Pros: really good
Cons: stings little
2019 Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8
Has a good feel
Bat has the distinctive Marucci sound Large sweet spot Well balanced
Pros: really good
Cons: stings little
Pros: very big sweet spot and tons of pop. zero vibration.
Pros: My son, 15, was a huge Cat6 fan but went away from when they made changes in the Cat7. When the Cat8 came out he demoed it and the smile on his face said it all. Great balance and tons of pop. I do a ton of research on bats and he has tried everything from the Velo to the Mako Beast, to the 918. This bat is the best on the market.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
Pros: More balanced than the Cat7 with more pop. Quick through the zone with great control and tons of pop. The Cat8 will be the best Marucci as put out. We are very picky about bats and don't care about looks, only performance. This bat has it all. Don't get caught up in price, this is the best bat in our tests in our families batting cage, including the Velo, Mako and 918. All great bats, but the Cat8 performed the best.
Pros: I just recently started using it and I have hit balls longer that I have ever hit before. SO MUCH POP
Cons: It has a few dings and scratches all ready.
Pros: tge grip is better and si is the pop
Pros: Bat has the distinctive Marucci sound Large sweet spot Well balanced
Cons: Has a matte finish, unlike the previous Cat 7's glossy finish. This finish/paint is not as durable. This new bat already has a scratch down to the metal through the paint. Owned a Cat 7 for more than a year and it doesn't have any scratches down to the metal even though it's been used for thousands of cuts.
Pros: Has a good feel. Ball comes off the bat well
Cons: Since I have got the bat I have had no cons with it.
Got a question about the 2019 Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 ? Ask our team of experts, and they will respond within 24 hours.Ask A Question OR
Is an aluminum or composite bat better for my son who is 5’5 115lbs? What are the pros or cons?
Traditionally speaking, aluminum provides a stiffer, yet higher conduction of vibrations, upon contact. This has favored power hitters. Composite flexes more on contact and dampens the vibrations, for a more comfortable bat. This model, the 2019 Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 is a one piece aluminum bat that will provide high levels of power on contact and uniquely offers a vibration dampening knob for a very comfortable feel at the plate. I would recommend this model for any size or type of hitter.
I was about to order this bat for my son and noticed the response to a previous question was that the bat is not USSSA approved. Is the bat a qualified BBCOR bat that can be used in 14u USSSA tournaments?

Is this an end loaded bat? Or is the Connect the end loaded one? What size for a 5’6", 115 lb player, 14u?
The 2019 Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 is a one-piece all alloy model featuring a balanced swing weight while the 2019 Marucci CAT 8 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC8 is a hybrid design (alloy barrel and composite handle) with an end-loaded swing weight. As for size to get, based on the player's height, weight and age we would recommend a 30 inch model.
Which bat is better for BBCOR, is it the Cat 8 or the Cat 8 Connect?
Both bats are great BBCOR options. The 2019 Marucci CAT 8 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC8 is a two-piece hybrid with an end-loaded feel. This is a good option for a player that needs a little flex in their bat. In contrast, the 2019 Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 is a one piece alloy with a balanced swing weight.
