Description

Achieve a higher swing velocity and more power with this Rawlings baseball bat. The Quatro baseball bat made such an impact during its debut season that Rawlings has decided to bring it back with new and improved features. The Quatro Pro BBCOR baseball bat is made from a re-engineered flexible composite material, this allows for more pop off the bat and extended ball flight on contact. This big barrel bat is engineered for a balanced feel, greater performance, and reduced weight, so less effort is required through the swing zone. Designed for the middle-of-the-order hitter, the Quatro Pro BBCOR bat has a new Focused Flex system that eliminates barrel drag to help hitters stay through the ball, and it reduces the amount of vibration upon impact. Rawlings: Finest In The Field.

This Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB9Q3) features a standard 2 5/8-inch barrel diameter, a drop 3 length to weight ratio, and the BBCOR certification sticker across the taper for high school and collegiate approval. Power through each swing with this Quatro Pro BBCOR bat and you'll see hits that travel farther, faster. The Longitudinal Flex feature means more composite layering on the inside of the bat to produce a trampoline effect across the barrel for a greater push. This is coupled with the Suspended Inner Barrel that provides a balanced swing weight to help players increase their bat speed. A silicone-infused collar feels smooth to the touch and is easy to grip for maximum control. Add this bat to your bat bag today and enjoy free shipping and a full 12-month manufacturer's warranty. Rawlings Quatro pro BBcor Nick Parent

Pros: This Bat is mint tons of pop . swings easy and very balanced . my son is 14 and not a really big kid and he been hitting the ball 300 feet. The only thing he don't like on this bat is the grip I have already replaced it for him with a lizard skin

Cons: Grip is not very good

Simply no pop, nothing like last years model Brandon Player

Pros: no sting

Cons: I play Division 1 college baseball and this bat is nothing like the year before's model. 2018 quatro is beautiful, only problem with it was that it would break after a max amount of swings. This year it was obvious they tried to compensate for the amount of broken bats, doing so it was very clear they sacrificed the bats pop and overall quality. If possible, get the 2018 model. If not, get a voodoo or velo.

Terrible Bat Todd Parent

Pros: Great bat while it last.

Cons: I have purchased 2 of these bats new, one of them literally lasted 2 days of inside hitting and the other lasted a month or so. Both bats come apart at the handle. It is unfortunate because it is an great bat but there is no way it will last more than a few weeks. I have always purchased Rawlings bats and now have 9 total that are all broken--enough is enough!

Awesome so far Brian Baca Coach

Pros: tremendous pop, huge sweet spot, forgiving with ball hit in on hands.

Cons: None yet. We had the 2018 drop 3 Quattro, only last part of a season and one summer a total of 5 months. Sent it back to Rawlings, who replaced it with this 2019 model. So far it is performing as good and maybe better than 2018 model. ps; Rawlings was great to deal with on the return, no hassle. Although, unlike Easton who have always just sent you a new one with just the receipt. Rawlings did not send the new one until they received the broken one first.

Surprised Jeff Fels Parent

Pros: Kids first foray into BBCOR. We have swung a few including a 618 Solo which gets good reviews but was like hitting a wet shoebox compare to the USSSA bats he uses in travel. I was surprised at how hard he was able to hit the ball (he's 12). Really good pop....not -5 pop but I was pleasantly surprised. Balanced so he was able to get it around. The feel of the barrel is fantastic and my son loves the sound. Bottom line is we have had every CF whatever, Mako, XL etc.etc. to come down the pike and my son was enjoying swinging this every bit as much as his missile launchers.

Cons: ....well there is that one thing...about 70 or so swings in the bat developed a rattle at the connection piece. I will be sending it back and I'm hoping Rawlings is cool on the customer service. For the price of the bat I'm hoping to at least make it through a season...not one inspired BP.

Great Bat/It's a Beast Dom Parent

Pros: Balanced, easy to swing, great pop and did I mention great pop. This bat has lived up to every expectation a parent could have after dropping $450 on a bat. Son has played 25 games and who knows how many practices. Also, 3 separate hitting sessions in a cage per week. This bat is a beast. No issues. Thanks Rawlings and thanks JustBats.

Disappointed Sara O'neal Parent

Pros: Son hits great with the bat and loves how it feels.

Cons: He only had it for a week and it cracked while hitting. Rawlings was great and sent him a new 1. He babied it and would only use it when the temperature was over 50. He only got to use it a few times and it cracked again. He is 12 years old and used his own money from mowing yards to buy the bat.

Very pleased T. D. Parent

Pros: My son plays 150 games every season. He wanted this bat but I was hesitant due to it's price and there isn't anything wrong with the host of bats that he currently has. Three weeks have passed and it's the only bat he now uses and I noticed this past week, two of his teammates stepped to the plate with his bat. Apparently, it is a well liked product!

Cons: Price...but it was on sale when I bought it.

Great Bat. Buts Breaks Every Three Months Ken Parent

Pros: Bat has very good pop. Well balanced. Bat performs great until it breaks. Great warranty response on the first bat replaced.

Cons: First Bat busted in two months. Replacement bat busted in two months. Very expensive bat to only last two months each time. The bat lasted 22 games. Which roughly calculated to $5 per at bat. This is in the South Georgia heat. Definitely would not last in colder weather. Better more reliable options available. Warranty from Rawlings was rude when I asked if they could discount the purchase of a replacement bat.

Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR 2019 David Player

Pros: Good Look.

Cons: I play travel baseball at a high level and this bat is nothing like bats I have used in the past! This bat was advertised/rated to have maximum "pop" (or a "trampoline effect") as compared to other bats on the market. However, these ratings couldn't be farther fron the truth. This bat hits with a dull thud and the baseball doesn't travel nearly at the EV or distance compared to other bats I have used (i.e. the 2018 version or the Velo). They obviously did something in the manufacturing process that sacrificed the bats pop and overall quality. I would recommend the VELO Hybrid instead....must cheaper, greater pop, and more durable.

Quality Bat for Short Term Andrew Moberly Player

Pros: The Quatro has an insane amount of pop. The ball seems to fly off of the bat. There is pretty much no vibration, even if you hit it on the endcap or handle. The bat is very balanced with it's weight and has a very large sweet spot. Perfect for pretty much any hitter. One of the most explosive bats on the market and provides you with a constant felling of quality.

Cons: Durability is a problem within the Quatro series. Although I love my Quatro and it has served me well it has lost most of it's pop within less than a year of using it. They are notorious of breaking, however they do come with warranties (most of them) so take that how you wish. For a long term bat, this may not be the best choice but for the short term it might one of the best bats on the market.

Too Fragile Shooter Player

Pros: Great feel, love the balance, great sweat spot.

Cons: I am on my 3rd one of these in less than a year! First one, the 2 pieces in the middle separated. Second one, arrived broken -- dead, I figured it had to be broken in until someone told me it just did not sound right. Now the most recent one (4 months of hitting) the pin that keeps the knob in the handle keeps backing out -- it is truly like having a sharp nail in your palm.

Top of the Pop for BBCOR Paul Parent

Pros: We read that this 2019 bat ranked 2nd behind the Meta for performance and we bought it on a discount off Amazon. My son (14U) had 2-3 lessons with the bat at Rebellion Baseball in Durham and in his first BBCOR tournament, he hit one out at 300 feet. He loves this bat! Disclaimer for new BBCOR parents: BBCOR drop 3 standards are less forgiving than drop 5 and drop 10 bats so don’t expect your player to perform if they aren’t practicing and getting used to the BBCOR standard.

Cons: None. Quality bat. Good Neon Green Stripes too!

Pros: Very light-swinging and balanced.

Cons: We got this bat in July and it is now halfway through October and I am mailing it in because the barrel separated from the handle inside. My son says the barrel feels like it is sliding up when he swings. While boxing it up, I happened to measure the bat and found it is also a 1/2” short.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is the barrel made of? Also looking to get some feedback, from what I understand Rawlings bats have a reputation of breaking is there any truth to that? Frank
The Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 barrel will be made out of composite material. I would imagine the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 model will have better durability than previous models.
Max
I'm 5'5" and 130 lbs, 13 years old. What size do you recommend? pops
Per your height and weight, we would recommend getting the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 in a 30 inch model.
Cameron
I'm 13 years old, 5'8" and 143 pounds. What size would you recommend for me? Nolan Kayton
Based on your height and weight, I would recommend the 32"/29 oz size of the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB9Q3).
Taylor
I'm 5’5, 140 pounds which model do you think is best for me? This past year I swung a 32/27 Easton MAKO that broke, and I'm required to get a drop -3. JT
With your size specifications, I would suggest staying with the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 in a 32 inch. With the added two ounces of weight, you will already be making an adjustment. You can go up to a 33 inch, this would be a size to leave you with a little growing room.
Daveron
Is the pop the same in all the versions of this bat? Bobby
With the BBCOR certification it will make all BBCOR have similar performance, because of this yes this Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 will have the same performance.
Max
In the video from JustBats.com, you say a 1 year manufacture warranty. In the item description it says JustBats 30 day performance guarantee. What is the warranty situation with this bat? Craig
This Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB9Q3) has a 30 day trial period from JustBats. If you do not like the bat or it breaks down within 30 days from the purchase, it can be returned to JustBats for a refund or exchange. If the bat breaks down after 30 days, it has a 12 month warranty from the original purchase date through Rawlings. The bat can be sent back within that 12 month period from the original purchase date for a replacement of the same bat. (The 12 month warranty with Rawlings does not allow dis-satisfied customers to return the bat to them for a refund or replacement. The bat must be defective to be returned under the 12 month warranty with Rawlings).
Ben
What wood bat turn model would this be most similar to? Phillip
The Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 is balanced and would be most similar to a 110 turn model.
Tori
I’m 5’8” 148 pounds but I have an extremely quick swing and have an exit velocity of 96 mph. I normally swing a 32/29 so should I move up to a 33/30 when getting this bat? Chance Lowery
Given your specifications, I would still suggest a 32" version of the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3. It sounds like you are already receiving quality performance off the bat, so I would not risk that by moving up in size when your dimensions do not require it.
Tyler
I’m 5’7" tall and weigh 140 pounds. I've been swinging a Rawlings VELO BBCOR bat in a 33"/30 oz size. It's a great bat but I want to upgrade to a new bat. What bat do you recommend for me? Juan Carlos Sanchez
Some options that you could look at would be the Marucci Cat 7 or Cat 8 BBCOR, the DeMarini CF Zen or Voodoo BBCOR, the Easton Project 3 ADV, the Louisville Slugger Meta Prime or Select, as well as this Rawlings Quatro Pro. All seem to be very good quality models.
Kyle J.
When will the 33 inch model come back in stock? Logan
Since the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 is on closeout we will not be receiving any more 33 inch models from Rawlings. They will be releasing 2020 models sometime in the near future.
Cameron
Why did y'all discontinue carrying this bat? Bryce Nance
Since Rawlings is prepping for the release of the 2020 edition of this Quatro, they stopped making this Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB9Q3). Once we sold out of our inventory of this bat, we were not able to replenish the inventory. Because of that, we had to mark the bat as "discontinued".
Ben
Is it bad if the bat has a movement in the barrel? Brennen Watson
There should not be much movement at the connection point on the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3. As for inside the barrel, if you are hearing a rattling sound then this would be the result of loose resin and it will not impact performance or durability.
Cameron
Is the bat end loaded or balanced? Kade Kelly
The Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 will be a balanced, four-piece composite BBCOR baseball bat.
Max
Will this bat be available long term? I'm looking to buy this a little later but since it's a year old I'm wondering if it'll still be available. Chase L.
It would depend on how long you are deciding to wait, but the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 will be available in the foreseeable future.
Max
Is the 30 day performance guarantee mean that you can test that bat for 30 days and see if you like it or not? Tyson
The 30 Day Performance Guarantee is a trial period for the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3. The bat may be used and if the player is not satisfied it can be sent back for a return or exchange within 30 days from date of purchase.
Daveron
When the rubber piece at mid-barrel separates from the composite is the bat broken/defective? keith
When the connection piece begins to separate on a two-piece bat, like the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3, one will not get the same vibration control and there is a greater chance the bat begins to wobble during the swing or experience additional flex on contact. One will want to keep an eye on this as the likelihood of the bat becoming defective will increase significantly.
Cameron
Why does the bat break so frequently? Mike
Unfortunately we would not know what would cause the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 to break or break frequently. Any bat is susceptible to break, regardless of whether the barrel is composite or alloy. The cracking of a composite bat, like the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3, can be impacted by colder weather, yellow dimple baseballs and where the ball is making contact on the barrel.
Cameron
Does the bat sound like a Cat 7? Dorthy
This Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB9Q3) will feature a "pop" or "crack" noise when contacting a baseball. It will not create a shrill "ping" noise at contact with a baseball like the Cat 7.
Ben
I live in a cold area that is frequently 60s, what are some ways I can practice in the cold with this bat? Meemaw
The Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 will be good to practice consistently in as long as the temperature does not drop below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
Max
Can I take consistent bp with this bat (using baseballs not yellow dimples)? John
Yes, you can take BP with this bat. Do try and rotate the bat slightly over time so you don't wear out one side over and over. Doing so will help the bat last longer.
Kyle
Will it go on sale even more this Black Friday and holiday season? Amy
Unfortunately would not know if the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 will be a bat featured in any upcoming sales coinciding with the holiday season. Would recommend checking back closer to Thanksgiving to see if anything has been posted on the website.
Cameron
I am 5’9 165 lbs. What length do you suggest purchasing? Chris
We would suggest swinging a 32" Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3.
Jack
Is it balanced or enloaded? Tyler Hernandez
This is considered a balanced model.
Kyle
Is this bat supposed to move at the connection piece when batting? I just bought this bat for my son for Christmas. Tammi House
The Rawlings Quatro is designed to have a very small amount of play or movement around the connection point to help with bat flex and vibration dampening.
Kyle
When I hit off the end it feels like something is sliding out and hitting the end cap and sliding back. Maybe every 3rd or 4th swing, I notice this. Should I send it in for a warranty check? It still seems like it has pop, except when what I describe happens. Ben Campbell
If you are noticing any performance issues, then I would suggest filing your warranty claim with Rawlings by visiting their website and clicking the "Warranty" link at the bottom of their page.
Kyle
Will anyone take this bat back if it breaks even after the 2020 came out? Ian
The Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 will have a full 12 month manufacturers warranty.
Jack
Do you have a year warranty on bat if it cracks? Susan
Yes, the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 has a 12-month manufacturer's warranty.
Tori
Does it still have the 1 year warranty? Ruben Ortiz
All new options of the Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3, even though an older model, will still feature a 12 month warranty through Rawlings if it were to become defective.
Cameron
Is there a way I can see the used size 32 before I buy? Andru Ontiveros
Unfortunately we do not have any pictures on the used Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3.
Cameron
What is the swing weight of the 32-29? Jeremy meadows
The Rawlings Quatro Pro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB9Q3 is a balanced bat. The 29 oz option will most likely way about .5 oz heavier than the listed weight due to the end cap.

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.

The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.

In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.

In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.

The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.

Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
