Pros: I'm so glad they brought back the MAXUM. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get another one after I heard COMBAT went under. The sweet spot on this bat is HUMONGOUS. Seriously, it's like Everest.
Cons: I do feel a bit of sting but that's pretty typical with a 1 piece bat.
Pros: Bat has really good pop. Son used the Combat Maxum as a 14Uthis past year and loved it. He had lots of homers with this bat. As a 15U using the Combat Maxum BBCOR this fall. It has lots of pop and a large sweet spot.
Pros: Great pop right out of the box. Grandson ( 14 years old) hit a few balls 300 ft. the first time with this bat. I would say it has a lot of pop, and should get better in time. Not a bad price for what you are getting.
Pros: I am a HS Senior (2018) I am committed to a well known D1 College for baseball. I have had the opportunity to swing ALL of the "popular" bats. (Used LS Primes). I used the Combat Maxum 1/2 way thru summer season down at PG Events. I am telling you to run & get this bat. EXPLOSIVE OFF THE BAT !! The 1 pc construction bat lets power go right to the ball. LS is good bat, but Combat bat seriously made the ball jump.
Cons: Stinging!! The bat will teach you to square it up. If not, ouch. When you square it up, the ball flys effortlessly and it just feels good. LS Prime is forgiving on Miss hits, but I feel you trade off power for the anti vibration.
Pros: Like the 31/32" composite handle and the sound of the metal barrel. Fast bat; although advertised as a balanced bat there is a slight end load making it a good choice to make the transition to BBCOR. Hitting farther then ever before. Extended barrel compares to the more expensive composites thanks to the internal core technology. The bat has POP....but at a competitive price.
Pros: Got this bat for playing in High School, best perchase Ive made. Large sweetspot, absolutely no vibration, and pop is fantastic.
Cons: Grip wears down after a few uses. (I replaced it with LizardSkin after noticing this), and if not hit in barrel, ball will not go more than a foot due to 100% of the material is located in the barrel
Pros: at batting practice i hit one that bounced off the fence, zero vibration when i hit, midway through the season i started striking out alot and then when i used this bat i hit one over the shortstop's head
Pros: Very light evenly weighted bat. Great Pop. Good grip. Seems durable. You can NOT beat this bat for the money. I bought this as a team bat and a lot of the kids are using this instead of their bats. It has very good pop.
Pros: Great pop off this bat. The first twenty hits of the season were remarkably better distance. Good line drives too. It's heavier by an ounce, and my son (14 yo) is also bigger, taller stronger, etc., but I still feel that this bat is an all around good pick.
For 89.00 this bat is a steal over other bats of similar quality.
Cons: Your son has to fit into the lengths available, which are only 33 & 34. I have no idea about the durability, as I just bought it, but it seems nicely constructed.
Pros: son used for 2 years with good results . handed down to daughter playing 13 u 60 90. she hitting in the 5 spot . 12 hits and 9 rbi"s for the fall ,,]first time using bbcor. Great bat. Good solid bat.

Next year in PA high school baseball they want everyone using -5. Do you have this bat in a 31 inch -5?
Asked by ken
For high school play, one has to use a -3 BBCOR regardless of the state the player is in. The 2018 COMBAT MAXUM BBCOR Baseball Bat: AB8MX103 would qualify as a legal bat then for all high school and college players.
How does this Combat compare in balance swing weight compared to the 2017 Mizuno Maxcor and 2015 Easton Mako. Are two piece 2015 Mako bats for contact hitters?
Asked by Q
All three of these bats are considered to have balanced swing weights a should provide good swing speeds. Generally two-piece bats are better suited for contact hitters since they flex more during the swing and provide better vibration dampening on mishits.

Both the 2018 COMBAT MAXUM BBCOR Baseball Bat: AB8MX103 and the LS Solo 618 are one-piece balanced bats. With that said, the overall balance of the 2018 COMBAT MAXUM BBCOR Baseball Bat: AB8MX103 will carry a slight edge of the LS Solo 618.
What bat has a bigger sweet spot, the Easton Beast X Speed or the Combat Maxum? And which one is better for power?

I believe the 2018 Combat Maxum BBCOR (AB8MX103) will have a slightly larger sweet spot than the 2018 Easton Beast X Speed. Both bats are similarly designed for power however, since both will have a one-piece design.
Does the Combat have the same size barrel as the Beast X Speed? And is the barrel length the same?

All BBCOR bats will have a 2 5/8" barrel diameter, so yes they are the same size. The barrel length is fairly close on each model, but I would probably give a slight edge to the 2018 Combat Maxum.
How does this bat compare to the Easton Beast X Speed? Are there any major differences?
Asked by Bill
Comparing the 2018 COMBAT MAXUM BBCOR Baseball Bat: AB8MX103 to the Easton Beast X Speed would be like comparing apples to oranges. The overall balance might be slightly better on the MAXUM.
My son is 15 and making the transition to high school ball. Given his height at 5'8" and weight of 130 lbs, what would you recommend for length in the MAXUM?

Based on your player's height and weight, I would recommend the 2018 COMBAT MAXUM BBCOR Baseball Bat (AB8MX103) in either the 31"/28 oz or 32"/29 oz size. What would be done if the bat were to break within the 1 year warranty and there were no replacements available due to Combat basically being out of business?
Asked by Don
Easton and Combat were owned by the same parent company so, if this 2018 COMBAT MAXUM BBCOR Baseball Bat (AB8MX103) were to break within 1 year of your purchase, Easton would handle the warranty process. If they can't replace this exact bat, they would provide an Easton bat as similar to the Combat Maxum as possible.
Which is better for a contact hitter this bat or the MAKO Beast in your opinion?
Asked by BJ
I would probably say the Mako Beast as it is a two-piece design that is generally preferred a little more by contact hitters. The two-piece design allows the bat to flex and bend slightly more during the swing, providing a little more whip and making it easier to get the bat head through the zone.

You can always go up to a 31 inch model if you feel the player can handle the extra length and weight as this bat does feature a very balanced swing weight design.

This alloy barreled 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z) will have the potential to perform as highly as a composite barreled baseball bat. Asked by jacob
Since both the 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z) and the S3Z are BBCOR certified, they both must meet the same performance standards, which will limit the top performance for each bat. Because of this, they will have the same amount of "pop". Ultimately, it will come down to if you prefer a one-piece design, like the S3Z, or if you like the two-piece flex of the S2Z.
Is the S2Z different from previous S2 models?
Asked by KKK
The 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z) will feature a two piece hybrid design with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The S2Z does feature an updated alloy barrel, however the performance of the bat will be very similar to previous S2 BBCOR models.
Is the barrel length comparable to the Easton Mako?
Asked by pops
The 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z) is not going to have an extended barrel like the Easton Mako.
What kind of barrel is the S2Z? Besides good sweet spot, is the barrel alloy or is the barrel like the XL1 with the same type of core?
Asked by cody
The 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z) features a hybrid design, which means that it features an alloy barrel and composite handle. It will feature a barrel comprised of Easton's all new Hyperlite Matrix Alloy material. It will not feature a composite barrel, like the one featured on the XL1. The S2Z also features a balanced swing weight, whereas the XL1 will feature an end loaded swing weight.
Does this bat have good pop?
Asked by jack
The 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE Baseball Bat: BB15S2Z is a very high performing bat and is a great option for just about any player. It has an overall balanced design, but is not the most balanced option on the market because of the ZCORE technology that provides the bat with an extended barrel and bigger sweet spot.
What is the difference between the S2Z and the S1Z?
Asked by James
It would not be called the S1Z, that model is simply the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1). The difference between that S1 model and the 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z) is the design. The S1 is a fully composite, two-piece design while the S2Z is a two-piece hybrid design with an alloy barrel and composite handle.
I am 5'7" and 120 lbs with good bat speed. How drastic or how little is the end load on this bat?
Asked by Hudson
The 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z) features an extremely well-balanced design. It will not have any sort of an end-load. Typically, we would recommend this model for a contact to gap hitter.
What is the break-in process for this bat? My son is 15 years old, 5'11" and weighs approximately 180-190 lbs. I was thinking a 33" bat. What do you all suggest?
Asked by Ruben
The 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z) has a one-piece alloy design and does not require a break-in period. It will be hot right out of the wrapper. Based on your sons height and weight, we suggest a 33" model.
Is the barrel size the same on the S2Z and the XL1?
Asked by Jimmy
The barrel on the 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z) will be slightly shorter than on the 2015 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15X1) but it will feature a much more balanced feel giving it a lighter swing weight.
I am 15 years old 5'10" and 210 lbs. What length bat is recommended? Also, how does this bat compare to the Easton XL series?
Asked by B
I would recommend using the 33" 30 oz. model in the 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z). The S2Z ZCORE is a two piece hybrid with an extended barrel, giving it a slightly end loaded swing weight. The Easton XL series bats all feature an end loaded swing weight and are available in the 2015 XL1 (two piece composite) and 2015 XL3 (one piece alloy).
It says this bat is a hybrid. What does that mean?
Asked by clarkster
Hybrid means that the 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z) is going to have a composite handle and an alloy barrel.
Does the S2Z ZCORE come in a 30" 27 oz.?
Asked by AL
No, the 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z) does not come in a 30" 27 oz., the smallest size made was a 31" 28 oz.
