Louisville Slugger Meta -5 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2469010

As your player nears the end of their USSSA baseball journey, celebrate with a drop 5 that'll launch deep drives into spring, summer and fall skies.

Bat Benefits

This drop 5 Meta bat (with a 2 5/8" barrel diameter) from Louisville Slugger is perfect for a 14U player who is playing in USSSA tournaments or a USSSA sanctioned league. This bat is made of EKO Composite material which delivers a lightweight, huge barrel and incredible sound at contact with a baseball. All types of hitters can both enjoy this 3-piece bat (1 - barrel | 2 - handle | 3 - connector piece) as it will be easily controllable for contact hitters while also providing a stiff feel at connection for the power hitters.

Also, it is good to note that this bat will have the new USSSA stamp with the updated look that mentions the bat is "NTS Tested".

Warranty

A 100+ year old company does not get to be in existence today without knowing how to take care of their customers. Louisville Slugger most definitely covers this bat with a full twelve (12) month manufacturer’s warranty period that extends from the purchase date. If you buy the bat from JustBats and run into any warranty issues with those 12 months, do not hesitate to reach out to our Bat Experts. Best bat Eathen morales Player

Pros: That bat bat is supposed to be more contact then power, but this bat is really good it responds good on Mis hits like off the end . Easy to break in, doesn’t feel that heavy for a drop 5

Cons: One thing about the bat is that when he hit it doesn’t really scuff is looks like it chips a little not sure if it is like still breaking cause it feels hot.

Not worth it Jaden Rosales Coach

Pros: The only good thing on this bat is the pop. In my opinion this bay isn’t worth that much money

Cons: The vibration isn’t good and as Ethan Morales said it doesn’t scuff it chips. The general feel is okay and the durability isn’t that good.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Louisville Slugger Meta -5 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2469010? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is the bat suppose to chip? Eathen morales
The paint on a bat, such as the Louisville Slugger Meta -5 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2469010, can chip due to the matte finish that is used on the bat. It is certainly more common with composite bats as the composite fibers expand and loosen.
Cameron
Does this bat have more pop than the CF Zen? Kaden
Unfortunately there is no way to prove definitively that the Louisville Slugger Meta -5 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2469010 can out perform the DeMarini CF model. With that being said, early reviews of this bat have painted a very positive picture and is certainly a great bat to consider.
Cameron
What is the break in process with this model? Mike S
Even though the Louisville Slugger Meta -5 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2469010 is essentially "hot out of the wrapper" we would recommend a break-in period of 50-150 swings off the tee. soft toss or front side toss. Rotate the barrel a 1/4 turn after each swing and swing at around 60-70% of max swing effort.
Cameron
My son is a 13 year old contact hitter and I am considering this bat and the CAT 9 Connect . Would you guys have any suggestions? Gabriel Banicki
Since the player is a contact hitter, and the Marucci CAT 9 Connect features more of an end-loaded swing weight, we would recommend going with the Louisville Slugger Meta -5 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2469010 and its balanced swing weight.
Cameron
My son is a 13 year old 5'4" and 120 pound player. What drop and size would you recommend and would you recommend this bat? Gabriel Banicki
Per your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the Louisville Slugger Meta -5 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2469010 in a 31 inch. 13U levels can use -8, -5 or BBCOR bats while 14U must use either -5 or BBCOR.
Cameron
From what I have read this is a very balanced bat. My son swings a Cat 9 Connect 30/22 (-8) and really likes it. How would the Cat 9 Connect (-8) swing weight compare to a Meta (-5) of the same length? Do you think he could handle the Meta 30/25 (-5)? He is just almost 12, 4’11” and 110 lbs. Thanks Peter
This Louisville Slugger Meta -5 USSSA Baseball Bat (WBL2469010) will swing very balanced compared to the slightly end-loaded Marucci CAT9 Connect -8 USSSA Baseball Bat (MSBCC98). Bat sizing can be difficult without knowing the player but based on his height/weight I wouldn't expect him to have a problem!
Frank
Does the Louisville Meta (-5) only come in 2 5/8 barrel or is a 2 3/4 available? Dave Page
The Louisville Slugger Meta -5 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2469010 is only made with a 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Cameron

No, the Louisville Slugger Meta -5 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2469010 is not a BBCOR bat.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
