Description

Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010

The Select PWR is here for all the power hitters that are looking for a hybrid (alloy barrel & composite handle) bat from the oldest baseball bat manufacturer out there!

Bat Benefits

This bat will be more for the sluggers out there as it will have a slightly end loaded swing weight. If you are a hitter that is cranking baseballs to the warning track and over the outfield fence with consistency, then this is the BBCOR bat for you! If you are a younger high schooler that is a contact hitter, we would tell you to shy away. But if you are older, a contact hitter & possess quite a bit of strength; you could probably get after this Select PWR BBCOR.

All of the special technology that Louisville Slugger puts into the Select PWR only further increases its power potential. The barrel is made of the EXD Alloy that helps extend the length of the barrel by a half inch. That extra half inch helps contribute to the slight barrel heavy feel and it will lengthen the sweet spot on the bat too. In addition, the barrel and the handle will be fused together at the 3FX-PWR Connector. That connection point should allow for the transfer of energy to move from the handle to the barrel (and not the reverse) plus improve the feel of the bat when it hits a baseball. Above all, the 3FX-PWR system will create stiffness in the bat when it connects with a baseball. That stiffness (or lack of flex between the barrel and handle) is what a lot of power hitters want these days as they feel that with a stiff bat, all the energy they put into their swing goes into the baseball!

Warranty

This bat will indeed be covered with a twelve (12) month warranty extended by Louisville Slugger. If you get the bat and notice something wrong with it before 12 months have passed from the purchase date, please let the Bat Experts at JustBats know about the situation. The Bat Experts are knowledgeable about the warranty replacement process for Louisville Slugger and they will get you the information needed to begin organizing the bat replacement process!

Beware! Chad Parent

Pros: I'll start by saying Justbats.com is awesome. Great inventory, great prices and super fast shipping. My 15 year old live the feel and pop of this bat. For the two days he used it before the Barrell cracked. Two scrimmage ABs and one lesson.

Cons: Ordered the bat on May 29th. It was used in a scrimmage that Thursday and a lesson on Sunday. Huge crack in the barrel. Bottom line, a $400 baseball bat should crack when hitting baseballs. Warranty is covering a replacement. A voucher for a replacement actually. It's taken almost a month, you have to use the voucher at Louisville or Demarini (no third party authorized dealers). Email communication is slow and forget about actually talking to a person. And of course, the bat is out of stock.

Great Bat Anonymous Player

Pros: Very comfortable to swing, has a lightweight feel to it. When I was deciding to get this bat I saw a couple reviews of how their bat broke, I have had this bat for about a month and all this bat is doing is hitting bombs.

Cons: Vibration will feel different after every swing, mostly feels good but once in a while you may get jammed even if you square the ball up.

Awesome Bat! Jesse Peterson Player

Pros: I got this as my first bbcor bat and absolutely love it. The bat definitely has endload, but it comes through the zone very easily. So far, I haven’t felt a single sting from it thanks to the 2-piece construction. Along with all of this, the sound is awesome! Hits nukes and I would definitely recommend to anyone who is starting to or has been hitting with a bbcor bat.

As good or better than “The Goods” Gene Paciotti Coach

Pros: Swings fast, great pop and large sweet spot. Misses on the inside and end of the barrel still fly off the bat with some great distance. So far this bat hits further than “The Goods”. Exit velo is higher as well. Great bat so far!

Pros: Even hotter than the 33” Nice bat

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this more endloaded than the nox because the nox is pretty balanced compared to the goods. And I want to go up in size from 32 to 33” but I don’t want to be overwhelmed by the swing weights of the hybrids I tend to prefer especially in a bigger size Cooper
The Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 is expected to feel a little lighter when swinging than DeMarini The Goods BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXGIC21
Lauren
Is this bat very heavy because I would like in a 31 inch and I would be using it for 13U Lucas
The Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 is a drop 3, so it may be a little heavier if you've been using a higher drop. It is also an end-loaded bat, which will feel heavier than a balanced bat will.
Lauren
What size would you recomend for a 5,10, 14 year old who's about 150 pounds who is playin in highschool jv ball. Hk
Based on your player's height and weight, it is recommended they use a 32" bat.
Lauren
Also, what size would you recommend for an 11 year old, 4 hitter, that is decently strong? Skylar
What size to get in the Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 would come down to the player's height and weight. For an 11 year old that must use a BBCOR bat, they are likely needing a 30 or 31 inch.
Cameron
Is this a good bat for my son? He is about 5'4". I'm trying to find the best bat for him. Andre Holland
The Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 is a great bat to consider for those hitters that prefer an end-loaded BBCOR bat. The height of the player would not determine the ideal bat for them though. Most younger or smaller hitters will typically gravitate towards a more balanced bat, like the Louisville Slugger Solo BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS621B3.
Cameron
Is this just bbcore or is there a usssa version? Eloy
This Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 is the BBCOR version, unfortunately we do not carry the USSSA version.
Ryan
Can you give more information on this bats durability? I'm interested in more comparisons with the Marucci CAT9 Connect. Son plays high school and travel ball. Tom
To our knowledge, there are no issues regarding durability on the Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010. Hard to say if one would gain a durability advantage using this bat over the CAT9 Connect or visa versa.
Cameron
I’m 14, 5’10" and 120 lbs. and I’m looking at this in a 32. I previous swung the CAT 8 one-piece and it felt pretty light, do you think this bat is good for me? Shaun
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend a 31 inch BBCOR bat. The Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 is set up with a slightly end-loaded swing weight design which will make the bat feel heavier than the prior CAT8 bat. If you are comfortable with a two-piece bat that has a heavier swing weight design, then there is nothing wrong with using the Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010.
Cameron
Will there be different sizes other than the 34 inch? Jackson Ward
The only size we have left on this Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 closeout bat is 34 inches. We will not be getting more inventory of the other sizes LS made on the bat.
Cameron
I am a versatile hitter and I was wondering if this would be a good bat for me? Jackson Ward
The Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 would be a great selection. With the slight end-loaded feel, will be a comfortable swing weight for control and power.
Jake
Does this bat need to be broken in? Grant Muller
No, the Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 does not require a break-in period.
Cameron
What is the recommended weather for this bat to be used in? Also, would that mean the bat would get damaged if used in colder weather constantly? Nick
With any bat, the ideal weather conditions would be 55 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer. The Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010, with its alloy barrel, can be used in colder weather climates but any bat can certainly break down quicker when used consistently in colder weather as the ball becomes more dense.
Cameron
What's the difference between the WBL2466010 & WBL2524010? Chuck Smith
Comparing the specs of the Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2524010 and the Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010, there would not be any differences other than the colorway.
Cameron
What bat is most like the 918? My son loved that bat. Chuck Smith
The Louisville Slugger Prime 918 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP918B3 was a two-piece composite model whereas the Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 is a two-piece hybrid (alloy barrel and composite handle) which will make this bat more end-loaded in swing weight feel. The most comparable model to the 918 would be the Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2522010.
Cameron
Will I receive a 33 or 34? Elijah Duran
We only have the 34 inch model of the Louisville Slugger Select PWR BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2466010 still in stock at this time.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
