Pros: just amazing
Pros: My 9U boy (67 lbs, 4’ 6â€) went 2-3 with this bat right out of the wrapper. Both hits were shots to the outfield and not cleanly hit. The 29 drop 11 is just right for him now. This is his 2nd Maxum, and both have done very well. Too bad they’re out of the bat business.
Cons: None yet. Will wait to the end of the season to review durability.
Pros: Lots of pop and great balance along with a huge barrel!
Cons: none yet.
Pros: lots of pop, extended big barrell for a larger sweet spot. My son plays 12u travel ball, hes about 5 feet tall 78lbs so hes tall and skinny and he doesnt have a lit of power. i got 31†and its jest about perfect. went fron -12 Catalyst to this -11 and the bat is well balanced that you cant even tell the fifference in weight. i swear it almost feels lighter. Through 6 games he hasnt had a single stinger yet. too early to tell about durability but seems well made.
Cons: none yet
Pros: Looks great, nice swing.
Cons: No pop. Weird, hollow, sound of the bat. Several of our big hitters had been using this bat and their parents have told them to NOT use this bat anymore.
Pros: Bought the 31†-11 for my son whos 11 and plays 12u travel. He is average height for an 11 year old and really thin. Bat drop is perfect for him as he doesnt have a lot of power but is a great contact hitter. I wasnt happy with the 2018 model of the bat make weve been using for past years so i tried this one. I immediately noticed it had more pop, extended barrel truely does give you more of a sweet spot. It did not make him a better hitter but it is very easy to notice the ball flys off this bat alot harder than his old one. Hes had 50 plate appearances w it so far and has not had a single stinger which is amazing. Too early to comment on durability but is holding up perfect thus far.
Pros: The price is great for a full composite bat! Very balanced and an awesome barrel! Our 12U is killing it in the batters box.
Cons: None yet
Pros: my son is 10 hes on the smaller end 65lb more of a contact hitter & this added some POP.
Cons: took a while to break in
Pros: Great pop out of box. My 11 yr old loves it.
Cons: none yet
Pros: Seems to be what he (grandson) needed, seems more comfortable with this bat then the other I've purchased in the past???
Cons: None that I've noticed.
Pros: My 10 year old son has been playing little league baseball for the past few years. He's been only using little league approved bats. This past season, he got good enough to be selected to play on a tournament team, and one of his coaches said to get him a lighter bat with more "pop". I had no idea what he was talking about, so he directed me to justbats.com and found this bat (size 29" 18 oz). It was on sale, so I thought, what the heck. The first tournament we played, me son was able to hit balls into the outfield. Grounders came off the bat hard. I don't remember him striking out once. He felt more comfortable swinging the bat and didn't complain about any sting. This bat is amazing! I read that it's being discontinued. That's too bad, maybe I'll buy another one before they run out of stock.
Cons: not sure about durability. We haven't played enough.
Pros: Grandson plays 12U and absolutely loves the new bat. Had great pop right out of the wrapper. Can't really comment on durability since we've only had the bat a little over a month.
Cons: None at this time
Pros: It really does have pop. My 10 year old son is hitting further with a lot more velocity. He loves it and the drop 11 is working good for him
Cons: Only been a couple months but nothing yet
Pros: Light. Balanced. Awesome pop. Good sound. Big sweet spot. My 9 year old hit the 200' fence with this bat during BP. Much easier for him to get it around and pull the ball on an inside pitch. He struggled with starting too late so the light feel is helping him.
Cons: As expected, some vibration when mishit, but a lot less than other one-piece bats. We installed a choke up ring on his bat and that helped a lot with minimizing the vibration.
Pros: great sweet spot, lightweight, big barrel
Cons: get dirty easily because of being white
Pros: Nice pop, great construction, just overall a nice bat!
Pros: Decent pop out of the package
Cons: small sweet spot and very tapered barrel. If you mishit it, the vibration can be pretty bad. Bought this for my 9U and the smaller barrel is tougher to hit solid every time.
Pros: The bat looks nice and feels nice.
Cons: For the price, the bat never had any pop. I'm not sure if I purchased a dead bat for my 9 year old son or what but it was a waste of money.
Pros: My son plays 11U travel and when he makes contact in the sweet spot of the barrel the ball pops right off! He makes contact every time. It is expensive but you get what you pay for. Great Bat!
Cons: Very little vibration, hope they come out with more color schemes.
Pros: when i'm hitting with this bat i love how its light so when i hit the ball it goes flying i have hit 4 triples with this bat because of how light it is when i barrel it up the ball goes soaring over the left fielders head off the fence i love this bat i really recommend this bat
Cons: this bat is great

Do these bats come with a warranty?
The 2018 COMBAT MAXUM -11 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL8MX211 will have a Full Twelve (12) Month Warranty.
Can you confirm if this bat is close to the advertised weight? I know it is a -11 but I have seen too many bats lately both USA and non USA that are way over their advertised weights.
The 2018 COMBAT MAXUM -11 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL8MX211 will come in roughly 0.8 ounces heavier than the listed weight.
Where was this bat made?
This 2018 COMBAT MAXUM -11 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL8MX211) was built in China.
What bat did this replace?
This 2018 COMBAT MAXUM -11 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL8MX211) replaced the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -11 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX211).
I am looking for a composite bat for my son who plays 7U and will soon play 8U. He's 52" tall and weighs about 60 lbs. currently we have a 27/17 Rawlings, and it just looks small. We recently looked at some 29" bats, but they just look too big. Any suggestions on sizing him up?
Based on your son's height and weight, I would recommend getting the 2018 COMBAT MAXUM -11 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL8MX211 in a 28''.
Is it 2.75" barrel?
Yes, this 2018 COMBAT MAXUM -11 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL8MX211) will come with a 2.75" barrel diameter.
I'm needing a 29" and my boys love the Maxum series. When reading the reviews it looks like the -10 weighs out a little heavier now. This makes me want to look at the drop -11. My son is only 8 but has an aggressive swing. He is swinging the 28", -10 version and looking to make the move to a 29" but feel the -10 maybe too heavy with reading the reviews about the weight. Is this drop -11 a good alternative as it seems the Combat's made in China are a little heavier than described.
Almost any bat will weight about .5-1.5 oz heavier than the listed weight to be honest. This is because manufacturers weigh bats before final construction, so things such as the adhesive glue for the end cap, grip tape, and paint will push it slightly over the listed weight. The Combat Maxum is still a well balanced bat that should swing easy, so I think a -10, 29" would still work fine, though you can certainly still use a 29", -11 model.
Is this bat legal for Babe Ruth league?
Unfortunately, the 2018 COMBAT MAXUM -11 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL8MX211 is only approved for play in USSSA baseball games. The Babe Ruth league will require the new USA bat certification. I recommend reaching out to one of our customer coaches at JustBats.com if you need any suggestions.
Will this bat ever be available in a 26†length?
Unfortunately, the 2018 COMBAT MAXUM -11 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL8MX211) is not offered in a 26" length. You can shop our 26-inch baseball bats here: https://www.justbats.com/products/length~26%20inch/
I purchased a 2018 DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC in September. Is it not going to be a legal bat to use for 2018? My son plays in more than just USSSA tournaments. I'm concerned, the bat was very expensive and thought would last thru at least his first 2 years of high school, now sounds like will not be eligible to use.
The 2018 COMBAT MAXUM -11 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL8MX211 would be a legal bat in 2018 for travel ball players where the USSSA models are allowed. As this bat is a -11 model it would be best for those 11 and younger. As for the 2018 DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR bat, these bats would be legal for all high school and college age players. It can also be used in USSSA tournaments currently as well as moving forward in 2018. There has been some confusion with regards to the new USA Bats that are required by some leagues in 2018. For more information please review our bat resource guide.
Will COMBAT be making USA rated baseball bats?
Combat will not be making bats with the new USA Baseball Bat certification. The reason is because COMBAT actually went out of business in the fall of 2016. Due to the relationship we had with COMBAT's owner company, the owner company agreed to create some 2018 COMBAT USSSA 1.15 rated bats exclusively for JustBats.com. The owner company unfortunately did not have the money to fund the research and development it would have taken to create COMBAT USA Baseball Bats.
Are you making a new combat little league baseball bat for 2018 the has the stamp USA (2-5/8") approved for little league use?
Combat will not be releasing any bats with the USA baseball stamp.
Is there a drop limit for USSSA big barrel bats for ages 12 and under? If so, what are they?
There is not going to be any drop limitation for USSSA baseball. As long as the bat has the correct USSSA stamp on it the bat is legal for USSSA play. The 2018 COMBAT MAXUM -11 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL8MX211) does have the correct stamp on it.
Is this bat legal for 2018 season? My 13 years old kid is playing travel baseball and would like to know.
This bat will be legal for any USSSA sanctioned tournaments and leagues for 2018.
What is the new USA baseball stamp?
The 2018 COMBAT MAXUM -11 Youth Big Barrel Baseball Bat (SL8MX211) does not feature the new USA Baseball stamp. But, it does feature the USSSA 1.15 BPF certification. You can learn more about the new youth bat standard (USABat) here: http://www.justbats.com/bat-resource-guide/usabat-standard/

What is the difference in specs between this 2018 model and the 2017 SL7MX211?
This 2018 COMBAT MAXUM -11 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL8MX211) will essentially be the same bat as the 2017 MAXUM, but with an updated cosmetic look.
Got a question about the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12 ? Ask our team of experts, and they will respond within 24 hours.Ask A Question OR
My son just made the transition from little league to travel ball. He was swinging 28"/18 oz bat for coach pitch. I see him struggling at the plate catching up to the balls at times and was wondering if I should get this bat in a 28"/16 oz or 27"/15 oz? Would an inch and two ounces be too much of a difference or should I keep the same bat length? My son is 6 1/2 and weighs about 50 pounds.
I would probably stay with a 28"/18 oz model. The 2 oz difference should help a fair bit, however only you would have the best guess since we have never seen him actually swing. A 27"/15 oz seems rather small for a player his age however, and would not be recommended unless he was about 4'2" or shorter.
How does the used bat 14 day guarantee work? Can a player demo during this time and return if they don’t like the bat?
Yes, if you purchase the used 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12 you can use the bat during the 14 day guarantee and if you decide you don't like it for any reason, you can return it for a full refund or exchange.
Will this bat need to be broken in?
With composite bats, like this 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL18GXHL12), we always recommend a break-in period. On the first day of use, I would suggest taking roughly 100-150 swings off a tee, rotating the barrel a 1/4" every 15-20 swings. On the second day of use, I would recommend hitting soft tosses again, rotating the barrel every few swings. After doing this, the composite bat should be broken in!
I'm looking for a new bat. My son plays in a travel league that does not need the BBCOR or USA stamp. He can use a 2 3/4 USSSA bat. I'm trying to decide between this and the 2017 Easton Mako Beast Senior League bat. Is there much difference in the bats? I want a 29 inch bat.
The 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12 would be a one piece composite bat with a -12 length to weight ratio, so it will be a lighter bat overall than the 2017 Easton Mako Beast Senior League bat. The Mako Beast will also be a two piece composite bat, so less vibration will be felt on that bat than on the Ghost X Hyperlite.
Not many reviews on this bat. How would you compare the performance if this model to the Easton Beast model, CF Zen or even a LS Solo 618?
The 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12 is going to be very similar in performance to the three bats that you have listed. It will be a pretty different feel in comparison to the Easton Beast and the CF Zen due to it being a one piece design and those bats featuring a two piece design. The one piece design on the Louisville Slugger Solo and the Easton Ghost X Hyperlight will be a stiffer feel. All of the bats mentioned will be similar in performance.
My son is 9 and weighs 60 pounds. His USA bat is longer but he chokes up between 2-3 inches. This is his first year of travel and looking to get a fast bat to build on confidence, so I got a 27-15oz. His other bat that he chokes up on is 29-18oz. Small guy, so will this bat work for this year?
I would consider the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12 in a 28/16 or 29/17. I think going from a 29/18 to a 27/15 is too big of a jump. I would recommend only going down an inch and an ounce and that will be of enough benefit to increase his bat speed.
Does the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL18GXHL12) have the USA approval/meet the new 2018 bat standards so that my son can use it for select?
The 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL18GXHL12) meets the USSSA certification and does not meet the USA standard. In order to meet the USA standard, your bat will need a diameter of 2 1/4" or 2 5/8" and have the USA stamp. I would suggest taking a look at the 2018 Easton Beast X Hyperlite -12 USA Youth Baseball Bat (YSB18BXHL). This bat meets the USA standard and has a 2 1/4" barrel.
Can you use this bat in travel ball?
Yes, the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12 has the USSSA baseball certification which typically means it is cleared for travel ball. I recommend confirming with a coach prior to purchase.
What are the differences between the 2018 and the 2017 version?
This 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL18GXHL12) will be the same as the 2017 Easton MAKO BEAST HYPERLITE -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL17MK12B) in regard to general design. Both bats have a -12 length-to-weight ratio; 2 3/4" barrel diameter; and one-piece, all-composite design. However, this Ghost X Hyperlite will differ as it features new EXACT Carbon Composite Material that should optimize barrel performance, enlarge the sweet spot and reduce vibration on the 2018 Ghost X.
Is this bat balanced or end-loaded?
This 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL18GXHL12) will feature a balanced swing feel to it.
I just ordered a Ghost X 30/20 and then I saw this. I don't know what bat to use. I know that bat speed is what you want. I used the chart to decide the length of bat but how should I decide the weight? He swings a 29/19 now. Is there a such thing as too light of a bat?
The 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12 is best suited for players 10 and younger. One that is 11 years of age could benefit from this bat if they are on the smaller side. As for as how to decide on the weight, this is going to come down to age and what bat they are currently using and how well they are handling the weight of this bat. Typically, for players 11-12 years of age a -10 bat is best, -8 for a 7th grader and -5 for an 8th grader. One always should swing the heaviest bat possible that will not negatively impact bat speed or swing plane. Going lighter can help improve bat speed but can have a negative effect in terms of durability and distance in stronger players; too light and there is no weight to throw into the baseball.
Why is this bat not a 2-5/8? It's the exact same as the JBB! Will they even make a 2-5/8?
The new USSSA bats that are being made, like the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12, will feature a 2 3/4" barrel diameter. Now that travel ball leagues, USSSA, and Little League, Dixie, Pony, etc. have gone to two different certifications with regards to big barrel bats the trend with USSSA is 2 3/4" barrel diameter.
Is this bat approved for Little League play in 2018?
The 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12 is not approved for play in Little League in 2018. All Little League approved bats for the 2018 season will feature a USABats stamp and these bats, from most manufacturers, will be released in early September.
Would this be a good bat for a kid who is 5 feet tall and 105 pounds? Does it conform to the new 2018 little league rules?
The 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL18GXHL12) is a great bat. However, it will not be certified for little league. The SL16GXHL12 is USSSA certified, but not USA certified. Little league requires a USA certified bat.
When would this product arrive?
The 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12 is currently a pre-book item that is set for shipping on 9/1. Those who place an order for this bat as a pre-book will have free 2 Day Air on the order with a scheduled delivery of 9/5.
