Amazing bat!!!! Gabe itch Coach

Pros: -it has a sweet spot the actual size of the barrel -connection is very stiff flex -it has really good pop after about 70-80 BREAK IN swings -hits NUKES!!

Cons: -the connector is the same as the prime and the prime connector is very delicate and not durable - too many similarities to the -10 prime Has a little bit of vibration much for a stiff flex fireflex connector

Broke after 9 days J. Mizell Parent

Pros: Great pop! Great Feel and balanced well.

Cons: This bat broke after only 9 days. We were at a tournament and my son hit a ball to 2nd base and the broke half up the handle towards the top of the grip. My son hits well but is only 8 years old so i would think its not an issue of overwhelming power from the swing. Louisville needs to find a way to keep these bats together longer.

Is your kid ready yet? Bryan Coach

Pros: The Meta -10 was made for above-avg hitters that make solid contact. The Meta provides a unique sound when the ball is squared up. Unmatched distance and feel for hitters with higher swing speeds and proper timing. This bat has one mode: FULL SEND. Can your kid/player unlock it?

Cons: This bat is not for every player. Requires a higher swing speed and around 75-100 "solid contact" break-in swings. Younger or smaller players would be better suited with a non-composite (Cat 8/9) with a more forgiving barrel

Over the fence! Colton Vasko Parent

Pros: I knew my 10 year old had it in him, but this bat sealed the deal and my kiddo was able to hit his first over the fence home run this year. I often find myself picking up my kiddos bat just to hit a few because the pop is absolutely amazing. I've always been a big fan of Louisville slugger and this bat has it all.

Cons: Nothing so far, and I don't expect any.

1st USSSA bat Eric Kies Parent

Pros: My son is 10 and plays both little league and travel ball. Last year he used a 28/18 LS Prime for both leagues, and decided this year to get a USSSA bat for the travel games. We jumped up a size to the 29/19 Meta and he says it feels very similar to the Prime despite being longer and weighing slightly more. I can't speak to durability since we just got it, but his Prime held up well over the course of a very long season. The ball seems to come off the bat well, but I haven't measured exit velo comparing the two. Overall he loves it and is looking forward to using it in games next spring.

Cons: Only con so far is the cost

Full tournament and LL season review Brian Coach

Pros: MY son(age 10) is very happy with this bat. The pop is insane. son says it is a bit heavier than the Demarini CF but does not bother him as he feels its better built. Grip is really nice. We properly prepared before using in games. We also would not use this bat with batting machine balls. Last practice he hit a few that we physically measured 240+. Other players have the newer META, does not seem like the same quality.

Cons: SLIGHTLY heavier than Demarini CF

Very happy Brian Coach

Pros: This bat has been used for a season of 11 game rec league, 5 game fall ball and 7 travel tournaments along with continued use right now for indoor training. There is a TON of hits on this beast. We wanted something close to the CF without the durability issues. It is slightly heavier than the CF. Son had his best season for power along with consistency throughout the barrel. I did do a proper break in of about 200 hit walkthrough. Held up well at lower temperatures and did not use below 60 degrees. This summer he hit two measured shots of 250 feet at 11 years old. I plan on buying him another soon due to his heavy use. Thank you to Just bats, they were excellent and had no issues. We love the knob graphics you can add.

Cons: We have not seen any after one season.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Which bat will be more balanced the -10 Meta or the -10 Demarini CF? Luis
Both the Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010 and DeMarini CF -10 will be very balanced bats. I would say the Meta will probably be just slightly more balanced.
Tori
Which bat would you prefer (drop -10), the Louisville Slugger Meta -10 or Demarini CF -10? Russell Conley
Both the Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010 and the DeMarini CF -10 are well balanced high performing bats. Personally, I think the Meta will be a slightly better choice as it will have a longer barrel and a slightly larger sweet spot.
Tori
At what temperatures can this bat be used? Jason
The industry recommendation is 60 degrees Fahrenheit and above.
Lauren
Is this bat hotter or does it have more pop than the DeMarini CF Zen? Anderson
The Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010 is a great option for those seeking a two-piece composite bat within the USSSA format. Whether or not it has more "pop" than the DeMarini CF is hard to say.
Cameron
Will the vibration from this bat be much less than the LS Prime One -12? My 9 year old son has some problems with vibration on the LS Prime One -12. Will
The Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010 is a two-piece composite and could potentially provide more relief for negative vibrations than a one-piece composite.
Lauren
I just bought this bat and after one game we saw the little cracks on it. He really like the bat but crack is worrying him if it’s going to break. Mubeshar
Composite bats, like the Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010, can develop hairline cracks that are commonly referred to as "spider-web" cracks. These will not impact the performance or durability of the bat. If the composite barrel has split, then your bat would not be allowed for game play.
Cameron
Can this bat in 27/17 be used in 9u kid pitch? Ryan Edmonds
Yes, but it depends on the approval stamp required by the league. This is a USSSA bat, but you may be required to use a USA approved bat.
Ryan
I have a five year old who plays on a 7U All-Star team. He's great hitting for contact but only weighs 45 lbs., not a lot of power yet. Would you recommend this bat or maybe the CAT 9 to help him get some pop on his hits? Marcus
The Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010 is a great bat for kid pitch leagues. For a 5 year old, the bat is likely going to be too big as the smallest size is 27 inches and 17 ounces. As the player gets older, the power will develop in time with the physical maturation process.
Cameron
What is the recommended break in? John Tiberi
To break in the Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010, we recommend about 50 swings either off of a tee or by soft toss with a rotation of the barrel after each swing.
Cameron
Is this better then the cat 9? Paul
The Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010 Is a Three-Piece, All-Composite Baseball Bat while the cat 9 is a One-Piece, All-Alloy Baseball Bat. Both are great bats.
Keegan
This bat have the USA stamp? Roni Dominguez
The Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010 is not USA approved.
Cameron
I’m going to invest $350+ in a bat. Is this going to easily break like a DeMarini or will it last like a CAT9?Just need an honest answer. Andrew Coleman
With regards to the durability of the Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010, we have not heard of any glaring issues. With that being said, a composite barrel bat will typically break sooner compared to a bat with an alloy barrel.
Cameron
Can you use this bat for middle school? Freddy garcia
The Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010 is most likely not going to be approved for middle school play. Would recommend checking with your league first though.
Cameron
My son is 11 yrs old. Which Meta is recommended for him? I see u guys have -5/-8/-10. Max perez
For players that are 12U or lower, a hitter is most likely going to be using the -10 Meta, which is the Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010. At 13U, players will swing the -8 and -5 models and at 14U all USSSA players would be using a -5 or BBCOR option.
Cameron
Will this bat last for 6-7 months? Colyn Mcclogflyn
Unfortunately, it would be hard to know how long the Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010 may last a hitter before needing to set up a warranty claim.
Cameron
How can you prevent this bat from chipping? Simore Buts
Unfortunately, there is no way to prevent a bat, like the Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2467010, from experiencing paint chipping over time.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
