Axe made some serious strides on this bat when compared to prior models of the same bat. One of the biggest things that they did was construct the bat in a manner that would lower the swing feel and increase the size of the hitting surface. Axe reports that on this bat you will get a 50% larger sweet spot when compared to the previous edition of the Elite One BBCOR. They also have done the calculations and say that this bat delivers a swing weight score (or MOI) that is 400-500 points less than the previous edition of the bat (i.e. it is easier to swing this bat when compared to its predecessor). And lastly, they say that the bat will perform to the max allowances of the BBCOR standards. Due to all of those positive measurables on the bat, Axe felt safe in adding "PRO" to its name.
As well, this bat's Axe handle features the Power Axe Handle design. The way that the Power Axe Handle differs from the "regular" Axe Handle is that the Power model is curved on its backside where it meets the knob. The curvature on the knob allows for a more “free swing” & can unlock power potential with some harder hitters.
