Pros:  Good pop. Ball comes off bat fast. My 7 year old son has hit two inside the park homeruns. I don't mean 7 year olds fumbling the ball homeruns I mean hitting the ball over heads and rolling to the 223' part of the field. He has hit a few doubles and numerous singles. He enjoys hitting with this bat. Great bat to gain confidence. After his second homerun he stated, "Dad I'm so proud of myself."

Cons:  Seemed to me the bat needed to be broken in. After about 50-100 hits through practice this bat started to perform.

Pros:  Grandson loves this bat! Got him a 27/17. He has been using it every week with his hitting lessons and it has good pop, very durable, and most importantly he says it has NO STING. Better get one before they're gone

Cons:  No 28/18.

Pros:  Great purchase for the first year of kid pitch. My son is 7 and has been hitting well with this bat. He has a hard hit double to the fence in each game this spring. I bought the 27/17 for a seven year old and he feels confident at the plate. The bat has a unique sound to it and i really like it! The entire team is using this bat now. For the price you can't beat it so buy the bat and let your kid make contact and become a better hitter before dropping serious money on a bat.

Cons:  For 50 bucks...none!

Pros:  Solid feel with good pop right out of the wrapper. Feels lighter than its true weight which is good for us. My son went 3-3 in his first fame with this bat with solid line drives after struggling to make solid contact with his other bats all season. Its given him the confidence we have been lacking so far!!

Cons:  None to mention at this point.

Pros:  Looks and swings fine, it's just dead. My 8U all star team used this as the team bat to hit heavy balls in warm ups so we didn't mess up anyone's bat that actually has pop. It's not awful and actually hits pretty well for my 4 year old, but the older kids with power...it just doesn't have any.

Cons:  Just has no pop. It sounds like hitting with a cardboard box and is just dead.

Pros:  cheap price, entry bat for a young player

Cons:  I have gone through 2 and both lost their pop and sounded hollow after a few hits. You can hear the change. Justbats makes you work with Demarini and they will only replace the bat once. Save you money and buy something else and perhaps from somewhere close to where you live so you can get a better warranty. I would not recommend this purchase.

Pros:  I bought the 28/18 for my 7 year old who was swinging a 27/17 Slugger 517. The bat is very balanced with the unique composite end cap and the pop is amazing. The difference in pop from the 517 to this bat is unbelievable. This bat really puts the ball out there when we did the side-by-side comparison and it didn't have anything to do with the additional inch in size. My son loves how loud it is as well. Great bat to bridge kids from the Jr. big barrel to a higher level Sr. league bat. Best aluminum bat I've bought in the last 5 years and with 2 boys, I've bought a lot.

Cons:  Sting from this bat on mishit balls is more pronounced than on previous easton and Louisville bats we have owned but not enough to concern. My son didn't like the grip that came on it so we swapped it out with a lizard skin an he is happy now. The grip was good, but is very thick and made it harder for the 7u player with smaller hands to grip. That switch likely contributed to additional sting, but had to do it.

Pros:  I got the bbcor version for my younger brother and he had great review and experience, so decided to get my son one as well 28/18 (he is a 7u/8u player). we are a marucci family, loved the cat 6&7 but this bat really put the cat 7 to rest. great balance and pop. rawlings did its thing with this one

Cons:  the grip

Pros:  My son is a 11u travel player, 5'3" 100 pounds, tall w long arms. He felt more comfortable with the 2 5/8 with the thinker handle for his big hands. Couple of our power hitters went 2 3/4 with the thinner handle. College players at a pro shop/training facility recommended this last year as having the best combination of balance, speed and pop. It's true, the kids love these bats and the performance is really good.

Cons:  1-piece, little sting with mis-hits, not sure on durability let, very stiff but the performance is outweighing the feel for our boys.

Pros:  Only had this bat for about two months so it's hard to tell about durability but we just switched from the 2015 "5150" and it was still in great shape, just outgrew it. Really good pop and is really loud when it hits the ball which I feel can startle the defense just a little bit as a bonus. Lol. I use it some to hit grounders and fly balls in practice and it seems well balanced. Already had a couple of parents order one for their players.

Cons:  None so far.

Pros:  No one in our area has one but my 10 year old grandson. I guarantee I will see more now. He said it immediately felt right in terms of look, grip and swing feel. Used it to practice for 1 week before tournament play. 1st games had great results. Exit velocity seems intense. Comparative cost with other bats of Velo caliber is a plus. I spoke to a vendor who has great knowledge of the bat before the purchase and he said, "Get the Velo for your grandson and he will thank you for it." He already has.

Cons:  None yet. Only 2 weeks in. I can't comment on durability although I have not heard that there is a problem.

Pros:  very light swing weight. son had been using combat but i wanted to go to alloy. 10u contact hitter. he sisnt all of a sudden start hitting dingers but he started hitting harder hits. went from batting 6&7 to 2nd. for a smaller kid i would definately recommend this. lightest swing weight out there and i tested 12 different bats. love the soundnof a solid hit.

Cons:  the barrel doesnt look as long and isnt compared to others. main reason is handle is thicker to get swing weight down. grip isnt as good as others preference wise. put a thick lizard skin on. son hasnt complained about the sting much at all

How does this compare to the newer Voodoo balanced? 26"/16 oz, 2 5/8" barrel. What is a good recommendation for that size?

We have 2 options currently available for a 26"/16 oz bat with a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. They are the 2016 Easton S3 Junior Big Barrel (JBB16S310) and the 2017 DeMarini Voodoo Junior Big Barrel (DXVBX). Both are excellent options.

We've only used this bat once, and I expected to hear a "ping" noise on contact, but what we got was more of a crack or pop. I thought this was unusual, but has anyone else experienced this?

This 2016 DeMarini Voodoo Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDX) is made with a one-piece, all-alloy design to it which typically produces a "ping" noise at contact. I haven't heard many other complaints in regard to the sound being produced by the bat at contact with a ball. However, if the bat is performing well, I wouldn't let the sound being produced by the bat, keep you from using the bat in practice or games.

(1) What's the difference between the DeMarini Voodoo Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDX) and the DeMarini Vexxum NVS Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXY)? (2) Do 2 1/4" bats have longer sweet spots? (3) Do you recommend using a big barrel bat?

(1) This 2016 DeMarini Voodoo Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDX) will be a one-piece, all-alloy bat with a 2 5/8" barrel diameter and -10 length-to-weight ratio. The DeMarini Vexxum NVS Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXY) is a hybrid bat (alloy barrel and composite handle) with a 2 3/4" barrel and -10.5" length-to-weight ratio. Overall, I think the bats will feel pretty similar in their weighting. Biggest difference in feel will be at contact. This Voodoo will be stiff at contact while the Vexxum will feature flex (due to its 2-piece design). (2) There may be some youth bats (2 1/4" diameter) that have a longer barrel length than some big barrel bats (2 5/8" or 2 3/4" diameter). The general thinking is that the longer the barrel length; the bigger the sweet spot. However, I would not say that as a general rule, the barrel lengths and sweet spots on the youth barrels will be longer than what is on big barrel bats. (3) I always recommend using a big barrel bat if it is allowed because the big barrel bats typically cover up more area of the strike than the youth barrel bats.

My son is almost 6 and plays coach pitch and T-ball (he has a great skill set and does well). He currently uses a 26" (-10) Easton S3. I'm thinking he may get more bat speed with a shorter bat. (1) Should I get a shorter bat? (2) How does this bat compare with the 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL17S310) - 2 5/8"?

(1) If he did just fine with a 26"/16 oz bat this past year, then I don't think getting him a smaller bat would be a necessary move. I would suggest to probably just stay at that same size. (2) This 2016 DeMarini Voodoo Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDX) and the 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL17S310) will both feature an all-alloy build and a 2 5/8" barrel. Overall, I think the bats will have a pretty similar potential for performance.

My oldest son had a DeMarini Voodoo, and I loved it. Will this bat as good as the CAT 6?

This 2016 DeMarini Voodoo Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDX) will compare most similarly to the Junior Big Barrel model of the Cat 6. Both bats will be single-piece, all-alloy bats with balanced swing weights. Overall, it will be hard to compare the bats in regard to performance because the Cat 6 has gotten really impressive reviews, but this Voodoo has yet to receive any feedback on our website.

I am looking for a 26 inch 16 ounce 2 5/8 inch barrel bat for my son. His coach recommended the Easton S3 but I cant find it in the size we need. How does the DeMarini compare to the Easton S3 26 inch 16 ounce 2 5/8 inch barrel? Can my son use the DeMarini for Pony baseball?

Youth big barrel or Senior League models like the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDX) do not typically come in that size. Actually, it is the only model we currently have in that size. The 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310) only goes as small as a 28 inch 18 ounce.

Description for 2017 Rawlings VELO Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7V10
New for 2017! The Rawlings VELO has earned a reputation for being one of the lightest and fastest swinging baseball bats on the market from year to year and the newest version completely backs it up. Never in the history of baseball have more pitchers touched 90+ mph so hitters have less time to react at the dish, and there's no time for error. If the game is evolving to become this fast, then shouldn't your bat be? Thanks to the VELO's Silver Comp Lite composite end cap that is fiber reinforced, unnecessary weight is removed from the end of the barrel, shifting the MOI towards the player's hands. If your increased swing speed or the awesome cosmetics don't turn heads at the ball field, the enhanced pop and resonating ping from the acoustic alloy surely will. Rawlings' acoustic alloy enhances the durability and is the loudest alloy on the market - the proof is in the ping! Not only does this VELO offer the loudest ping in the industry, but the precision laser pOp 2.0 creates a lasered groove through the sweet spot that increases flexibility and the trampoline effect. Extreme balance, an explosive swing speed, and massive pop are the three things that make up the winning combination the VELO offers. Rawlings: The Mark of a Pro!

This 2017 Rawlings VELO Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7V10 features a -10 length to weight ratio, a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter, and the USSSA 1.15 BPF Certification. The one-piece alloy construction is also backed by a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty. Purchase your own VELO today with fast, free shipping!
