Louisville Slugger Solo -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBSB1120

Building excellent technique at the plate takes time, and this bat is the perfect tool for the job. This Louisville Slugger Solo -11 USA bat is the lightest offering in brand's newest lineup and features an ultra-balanced design that's perfect for youth hitters that are still growing. Available from 28 to 32 inches in length, this bat starts at just 18 ounces. It offers a sharp grey, charcoal and neon green colorway that is as fun to look at as it is to swing. With a durable, single-piece construction this Slugger is ready to help your youngster develop and stand up to years of abuse.

Bat Benefits

Louisville crafts this Solo -11 USA bat with premium SL Hyper ultralight alloy with a thinner wall design than other bats in the lineup. This contributes the bat's superb balance and also creates maximum pop on contact. The single-piece design makes this bat not only tough but also super fast throughout the swing, even for small batters. Control is key for youth hitters and this bat offers it in spades thanks to the Speed Ballistic Composite (SBC) cap.

The 2.63" barrel is also specially balanced with the alloy handle for ideal swing weight. Louisville finishes the handle with a premium LS Pro Comfort grip for a reduced shock on contact and a tactile grip that keeps this bat moving with confidence. Approved for use in AABC, Pony, Cal Ripken, Little League, Dixie Youth, and Babe Ruth, this bat offers youth hitters plenty of room to grow.

Warranty

Louisville Slugger stands behind this bat with an impressive one-year warranty against manufacturing defects. They even offer one repair or replacement in the event of common on-field damage including severe dents, structural cracks and broken end caps or knobs.

new 2020 bat Derrick S. Player

Pros: If I could give this bat a 6 star pop I would. It has great power and it is easy to swing for a USA bat.

Cons: Stung my hands just a little, but I also am going to replace the standard grip.

Great bat! Hits the ball really hard! Lee Rodriguez Player

Pros: This bat has great pop and is super light. When you hit it in the inside of the bat I feel no vibration at all! When you hit the ball it does not feel like anything!

Cons: When you hit the ball at the end of the bat it stings badly. If you are off balanced when you swing then it will not hit the ball far at all.

How does the Solo -11 (USA), compare with the new Louisville USA Omaha bat? what are the differences and which is better? Jason Tate
The Louisville Slugger Solo -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBSB1120 and the current Omaha are similar in that they are both one-piece alloy bats. However, the Solo has a lighter swing weight and an anti-vibration handle.
Tori
How does the Louisville Slugger Solo -11 USA Bat compare to the Louisville Prime -10 USA Bat? Carlos
The Louisville Slugger Solo -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBSB1120 is a one-piece alloy bat, so it will have a little bit of a stiffer feel. The Prime is a two-piece fully composite bat that will feature a little bit more flex in the swing. Both will be balanced bats.

I am looking for a USA bat for my son's Little League season this year (fingers crossed we have one). He is small (height and weight) and swings a lighter bat for contact. Not a power hitter. His travel ball bat is a 28-10 Dirty South and he swings that well. Still can't get it to the outfield grass but makes solid contact. What do you recommend for him? Looking at this bat but want to make sure it works well for the little guy with good hand eye coordination, can hit most pitched balls, but needs as much help from the bat he can get. Not sure your thoughts on the Dirty South USA made bats. Robyn Gordon
When checking on USA bats, one will find that there is not much performance separation from one model to the next. Most USA bats that feature a composite barrel will offer a more balanced overall swing weight compared to something with an alloy barrel, like the Louisville Slugger Solo -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS6B1120. This more balanced design should help a player that is more of a "contact" type hitter.
Cameron
What is the BPF of this bat? We moved leagues and can now use bats with a 1.15 BPF. Previously, it was all "Baseball USA" bats, but now we want to find a bat that is a good fit but also lively for a small hitter. Justin Gibert
USA bats, like the Louisville Slugger Solo -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS6B1120, do not feature a BPF rating; this is only associated with USSSA stamped bats. LS does make the Solo in a USSSA format though (Louisville Slugger Solo -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WTLSLS6X1020).
Cameron

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
