Description
New for 2017! The COMBAT MAXUM is back and continues to push the limits to new heights. COMBAT has made a name for themselves with the MAXUM in the bat industry by consistently delivering an extreme combination of an ultra-balanced feel, extremely fast swing weights, a HUGE sweet spot, and unparalleled performance. This 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX110 provides hitters with an almost unfair sweet spot that is 20-40% larger than competitor models! The MAXUM barrel covers more of the plate for more bases and more runs. Switching to the SL7MX110 will also result in an average of 38% Swing Weight Reduction which is the lowest swing weight ever! These models are one-piece, fully composite designs crafted with a seamless construction. A carbon-fiber sleeve runs the length of the bat providing uniform strength for a fine-tuned performance. Unlike typical composite bats that are created by rolling or overlapping layers of material, the MAXUM is produced with advanced Precision Molding Technology (PMT). The PMT process injects liquid resin into seamless high-quality carbon sleeves under extreme pressure. The result is an ultra-consistent product that eliminates seams and weak points that you get with the traditional process. No seams means no dead spots and in on the hands doesn't have to mean out at first base. Players can rest assured that the MAXUM will deliver perfectly tuned performance over a longer lifespan. COMBAT is so sure of this ground-breaking design, each baseball bat is backed by a full twelve (12) month warranty and a 30 Day Money-Back Guarantee! If you're not satisfied with the performance of the MAXUM within 30 days from your purchase, send it back to JustBats.com for a full refund or exchange. Additionally, the SL7MX110 features the USSSA 1.15 BPF Certification, a -10 length to weight ratio, and a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter. COMBAT: Measure Up to MAXUM! Pros: Huge sweet spot Great pop Quality Drop -10 is nice for kids with more strength Confidence builder Vibration decent, you will get some when hit on wrong spot with any bat, again sweet spot helps withvibration
Cons: Price Identical, very similar to last years model
Pros: My 11 year old son is 5'3" 110 pounds and plays travel ball on a couple different teams across the Midwest. We tried this bat on the recommendation of his Swing Coach. We noticed a lot of pop out of the wrapper. My son has tremendous bat speed so the exit velocity was unreal. Also on the off chance he did have a mishit, the large sweet spot still sent the ball flying. Had seen mention of some sting in the hands, but my son hasn't complained once about that. But then again the vibration usually happens on mishits. Not sure how it will hold up over the vigorous tournament schedule on tap for this spring but everything so far has been great.
Cons: none so far
Pros: This is the first combat I have ever bought. The bat is pretty good out of the wrapper but after about 250 swings, it gets HOT! I would never spend money on a Zen when I could buy a bat like this for less money with the same pop!
Cons: nothing
Pros: My 11 yo son increased his batting average from .250 to .544 in 5 games with this bat. The ball flies off of this bat like a rocket! The large sweet spot is really helping out. Now 4 other kids have ordered the bat and are also seeing the difference.
Cons: No cons as of now.
Pros: My son plays 10u travel ball. He has used the bat in the first two tournaments and hit one out in the second tournament. If you hit the ball well it will go, if you miss hit it, your in trouble. The very end, about 2 inches seems like a dead spot to hit it. Anywhere else your in good shape. I would recommend it. Good confidence builder. Third combat to own and have been please with everyone.
Cons: Stings the hands a little. Mishits on end of bat don't go out of infield.
Pros: Massive Sweet Spot Balanced Feels lighter than -10 Pop...Lots of Pop The length of the sweet spot of the barrel is industry defining technology due to the one piece composite as understand. They don't need the extra few inches to weld two pieces together. Also, the pop is legit. My kids say the swing weight feels as light as their -12's, which tells me it has great balance.
Cons: Last 2 inches near the end of bat is a big dead spot. Mishits at that location seam to have even less pop than other bats, at the same locations. But it's made up for in the massive pop in the correct sweet spot of the barrel (which is extremely large. Vibration like at the dead spots (last two inches of bat, and far inside). Can be easily managed with a rubber taper or a rubber vibration knob. The pop from the sweet spots makes you not really care about vibration from a mishit.
Pros: Adding durability to the Pros...sons used this over 21 games, and 2 practices per week now for the entire spring & summer. Also every other week, hitting in the cages. Bat is maybe better now, than ever. Pop is on the same level as the CAT7, which has also alot of pop for a youth bat. Where MAXUM separates itself from the CAT7 is the length of the sweet spot. Maxums sweet spot extends about 2 inches further in toward the handle, which is a massive sweet spot.
Cons: vibration at the very end of the bat. Hit it anywhere else on the barrel and watch it fly. As others have posted. Maybe the last inch or two inches of bat has vibration & dead spot.

Pros: Good pop. Ball comes off bat fast. My 7 year old son has hit two inside the park homeruns. I don't mean 7 year olds fumbling the ball homeruns I mean hitting the ball over heads and rolling to the 223' part of the field. He has hit a few doubles and numerous singles. He enjoys hitting with this bat. Great bat to gain confidence. After his second homerun he stated, "Dad I'm so proud of myself."
Cons: Seemed to me the bat needed to be broken in. After about 50-100 hits through practice this bat started to perform.
Pros: Great purchase for the first year of kid pitch. My son is 7 and has been hitting well with this bat. He has a hard hit double to the fence in each game this spring. I bought the 27/17 for a seven year old and he feels confident at the plate. The bat has a unique sound to it and i really like it! The entire team is using this bat now. For the price you can't beat it so buy the bat and let your kid make contact and become a better hitter before dropping serious money on a bat.
Cons: For 50 bucks...none!
Pros: Solid feel with good pop right out of the wrapper. Feels lighter than its true weight which is good for us. My son went 3-3 in his first fame with this bat with solid line drives after struggling to make solid contact with his other bats all season. Its given him the confidence we have been lacking so far!!
Cons: None to mention at this point.
Pros: Looks and swings fine, it's just dead. My 8U all star team used this as the team bat to hit heavy balls in warm ups so we didn't mess up anyone's bat that actually has pop. It's not awful and actually hits pretty well for my 4 year old, but the older kids with power...it just doesn't have any.
Cons: Just has no pop. It sounds like hitting with a cardboard box and is just dead.
Pros: cheap price, entry bat for a young player
Cons: I have gone through 2 and both lost their pop and sounded hollow after a few hits. You can hear the change. Justbats makes you work with Demarini and they will only replace the bat once. Save you money and buy something else and perhaps from somewhere close to where you live so you can get a better warranty. I would not recommend this purchase.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."
In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.
Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.
To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.
In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.
Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.
With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).
In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.
Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.
In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.
More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
