100lbs. Coming off of a -10 mako to help get ready for school ball with heavier bats. We purchased him this 31" drop 8. The grip is sticky though thin. He has only had one hand stinger which was on a hit at the end of the barrel. Seems that the vibration dampening is legitimate! He says the swing feels smooth/balanced. When he hits the sweet spot, the ball flies off of this bat. Very nice "pop". We are both very confident this bat will continue to produce throughout the season. When he hits the sweet spot there is a satisfying "ping" sound and the ball jumps off the bat nicely.

Cons: The really is not much negative to say about this bat. The coloration will show white ball marks.

Cat6 Gen2 Da Bomb C. Ramon Coach

Pros: Bat has crazy pop! My 12u kid is raking with it. He hits the ball on average 20 to 30 ft further than his Cat8 -10. Also this bat holds up much better than the Cat8; no dents or cracking at all. Marucci has out done themselves with this one. Get it while you can, this bat can't be found anywhere else. Justbats for life customer :)

Questions and Answers (3)

Have a question about the 2019 Marucci CAT 6 GEN 2 -8 USSSA Baseball Bat: MSBC628? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

(1) I have read the Cat 7 has "twice" the sweetspot as the Cat 6. Is this true? (2) If so, is the Gen 2 on this bat any better than the regular Cat 6 in regard to sweetspot?
Brad Waters
(1) Yes, the way a CAT 7 is engineered on the inside of the barrel allows for it to have twice the length of sweetspot when compared to the CAT 6. That sweetspot enhancing technology featured on the CAT 7 is the Optimized Barrel Design. (2) This Marucci CAT 6 GEN 2 -8 USSSA Baseball Bat (MSBC628) is the same bat as the original CAT 6 except in regard to the color. The sweet spot on this Gen 2 will be smaller than what is on the CAT 7.
Ben
Is this little league approved for a 12 year old playing majors?
Katy Toler
The Marucci Cat 6 Gen 2 -8 has the USSSA certification stamp, which makes it legal for travel ball play in most cases across the country. If your league/tournament requires the USA certification stamp, this bat will not be legal for use. If you are unsure what your league or tournament requires, I would ask your coach or a league/tournament director.
Kyle
Are these bats legal in Babe Ruth 13-15 year old baseball?
Matthew Carmichael
The Marucci CAT 6 GEN 2 -8 USSSA Baseball Bat: MSBC628 is not legal for Babe Ruth 13-15 year old baseball. For this age group, a player must use either a USA or BBCOR stamped bat.
