Pros:  This bat has a great feel as soon as you pick it up. Normally a 2 piece composite bat has a bit of a heavy feel to it towards the end cap but this bat is light. I got a 33 and at times I feel that I'm batting with a 31 or 32.

Cons:  Inside pitches may be killer but the vibration does not hurt. It may sting for a couple of seconds

Pros:  Well balanced, great pop, easy to control bat. Great pop and handles vibration well. Can't speak to durability yet but our first Adidas bat stood the test of time. First game with this bat and my son went three for four.

Cons:  None that I can see. If you don't like an end loaded bat this may not be for you but I would encourage you to take some cuts before you pre-judge this.

Pros:  I was hoping because of it's name - Adidas - it would be decent quality. My expectation have been blown away. This a top line bat and it feels very solid, no vibration and has lots of hit in it. The bonus - the price!

Cons:  Doesn't hit balls over the fence :-)

Pros:  Being a Contact Hitter, the bat has a bigger sweet spot than my past bats. I don't have tons of power but the pop in this bat is great once you have it broken in. It's a 32/29 and it feels way lighter and is easier to swing than any other 32/29 that I have used. I'd highly recommend this bat.

Cons:  None that I can see after using the bat for a little over a month really. Besides, anything off the end of the bat does really shock your hands.

Pros:  This is the lightest swinging BBCOR bat I have ever swung. It allows me to have good swing control, nice pop, and little to no vibration. Color scheme looks a lot better in person...

Cons:  Paint on barrel chips and I had to replace bat grip, but other than that no real problems...

Cons:  Bat shows a lot of dirt for minimal use thus far but performance is more important to me!

Pros:  I have swung this bat for two years now and it's the best bat I have ever used. I tried switching bats this year but it didn't work. This bat has such a great feel to it and no other bat is even comparable to it. This is the best bat to ever be made. It is light and has insane pop with a great feel to the swing. Demarini needs to continue making the NVS series.

Pros:  Great overall bat seems lighter than most 32/29 bats TONS of pop. You can hit dingers without even trying. Easily the best bat I have ever used. I am 14 and I hit a homer about 320 to left center a couple days ago and I feel like I barely swung.

Cons:  It stings a little but that's probably because I get jammed a lot.

How does this bat compare and differ to the 2015 EQT X2 bat?

This 2016 Adidas EQT X2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (X2) and the 2015 Adidas EQT X2 Baseball Bat BBCOR Baseball Bat (EQTX2) will be pretty similar as both bats are two-piece, hybrid bats (alloy barrel and composite handle). The biggest difference that I was able to note was the cosmetics of each bat and that this 2016 model may have a little bit of an extended barrel design to it.

Does the carbon fiber handle reduce vibration better than other composites?

The two-piece design of this 2016 Adidas EQT X2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (X2) will naturally limit some of the vibration that can make it down to your player's hands on a miss-hit. As well, Adidas notes that this Carbon Fiber Handle assists with energy transfer on the bat (which generally means that the design of the handle should help with limiting vibration). However, I wouldn't say that this Adidas model specifically limits vibration better than other comparable bats with composite handles.

My 14 yo son is 5'7", 105 lbs, and mostly a contact hitter. Last year he was quite a bit smaller, and had a lot of success with the Vexxum NVS 31/21, but he has grown about 10" since then. What size/weight bat do you recommend? Is there a specific bat you'd recommend? He plays Babe Ruth 13-15.

Given your player's specifications, I would recommend a 31" bat. In Babe Ruth 13-15 I believe you are allowed to use either a USA or BBCOR bat with the drop weight of your choice. However, with your son being 14 now and getting close to having to use a BBCOR bat, I think this DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC would be a great choice.

Tyler Expert

Would this be a good bat for a 15 year old that is 6’1”, over 200 lbs, and has power?

The DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC is a great option for both contact and power hitters alike. This model features a balanced swing weight with a hybrid design (alloy barrel and composite handle).

(1) What is the difference between the alloy on the Vexxum (x12) versus the alloy on the Voodoo (x14)? (2) Is the barrel longer in the Voodoo than the Vexxum?

(1) DeMarini does not really differentiate much between the X12 alloy on the Vexxum and the X14 alloy on the Voodoo. (2) Yes, the Voodoo Barrel Length should be longer than the barrel length on the Vexxum.

Which bat is better the DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC or the Louisville Slugger Prime 917 BBCOR Bat 2017 (-3)?

Both the DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC and the LS Prime 917 BBCOR bats are great options to consider. The DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC is a two-piece hybrid design while the Prime 917 is a fully composite model. The swing weight and vibration reduction capabilities of the Prime 917 will have a slight edge. The Vexxum meanwhile will be more game ready out of the wrapper due to its alloy barrel. This bat will also have better durability in colder weather. With the strict performance regulations that are placed on all BBCOR models it would be tough to say whether either of these bats will have a better ability to outperform the other.

Cameron Expert

I'm 5 ft 11 in and 190 lbs. I bat 3 or 4 hole. Would you recommend this bat or the MAKO BEAST?

Both the 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC and the Easton MAKO BEAST are balanced models featuring a two-piece design. The main difference would be the MAKO BEAST being fully composite while the 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC is a hybrid design featuring an alloy barrel and composite handle. We would recommend getting the bat that suits your preference with regards to barrel material construction and the size to get would be a 33 inch 30 ounce.

Cameron Expert

My son is 14 yrs old and going to be a freshman in the fall. He's 5'10" 180 lbs and is mostly a contact hitter with occasional power. He has used the Easton MAKO the past 2 yrs, but was looking for maybe something new. What would you guys recommend?

Based on your player's height and weight, we would recommend getting a 33 inch model. If you feel the player would benefit more from a 32 inch bat based on his age then that is certainly a viable option as well. As for the 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC, this a great option to consider. This bat has a hybrid construction with an alloy barrel and composite handle.

Based on your height and weight, the best length to get the 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC in is a 31''. All BBCOR bats are going to a -3, so you would be best suited for a 31'' and 28 oz.

I am 5'10" and 220 lbs. I typically hit for power (mostly for extra base hits). (1) What type of bat would you recommend if I wanted more power or (2) if I wanted to hit for contact?

Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend looking to a 33"/30 oz BBCOR bat. (1) If you were wanting to get a DeMarini BBCOR bat with a bit of an end-load that may help increase your power, I would recommend looking to a bat like the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCIC). That bat has more mass in the barrel and if the extra mass can be swung effectively, then you would be able to hit the ball further. (2) If you want a bat with more of a balanced swing weight, then I would recommend this 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVXC) as it is balanced swinging and can be controlled easily through the strike zone by any type of hitter.

I am looking for a new bat and this upcoming season we need to use BBCOR. I am stuck between 3 bats. Either this NVS Vexxum or Voodoo or Louisville 716. I used the same Voodoo Overlord the last two years as a power hitter. I still want something quick and solid that is aluminum or hybrid. Which bat would you recommend me? I'm 13, 5'6'' and 135 lbs power hitter.

All of the bats would be great options if you are looking for a hybrid design. They all are a little different, which may help your decision. The 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC will feature the two-piece hybrid design, with the balanced swing weight. The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC will a two-piece hybrid design as well, but with a full end loaded swing weight. Lastly, the 2016 Louisville Slugger Select 716 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBS7163 will also feature the two-piece hybrid design, but with a slightly end loaded swing weight. If you are looking for an end loaded bat, I would recommend the Voodoo Raw. If you are looking for a balanced swing weight, then I would recommend the Vexxum. Whereas, the Select 716 offers you a bat that is in the middle of the two other options.

I am deciding between this and the Louisville Slugger 716. I am in BBCOR and I am about 5'4"/5'3" 110 lbs and a contact type hitter. Which of these bats should I chose? I play spring and fall travel so I would like my bat to last.

Both the 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC and the LS 716 BBCOR would be good bats to consider. The 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC and the LS 716 are two-piece hybrid bats featuring a composite handle with an alloy barrel. Generally, contact-type hitters will prefer a two-piece bat with a balanced swing weight. The LS 716 will feature more of an end-loaded swing weight and so it may be better for you to go with the 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC in a 30 inch 27 ounce model.

I'm deciding between this 2016 Vexxum and the 2016 Rawlings VELO. Which offers more durability and pop?

Based upon customer reviews, you'll see that both bats being considered will have excellent ratings in regard to durability and performance. However, the number of reviews we have on the VELO greatly outnumbers the reviews left on this 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVXC). In regard to the volume of reviews received, I would have to give the VELO the slight nod for both categories over the Vexxum at this point.

What's the difference between this and last years Vexxum?

The biggest noticeable difference between the 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC and the DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC (2015 model) is going to be cosmetics. That is typically the first noticeable difference in bats from year to year. However, the biggest difference in performance and structure is going to be the sweet spot. The 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC is going to feature a bigger sweet spot, in comparison to the 2015 model.

What is the difference between the 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR and the 2015 model?

The 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVXC features DeMarini's new X12 Alloy that allows for optimal strength and flex. It also has their Big D End Cap that helps both absorb vibration and keep the swing weight low.

I have swung the CF5 31 inch 28 ounce and it feels reasonably light and I like swinging it. Would you recommend that bat or a Vexxum? I am a smaller guy who doesn't produce a lot of power and I am looking for a light fast bat. Is this bat a little more tricky to hit the ball with a smaller barrel than the CF series?

The 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVXC) is well balanced like the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) but it does feature a slightly smaller barrel for a bit smaller sweet spot. Which one would be better would depend on your preference. Both are great bats.

Why doesn't DeMarini make a 28" or 29" BBCOR Vexxum? Junior high school baseball rules dictate that if a player wants to use a 2 5/8" barrel bat, it has to be a drop -3, otherwise they have to use a 2 1/4" barrel bat with no drop restriction. However, the smaller players who can't swing a 27 oz or heavier bat are at a disadvantage by having to swing a small barrel bat. For smaller players who could swing a 25 or 26 oz bat, there are no choices, other than the Louisville Slugger Omaha which comes in a 29" drop -3. I would buy a 28" or 29" drop -3 Vexxum immediately if it was available.

Getting BBCOR bats like the 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVXC) certified with BBCOR approval is a lengthy, difficult, and costly process and getting a bat that size certified as a -3 is very difficult to achieve while still maintaining the same performance characteristics of the larger bats. BBCOR certification was originally intended for high school and collegiate play as players get bigger and stronger and face faster pitching. Since that time, some middle school play has instituted this rule as well but it is not universal across the board. It has been a process for bat companies to try to react to this trend and account for these unforeseen players starting to use the bats. Because BBCOR bats weren't originally intended for that style of use, they are not widely produced smaller than 31 inches. However, they are starting to produce more smaller sizes. It just may take time for it to become more common.

I am thinking about getting the 2016 Vexxum NVS BBCOR, bat but the shorter barrel worries me. As a power hitter, should I think about something else like the Voodoo Raw, CF7, CF8?

While the 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR (DXVXC) can and has worked well for power hitters, some of them do prefer their bat to have a more end loaded feel to them like the DeMarini Voodoo RAW has.

What is so much better about the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR baseball bat that makes it $250 more than the 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat?

The composite material in the barrel of the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) explains the price difference compared 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVXC). Composite material is more expensive to work with and requires more manufacturing steps so they are always higher priced than alloy barrel bats like the Vexxum. Alloy barrel bats are hot out of the wrapper and do not require any break-in to perform. Composite barrel bats will need a short break-in period (usually 100-150 swings of soft toss or tee work while rotating the barrel) to reach the performance potential you would want. The trade off is that while alloy bats tend to dull or dent over time and lose performance, composite bats will get hotter and hotter over time until they eventually fail. The way they age differently allows composite bats to usually last in their peak performance longer than alloy barrel bats do.

I am looking at bats and I am going to choose either the 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat, or the 2016 Louisville Slugger Omaha 516 BBCOR Baseball Bat. Which bat would you recommend for me? I am more of a contact hitter, not a power hitter.

Either the 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVXC) or the 2016 Louisville Slugger Omaha 516 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBO5163) should work well for a contact hitter. If you like the flex and sting protection of a two=piece design, I would go with the Vexxum. If you like a stiffer feel for more control, I would recommend the Omaha.

BALANCE + CONTROL + SPEED - The 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS.

The Vexxum NVS, the lightest-swinging aluminum bat in DeMarini's lineup, is all about generating bat speed and gaining complete control over the barrel. With a hybrid, two-piece construction, the X12 Alloy barrel and C6 Composite handle work together to create the perfect amount of flex, forgiveness, and an ultra-responsive hitting surface. The NVS Vexxum has more pop than ever as DeMarini was able to expand the sweet spot within the same barrel length - which can be the difference between getting a base knock or finding the pocket of a fielder's outstretched glove. With the Vexxum NVS, the only thing faster than the swing speeds you will generate will be how fast the ball leaves the park.

The DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVXC features a 2 5/8" barrel diameter, -3 length to weight ratio, BBCOR Certification for High School and Collegiate Play, and is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty.
