The main difference is the Elite has an alloy barrel while the Avenge is a fully composite bat. It is going to be a personal preference whether you like one or the other.

All youth bats, like the 2017 AXE Elite -12 Youth Baseball Bat: L134E, will have to feature the new USABat stamp. These bats will have thicker barrel walls to reduce the exit velocity off the bats. We anticipate these new bats to be released sometime in September 2017.

We would not recommend using the 2017 AXE Elite -12 Youth Baseball Bat: L134E to hit power balls, weighted balls or other training aid balls as these can lead to decrease in durability of the bat. Would recommend using a practice bat for these types of drills.
