Pros:  Very well balanced bat. It's not hand weighted or end weighted, it's very well balanced. It has a great feel to it and it's very easy to get through the zone. The pop is fantastic, better than the 916 and Maxum and Voodoo. Little to no vibration. The bat looks amazing too. The white looks great when it's dirty.

Cons:  None, except maybe the grip, but that's an easy fix with tape.

Pros:  Amazing pop. Ball seems to fly off the bat even on a bad swing. Very easy to square up a ball.

Cons:  I used it in one tournament and the dugouts had concrete floors, you would have thought i had had the bat for years. Scratches easily, marks up easy as well.

Pros:  I just got this bat a couple weeks ago and I already love it. It has great pop and a good clean sound. I like the bigger barrell and i have the 34 in bat and i would recommend it to anybody strong enough to swing it.

Cons:  The only con about this bat is that it is white and gets dirty easy.

Pros:  â€¢ Good Bat, swings well • Pop at start was OK, but after a month it is great • Paint looks sexy as heck when dirty • Sounds nice when hit • I am a 5' 7" 175 lbs 14 year old (just turned 14 about a month ago when wroting this) and i play with 10th graders in 8th grade and I can compete with them with this bat • Would Buy again 33"30 oz version is the one i got and it was nice

Cons:  â€¢ This may just be my thing, but i hit a lot of ground balls with this bat, if you are fast this maybnot be an issue to you but i am not, so this would be an issue for me BUT this may just be my thing so this can be overlooked • Another issue I had was tape, but thisnid typical of any Easton bat, just retape it with Lizard Skin

Pros:  I swung the original Maxcor bat from Mizuno and I think this one is even better. The barrel is softer and sounds like a wood bat but it's the absolute best feeling bat on the market. I see a major performance difference when I use the Maxcor compared to my teammates bats. This bat is sick!

Cons:  None

Pros:  I was a little hesitant to try something new. So far I'm very glad we gave this bat a shot. Its very nicely balanced. My son moved up from a 31/28 to a 32/29, he's about 58" tall and weights 155lbs. I was a little concerned about the weight but he is having no trouble at all getting the bat through the zone. He says it has a really good feel when you hit the ball. The grip is nice and sticky which is great for him because he does not like to wear gloves. It seems to have plenty of pop in the BP sessions we've had so far. Other than that its a great looking bat. The sound of the ball coming off it is really nice too. It sounds like a wood bat. So far we are really happy with this purchase.

Cons:  None so far

Pros:  Ball jumps off the bat right out of the plastic. Very happy I decided to pick this bat. great price...great bat. my son is 17 and about 170 lbs. and has no trouble getting the 33/30 around. Great weight distribution on the bat. Thank you JustBats.

Cons:  Just normal wear and tear on a bat. Nothing unusual for a bat and my son has been using in tournament play all the time and the bat is still in great shape.

Pros:  I tried this bat last year but hated the look. Mizuno followed up with a much better looking bat this year. If you are about having an advantage at the plate, get this bat! It sounds different, feels different, looks different but it performs different. I think it hits like my old high school BESR bats.

Cons:  None. This bat is awesome!

Pros:  I had heard good things about this bat and got it for my son not knowing the barrel is a different/soft material. I wanted to send it back but my son wanted to give it a try. I guess different is good because he loves it. It sounds like a wood bat which threw us both off but the ball jumps off the barrel. We do see a difference in performance when hitting in the cage vs live pitching. The bat definitely performs in game situations. My boy is 6' and weights 195lbs.

Cons:  Soft material on barrel and sounds like a wood bat but hits extremely well.

Pros:  I love this bat! Now that we are finally outside I can see what the Mizuno guy was talking about at the demo day I attended. The ball really does go farther because of the backspin this bat creates (haven't been able to see that hitting in a cage). It sounds like a wood bat but that doesn't mean it doesn't perform like aluminum or composite bats. In fact I think it's even better, especially against those high velocity fastballs! This bat murders the ball!

Cons:  Comes with a cool bat sleeve that I don't ever think I'll use.

Pros:  The Maxcor is no joke. Definitely no other bat like it on the market. The ball jumps off the bat & it sounds good too.. My son is not a big power hitter but hit a couple 300 foot shots with it.

Cons:  None so far. The barrel sleeve still looks good after 200 or so hits

Pros:  Sons first BBCOR bat stepping up from a youth bat. Was worried about him getting this bat around however it is extremely balanced and he is having no problem. This bat is as advertised huge sweetspot and no breakin required. Cant wit to see how it performs on the diamond. Havent had bat long enough to rate durability thats why the low rating.

Cons:  The bat is different from every bat on the market and draws a lot of curiosity if your not into that attention.

Pros:  The ball jumps off the very well with fast pitching. My son is a very good high school hitter. Loved the feel of the bat. Very little vibration. Sounded great. Was able to move the ball around the field. Best bat he ever used to bunt with.

Cons:  No pop at all with slower pitches. I`m a former college player . I tried it I in the cages. Not impressed compared to other bats. I`m not sold on the gimmicky rubber sleeve. Not sure about durability. It has a 1 year guarantee. They give you a 30 trial. I suggest trying it yourself.

Pros:  My 14 year old grandson got this bat a couple of weeks ago, and loves it so far. He's only used it in batting cage, not a game yet. He says its well balanced, with lots of pop. He's looking forward to using it this season.

Cons:  Nothing yet- 3 stars for durability, since he's only had it for a short time.

Pros:  Few people have said no pop maybe your swing isn't right I've used a lot of bats and the way the design these crappy bbcor bats to begin with is crap but out of a lot I've used this is one of the better feeling and pop there is. Then again there is really no pop in bbcor bats that's what their designed for less pop so people don't get hurt like they use too when we used aluminum bats y'all have no idea what pop is compared to my day and this crap they call aluminum you hit one of the ones like I used as a kid the TPX sounded like an explosion and these bats don't vibrate I see that a lot in the comments hit a small handle wood bat in the wrong place with no gloves these are good bats with a lot of technology put into them but 450 for a bat when it first comes out not worth it do most of you know it's the same bat from last year just a different name and color wrapping

Cons:  Over priced

Pros:  The maxcor is a very balanced bat. I felt a little weird in trying something new, but it worked out. The ball just bounces of the sleeve, and hits farther than the mako, demarini, or lousville slugger. The grip is less stiky than lizard skin, but durable in any condition. I absoultly live this bat, and its hoing for a great price.

Cons:  None yet, a little hand sting when you get jammed though.

How long should I expect this bat to last if I treat it well and do not hit batting cage dimple balls with it?

Is this two-piece half and half version of this bat or the one-piece alloy version better for a power hitter? Which one of these bats has a more balanced swing weight?

Both bats will have nearly identical swing weight in terms of balance. Generally speaking, power hitters tend to prefer a one-piece design for the stiffer feel, while contact hitters like more flex that the two-piece design offers.

Kyle J. Expert

Is this bat end-loaded, handle-heavy, or balanced? How would the swing weight of this bat compare to that of the Omaha 515? Also, what size bat should a 6'2", 200 lb sophomore get? How long should I expect this bat to last if I treat it well and do not hit the dimple batting cage balls with it?

This bat is a balanced model, and should have a swing weight comparable to the Omaha 516. We would suggest a 33-34" length of bat for someone that size. Life expectancy is impossible to predict as we don't know how often each person players each year, but a rough estimate is 1-2 years for most bats with good care.

I have a 11 year old son. He is 5'6" tall and 170 lbs, what would be a good bat for him?

We would suggest a 32" length of bat for his height and weight. For his age, he probably would use Senior League or Youth Big Barrel bats. These are terms that mean the same thing, which are a category of bats for kids below high school level. If his league requires BBCOR, then you want to look at those bats instead.

I am 14 years old and currently have this model (Z-CORE Hybrid) in a 32 inch size. I'm 5'1" but have a lot of arm strength. Is this the right size for me?

Based on your age and height we would typically recommend getting the 2016 Easton Z-CORE Hybrid BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16ZH in a 31 inch model. Since this bat is going to be slightly end-loaded one could swing a 32 inch if they do not feel it causes any issues with their bat speed or bat plane. My son is 5'10" and 145 lbs. What size bat would he need? And does this bat have a pop/crack or a ping sound at contact?

Based upon your player's height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of getting this 2016 Easton Z-CORE Hybrid BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16ZH) in the 32" length as long as he can handle the 29 oz weight. This hybrid bat will have a ping noise at contact due to the alloy barrel, but the ping won't be as distinct off this hybrid bat as it would be off an all-alloy bat.

Does the Z-CORE have more pop than the 2016 Easton MAKO BBCOR?

Whether you would want the 2016 Easton Z-CORE Hybrid BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16ZH) or the Easton Mako BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16MK) is going to be a personal preference. Both are going to be very quality bats. The Easton Z-CORE is a one piece aluminum bat and the Easton Mako is a two piece composite bat. Different players are going to prefer different styles of bats. Typically contact hitters prefer two piece designs while power hitters like the one piece design. But that is just a generalization and it really is up to the specific player.

A kid on our team has the Z-CORE Hybrid XL and my son really liked it. He tried his bat and went 4-4 with two stand-up doubles; they were line drives to the fence. Now he wants one. However, the bat already has a rattle to it. Not sure why it would do that. Any ideas? When do the 2017 models normally come out?

Most rattles that occur with bats are the result of the adhesive glue that is applied to the end cap of the bats. When excess adhesive is applied it will dry up inside and form a solid structure (picture an icicle hanging from the gutter of a house). When a player begins to use the bat this excess glue will start to chip away/break and will lodge itself in the barrel causing a pebble like or grains of sand sound. This does not affect the performance of the bat whatsoever. AS for the 2017 models, these are typically released around the middle of June.

Based upon your son's height and weight, I would recommend using a 30" 2016 Easton Z-CORE Hybrid BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16ZH. This particular model is a two-piece hybrid design that will feature an alloy barrel so you are correct in stating that this will not require a break-in period.

It will differ from the MAKO models that have a two-piece design, but an all-composite build. My son is 14 years old. He is 6'1" and 150 lbs. He is a power hitter. Is an end loaded two-piece bat good for him?

Is it a bad idea to use this bat in cold weather? How does that negatively effect the performance of the bat? How cold does it have to be before you can no longer use a 2 piece bat? Some early high school games it's in the high 30s low 40s. Is it okay to use then?

Here at JustBats, we do not recommend using or storing bats in temperatures colder than 60 degrees. However, we know this is unavoidable in certain parts of the country, so we just recommend limiting your use of the bat in these temperatures. The colder temperatures can reduce the life of the bat and make the bat more prone to damage.

Does cold weather effect a hybrid bat like the cold effects a composite bat? What type of bat construction do you recommend for weather around 50- 55 degrees? My son is a contact hitter.

The 2016 Easton Z-CORE Hybrid BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16ZH is a two-piece hybrid bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel. Neither alloy or composite are great performance or durability wise in cold weather (under 70 degrees Fahrenheit) but alloy barrels, like the 2016 Easton Z-CORE Hybrid BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16ZH, would be better suited for the colder weather. Is the MAXCOR good for temperatures lower than 55 degrees?

We actually do not particularly recommend using any bat at temperatures below 55 degrees. When the temperature sinks below 55 degrees, the ball becomes denser and has the ability to damage the barrel walls of the bat. If a player is participating in a practice that is being held in conditions with a temperature below 55 degrees, we would recommend using an older model bat that will no longer be used for games or even a wooden bat. If a game is being held in conditions below 55 degrees we would recommend taking BP with a non-game model bat (or wooden model) and then only using the 2016 Mizuno MAXCOR BBCOR Baseball Bat (MAXCOR) in the actual game.

Another year of R&D and this innovative design is back to change the perception of what a baseball bat can/should be. MAXCOR's tech sheet goes on-and-on, but the highlight of this design is the Viscoelastic Polyurethane Sleeve on its barrel. You won't find this material on any other bat on the market, but it creates not only a longer sweet spot - but a wider circumferential sweet spot. That means that hitters not only receive more forgiveness and enhanced performance closer to the handle and end cap, but they're able to miss the sweet spot on the vertical access at contact and still achieve success. The VP Sleeve also promotes more backspin on contact which results in more carry - and can possibly be the difference between WTP and putting runs up on the board. Under that sleeve lies a new, Variable Wall Thickness Alloy Core. This proprietary core Utilizes 5 different wall thicknesses to optimize performance along the barrel; while still meeting BBCOR standards. Other new aspects to the 2016 model include a more-balanced swing weight and a redesigned Dynamic Damper transition piece that eliminates more vibration and is more-streamlined than last the one found on last year's MAXCOR.

The 2016 Mizuno MAXCOR BBCOR Baseball Bat: MAXCOR features a -3 length to weight ratio, 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter, and the BBCOR Certification making it legal for High School and Collegiate play. Customer Testimonial

The bat arrived right on time, but when it snapped, Sean offered a one-time replacement and even suggested some bamboo bats when I asked about durability. Thank you SO much!
