DeMarini Prism+ -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXPZS21

Get this light-swinging Prism+ and get ready to start smacking softballs all over the fastpitch field!

Bat Benefits

DeMarini builds this two-piece bat with the lightweight drop 11 sizing on it. This bat has the opportunity to work really well for a young and developing softball star who wants to make the jump to a high quality fastpitch bat at a little younger age. Also, it could be used by a little older player who needs something a little lighter at the plate to catch up to the speed of the pitches being thrown. And also, don't forget about the slap hitters out there. Some of them want a really balanced and easy-to-swing bat so that they have max control of the barrel as they move and swing simultaneously.

With so many different types of players that could potentially use the bat, DeMarini knows that the bat needs to be outfitted with tip top material. They build the barrel with a Continuous Fiber Material that strategically adds weight in certain sections of the barrel to increase the power potential of the player. However, with the strategic adding of weight they don't go overboard and make the bat end loaded. This bat will be super balanced! And to assist the Continuous Fiber Material, DeMarini has the Gapped Barrel Tech on this bat that ensures an inner and outer barrel are working in unison to provide a little extra spring at contact with a softball.

All in all, if your player needs something a little lighter-in-weight, but extremely-high-in-quality...reach for this drop 11 Prism+!

Warranty

For DeMarini, it is important to keep their customers happy. Because of that, they extend a twelve (12) month warranty on this bat. If you buy this bat from JustBats and notice a structural issue or a drop in performance within one (1) year from the purchase date, please reach out to the Bat Experts from JustBats. The Bat Experts know the warranty process for DeMarini and will get you organized so that you can contact DeMarini and complete a successful warranty replacement.

Pros: This bat is ready to go fairly quickly right out the wrapper. Great balance and pop. Bought this for my 10 year old and she hasn't pick up her Easton Ghost bat since!

Great Bat a lot of POP Mark Parent

Pros: My daughter is 9 she is on the small side. Not as strong as the other girls. This bat has been a really good choice for her. She can get it around fast a lot of pop. She was using the Easton Ghost Advance but she couldn’t quite get it around like we would have wanted her to. Don’t get me wrong the Ghost is a great bat but this baby is not to far off.

Its The All-Star Builder Daddy Dizzle Coach

Pros: Right out of the box this science experiment was the surprise winner of the Miss America Beauty pageant. We knew right away looks isn’t all this bat had. After swing a drop 13 for the past 6 months going with this drop 11 was a little nerve racking. My 10U rockstar feels like the bat swings lighter with a touch of weight on the end. She went from driving solid shots with her old bat to the outer edge of the infield to..... laser beams to the outer edge of the universe. We heard that the Guardians of the Galaxy have been called in to recover some of the lost balls. You like I’m joking.... I’m not. All seriousness the bat has great pop but the sweet spot might be a little narrow. Referring to that beautiful cracking sound we all love so much.

Cons: You’ll need a second mortgage on the RV to buy it. The hand grip should be upgraded to lizard skin.

Frustrated. Taylor Vandiver Parent

Pros: Doesn’t take long to break in like the CF does.. has bigger sweet spot than CF.. but broke in 1mo.. still prefer the CF, better pop on the CF when you do connect in the smaller sweet spot..

Cons: It broke about 6 weeks after purchase… not as good of a pop as the CF even though the sweet spot is much larger—the benefit of the sweet spot is much smaller.

Great Bat!! EB Parent

Pros: This has been a starter bat for my 10yr old who's playing her first year on a travel ball team. WE. LOVE. THIS. BAT. This is, so far, the only bat style that hasn't had to be replaced or cracked on our team. Most have Easton Ghosts that are currently cracked, and one just got a brand new Meta for Christmas - first swing at practice, CRACKED! That is absurd for a $400-$500 bat. Now you gotta work for the pop on this prism. There is a pretty small sweet spot, but when you hit it - to the fence it goes! Mine has already hit a homer. I am currently looking for a secondary bat for my daughter and can't find one with the durability ratings DeMarini has. Might need to just go with the CF at this point.

Cons: Small sweet spot.

Likes a vibration absorber a lot on this bat. Parent

Pros: My daughter really likes the shock/vibration absorber on the bat, was using a DeMarini model without it and went back to this Prisim model because of the shock/vibration absorber. This bat also has a lot of pop. Worth everybit of 300.00 versus 450 for some bats

My daughter is 4’8” and 80 lbs. We bought her a LS Nexus 29, -12 this past Christmas but she needs a longer bat. According to your sizing chart she needs a 30”. We like the Prism, but she is still growing and the chart says when she hits 4’9” she would need a 31”. Would it be a good idea to just get the 31” so we don’t need to buy another bat before the end of the season if she hits a growth spurt or would you recommend sticking with a 30”? Jason
Whether or not to get the DeMarini Prism+ -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXPZS21 in a 30 or 31 inch size would really boil down to how well she handled the weight of her current bat. You might check with her coaches as well to get their input on proper sizing.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
