Chop away the competition with the 2019 Axe baseball bats! The Origin series is tougher and more improved. Once you make the switch to the Patented Axe Handle which enables max bat speed, more barrel control and your best swing, more often, you'll never go back. That's a fact. With a one-piece, traditional alloy construction combined with a composite HyperWhip end-cap you won't be swinging behind too many pitches. The Origin is recommended for contact hitters who are looking to increase their bat speed at the plate. Each model is made up of the ultra-strong Performance LP1 alloy that delivers season after season performance with explosive pop. An engineered hitting zone extends the sweet spot while maximizing performance and durability over a 270-degree contact area. This allows you to never rotate your barrel without the worry of damaging one side - a benefit you'll only see when you swing Axe bats. On the other end, Axe utilizes the shock-absorbing Endogrid technology which is built into the handle and helps eliminate negative feedback in the bottom hand so that you never have to deal with sting that is commonly felt when swinging a one-piece baseball bat. Axe: Make The Switch!

This Axe Origin USA Baseball Bat (L135G) features a standard 2 5/8-inch barrel diameter, a drop 8 length to weight ratio, and the USABat certification making it approved for play in AABC, Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken, Dixie Youth, Little League, and Pony. Make the switch and buy the Axe Origin baseball bat today with free shipping and a full one (1) year manufacturer's warranty. Remember, with our 24/7 customer service, we're here for you from click to hit!

Axe Handle Scientifically Proven Benefits
Better Bat Control - High-speed video reveals a "hammering" motion from the traditional round knob. The Axe handle stabilizes the grip, increasing barrel control.
More Power & Bat Speed - Range of motion is increased and tension is reduced in the hands, resulting in greater power transfer and more bat speed.
Enhanced Comfort - The Axe handle is ergonomically designed to fit naturally in the contour of your hand.
Reduces Injuries - Traditional handles put tremendous pressure on a single point of the hand, which contains the commonly broken Hamate bone. The flush backside of the Axe handle relieves this pressure.

Love Axe but swings a bit heavy Baseball Dad and Coach Coach

Pros: My son and I love the Axe bats. He has owned three Axe bats. The cap cracked on one bat and Axe replaced it just as promised. My son loves the feel of the Axe handle, and I am convinced that it keeps him from "rolling over". We have had a great experience with the brand, and the Axe technology has helped his hitting.

Cons: Because of his age, my son had to move to a drop 8 (-8) bat. The Axe drop 8 felt like it had a heavier swing weight than some other brands. We may migrate to a different brand of bat based on swing weight. The Axe just feels heavier. My son is small, so this may not be an issue for many players.

We Love Axe Coach Dad Coach

Pros: My son has used Axe bats for about three seasons. He loves the feel of the Axe handle and has experienced a lot of success. We think highly of the brand, the technology, and the customer service. We would choose Axe again.

Cons: My 13 year old had to move to a drop -8 this season. He was moving from a 30 /20 to a 31/23 drop -8. He found the swing weight of the Axe drop -8 to be too heavy - maybe end loaded. We migrated away from Axe to a bat he felt had a lighter swing weight and a more balanced feel. We love Axe, just not a good fit for my son right now. He is a small 13 year old weighing in at 83 pounds.

My son is 5'2'' and about 125 lbs, he is only 11. The length is fine but is the 22 oz too much?
Martin
If your son feels comfortable swinging a heavier bat, like the Axe Origin -8 USA Baseball Bat: L135G, then there is certainly nothing wrong with that. Generally speaking, for a player that is 11 years old we would recommend a -10 length-to-weight ratio bat.

About the Brand

Launched by Baden Sports in 2011, the Axe line of bats was hailed as a breakthrough in bat technology by players and coaches from youth leagues to the Pros. The makers of the Axe line of bats often pose the question, "What does your traditional knob do for you?" Most players don't have a good answer. Axe engineers have created a handle that is not only more comfortable and safer in terms of hand injuries, but also helps improve the hitter's swing by keeping them on an even plane. Although Axe is new to the market, they are backed by Baden Sports, Inc., an independent, family-owned company that has been making baseball products since 1979. Their passion to create a better game is unparalleled, making it no surprise that the Axe handle is set to be baseball's next big thing.

Pros: Hot out of the wrapper. Satisfying sound, even on miss hits, foul tips wont be missed. Good weight distribution. My 8yo son was crushing line drives on all pitches, high, low, inside and out. At one point he hit 10 in a row. Never done that before. Comfortable grip and absolutely no vibration complaints in the first hundred or so hits.

Cons: I waited too long to buy it.

What is the difference between the Prime and the Select?
Clay
The 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBP919B10 will be a three piece all composite bat, while the 2019 Louisville Slugger Select 719 -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS719B10 will be a three piece hybrid bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel.
Max
What is replacing last years 718? This bat or the 719? Did they have a bat like this last year?
pete
Louisville Slugger will be releasing the 2019 Louisville Slugger Select 719 -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTLUBS719B10) on 10/1. This will be the model that replaced the previous 2018 Select 718 -10 USA Baseball model. This was the first year that Louisville Slugger produced a two-piece full composite design for USA Baseball.
John
Would this bat be eligible for USSSA league as well? The new bat rules of proper stamping of a 1.15 BPF or USSSA?
Steve
The 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBP919B10 would be allowed in USSSA play. However, this bat's performance will meet a different standard than USSSA certified bats. We anticipate the USSSA version of this bat to be released the first of October by Louisville Slugger.
Daveron
How much heavier is the actual vs advertised weight on average for this bat, specifically for a 29"/19 oz?
Brian W
Unfortunately I'm not really able to provide an average as we haven't gone and weighed hundreds of models for each USA bat out there. Most USA bats weight about .5-1.5 oz heavier than the listed weight. I did weigh a 30"/20 oz model that we have here in our customer service center, and it weighed in at 21.2 oz, or +1.2 oz heavier than listed.

How does the Louisville 919 Prime USA compare to the DeMarini CF Zen USA in terms of pop?
Ryan
At this time there is nothing concrete that would show significant performance comparisons between the 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBP919B10 versus the DeMarini CF Zen USA model. Based on the design of all USA bats, with regards to barrel thickness and performance restrictions, we would venture to say that the "pop" of these two bats would be very similar.

You have this bat in a USSSA?
Rob
The 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBP919B10 counterpart in a USSSA model is the 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WTLSLP919X10.
Cameron
Is the 919 Prime end loaded?
Cj
The 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBP919B10 features a balanced swing weight. At this time LS is not making a USA -10 model with an end loaded design.
Cameron
My son is 8.5 years old, weighs 55 lbs, is 4'5". I am curious of the three Prime 919 models (-10 USSSA, -10 USA, and -12 USSSA) what would be the best bat for him and recommended size? Is there much of a difference in pop between the USSSA Model and the USA model?
Jim
The correct bat will depend on if his league requires a USA or USSSA stmap. The Louisville Slugger Prime 919 -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBP919B10 would be required by Little League and some others. If he can use a USSSA, I would recommend going with one of those since it will have a better performance. For his age, I would recommend going with the -10 USSSA.
Tori
What bat drop should I use? I’m 155 lbs and 5 foot three.
Ben
If you are seeking the Louisville Slugger Prime 919 -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBP919B10, per your height and weight we would recommend a 32 inch.
Cameron
What is the return policy for this item?
Angie Arana
As long as the bat is unused and in the wrapping, we have a 365 day return policy on this item. Once the item has been used however, is it not eligible for a refund or exchange return.
Kyle
Is this a balanced bat or end loaded? My son will be playing 11U League ball this spring and he needs a light swing weight balanced bat. He is 4'2" and weight 65 pounds
Grant
The Louisville Slugger Prime 919 -10 USA is considered a balanced bat.
Kyle
Trying to decide between the Prime 919, Select 719 or the Ghost X Evolution USA in a 29/19. My son is 9 and currently using a 29/18 Solo 618. I’m a bit confused as to whether or not the 718 is a end loaded bat or not. I don’t want it to be too heavy for him. What’s the difference in barrel size between these 3. I know they’re all 2 5/8 but looking for overall barrel size? I know it’s a tough question but which bat would you recommend of these 3? He is 4’6 and 75 pounds. Thanks
Jay
All of these bats in the -10 size will be a balanced design and feel. In my opinion the Prime and Evolution will feel slightly more balanced however than the Select, but the select has an alloy barrel which is generally a bit more durable than the composite barrels of the Prime and Evolution. However, composite barrels generally allow the manufacturer to create a slightly larger sweet spot, so the Prime and Evolution have a slight edge there. The customer reviews are good on all 3 models, so I don't really think you can go wrong with any of the choices. I would lean towards the Select myself just due to the durability of alloy barrels, but if you want a slightly larger sweet spot, the Ghost or Prime would be the way to go.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
