Pros: Got the bat for my son and didn’t live up to the hype. Exit velo was less than his current Rawlings velo by 2-5 mph consistently. Feels lighter than Velo with less overall pop. Many better choices out there.

Cons: No pop- exit wasn’t as good as Marucci or Velo Lightweight Some vibration towards the end

Pros: Lightweight - 13 yo son said he can’t even feel the ball coming off the bat (once it was broken in) Big barrel - they all want a big barrel Balanced - bat doesn’t feel end heavy Pop - as expected, great bat. Our 13 yo loves this bat. After first practice with it another teammate ordered it. Dads are on the sidelines talking about how much they like it. We tell them the price from JUSTBATS and they’re amazed. Thank you for a great sale on an amazing bat.

Cons: If you like an in-loaded bat this isn’t your bat (I just got a bigger size and it helped with that) No other cons. In love with this bat.

Pros: We've only had this bat for approximately 3 weeks but so far it has been great. Bat is more balanced than a lot of other -5s, has good pop when my son barrels one up, is forgiving to the hands when he doesn't, and has held up well in the short time he's used it. He has used many different bats over the years with the exception of Marucci and LS and seems to love it. Walks to the plate very confident with this bat in his hands.

Cons: None so far. Will update if anything changes

Pros: The ball jumps of the bat. I coach travel ball and have been Combat loyal since the B2. The balance of the Combat ATB is better then the Maxim, which was amazing. No end load, no lag on the swing. First night on the field during BP my 13u hit the parking lot on 300’ field

First composite EMB Parent

Pros: Bought for my 12 year old son. He was coming from a Marucci Cat 8 drop 8. This bat has more pop and significant less vibration. However, nothing is perfect when you have less vibration you have less feel on contact so it will be harder for him to identify miss hits. He now uses the drop 5 Combat in games for average to slower pitching and the drop 8 when the pitcher is bringing it.

Cons: Very happy with the bat as we are with the Marucci Cat 8. It is really just a matter of preference. Both great bats. Both balanced. Marucci has a better feel at contact but Combat has more pop and less vibration.

Pros: Great feel and pop while it’s broken...

Cons: I’ve purchased many bats I’ve type years from my son, never have I witnessed such bad construction. After 5 months the end cap busted. Furthermore, even though Easton owns Combat, they do not warranty the bat - the Combat model numbers are NOT on the drop down list of bats to return for defect. I’m currently waiting on Justbats to call me back to let me know how they will assist. Overall, disappointed!

Cons: Literally broke in half. Had 6 weeks, always stored in house. Got it for him for Christmas, made it through 4 weeks of practice and broke at the handle. Rotated every swing, never swung cold. Idk what we could’ve done differently.

Pros: My son is almost 14 and has hit with Combat bats since 2014. They have always had a stiff feel typical of one piece bats while combining the smooth feel on contact of a two piece and this bat is no different. This bat has a massive sweet spot and pop that is close to the CFZen and Cat 8-9 bats. As for durability he has been hitting with this bat in BP all winter and has a few games with it this spring with no problems. He’s never had any durability issues with Combat bats.

Cons: Could be a little more endloaded for a drop 5.

Long term review 32” -5 B2 Liz Parent

Pros: I wanted to wait to review this bat until my son had several seasons with it. He is about to turn 14 and has swung Combats since he was 7. I have never had any durability problems with them and this bat is no different. It has great pop that is only slightly less than the CF but a lighter swing. The sweet spot on the B2 is huge from the taper to about an inch from the end. He just finished 14u all stars in CenTex and was the only kid to hit a ball over the fence out of 9 teams. This bat makes the most out of poorly hit balls often getting a single on miss hits that should have been an outs.

Cons: It’s a balanced bat so it could use a tad more weight in the barrel since it’s a drop 5.

They are fairly similar bats, but the Combat B2 is going to be balanced, while the Maxum features a slight end load.

Although the COMBAT B2 ATB -5 USSSA Baseball Bat: SL20B25 is hot out of the wrapper, we would recommend a break in period of 50-150 swings off the tee, soft toss, front side toss, etc at about 60-70% of max swing effort. Best to rotate the barrel a 1/4 turn after rounds of 5-10 swings.
