The COMBAT MAXUM is back and continues to push the limits to new heights. COMBAT has made a name for themselves with the MAXUM in the bat industry by consistently delivering an extreme combination of an ultra balanced feel, extremely fast swing weights, a HUGE sweet spot, and unparalleled performance. This COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX210 provides hitters with an almost unfair sweet spot that is 20-40% larger than competitor models! The MAXUM barrel covers more of the plate for more bases and more runs. Switching to the SL7MX210 will also result in an average of 38% Swing Weight Reduction which is the lowest swing weight ever! These models are one-piece, fully composite designs crafted with a seamless construction. A carbon-fiber sleeve runs the length of the bat providing uniform strength for a fine-tuned performance. Unlike typical composite bats that are created by rolling or overlapping layers of material, the MAXUM is produced with advanced Precision Molding Technology (PMT). The PMT process injects liquid resin into seamless high-quality carbon sleeves under extreme pressure. The result is an ultra-consistent product that eliminates seams and weak points that you get with the traditional process. No seams means no dead spots and in on the hands doesn't have to mean out at first base. Players can rest-assured that the MAXUM will deliver perfectly tuned performance over a longer lifespan. COMBAT is so sure of this ground-breaking design, each baseball bat is backed by a full twelve (12) month warranty and a 30 Day Money-Back Guarantee! If you're not satisfied with the performance of the MAXUM within 30 days from your purchase, send it back to JustBats.com for a full refund or exchange. Additionally, the SL7MX210 features the USSSA 1.15 BPF Certification, a -10 length to weight ratio, and a 2 3/4 inch barrel diameter. COMBAT: Measure Up to MAXUM! Get yours today with free shipping!
add_circle_outlinePros: My son hits great with this bat. Awesome pop and sounds just like the small barrel orange mako. Pop is probably even better than the small barrel mako.
remove_circle_outlineCons: -Paint chips easily (the same with all of these bats)
-Unfortunately, combat is going out of business. Heard Easton is discontinuing the combat line, what a shame . This Maxum is my sons favorite bat.
add_circle_outlinePros: My son is on an 11u AAA travel ball team that plays in four neighboring states. Since we purchased this bat, he has hit 5 home runs and his batting average went up tremedously. The bat has awsome pop and the ball comes off of it fast. I highley recommend this bat for a serious travel ball player!
add_circle_outlinePros: Bought the bat for my 8yr old son. He likes the way it feels and no vibration at all. Pop is getting better with each use, only had the bat for about 2 weeks so cant rate properly on durability!!
remove_circle_outlineCons: None at this time, we will see how the durability turns out.
My son is turning 9 years old on December 12th and will be participating in a 9u travel league program. He is currently 4'10" and weighs 122 pounds, and has above average strength for his age. I am planning on ordering this bat with 31 Length and 21 OZ (-10). His travel coaches are telling me that this will be way to big for him but I don't think so. Curious to hear your thoughts on this.
Based on your sons height and weight, I would recommend the 30 inch, 20 oz 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX210, but it is all down to personal strength and preference.
How many swings are recommended to break-in this bat?
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX210 is pretty hot out of the wrapper. However, we feel it will benefit from about 50-100 swings
Do the SL7MX210 and SL7MX211 have the same performance characteristics? What are the differences between bats other than the drop of 10 and 11?
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX210 and the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -11 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX211 are going to be very similar performance and the only difference would be the weights of the bats. With that said, a hitter would typically get more pop from the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX210 due to this bat being an ounce heavier.
If this is a 2017 bat, why is it discounted so much already?
Normally we can't offer lower prices on 2017 models due to manufacturer restrictions. However, COMBAT was recently dropped by its parent company, so we bought out a large stock of their remaining bats, allowing us to sell them at lower prices.
What is the difference with this model compared to 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL210?
The main difference between the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX210 and the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL210 will be the colorway. Other than that these are the same bats.
If COMBAT basically no longer exists, how will the bat be warrantied?
Any COMBAT bats, such as the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX210, that are advertised with a warranty will be carried out by either Easton or, if placed at JustBats.com, through JustBats.
I just bought one of these. If I have correctly interpreted the previous answer, then as of 2018, Combat bats will no longer be produced? If so, it is a shame. This was my sons favorite bat.
Yes, unfortunately Easton shut down the ComBat brand and as of 2018 they will not be produced anymore. They were very good bats.
I purchased this bat for my 9 year old son for Christmas. The barrel is starting to chip a lot. Is anyone experiencing the same thing? Is there anything I can do about this?
We are not aware of this being a common issue with the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX210. As bats are used they will start to experience imperfections such as paint chipping but this will not affect the performance of the bat. The bat does feature a 12 month warranty but would advise using this one-time replacement for when the bat is defective.
Is there a temperature range for durability with a bat like this? Some of our games in the midwest are cold.
Really it is the same for every bat on the market regardless of material. It is best to use bats in temperatures above 55 degrees, especially composite bats like the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX210.
Why does Carter say that "Easton shut down the COMBAT brand and as of 2018 they will not be produced anymore"? This is not correct. They will continue to produce the MAXUM, per their own company's press release.
Unfortunately the COMBAT lineup of bats will be dissolved heading into 2018. Back on July 21, 2016 Performance Sports Group released an article that states "will continue to sell and market the current COMBAT MAXUM line of bats, but will immediately cease sales of all other COMBAT bats and product categories." Easton will more than likely incorporate technology from COMBAT's lineup into their own bats but as of today (2/27/17) there has not been word as to whether they will manufacturer the MAXUM for release in 2018.
Can I get this in a 2 5/8" barrel?
Yes, the SL7MX110 is the model with the 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Can you please compare this bat to the Demarini CF Zen-CBZ17
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX210 is a one piece composite bat with a larger sweet spot, so it will offer more stiffness than the CF Zen, which is a two piece composite bat.
What is the difference between this bat and the SL7MX110?
This bat has a 2 3/4" barrel diameter while the SL7MX110 has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Is the Maxum a much more superior bat to the Vigor line of bats and what are the differences if any?
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX210) is going to feature a much longer barrel than the 2016 COMBAT VIGOR -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (VIGSL110). Another major difference is the Maxum is going to be a much more balanced bat than the Vigor. Those are the two big differences between the two bats.
Looking for a bat for my 12 year old son. He is 5'1" and about 115 lbs. I was trying to decide not only on size, but whether the COMBAT -10 or the COMBAT -8 would be a better fit? Is there an advantage to one over the other?
Since your son is starting to get older, I might recommend looking to the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -8 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX108) over this 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX210). The reason I suggest the -8 size is because he will be required to swing BBCOR bats in high school and those bats will have a -3 length-to-weight ratio. Around 6th grade, it is good to start working towards the -3 bats. I think getting the the SL7MX108 in the 31"/23 oz size might be a good choice to start moving towards heavier bats.
What is the benefit of using the 2.75" diameter bat vs. the 2.625" diameter bat?
A benefit of using a 2 3/4" barrel such as the barrel size on the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX210) is that it has more surface area to hit the ball in comparison to a 2 5/8" barrel.
How does this bat compare to the 2017 Marucci HEX Connect?
This 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX210) will have an all-composite design to it and a balanced swing weight. The Marucci Hex Connect will also be all-composite and be balanced, however, the Hex Connect will be a two-piece bat. That two-piece design would allow the Hex Connect to offer more barrel flex at contact with the ball (when compared to the MAXUM).
Is this bat going to be legal for the year 2018?
Under USSSA rules, this 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX210) will be permitted for all USSSA divisions of play in 2018 (except for the 14U division).
Are you able to get this in a 31/21? Looking for a -10 in a 31/21.
Unfortunately, we do not have any 31'' 21 oz bat in the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX210.
Just wondering if Combat is in business anymore?
At the end of 2016, Combat was acquired by Easton. For the last two years, Easton has manufactured Combat models including the COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX210.
Say you were to hit with this bat out of the wrapper and weren't satisfied, could you return it still?
Yes, the COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX210 has a 30 day performance guarantee. You have 30 days to try it out and you can return it if you are not satisfied.

COMBAT is obsessed with making the "best bats" in the industry.
A product of the CE Composites brand, COMBAT entered the baseball and softball worlds in 2004. Since that point, the company has emerged as the fastest growing brand within the industries. Their bats have set a higher standard in all leagues and age ranges.
The brains behind COMBAT are not only regarded as composite design, manufacturing and engineering experts, but they are also die hard fans and players of the game. Above all, they strive to understand what players need and want. They truly live by their motto:
The Marucci Hex revolutionized what was attainable with a composite bat design, and now hitters who prefer the traditional feel and sound of a fully Alloy construction can wield that same ground-breaking technology you find only in Marucci bats! The Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 may look like a typical one-piece Alloy design, but under its electric neon green and silver paint scheme, this bat is truly innovative. Each MSBAHAX10 is forged from Marucci's new AZ4X Alloy and is individually tuned for optimum performance in each length it is produced. The Hex's barrel provides the maximum barrel length, and it is also ring-free which only maximizes the trampoline effect a hitter can create. The ultra-soft micro-perforated comfort grip and sting-free ergonomic knob round off this premium design by improving feel and control while reducing vibration. Marucci: Honor The Game! add_circle_outlinePros: My son is 8 and absolutely loves this bat. He replaced his CAT 6 with the 2016 HEX Alloy. It is a very well designed bat with tremendous pop right out of the box. No break in period required. This bat has great balance and a very large sweet spot. My son's confidence has even improved with the use of this bat. The sound it makes on contact is awesome. I have been approached by many coaches and parents at tournaments inquiring about how they can get this bat. Marucci has done it again.
Marucci Hit it out the Park... with the Hex Alloy!
add_circle_outlinePros: Performance/Pop is unmatched. Great bat for any age...I have a 8 & 13 yr old that swing this bat, best alloy bat on the market.
Very durable, have been taking 500 plus cuts a week since January....no dents and pop is still as if it just came out of the wrapper.
Kids love the sound when the ball comes off the bat.
We have had several parents and coaches inquire about where to get this bat.
add_circle_outlinePros: Excellent bat, I have bought multiple Marucci bats and this is by far the best one since the CAT5. My son plays on a 9U travel team and has been dropping bombs with the 29/19. He also has the composite Hex which is a good bat in its own right but he loves the feel of the allow and the ping.
add_circle_outlinePros: i have purchased 10-15 bats for my boys. this is the winner. they love it. tons of pop. weighted very well. big fan of this bat.
marucci got this one rt. never have been a marucci fan till now.
other kids on team use it over their bat.
add_circle_outlinePros: Both my sons play travel ball. My oldest had the Cat 6 32/27 and it has tremendous pop. The Hex alloy is a great bat. My youngest started hitting with it right away and the ball flies off the bat and has the awesome ping sound. Get this bat you won't be disappointed.
remove_circle_outlineCons: None so far but I have to see how durable the bat is.
add_circle_outlinePros: my son loves the bat. he loves the balanced swing weight, the sound, the feed back, and he likes the graphics. Pretty obvious that this bat has a lot of pop. The ball jumps off the barrell.
remove_circle_outlineCons: He hasn'had it that long and it already has a dent. not sure if this is a bad thing against marucci or just a negative against -10 alloy bats in general. they all dent.
add_circle_outlinePros: My son is 8yrs old and has been using this bat since the summer. He old bat was a Easton Mako, he seemed to never get the drive off of his Mako. This Marucci has been a pleasant surprise. My son is not a bulky kid, he is actually small framed. But he is able to rip the ball with this bat. I watch him in batting practice with his coach and see a big difference with the way the ball travels off the bat now vs how it did with the Mako. I highly recommend this bat. The coach who is a former pro seems to be impressed with the bat as well after taking a few swings with it. The Marucci has been very impressive so far.
add_circle_outlinePros: My son is 11, He has been using the Hex Alloy bat this fall and absolutley loves it. The pop in which the the ball come's off the bat is amazing. All the other players on his team is using it and they like as well. The bat is so well balance that it helps keep him balanced while swinging. Highly recamend this bat to all ages.
add_circle_outlinePros: Just got this bat this past weekend for my son who plays 10U travel ball. We went up in size from a 28/18 to a 29/19 but since the bat is so balanced he didn't really seem to notice the change. The bat has a lot of pop and a big sweet spot. First time swinging it he drove a outside pitch opposite field to the fence for a double. Oh, one of the teams we played had probably five or six of their players swinging the same bat.
add_circle_outlinePros: Great pop right out of the wrapper. My son has a lot of confidence hitting this bat and the old school ping and he is hitting harder/longer than he did with his previous Easton composite bat. Other Kids are already asking to use it and how to get one themselves.
add_circle_outlinePros: Pop out of the box, feel, balance
remove_circle_outlineCons: My 11 year old son had this bat for 2 1/2 months. It didn't even see game use. Had great pop out of the box and gave him added distance over other alloy bats. Only used for training 2-3 times a week in warm weather and indoor facility. It got a 2 inch crack on the sweet spot. This was a replacement for the Elite, which he dented badly after 3 months of use. I'm done buying Marucci.
add_circle_outlinePros: lots of pop great sound and good looking
remove_circle_outlineCons: will not bye or recommend this bat dented over one weekend replaced with bigger size and dented it again 2 tournaments latter my son is 11 and weighs 82 did not do that with Easton bat
add_circle_outlinePros: My 8 year old son loves the 27 17. We received this bat as a warranty replacement for the Cat 6 that dented after 11 months of heavy use! We have a hitting station in our garage and he's taken this to the cages three times. He loves it. The bat is well balanced and gets through the zone quick. The pop off this bat is ridiculous! He likes it better than the Cat 6 and it is hotter in my opinion. He took it to the field last week and is absolutely roping the ball!
add_circle_outlinePros: My son used the Easton S3 '13-'15 models the last three seasons with great success. He's a line drive/power hitter that prefers one piece alloy over composite. The '16 Marucci Hex Alloy is very similar in performance and has held up well through many batting sessions so far. It's by far the most popular "hot" bat in the Houston area...seems like every team has a few in their lineups. The "ping" off the bat is a head turner!!!
remove_circle_outlineCons: Grips ok, but replaced with Lizard skin.
add_circle_outlinePros: I can't honestly rate the durability because the bat just arrived today but I have to or the site won't take my review. Our first time out I was diving for cover on the pitchers mound and watching my son send balls into the outfield or rip burning grounders. This bat is the real deal. One of our baseballs is now completely misshapen. This bat could add some serious fun to our season.
remove_circle_outlineCons: None that I can see, hope the bat holds up over time.
add_circle_outlinePros: I will agree with other reviewing posts that the ball does have a lot more pop than the Easton S1 my son was using. It also has that distinctive sound that turns heads. The weight is balanced, but odd. The bat just cracked, but Marucci warranty has already contacted me about getting it back to them for replacement.
remove_circle_outlineCons: After 8 months of use my son literally opened up a 4 inch crack right in the sweet spot. He's not a power hitter and he doesn't share the bat with the team so this is all one kid use. We made sure that he didn't use it during cold weather and it was stored inside to eliminate environmental fatigue.
add_circle_outlinePros: Great pop out of the box, balanced feel, good customer service
remove_circle_outlineCons: Absolutely no durability!
My 12 year old has destroyed two of these bats. First one was a replacement for an Elite, which dented in a half season's use. The first Hex cracked within 2 months of use. Good customer service sent us a second one, which was an exception to their policy. We took it out of the box last weekend, and it had two huge dents within the first 20 swings.
All hitting done in warm weather/indoor facilities with real baseballs. If your kid swings hard and has some power, avoid this bat! The pop and feel of this bat are great out of the box, but I will not be buying any more Marucci bats.
add_circle_outlinePros: My 8yr old son hit 4 homers at his first tournament using this bat. Proud dad!! Loud pop!! Confidence builder! Teamate has one and got himself a homer also. You get what you pay for.
remove_circle_outlineCons: May need ear plugs at indoor batting cage.
add_circle_outlinePros: I coach a 10u team, and help out with a 12u team. Both groups have had amazing success with this bat. I have never left a bat review before, but this has been absolutely incredible. The pop and the durability have been terrific. We are careful with the bat - don't let it get too cold. And it's held up great so far, about 15 games into the season.
remove_circle_outlineCons: None so far, through 15 games.
add_circle_outlinePros: My son plays 9u ball and this is his first 2 3/4 bat. I purposely made him learn to swing on a 2 1/4 so he was not relying on a big sweet spot. When he used this for the first time with BP the ball jumped off the bat. The whole team, including myself was pretty amazed! Highly Recommended. We will see about durability. My son is not a hard swinger, but has very sound mechanics.
(Side note: this bat has so much pop I was pitching from the mount to him and he hit a liner right back at me. I had no time to react and the ball hit my wrist. I was impressed with the hit, mad I got hammered by a ball. I hope that this doesn't happen in a game and he hits a pitcher....)
add_circle_outlinePros: Replaced a Combat with my older son (11U major) bat with this one. It's dynamite. I'm not sure I believe the research that says composite has more pop. This bat has such good sound the feedback is awesome.
add_circle_outlinePros: My son loves the pop off of this bat. The pop and sound is noticeable. The barrel size for this bat is great. A very large sweet spot. I have not heard of one complaint from my son regarding vibration.
remove_circle_outlineCons: It takes a while to get used to the balance of the bat coming from a Demarini CF7. The tape used for the grip is a bit too thick but this is a user preference.
remove_circle_outlineCons: This bat is terrible, My 12 year old hit with it in two games and it already has dents in the bat for the price it's a rip off. It's a shame that these bat company's charge so much for there bats most of them are junk...............
add_circle_outlinePros: i bought this bat when it first came out. it changed my game around completely. i now play on a travel team. it has perfect pop, it's extremly hot, the bat feels so lite it feels like you are swinging nothing. my friend ditched his cat7 to use this bat
Although the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) offers a massive barrel, it has a balanced swing weight.
Is this bat for a contact or power hitter?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) will be a great bat for both contact and power hitters. With the balanced swing weight and the maximum length barrel, both contact and power hitters will be able to feel and generate full performance with the Hex Alloy.

The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) features an all-aluminum design and will perform at peak limits right out of the wrapper. There will be no break-in period, so you will get a substantial amount of performance instantly.
How long will the pop last in this bat since it is an all-aluminum bat?
Unfortunately, we're unable to estimate the exact life of any bat. But the performance of the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) will outlast most due to Marucci"s new AZ4X Alloy. Through extensive testing, Marucci has developed their highest performing and most durable alloy to date in order to provide the best possible one-piece aluminum bat for all players.
What is the 'Sting-Free Comfort Knob'?
Marucci's "Sting-Free Comfort Knob" is a highly durable knob produced from a vibration-absorbing nylon material designed to help eliminate sting and vibrational feedback from hard hits on and off the barrel. The knob is also geometrically designed to contour to the bottom of player"s hands for nice, smooth, and ergonomic fit.
What does 'ring-free barrel technology' do?
While other companies produce bat designs that incorporate aluminum or composite rings inside the barrel walls of their bats, Marucci takes the time and effort to engineer bats that have no rings or limiters / governors within their barrel walls. This feature allows the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) to offer players maximum trampoline effect and more power.
Will this bat be made in 2 5/8'?
Absolutely. The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) will be available in a 2 5/8' version, but release dates have not been confirmed yet.
What exactly does "Maximum Barrel Length" mean?
Marucci"s new AZ4X Alloy allowed the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) to be designed with an all-aluminum barrel that matches the length and size of most composite bats out on the market, but performs at peak limits right out of the wrapper without worrying about a break-in period. Generally, only composite barrel bats are able to be produced with longer and bigger barrel lengths without making the bat end loaded.
How would this bat compare to the 2015 Easton S3 Senior League bat? What size would you recommend for a 9 year old 52 inches tall, 57 lbs?

The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) uses a different alloy and has a different drop weight than the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68).
Is this bat BBCOR rated and what is the difference between Youth & Senior?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) is not BBCOR certified. Youth Big Barrel and Senior League mean the same thing. It is a youth model with a big barrel diameter.
Could this bat be used for kids that want to hit to get on base and not a home run? My son is only 4 foot 7 and 75 pounds.
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) could be used by either a power hitter or contact hitter. It is well balanced and should be a light weight for a contact hitter to generate good bat speed and form with.
Do you carry this bat in -9 or -8?
No, we only carry the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) in a -10 drop.
Which bat would be better for a 2 or 3 hole hitter who hits for contact but has power. My son is 5 foot 5 and weighs 117 pounds. Would a 31 inch 21 ounce be okay? Also, how does this Marucci Hex bat compare to the Rawlings Prodigy Hybrid with whip technology? The AZX4 alloy vs prodigy alloy?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) and the 2016 Rawlings Prodigy Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (SLRP34) compare extremely closely. That size should work well for your player. The preference between the two would come down to brand or style preference. Both are nice options.
How does this bat compare to the Marucci Cat 6?
u7 coach pitch
The Marucci CAT 6 and 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 are both very well balanced one-piece alloy bats. The CAT 6 will feature a higher grade alloy.
Will this bat dent with rubber cage balls? Is their a warranty against denting?
While the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) is covered for denting under warranty, you would still not want to use yellow dimpled cage balls with it as it can cause damage that you would not see with actual softballs.

The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 and the 2016 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16S310 are both excellent baseball bats. Both bats are going to be a -10 one-piece alloy design with a balanced swing weight and similar price tag. What is the difference between the Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat MSBAHAX10 and the Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat MSBAHAY10?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 and the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAY10 are going to be very similar bats except the MSBAHAX10 features a 2 3/4 in barrel diameter while the MSBAHAY10 features a 2 5/8 in barrel diameter.
My son is 55" tall and weighs 56 lbs. He is currently swinging a 27/17. What size do you recommend in the Hex?
Given his height and weight, I would recommend going with the 29" 19 oz. model of the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10.
Would you recommend this Marucci MSBAHAX10 or the new 2016 RIP IT for my soon to be 10 year old who is 4 foot 6 and weighs 70 pounds? The last two years he used a 28 inch black RIP IT from 2014.
Both the 2016 RIP-IT Element ONE Senior League Big Barrel Baseball Bat (SL10B) and the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) are nice options. They are extremely similar by design, so the preference would come down to which style you prefer.
My 7 year old swings a 28 inch 18 ounce Rawlings 5150 with a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter and I was looking for a new one or switching to a different alloy. We will be sticking with -10 and was wondering if the Marucci would be an upgrade?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) compares well with the 2016 Rawlings 5150 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL5R34). Given their similarities, it would be tough to say if one would be an upgrade over the other as this would be a matter of preference.
Would you recommend this bat for my son who plays 12u travel baseball for a AAA team? He's a good line drive and contact hitter but is looking for more power.
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) is a one-piece alloy design and this design would be a good option for a power type hitter as the one-piece allows for a stiffer feel. If you wanted to get the "prototypical" power hitter bat, it would be a one-piece bat (either alloy or composite) with an end-loaded swing weight.
What would be a benefit getting the 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter bat instead of 2 3/4"?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 in a 2 3/4 inch barrel would give a player a greater chance of being able to miss hit a ball and still get good distance/feel on the batted ball. The benefit of the 2 5/8 inch barrel would be that this is the barrel size one would have to use in high school and college and also makes players focus more as a poorly hit ball on this barrel size will not be as forgiving as on the 2 3/4 inch barrel.
What would the difference between this bat (MSBAHAX10) and the MSBX1014-R Red bat that would make us decide between the two?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 is going to feature the AZ4X alloy construction; the construction of this bat will be more durable than the AZ3000 alloy in the
Marucci ONE Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBX1014-R Red. Other than that, both bats are good bats to consider and are going to perform similarly. Both bats are one-piece alloy designs with balanced swing weights.
Would this be a good bat for my 10 year old who's playing in the Majors Division of Little League?
If your player is in the Majors Division of Little League, this bat will not be legal as it has a 2 3/4" barrel diameter. I would recommend viewing the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat (MYBHA12) which has a legal 2 1/4" barrel diameter.
Is this bat more end loaded or evenly balanced compared to a Cat 6 or any of the Easton 2 piece bats?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 will feature a balanced swing weight like the Marucci Cat 6 and the Easton two-piece bats that do not feature "XL" in the product heading.
What is the difference between the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat than the 2016 Marucci Hex Youth Baseball Bat?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 features a 2 3/4" barrel diameter while the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Youth Baseball Bat: MYBHA12 features a 2 1/4" barrel diameter.
Is this a big barrel bat?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 is a big barrel bat as it features a 2 3/4 inch barrel diameter.
My son is 13 years old. Is this bat legal for Pony League play? If so, is the youth version also legal?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 is not legal for play in Pony. Pony does not allow the barrel diameter to exceed 2 5/8". The youth 2 1/4" barrel option is legal for play in the Pony division of Pony though.
If I am correct. a Junior Big Barrel bat has a thinner wall than a Senior League Big Barrel bat. Does this mean a JBB bat will be hotter and have more of a trampoline effect than a SLBB bat? If this stands true, the Marucci CAT 6 JBB will be hotter and have more trampoline effect than the Marucci Hex Alloy SLBB.
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 will have thicker barrel walls than the Marucci CAT 6 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC6. In essence, the Marucci CAT 6 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC6 would be hotter as it will feature thinner barrel walls compared to the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10. However, the Marucci CAT 6 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC6 is designed for coach pitch only leagues as these thinner barrel wall bats will dent very easily and become defective when velocity is over 40 MPH. Also, a Junior Big Barrel bat is designed for younger players who will not be able to generate as much bat speed as high bat speed can also lead to the bat becoming defective in a short amount of time.
What size bat do you recommend for my son. He's 4'10" and 75 lbs.
Based on your son's height and weight, I would recommend that he swing a 30" length. That would be a 30" 20 oz. in this particular model of the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10.
My son is 4'5" and weighs 63 pounds. He's been hitting with the 28" MAKO junior 2 3/4" big barrel, but hasn't gotten nearly as much pop as with his former 28" Easton S3 2 1/4" bat he used last spring. Suggestions?
Based upon your son's height and weight, I would recommend using a 29" 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10.
How does this bat compare to the Anderson Flex for a 12 year old? He is about 5' tall and weighs 95 lbs. Is a 30" or 31", -10 a better size?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 and the Anderson Flex are two very comparable bats. They both feature one-piece alloy designs with balanced swing weights and have similar performances. Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 30" model.
Can this bat be used in Little League?
This 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) has a 2 3/4" barrel diameter and will not be allowed for use in any division of Little League because of that diameter.
What is the difference in the 2015 Hex Alloy and the 2016 Hex Alloy? What size bat would my 10 year old, 56", and 83 pound son need?
Actually, the only Hex Alloy bat that has been released is this 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10). There actually was not a 2015 model of the Hex Alloy. Based upon your player's height and weight, my general suggestion would be a 29" option of this 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10). As long as your player can handle the 19 oz weight of the 29" option of this bat, I would recommend that size option.
When does this bat commonly go on sale?
We can't put a bat on sale until a manufacturer allows us to drop the minimum advertised pricing. Marucci has not yet but there are getting ready to release a bunch of new models, so they may allow us too. Just not sure yet.
My son is just under 100 lbs and is 5'3" playing 14U this fall/next spring. We need a drop 5 or 3 - makes a lot of contact but doesn't hit for power. Used a 31/19 for most of the season and 31/21 when we faced slower pitching. We need something that is not end loaded. Was looking at this bat or any other bat you suggest. Also, do you think we should consider dropping to a 30" now that the bat is going to be much heavier?
You could definitely drop to a 30" if you feel like it was needed. But I think he will be fine with a 31". I would highly recommend the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10. It is a very balanced bat and will feel light.
(1) From my understanding, this can be used in Top Gun travel ball, but can not be used in Little League Recreation ball; is that correct? (2) Also, my son is 9 yrs old and he is 4'7" and 65 pounds. I was thinking about the 29"/19 oz size. Is that what you would recommend?
(1) This 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) features USSSA 1.15 BPF certification and a 2 3/4" barrel diameter. Because of those features, it should be legal in just about all travel ball circuits, but will not be allowed in any division of Little League sanctioned baseball. (2) Based upon your player's height and weight, my general recommendation would be to go with the 29" length option as long as your player can handle the resulting 19 oz weight.
Can you use a 27" 17 oz. bat in kid pitch?
The 27" 17 oz. 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 is intended to be used for kid pitch. Since it is a senior league model, it has thicker barrel walls to withstand the pitching speeds of kid pitch.
I am looking at the 30"/20 for my 10 year old. Do you have another bat you'd recommend comparing to this one?
If you wanted another bat to which you could compare this 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10), I would recommend looking at the 2016 Louisville Slugger Omaha 516 Senior League Baseball Bat (SLO516X). Both bats are 2 3/4" barrel, all-aluminum and both receive solid reviews from customers. I think a comparison of the two would be good to check out.
What size Hex would you recommend for an 8 yr old, 4'9" 88 lbs? Have been swinging a 2014 Easton XL3 28/19.
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 in a 30 inch 20 ounce model.
My son has been swinging an Easton MAKO for the past 2 years. He's 5'1" and weighs about 136 lbs. His current bat is a 29"/19 oz size. What size bat should we get?
Based upon your player's height and weight, you could consider moving him to a 31" length bat. I might suggest looking for a bat with a -5 or -8 length-to-weight ratio. This 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) with its -10 length-to-weight ratio might be a little light for him at his size.
My son is 5'3" and a slender 85 lbs. He swings his younger brother's Hex Alloy 29"/19 oz and hammers it. What size would be appropriate for him (I'm thinking 31"/21 oz)?
Based upon your player's height and weight, I think that a 30" length of bat would be good for him. Since he has been using a 29"/19 oz size and been doing well, I don't think you need to move all the way up to the 31"/21 oz size. However, we have this 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) in the 30" and 31" sizes. The 30" would be best for this exact point in time, but the 31" would last the longest for him into the future.
My kid is 4'2" tall and he weighs about 82 lbs. He's 7 years old. What size should he use?
We would suggest a 28-29" length of bat for someone his size.
Did Marucci drop this bat from the 2017 lineup? I can't seem to find a newer version, which is terrifying because this bat is so good!
No, Marucci did make the Hex Alloy for 2017. We have it in a -9 version, the MSBAHAX9.
How would this compare to the Easton S3 senior league 2.75 barrel in regards to pop and durability?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 is similar to the Easton S3, as both feature the same construction design, one piece alloy.
My 6 yr old son is playing 7U coach pitch and using a Easton Mako Beast 26/14. His league just banned the use of composite bats so his coach recommended the Hex Alloy bat. Do you recommend this bat or a Cat 6 or Cat 7 in 26/16? He will be playing kid pitch in a couple if seasons.
If you wanted to use the bat for more than a couple seasons I would recommend the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) in a 27/17. If you were just planning on getting a bat for the end of coach pitch I would recommend getting the Marucci Cat 7 Junior Big Barrel in the 26/16.
Do you have any word on this bat's replacement? I see they have taken it down from their website and I can't find anything about what's coming out.
We have not received any word on what may replace the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 at this time.
Is this bat comparable to the 2014 Marucci One?
Yes, the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 would be comparable to the Marucci One. Both bats were a one-piece alloy design. The Marucci Hex does use the new AZ4X alloy.
My son is 10 years old and is 60" and approximately 100 lbs. What is the recommended bat size?
Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 30" model in the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10.
What is the difference between the HAY and the HAX?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 has a 2 3-4 inch barrel diameter, whereas the MSBAHAY10 has a 2 5-8 inch barrel diameter.
I am going into eighth grade baseball and I was wondering if this bat would be good? I am 6 ft tall. 31 inches 21 ounces?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 would be a good bat for you. Although because of your height and age I would suggest going to a -8 or a -5.
Is this bat durable enough for 9u kid pitch?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 will be durable enough for kid pitch.
My son is 8 going on 9 and he's playing now in coach pitch but next year will be in kid pitch, so we need a good bat for him.
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 is a great bat to consider for a player seeking a bat for kid pitch. This bat will feature a two-piece fully composite design with a balanced swing weight. The two-piece design will help ease the stinging sensation a player feels when not squaring up the ball and the balanced swing weight will make it easier for younger players to handle.
Can I use this bat for Pony league after the new rule for 2018?
The 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) will not be legal for Pony league. The bats must have the USA stamp.
Can I get this bat in a 29/19?
Unfortunately we only have the 27" and 31" models left for this 2016 bat.
What's the difference between this bat and the 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2?
The main difference between this Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) and the 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHA2X10) will be the updated AZ105 Alloy on the Hex Alloy 2 that allows for thinner barrel walls, more performance and better durability.
Is it made at 29 in length 17 oz?
The Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 is a -10 length to weight ratio bat. Thus any 29 inch model would be 19 ounces.
Will this bat be legal with the new USA baseball bat rule in most leagues?
The Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 is a USSSA certified bat. You will want to look for bats with the USA Baseball Stamp if you are playing in AABC, Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken, Dixie Youth, Little League, & Pony.
Since this is an older model bat, and I have read the reviews about cracking and dents, does this bat still have a warranty on it?
Yes, these bats purchased new will still have the 12 month warranty through Marucci.
How does this bat compare to the 2018 Cat 7?
This Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) is similar to the 2018 Marucci CAT 7 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC7X10) in its basic design. Both bats are one-piece, all-alloy bats. However, the Cat 7 will feature advanced alloy material, a larger sweet spot and an anti-vibration knob.
I have a young 9 year old who is swinging a 28/18 with solid contact, however I worry a bit about bat speed, he is 52 inches/68 lbs. Does he need to stay where he is, or could he benefit from the Hex 27/17?
Per your son's height and weight, we would recommend using the Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 in a 28 inch model. If you feel his bat speed would be slowed down considerably using a 28 inch model then there is certainly nothing wrong with going down one inch and one ounce.
How would this bat compare to the Marucci F5?
The main differences between the Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 and the F5 are that the Hex Alloy offers a sting free comfort knob to reduce sting on contact while the F5 will offer a multi-wall construction to expand the sweet spot and improve the overall durability.
Do they make a 28-18? All I see are 27-17.
The Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 was made in a 28/18 but we have sold out of all sizes minus the 27/17. Since this bat is a closeout model we will not be able to restock any sizes.
