Description

Louisville Slugger RXT -8 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WBL2450010

The RXT is back for another season of bashing fastpitch softballs to warning tracks and beyond!

Bat Benefits

This drop 8 RXT will present one of the heaviest drop sizes available on the fastpitch market. Desipte being a heavier bat overall, the weight will be distributed very well across the entire length of the bat (i.e. the bat will feel balanced). And when an older player (high school or college level) gets the bat in their hands, we believe there is really good chance that they will enjoy swinging this bat.

Louisville Slugger loads up this bat with some really great technology so that it mimics qualities of two legendary Slugger fastpitch bats: the XENO & the LXT. When a batter connects with a softball they will experience a stiffness (lack of flex at the connection point on the bat) that is similar what one would feel on a XENO. Power hitters usually really enjoy a stiff bat, but contact hitters can still enjoy this feel as well. In addition to being stiff, the bat should be very comfortable to swing due to less vibration getting down to a player's hands if they don't square up the softball perfectly. That comfortable feel is very similar to what is experienced when swinging an LXT.

Get after this 2-piece, all-composite bat if you are a little older (so you can handle the drop 8 size) and enjoy the stiff feel at contact! You'll blown away that this bat can reduce vibration (even with its stiff feel) and also feel very balanced (even though it has a drop 8 length-to-weight ratio).

Warranty

This bat will indeed be covered with a twelve (12) month warranty extended by Louisville Slugger. If you get the bat and notice something wrong with it before 12 months have passed from the purchase date, please let the Bat Experts at JustBats know about the situation. The Bat Experts are knowledgeable about the warranty replacement process for Louisville Slugger and they will get you the information needed to begin organizing the bat replacement process!

Hide it from the Team Troy Player

Pros: Once worn in, great pop. Good balanced weight

Cons: Rubber 'spring things' a bit gimmicky looking but nothing that effects bats performance so far.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
