Big Vicious Fan! JG Player

Pros: I've been buying the Miken Vicious every year and this year's model is by far the best. I like the new addition of an end load and the graphics. Can't go wrong for the price! Tons of pop out of the wrapper.

Cons: grip is a little generic but I use my own grip anyways.

Hope it performs better in the future Joe Kaiser Player

Pros: Looks great

Cons: While the bat looks great, the few times I've been able to use it have resulted in zero pop off the barrel. It honestly felt like something was wrong with it, but I suppose I'll keep using it and hope it just takes a while to break in.

Pros: Graphics look nice, barrel is large, break in time was short

Cons: WOW is this thing heavy (27oz). This thing is uber end loaded, more so than any other bad I’ve used. Very hard to get on top of the ball with the heavy weight and end loaded feel. Pop is so so, I would recommend a more balanced bat

Awesome Right out of the Box James Player

Pros: Counter weighted for extra swing speed. I went 3 for 3 in the first and only Game I've had a chance to use it. That included One Very long shot to the fence for a Triple when I got a solid hit with the full barrel of the bat. I used it in BP and was crushing the ball with little effort.

Cons: I'm not a big fan of the two part design, mainly because I tend to extend my arms and hit the ball on the handle a lot. So Standing far enough away from the plate is crucial.

Is this bat legal for Senior Softball leagues?
Randy
Yes, the Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MPV19T will be allowed in Senior Softball Leagues but keep in mind that it is a lower performing model than what Senior Softball Leagues allow. If you were wanting to maximize your performance it would be advised to use an SSUSA approved model.
Tyler
What is the diameter of the handle?
Hess Lee
The diameter of this handle is roughly 1", with a bat grip diameter of what appears to be 1mm grip tape.
Kyle J.
Is this bat better than a single wall bat?
Alex
The Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat (MPV19T) model is a multi-wall design.
John
So this bat isn't composite?
Art
The Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MPV19T will be a two piece alloy model, which is not composite. The Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MPV19T will feature a multi-wall barrel design will a .5 oz end load.
Max
Is this bat rated at 1.20 or 1.21?
Charles
This bat will have a 1.20 BPF rating. 1.21 is only allowed on Senior Slowpitch bats.
Kyle J.
How durable is this bat compared to say DeMarini Raw Steel? Also, does it have more pop than the Andersons Rocket Tech double wall?
Zeke
The Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MPV19T will be extremely durable, because of the 100% E-Flex 700 Aluminum Construction it will hold up over time. The 100% E-Flex 700 Aluminum Construction and and the Anderson Rocket Tech will have similar performance, due to the fact that both the Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MPV19T and the Anderson Rocket Tech will have dual stamp certification.
Max
Is this a double-barrel bat?
Malik Williams
Miken lists this Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat (MPV19T) as having a multi-wall barrel design. Because of that listing, most people would consider this bat a double-wall bat.
Ben
Can I get it in a 30 oz?
Zeke
Unfortunately, we do not have the 2019 Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MPAV19 in a 30 oz model, we do have the 28 oz in stock.
Max
What flex does the bat come in?
Colton Burns
The Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MPAV19 is a two-piece alloy bat so it will flex on contact. Unfortunately it would be impossible to say how much the bat does flex on contact.
Cameron
What is the difference between this year's model and last year's model?
Miguel
The main difference in the Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MPAV19 compared to last year's model is the cosmetic design. Both bats will use the same E-Flex 700 Aluminum.
Cameron
Would this bat crush the clincher balls ?
Miguel
This Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA (MPAV19) should handle all types of balls very well.
Kyle
Does this help hit further?
Bobby
The 2019 Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MPAV19 is an end loaded bat, so the extra weight can help hit further as long as it doesn't slow down your swing speed. We recommend using the heaviest bat you are comfortable with that doesn't take away any swing speed in order to generate more power.
Tori
How is it with clincher balls?.
Fer
Since this Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat (MPAV19) has a 2-piece design, I would imagine it will not perform as well as a 1-piece bat would perform when used with a Clincher ball. The 2-piece design on the Vicious will allow for a considerable amount of flex when connecting with the denser, Clincher ball. I think that extra flex will cause the performance to decrease on this Vicious when compared to a 1-piece bat.
Ben
Is the wrap around the handle made of leather, rubber or some other material. What is it made of?
Sean
The grip tape on the Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MPAV19 is made from durasoft polymer.
Cameron
Comparing the 2019 Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MPAV19 to the 2019 Miken Freak Primo 14" Maxload ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MPRIMA which bat do you recommend for the best results?
Jeffrey
If you can use composite material bats and are playing in an ASA league, I would recommend the Miken Freak Primo 14" Maxload ASA (MPRIMA) over this 2019 Miken Vicious ASA/USSSA End-Loaded Slow Pitch Softball Bat (MPAV19). Composite barreled bats will hit the ball further than aluminum bats in most cases.

About the Brand

During the past few years, serious softball players have looked to Miken Sports for bats that provide the highest levels of performance and durability. Our relentless focus on both technology and the demands of players has made Miken the most demanded line of softball bats today.

Although composites are the latest trend in softball bats, the technology has been the core of Miken's success since the company's inception. Miken pioneered the modern high-performance composite softball bat in 1998 and has pushed the limits with every model since. No other bat company has driven innovation as hard, and the results are indisputable. Look around. If a player is serious about softball, they are most likely swinging a Miken bat.

The success of Miken Sports has been driven by two forces - innovation and a passion for delivering what players demand. The results are obvious. Players have decided that composites are the future for bats, and no one does composite like Miken.

The Worth Mayhem Marvin Player

Pros: I bought this model from a competitor, not JustBats. But I thought I would come here and give my opinion of the bat. I bought the 34", 27oz version and headed to the ballpark for some batting practice with it and another Worth bat I purchased at the same time. Right out of the wrapper I liked it. It felt good in my hands, good balance, weight. I utilized a tee for batting training as I was alone. I'm not a power hitter and I wasn't seeing the long ball when using it fungoe style. But then I hit to get on base and drive in runs. I have practice tomorrow so I'll see how it pops. Plus, the wind is pretty stiff here in Colorado Springs. I'll update this review after I get some batting practice utilizing an actual pitcher. But so far the Mayhem seems like a good bat for those of us who hit for average. But at the moment, it's relegated my new Easton Hammer to backup and batting practice duty.

Cons: At the moment I can't list any cons. But I think it's more what people prefer or their strength/mechanics or lack there of. I prefer to know my skill/effort helped me succeed rather than my bat compensating for my lack of either.

About the Brand

Worth, Inc. can trace its beginning back to the year 1912, when George Sharp Lannom, Jr. purchased a tannery in Tullahoma, Tennessee and established the Lannom Manufacturing Company. Initially, the firm tanned leather for harnesses and horse collars they manufactured. However, as the automobile grew in popularity, the demand for the company's harnesses and collars declined, so Lannom shifted its manufacturing resources toward production of leather covered baseballs and softballs under the "Worth" brand, and men's leather dress gloves under the "Craig" brand.

Charles (Chuck) E. Parish joined Lannom in 1930 as a salesman and married G.S. Lannom, Jr.'s daughter, Martha Lannom several years later. Following Mr. Lannom's death, Parish acquired controlling interest in the company, which led to a division of company assets between himself and Lannom's son G.S. Lannom III. Lannom maintained the glove works while Parish, "The Baron of Baseballs," built the Lannom baseball business into the world's largest manufacturer of baseballs.

Upon graduation from Vanderbilt University in 1959, Chuck Parish's son, John, joined the Lannom organization. He persuaded his father to expand the company's Caribbean operations and enter the baseball bat business in 1970. In 1975, following the death of his father, John Parish took over the reigns of the company. Under his leadership, the company diversified and expanded its production line and developed the personnel, technical know-how, and physical facilities to become one of the largest and most financially sound manufacturers in the entire sporting goods industry.

The WorthSports Company was formally organized in 1975 as the sales and marketing arm for all sporting goods products and divisions of Lannom. In addition to the normal marketing functions, Worth also emphasizes and provides new product research and development. In fact, the emphasis placed on this development is largely responsible for Worth's leadership role in the sporting goods industry.

When Worth entered the bat business all bats were made from Northern White Ash. Worth then established wood mills in Pennsylvania and New York to provide the strong but relatively lightweight ash wood stock. Then directions were shifted to aluminum and other composites and in 1968 Lannom Manufacturing produced its first aluminum bat. The company's Jess Heald was primarily responsible for its development. The sale of aluminum bats to amateur baseball and softball players mushroomed in the 70's, helping Lannom achieve record results. In 1994, because of market demands, more emphasis was placed on the aluminum division and an expansion was completed in Tullahoma.

One of the first and most significant results of the R&D program was the development of the Polyurethane (Poly-X™) core for baseballs and softballs. This one innovation revolutionized the entire softball world; up to this time, the traditional softball core was constructed of cork and latex. Worth, through the use of "petrochemical" formulation, created a softball that was more consistent in performance and demonstrated extended durability, thereby setting the stage for the establishment of formal specifications and standards for the industry. More recently, the expanded research and development team has made another revolutionary addition to the aluminum bats called the SuperCell EST (Exterior Shell Technology) Bat.

One product Worth is very proud of is its RIF (Reduced Injury Factor) baseballs and softballs. Introduced in baseballs in the late '80's, the RIF design features a polyurethane center that makes the ball softer than the traditional yarn wound ball, while keeping the weight, size and liveliness. The balls are used mainly in youth leagues, where safety is of major concern. The technology is now being used in Worth softballs as well. New technology is constantly being developed to revolutionize the softball industry as we know it today.

In 2007, Worth was acquired by Jarden Corporation and is now a division of Rawlings and Jarden Team Sports.
