Description

Make more solid contact with the ball with this Easton BBCOR baseball bat. The Easton Project 3 FUZE BBCOR bat provides greater mass behind the ball, driving it farther and faster. The Project 3 FUZE is manufactured with the patented reinforced CARBON-CORE technology or C-Core technology which results in thin barrel walls, positively affecting the trampoline response of the bat and resulting in more durability and resistance to wear and tear. The unique VRSCOR handle insert gives the bat a solid feel, so it feels sturdy in the hands, and the comfortable LIZARD SKIN grip combines both cushion and tack to give the batter confidence in humid and wet conditions and to help absorb vibration. Easton: Fueled by Passion. Designed to Win.

Maintain balance, speed and control at the plate with this Easton Project 3 FUZE BBCOR baseball bat (Model BB19FZ). This model features a 2 5/8-inch barrel diameter and -3 drop weight. This BBCOR baseball bat's Forced Composite Cap makes the bat feel more balanced and give you a faster swing speed. Finally, the Power Boost Knob reduces vibrations felt when hitting the ball to improve comfort at the plate. Add this bat to your cart today and enjoy free shipping. Easton Project 3 Series = Big Disappointment So Long Easton Coach

Pros: Out of the wrapper, it looks good, feels good, evenly weighted. But that's where the good stops. Easton customer service was very good and helpful, see Cons below as to why.

Cons: Kid is 14, 5'6" and weighs 105 lbs. He broke 3 of these in 4 weeks. The first one died before his first game. I called Easton and said the ping sound is now a wood sound and they said it was a defect, so they sent me another. After the first game, the next batting practice, same thing happened. They sent me another. After 25 swings, same thing happened. 3 bats, 4 weeks, all went dead almost instantly. Easton sent me an ADV to see if that would help, and after one game, same issue. I was hitting fly balls to him with these bats and couldn't hit the 200 foot fence. Grabbed a Slugger Solo and easily hit it 50 feet further with less effort. Easton said it took years to develop this new technology for Project 3, well sadly this one is a dud. Side note, a teammate bought the Alpha and had the same problem. Do not buy the Project 3 bats.

Dont buy it Ulyses Player

Pros: Feels great out of the wrapper, sounds great...

Cons: It broke within the first 2 months of swinging and was only used in games (6). Swung the bat, deep to center field, when the bat dropped, i heart a clanking metal sound, so when i get back to the dugout i tapped the handle against the ground, and it cracked and was dunzo, i do not suggest this bat. spending the extra 100 dollars on a marucci cat 8 is worth it.

Yellow Thunder!! Ryan Gehrke Player

Pros: Has great pop and no vibration unless you hit it on the very end. The grip is awesome and no need to replace. The price is great because this is like the 3rd best BBCOR bat. So that’s awesome.

Cons: The sweet spot is a little small but if you don’t hit in the sweet spot the ball will still fly.

Easton Fuze Wesley Jones Player

Pros: Best one-piece BBCOR bat of 2019. Has little vibration but its a one piece bat so thats what you get. My guess probaly has the best exit speeds out of all bats. The ball soars right off. If i'm right, BBCOR is also known as .50. Like USSSA is 1.15. This means that the bat will take off 1\2 of the bats power. Well not this one.

Cons: none

Well Balanced Ralph Player

Pros: Balanced swing weight if looking for a light swinging BBCOR or someone making the jump from youth big barrel to BBCOR. Responsive barrel, stiff feel on contact. 100+ MPH exit velo on 55-60 MPH BP.

Cons: Not really cons in my mind, but differences in preference. If looking for an end loaded option, this isn't the bat. Also vibrates a bit if not hit squarely (which is expected with any one piece). No real cons to speak of beyond that.

Project 3 is flawed Randy M. Player

Pros: Out of the wrapper the bat feels like it should. Has some pop and little sting. But that all ends fast I had one of these I used for the spring season and then got a second one before the summer after breaking the first, with the same problem occurring

Cons: The bat tape that is on this series, while it is lizard skin, is not as durable as normal tape. The biggest problem with these bats is the cap on the end of the barrel. Is you try to hit outside pitches, the barrel gets squeezed and becomes dented. The cap begins to slide out of the bat on every swing, and once it is loose it loses almost all pop. If you want a one piece bat for a cheaper price than the top of the line, look at a newer Easton or something from a different brand. The Louisville Slugger Solo is a good bat for an intermediate player to try opposed to this

Have a question about the Easton Project 3 FUZE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19FZ? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How does the Easton Fuze BBCOR bat compare with the Rawlings 2018 VELO BBCOR?
Pete
Both bats will perform very well and offer a well-balanced, light feeling swing. Pop is tightly regulated with the BBCOR standard, so both bats will be very similar in that regard.
Kyle J.
How does this bat compare to the Beast X Speed BBCOR (BB18BXS)?
mike
The Easton Project 3 FUZE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19FZ will be very similar to the Beast X Speed because of the one-piece alloy design and the Speed balanced swing weight that the Beast X Speed also has.
Max
What is the MOI of this bat?
TC
The Easton Project 3 FUZE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19FZ will have a low MOI.
Max
What is difference between this bat and the 619 Solo? Also which one has a lighter swing?
Tom
This Easton Project 3 FUZE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB19FZ) and the 2019 Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBS619B3) will be the same bat from different bat makers. Both have an all-alloy design that is topped-off with a composite end-cap. There will be specific differences innate to the manufacturer of each bat. However, the bats will essentially be the same. After holding both bats in my hands, it is going to be hard to say one is truly lighter or easier to swing than the other.
Ben
How does this bat compare to the Cat8?
Keith
Both the Cat 8 and this Easton Project 3 FUZE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19FZ will be one-piece alloy models. The Project 3 Fuze will incorporate a forged composite cap to generate faster swing speeds though.
Tyler
What is the difference between this bat and the Easton Speed BBCOR bat?
Robert Rodrigues
The Easton Project 3 FUZE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19FZ offers a VRSCOR handle insert to improve feel and reduce vibration, a composite end cap for a lighter swing and increased swing speed, a power boost knob for more leverage, and ATAC alloy + Carbon Core technology for thinner barrel walls. The Easton Speed BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19SPD offers Lightweight ALX50 Aircraft Grade Alloy with a traditional handle, end cap and knob.
Logan
What is the difference in the barrel size compared to the Easton Beast X Speed bat?
Jr boi
In terms of sweet spot size, there is not a noticeable difference between these two models.
Kyle J.
How does this bat compare to the Alpha with respect to MOI/swing weight? If the Alpha is heavier/more top heavy, how much of a difference is there?
Wes
The Easton Project 3 FUZE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19FZ will have a slightly lighter swing weight than the 2019 Easton Project 3 Alpha BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19AL. The Alpha has more of a power balanced feel. It is not a ton different, but the weight is about a half ounce more.
Tori
Is this a 1-piece composite or alloy?
Diego
The Easton Project 3 FUZE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19FZ is a one-piece alloy bat.
Cameron
What is the difference between this bat and the Alpha? (Swing weight and material)
Jack Bahouth
The Easton Project 3 FUZE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19FZ will be considered balanced as the Easton Project 3 Alpha BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19AL would be slightly end loaded. Both feature the same ATAC alloyand carbon core technology and VRSCOR handle insert that reinforces the handle to create a solid feel.
Daveron
What's the difference between the Easton Alpha 3 and the Easton Project 3 Fuze? What is the difference between Power Balanced and Speed Balanced?
Frank Toeneboehn
Speed Balanced means the bat is designed with a swing weight suited for bat speed, and the balance point will be closer to the hands. Power Balanced is designed more for power hitters, and the balanced point is slightly closer to the barrel.
Kyle
How does this bat compare to the LS Omaha with respect to MOI/swing weight and sting in mishits?
Rog
Unfortunately we do not know the MOI of any particular bat. Since both the LS Omaha and the Easton Project 3 FUZE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19FZ are one-piece alloy bats, the sting on mishits will likely feel very similar. With the Omaha featuring Vibex material in the handle, it will reduce vibration slightly more.

Description

New baseball bat for the season! For the second year running, Louisville Slugger has created a one-piece, all alloy, hybrid bat: the Solo. This season's model, the Solo 618, may be known as a single-piece construction, but due to the new and improved Speed Ballistic Composite End Cap, Louisville Slugger has deemed it a hybrid design. The enhanced end cap, combined with Slugger's SL Hyper aluminum material, delivers increased swing speed, better overall control through the zone, and the most balanced swing weight score (1.1) in the Lineup. As the fastest swinging baseball bat Louisville Slugger has ever manufactured, this model is an excellent choice for players looking to ensure fastballs no longer phase them. Not only does the SL Hyper Alloy provide an increase in swing speed, but it ensures a stiff, traditional feel on contact with maximum energy transfer for further ball flight and more base hits. Not to mention, Louisville Slugger has applied a brand new vibration dampening handle design that helps reduce sting in the hands on mishits so that negative vibration is a thing of the past. The best part? A custom Lizard Skins baseball bat grip comes pre-wrapped around the standard handle for premium comfort and a better overall feel. Louisville Slugger: Hit For Power, Average, & Pride!

This Louisville Slugger Solo 618 Baseball Bat (WTLBBS618B3) features a standard 2 5/8-inch barrel diameter, a drop 3 length to weight ratio, and the BBCOR certification for high school and collegiate approval. Make every swing count and buy your Solo 618 BBCOR bat today with free shipping and a full one (1) year manufacturer's warranty. Don't forget, we're here for you from click to hit!

Compared Solo to 918 Prime Eric Thompson parent

Pros: One piece bat. Good feel in hands. Demode against 918 Prime. Didn't use during game. Prime wins all around.

Cons: Sting to the hands. If you like the loud sound like Cat 7 This might be your bat. It wasn't for us. Wish i could demo it before we bought it. My son is switching to the 918 Prime. My son said you couldn't feel any sting in hands and it sounds like a wood bat. Had great pop also. Can't wait tod use in the game.

Very balanced, nice pop Mighty Lou player

Pros: My son is 13u who will be playing some 14U 60/90 where BBCOR is required. He's 5'5" 120 lbs and swings this bat as well as a -5 or -8 with better exit velocity off a tee (not sure how that is possible but it's true) than the lighter bats.

Cons: Grip is a bit thick and he doesn't love the look of the bat but that's not really very important

Pros: Received this bat as a replacement for the 2017 Louisville Slugger Solo 617 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBSO6173 that we had warranty issues with.

Cons: Son doesn't like it at all and this $300 bat sits in the dugout while he uses a teammate's bat like his that broke. (many teammates wanted to use his new 2018 when he first got it and now, not one person is using it)

Pros: This is the second SOLO we have purchased. We only purchased the 618 33in. to replace the 617 32in as my son has grown bigger, stronger and taller within the last year. Highly recommend this bat to any parent looking for a premium BBCOR that is balanced, easy to swing.

Pros: My kid had to get a new bat for fall 2018 as he’s moving up to pony ball. He’s a little guy so I was looking for a bat he would be able to get around. This bat got the best reviews for being the lightest & most balanced. It definitely seems to be all that & also has good pop.

Hot Bat Steve Coach

Pros: My son Took BP with the new bat and right away we saw an exit velocity increase. First we started with soft toss and we already noticed a difference. After we went to a front toss, that’s where we experience a serious pop off the bat. We also saw an increase with exit velocity which actually sent the ball traveling further than before. Line drives are a lot more crisp and sharp. Ball did travel off the bat with ease. My son did say the weight of bat is evenly distributed and swing does feel smooth and a bit lighter than his marucci bat which has an end load feel.

Cons: None

The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 features a very well balanced, light swing weight, ideal for a contact hitter looking for bat speed.

What is the difference between 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 and the 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 BBCOR Baseball bats?
Joey
The biggest difference between the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 and the 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 BBCOR is that the 618 is more balanced than the 518 and has a higher quality alloy.
Damon
Is there a very big difference in pop between the solo 618 and the prime 918?
Camden
The performance between the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 and the Louisville Slugger Prim 918 are going to be very similar. Both bats meet the BBCOR standards so they will be very comparable. The main difference between the two bats is going to be desing and make up of the bat. The Solo 618 is a one piece full alloy bat and the Prime 918 is a two piece full composite bat.
Cooper
Any chance this bat comes in a -5 in 2018?

Unfortunately the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 will not come in a -5 model.
Damon
Please compare two BBCOR bats: (the 2018 Rawlings VELO and the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618)?
Leonard
This 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBS618B3) and the 2018 Rawlings VELO are pretty similar bats. Both bats have a mostly one-piece, all-alloy build with very balanced swing feels. The reason the bats feel very balanced is due to a composite end-cap that makes the end of the bat feel lighter for the player and easier to swing.
Ben

The one piece design of the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 offers stiffness that benefits power hitters, and is also well balanced. If you are looking for power and balance, this is a great option!
Logan
Will this bat be legal for 14 year old high school baseball leagues?
Jon p
The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 is BBCOR certified and approved for high school play.
Logan
How does this bat compare to the Marucci Cat 7?
Matt
Both the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 and the Marucci CAT 7 are one-piece, all alloy bats featuring balanced swing weights. The main difference is the Solo 618 has the composite end cap which tends to make the bat more balanced.
Cameron
Does this 2018 bat meet the new 2018 bat requirements?
Dave
The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 is a BBCOR Baseball Bat. It does meet requirements for high school in 2018, but if you are talking about Little League you would want to look for a USA Bat.
Carter
I want this bat, but I don't know if it will square the ball up how I want it to. It doesn't look like it has a very big sweet spot.
Dakota
The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 features a pretty standard size of sweet spot for an alloy bat. to get a bat with a larger sweet spot, you might want to look at a composite bat such as the 2018 Louisville Slugger Prime 918 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP918B3.
Logan
I am 5'8" and 130 pounds. Should I get a 31/28 or 32/29?
Dakota
Based on your current height and weight, we would suggest the 31" 28 oz model of the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3.
Jason
I am 13 years old 5'3" and 118 pounds. What size Solo do you suggest for me?
Sammy
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 in a 30 inch model.
Cameron
My son is currently swinging an Omaha 516 (-5). We are looking at purchasing a BBCOR bat. Is this bat similar to what he currently has?
KB
This 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBS618B3) will feature a pretty similar build to the Omaha 516 your player has been using currently. The Omaha 516 is a one-piece, all-alloy bat. As well, the Solo 618 is very similar with the one exception that it has a composite end-cap that makes the bat extremely balanced feeling. If you guys want to get a BBCOR bat that is extremely balanced feeling, I would recommend this Solo 618 very highly.
Ben
Is this bat legal for LL baseball?
DAVETTE
The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 can only be used in the Senior Division; all other levels of Little League require the use of a bat with the USA Baseball stamp.
Cameron
I'm 5'9 and 120 lbs. What size do you recommend?
Mark
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" bat. This is a suggestions, it would be perfectly fine if you went to a 32" or a 30". The size is largely based on player preference.
Mick
My son is 5 foot 5, 13 years old and 120 lbs. What size 618 BBCOR bat would you recommend. He is entering middle school baseball.
Ron
I would recommend your player to swing a 30 inch bat. He won't need to swing a BBCOR bat until high school. Depending on your league rules and regulations, I would recommend the 2018 Louisville Slugger Prime 918 -8 Senior League Baseball Bat: WTLSLP918X8.
Dan
Would you recommend this or the 918 for a 14 yr old, 60" 105 lbs? He is currently swinging the LS Solo 617.
Yo
The balanced swing weight of the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 will benefit your player because of the lightweight feel.
Max
How does the pop and quality of this bat compare to the pop and quality of the DeMarini Voodoo ONE?
trea turner
The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 and the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC will be very similar in terms of pop.
Dan
How does this bat differ from the 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 BBCOR?
Andrew
The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 features a Speed Ballistic Composite End Cap which is going to improve the balance over the 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO518B3. In addition to that the Solo 618 uses SL Hyper Alloy which is a higher quality aluminum than the ST 7U1+ of the Omaha 518.
Carter
My son is 13 years old and has always been a contact hitter. He bats like .500 a year. We are debating between the Solo and the Select. He originally wanted the Select, but found out it was more for power hitters. Which bat do you think will fit him better?
mike_101
With your player being more of a contact hitter, the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 would be the better option, in my opinion. The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 will offer a lighter swing weight which results in maximum bat speed, whereas the slightly end loaded swing weight of the 2018 Louisville Slugger Select 718 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS718B3 may be a bit much for a contact hitter.
Logan
Looking for the best BBCOR bat for my HS son. We live in the Northeast so a composite will make no sense. So, looking for aluminum, either one-piece or hybrid, balanced rather than end-loaded. Not concerned about cost, just the absolute best performing bat. What would you recommend?
JJ
There are several good aluminum bats. The BBCOR standard is rather strict, so I wouldn't say there is a be-all-end-all best bat out there. Some good options to look at are the 2017 Marucci Cat 7, the Rawlings VELO (2017 and 2018 models), or the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 or the 2018 Omaha 518.
Kyle J.
We just received the bat this week. I'm a little confused by the "Speed Ballistic Composite" endcap. - The bat is listed as a 1-piece aluminum alloy bat. In your video John describes the "SBC" as extending the barrel of the bat to make it lighter, therefore making the bat more balanced. How much of the end part of the bat is composite, or is it just the endcap piece itself that is composite? Aren't most endcaps just plastic and therefore lighter anyway? As a side note. My son also tried out the Axe HyperWhip bat which does actually have a 3" composite fusion tip fused to the aluminum alloy barrel. Is the Solo similiar to that or something different? Sorry for the long question. Thank you, Noel
Noel
The Speed Ballistic Composite endcap is the only part of the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 that is composite which technically makes this a hybrid bat. The end cap is designed to extend the barrel as long as possible before it becomes an endcap. With regard to the 2018 Axe HyperWhip BBCOR Baseball Bat: L138F, you are exactly right. Both endcaps have the same purpose which is to extend the barrel and create a lighter feel.
Dan
My son is going into high school in the fall as a young 14 year old. He is 5'7" and 125 lbs and swings a 31" Cat 7 -5 now. Looking for a BBCOR bat for high school. What do you recommend between the Quatro, 918 Prime or 618 Solo?
jjbb
The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 will feature a balanced swing weight just like the LS Prime 918 and Rawlings Quatro. The main difference between the bats is the Solo 618 is a one-piece alloy bat. A one-piece bat does not offer the same anti-vibration capabilities like the Prime 918 or Quatro. The Solo 618 does offer better performance and durability in colder weather though. For your player a 31 inch model would be best based on his current height and weight.
Cameron
Is this bat really loud on contact?
trey
The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 is constructed from alloy so naturally it will be louder on impact in comparison to a composite bat such as the LS Prime 918. How loud this bat may sound when compared to another alloy model, such as the LS Omaha 518, is more personal opinion.
Cameron
What is the biggest difference (if any) between this bat and the Omaha 518? I want my son to have a quick barrel to the ball and a balanced feel to the bat.
John
The major difference is the Speed Ballistic Comp end cap on the Solo 618 that claims to help with the balanced feel of the bat. I think both this and the Omaha 518 are good options and there isn't much difference between the two in my opinion from a performance standpoint.
Kyle J.
How does the Solo 618 compare to the Easton Beast X Speed? The 30"/27 oz Speed that I have is much heavier than the stated weight and is around 28.5 oz. Is the Solo closer to the sticker weight and is the swing weight a lot lighter or just a bit lighter?
COODOO
Pretty much any bat that you purchase will weigh heavier than the listed weight. This is due to things like the paint, endcap glue, and adhesive for the grip tape not being factored into the listed weight. I can't say for certain if the Solo 618 would weigh closer to the listed weight since it can vary from model to model. Most are .5-1.5 oz heavier than the listed amount. The swing weights of both these bats should be fairly similar, although I might give a very slight edge to the Solo 618.
Kyle J.
How does this compare to the Rawlings VELO?
Drew
The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 and the Rawlings VELO are very similar bats. Both are one-piece alloy bats, featuring a composite end cap and balanced swing weight.
Cameron
What is a better bat: Louisville Slugger Solo 618 or DeMarini CF Zen for high school play?
Nate
It is hard to say if there is much of a competitive difference between the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 and the DeMarini CF Zen. Both bats are highly regarded among the players that swing BBCOR bats. Although the two bats are constructed differently (the Solo being a one-piece all alloy with a composite end cap and the CF Zen being a two-piece fully composite) the balanced swing weight with each make them both great options for both contact and power hitters.
Cameron
Love the 617, what's the difference?
dave
There really isn't much difference from the 2017 Louisville Slugger Solo 617 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBSO6173 to the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 other than cosmetics.
Logan
I am around 5'7" and 148 lbs. Would a 33'' 30 oz be recommended for my size and weight?
dj
Our sizing chart has you at a 32'' 29oz in the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3.
Max
How does the Solo 618 31"/28 oz compare to the Omaha 517 31"/28 oz?
mgreco53
The main difference between these two bats is the materials used in their construction. The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBS618B3) is a one-piece, aluminum bat with a composite end cap. The 2017 Louisville Slugger Omaha 517 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBO5173) is a one-piece, all aluminum bat. Typically, a composite end cap makes the bat's swing weight feel a little more balanced.

Is there going to be a new LS Solo coming out in 2019?
slim
There will be a 2019 model of the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3.
Max
My son is 5"9' and 110 pounds. Is the 31/28 the way to go?
slim
Base upon your son's height and weight I would recommend a 31'' 28 oz in the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3.
Max
My son is 5"5' and 100 lbs with a slim build. He is not a power hitter. He"s just moving into -3 and I"m looking for a bat that will keep up his bat speed. What are some good options?
Keith
Since he is just getting into BBCOR and based on his size, I would recommend getting a 30'' or 31''. The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 is a good choice since it is balanced. The Marucci CAT series would also be a good choice. If you wanted to look at composite bats, the Louisville Slugger 918 is a great balanced bat as well.
Tori
Is this high school varsity legal for 2018-19 school year? The Solo 618?
Derrick
The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 is legal for high school play today and in the foreseeable future.
Cameron
My son is 5'4" and weighs 190. This will be his first BBCOR bat. Currently he swings a 31" -5 Easton XL3. Would you recommend for his first BBCOR bat he stay with a 31" or should he jump to a 32" based on his size? He loves his Easton XL3.
TJ
Per your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 in a 32 inch model. With that being said, there is certainly nothing wrong with getting a 31 inch model if that will be more beneficial for your son.
Cameron
My son is 13, 5 ft 90 lbs and going to need his first BBCOR bat. Would you recommend the 618 Solo or the 918? Thanks.
Chris
While I personally prefer the Prime 918, I think that the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 is one of the best BBCOR bats on the market for younger players because the extremely balance swing weight. This helps transition a player into the heavier BBCOR models.
Tyler
My son is 13, 5’0”, 90 lb and used a 30” -8 USA bat last season. Next season he can use either USA and BBCOR. Should he get this bat (better pop) or based on his size should he get the USA Solo 618? Should he go up to 31”?
BBMama
Since he is already using a -8, I would not recommend using the -11 USA Solo 618 as it will be too light for him. The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 is a great choice, however, if the weight is a concern with the BBCOR bats at his size, there are USA bats that are available in a -5 that would make for a great transition bat. I would suggest keeping him at a 30'' based on his height and weight.
Tori
Which feels more end loaded, the Solo 618 or the Cat 7?
jeff
Neither the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 or the Cat 7 has any real end load feel in their swing weight. Both models are very balanced in their swing weight.
Tyler
I am looking for a BBCOR bat for my son for 7th grade baseball in the spring. Right now there is a great price on the Solo 618. Would this be a good bat or is the Cat 7 better? He is about 5' 3 and 125 pounds. He is above average. I am looking at a 30/27.
Frank
The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 would be a great option for your son if he is needing a BBCOR model. The light swing weight will benefit him and give him a light weight feel. The CAT 7 is a great model as well, but because of the changing to BBCOR I would recommend going with the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3
Max
How does the barrel size compare on the 518 and 618?
Fr
Both the 518 and the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 will have 2 5/8" barrel diameters. As far as the length of the barrel's, they will be extremely similar with no noticeable difference from the naked eye.
Tyler
My son currently swings a Omaha 517, and has done well with it. We are looking at both the Omaha 519 and the 618 Solo. Which would be more ideal for a great contact hitter with occasional pop?
Derek
The main difference between the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 and the 2019 Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 is going to be the swing weight. The Solo 619 is the most balanced, lightest swinging model from Slugger, while the Omaha 519 will have slightly more weight distributed into the barrel, making it swing a bit heavier. If your player likes the Omaha series he's currently swinging, I would stick with that unless you are looking for a lighter swing weight.
Logan
Trying to find a bat for my son that is 4'8" 100 lbs. He's going to be playing high school ball and needs a BBCOR bat. What bats would you recommend him try?
jimmy shoemaker
The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 would be a great option for your son because of the balanced swing weight and this bat will allow him to swing a 30'' 27 oz, which is about the right size I would recommend for your son. It has the lowest swing weight in the Louisville Slugger line and will allow him to get the bat through the zone quickly.
Max
I’m a 5’6" and 115 lb kid. What bat should I get?

Per your height and weight, we would recommend getting the Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 in a 30 inch model.
Cameron
I’m 14, 5’11 and 130lbs, what length do I need?
Bryant Siemens
With the player specs listed, a 32" option of the Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 would be the suggested size.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
