Pros:  Just as much pop as the Maxum at half the cost! Picked up this bat for my son who was wanting a Maxum real bad. After using this bat in practice tonight, he was sending every ball to the fence in the air! A thing of beauty. I really like this bat more than the Maxum because it has a slightly smaller sweet spot, so you actually have to hit the ball with a little more precision, makes the kids better in the long run.

Cons:  None at all! Buy this instead of the Maxum, you won't be sorry!

Pros:  Drop 10 gives the kids a faster bat head speed and they are able to get around faster. They just moved up to a 13-15 yr old team and at 13, they need the speed. They are getting solid contact, no sting and great distance.

Cons:  None yet. Good value for a good bat.

Pros:  Bought this bat for my 10 year old. Has great pop and feel. If you miss there can be some sting but not that bad. Has similar pop to a broken in Maxum (2016 with 1.5 years worth of swings), just about 15 feet shorter distance. Highly recommend!

Cons:  None yet.

Pros:  We purchased this bat for my son playing 10u and I believe that this bat performs just as well if not better that some of the higher end expensive composite bats! In fact, many of the kids on the team started using it and absolutely loved it! It is great that you can get this kind of performance and not break the bank!!! I would defiantly buy another Combat!!!

Cons:  Everyone wants to use it! ;)

Pros:  My son used the 28/18 size this yr and loved it. Now with these being discontinued I bought him the 29/19 and a 30/20. He hit 265 ft on the 29 and then 295 on the 30. He is a skinny 11yr old so this bat gives him great pop and distance for his size. I also just bought the Velo bat for cokd weather and he love that too but had more shock to the hands. These are a steal at this price compared to a slugger 918 price and we feel hits just as far.

Cons:  The only CON is that Easton getting rid of this line. I would go bacj to Slugger without these before I would let my kid swing an Easton. Just our preference.

Pros:  Went up an ounce and son mentioned it even feels lighter than his previous bat. Easy to swing and he seems to have good control as the weight is balanced.

Cons:  First few games it seemed to jump off the bat, now it looks and sounds more like a dud. he still likes to use it and occasional he has a good solid hit but seems to have lost it pop in only one season.

Pros:  Great POP right out of the wrapper and the grip used for this bat, along with the POP and design of the bat, is one feature my son immediately enjoyed. The Quatro collar is also a cool feature for this bat that I feel truly does have a purpose with the absorption. The durability of this bat seems to be way better than some of the other composite bats on the market today.

Cons:  none just yet

Pros:  I figured Rawlings was releasing a gimmicky bat with bright colors. But, my son has used this bat for a few games now and it's amazing. Easy feel that has helped him make contact a lot more. His teammates can't wait to have their own Quatro. Very impressive, Rawlings!

Pros:  Very bright neon will likely distract opposing pitchers.

Cons:  No pop what-so-ever. At a major University camp this past week all players had to use this bat during on-field BP. Not one kid liked it. The bat was dead, and very few kids hit it out of the infield; mostly weak ground balls. Kids used the Velo or 5150 in second round and the results were what you would expect for HS Juniors. Unless this bat is completely re-engineered, DO NOT waste your or your parents money on this neon joke. Stick with the tried and true Velo or 5150!!

Pros:  I demoed this bat at the Cal Ripken World Series. This bat has the greatest pop out of all the bats that I've ever used. Also the grip was great, comfortable in hands. The bat was a demo so it was broke in, but either way it had great pop.

Pros:  Bat has a good feel, right out of the wrapper, with very good pop.

Cons:  After 3 weeks of use, the end cap broke off. Rawlings replaced the bat, after 4 more weeks it shattered. It was a 75 degree day, ball hit the sweet spot and shattered.

Pros:  This bat has good balance and the vibration when a ball is hit off the handle is minimal. It doesn't have the pop that the Velo or the CF7 had.

Cons:  End cap issues for Rawlings. First one didn't make it two weeks before the end cap came off warming up for a game. Rawlings replaced it, but it looks like a design issue and I won't be surprised if this isn't a common issue. Wish I would have bought the CF7 when I had the chance.

Pros:  Guys seemed to like the grip and overall feel of the bat in their hands. Some said it felt light compared to their own bats. Demo was brand new, so not yet broken in, but blew the velo monitor away. The exit velocity averaged 2-5mph over the CF8...team was sold. Get over the color and ended up with 8 of them.

Cons:  Too bright...but that's what the kids like these days.

Pros:  Goodfeel, balanced, minimal vibration.

Cons:  Most of the kids on my sons 12u team has the Quatro bat. We've yet to see any pop out of this bat. I can't understand the high ratings it's getting. After the first two tournaments, no one was hitting the ball hard with this bat. Its almost like it was a piece of soggy wood. Everyone went back to their old DeMarini CF8's and Easton Maco's. Now they are blasting bombs again.

Pros:  none

Cons:  Breaks easily and is junk. Purchased this bat in January of 2017. By June 2017 it had cracked and sent it in for warranty. Bat cracked yesterday in a game and called Rawling's today. They said that if I would have called in January of 2018 they may have considered a warranty but since we are passed the original date of purchase they said no way. This bat is complete junk. I will never buy another bat from them again. And seriously couldn't even offer up a discount of sorts.

Pros:  This bat is hot out of the box! My son is 8years old he plays travel baseball and we purchased this bat after he tried several of the other bbcor models and didnt care for them. He is a big guy at 4’7 and 98lbs, solid contact hitter with a big swing. This bat is truly perfect for him! Nice balanced bat with no sting or vibration, the ball HOPS off the thing and theres plenty of sweet spot even when you get jammed up. Reccommend for a kid thats used to swinging hard and likes the balanced feel. A+ from us on product, cust service rocks and shipping was fast and free!

Cons:  My son doesnt care for the bright color thats his one and only complaint.

Will this bat be legal under the new rules in 2018 (for USSSA)? I know it probably won't be for Cal Ripken.

USSSA is not changing their rules for the 2018 season. The only leagues that are changing their rules are Little League, Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken, Pony, Dixie, and AABC. Those leagues will require the new USA Baseball stamp. With that being said, the 2017 COMBAT VIGOR -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: VG2SL110 will be legal for USSSA play in 2018.

How would you compare this to the Vigor that is 2 3/4 barrel. Do you gain pop for less barrel surface. Trying to decide which bat for a 9 year old hitter.

You would see a little better performance out of a 2 3/4" barrel due to the thinner barrel walls. The 2 5/8" diameter of the 2017 COMBAT VIGOR -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: VG2SL110 will offer increased durability.

Any idea how these compare to the old Combat B4 Portent line of bats. Both are 1 piece composite with 2 5/8" barrel.

The 2017 COMBAT VIGOR -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (VG2SL110) is very comparable to the Combat B4 Portant line. They have comparable designs and use a similar composite material. My son wants a COMBAT MAXUM but I'm not dropping that much money when the new USA Bat standard starts next year. Is this bat anywhere near comparable to the MAXUM?

The 2017 COMBAT VIGOR -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: VG2SL110 will feature a one-piece fully composite design with a balanced swing weight just like the MAXUM model. The difference that one will find with the Vigor is that the barrel length is not as extended thus giving the bat a slightly smaller sweet spot and less balanced swing weight feel when compared to the MAXUM line. Overall, it is a very good bat especially for someone looking for a discounted option as one awaits the transition to the new USABat stamped models.

What is the difference between the Quatro and the Velo?

The 2017 Rawlings Quatro Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7Q10) and the 2017 Rawlings VELO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7V10) are going to be very different bats. The Rawlings Velo is going to be a one piece aluminum bat. It will have a stiff feel when hitting the ball due to its one piece design. The sound of the ball coming off the bat will be extremely loud, due to the Acoustic Alloy that Rawlings uses with this particular bat. The Rawlings Quatro is going to be a multi piece composite bat. It is going to have more flex than the Velo because it is not a one piece bat. Some vibration is lost with the Vibration Dampening Technology used in the Quatro. Both are high end, high performing bats. Whether a player preferred one or the other would be based off of personal preference.
