Best Hybrid Bat Arlon Player

Pros: Great pop out of the wrapper, nice stiff feel at contact, really an awesome bat for anyone wanting a hybrid. The swing weight isn't as end loaded as some might think. Very comparable to the 919 prime but with more pop. The finish looks great as well, you won't be disappointed.

Cons: None, but the sweet spot is not as large as the one on the 918 or 919 but not too small either, just something to think about if you want a bat with a massive sweet spot.

First AB is a HR Frederick Parent

Pros: First at bat with the 2019 LS Select Hybrid is a homerun. Good pop and feel, vibrations are mild if any. Only had about a month, can’t really say much about durability.

Cons: Price, price, and price. Hard to purchase with a small budget. The bats in general are becoming unattainable. Absolutely ridiculous.

What are the differences other than color between the 719 and the 718?
Joey
The Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS719B3 offers an improved connection point, VCX Technology, which creates independent movement between the handle and the barrel for a unique feel for each player. The Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS719B3 also features an updated end cap to increase swing speed and control, as well as a new Pro Comfort Grip.
Logan
How does this bat compare to the select 718? Also is the end load for this bat close to the end load on the cat 8 connect?
Daniel M
The Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS719B3 is almost identical to the 718, it just has updated technology and end cap for increased control and swing speed. The 719 is slightly more end loaded than the CAT 8 Connect.
Tori
Does the 719 have a ring inside the barrel to make it meet BBCOR standards?
Suhad
Yes, the Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS719B3 meets BBCOR standards.
Alex
How does the end load for this bat compare to the Cat 7 Connect?
William
The Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (WTLBBS719B3) is slightly end loaded while the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: (MCBCC7) is power balanced. The power balanced swing weight of the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: (MCBCC7) will not be as end loaded.
Dani B
How does this compare to the Demarini Voodoo Insane?
Mike
The Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS719B3 will have a slight end loaded feel. The Voodoo Insane has a heavier end loaded feel and is more designed for true power hitters.
Tori
What has a larger barrel this of the Voodoo Insane?
Michael
The Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat and the DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat both have a 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Dani
If we were looking for a bat like the Voodoo would this be the one? In other words what is the difference between these two bats. Which one would you recommend?
Flames5
The Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBS719B3) will be very similar in design to the DeMarini Voodoo Insane (WTDXVIC19). They both feature an alloy barrel and a composite handle with an end loaded swing weight. The standard DeMarini Voodoo (WTDXVBC19) will have a hybrid design as well but feature a balanced swing weight.
John
How does the 719 compare to the older Easton Surge model?
M Carol
The older Easton Surge would be a very similar bat to the Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS719B3 as both bats are hybrid designs with balanced swing weights.
Cameron
I’m 5’10 200 pounds, do you think it would be hard for me to adjust to this bat since it’s end loaded?
Preston
Based upon your height and weight I do not think the end loaded weight of the Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS719B3 would be difficult to adjust to in the BBCOR selection.
Max
If I’m looking for a bat similar to the 716, would this be the best bet?
Nick
Yes, the Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS719B3 would be the newest version of the Louisville Slugger Select 716 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBS7163.
Logan
What are the outside temperature limitations for this bat if any? Spring baseball in the mid west brings is cold!
Andrew Wiegman
There really is no set temperature guidelines provided by the manufacturer on bats. However, we here at JustBats generally say to try and use a backup or practice bat if you can once the temperature gets around the 40-45 degree range. The coldest temps make the ball a bit more dense, causing it to stress the bat more on impact.
Kyle J.
So I am 6', 150 lbs and I’m a junior in high school. Is this bat a good fit for me or is it going to be too end loaded?
Brice Shaub
Generally end loaded models are recommended for power hitters, although some people simply prefer the feel of an end loaded model, so it's mostly player preference.
Kyle J.
I’m looking for a BBCOR Bat that has a slight end load feel. Nothing to heavy though because I still want fast hands. I play college baseball. Do you think this bat would fit my needs of a bat with a little end load but still fast through the zone?
Brandon
Yes, I think this bat would very closely match what you are looking for. Some other options to consider in my opinion would be the Marucci Cat 8 BBCOR or the Louisville Slugger Meta Prime.
Kyle
How much more end loaded does the 718 feel compared to the 719? Does the 719 feel like a lighter swing?
Brice Shaub
The swing weight feels pretty similar on both models in my opinion.
Kyle
My son has been swinging the VELO BBCOR. Can the 719 be a good choice for him? He is a strong hitter.
Jose
The Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS719B3 is a great option for a stronger hitter. The slightly end loaded swing weight can help a stronger/power type hitter gain some extra distance on those hits that are barreled up.
Cameron
My son is a 5'10" 175 lb, LH sophomore. He's been swinging a VELO, but I'm not sold on it. Is it pretty likely this Louisville Select is a hotter bat?
Bret Mann
BBCOR bats, like the Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS719B3, will not have much in the way of performance advantage over other bats on the market. The slightly end-loaded swing weight design may allow a hitter to generate more whip through the zone compared to the VELO (balanced design). This could translate to a slight increase in bat speed and, ultimately, distance on a batted ball.
Cameron
How thick is the bat tape used for this bat?
Michael
The Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS719B3 features a grip thickness of roughly 1.1 mm.
Cameron
Looking at the 31 inch for my 13 year old. From what I am reading this BBCOR is acceptable for the IESA according to the NFHS guidelines. Any chance you can confirm this? Hate to buy a bat and have it be unusable. We are in Central Illinois. Thanks!!!
Andrew Powell
The Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS719B3 does feature the needed BBCOR .50 stamp. This bat will be legal for all high school play.
Daveron
Is there a big difference in end loaded & slightly end loaded bats?
Bob
Typically, the difference will be half an ounce. The Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS719B3 will feature a half ounce end load. While fully end loaded bats are closer to one ounce top heavy.
Daveron
What is comparable to this bat?
Robert
Comparable models would be any of the more recent hybrid bats such as the DeMarini Voodoo, the Louisville Slugger Select, or the Marucci Cat 8 Connect. When searching, there is a filter titled "Material". Select "Half and Half" under that filter to display the hybrid bats we have available.
Kyle
What bat has more pop the Louisville hybrid 719 BBCOR or the Louisville 519 BBCOR?
Ed Bainer
Both the Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS719B3 and the Louisville 519 BBCOR use the ST 7U1+ Alloy Barrel technology so there won't be a difference in terms of performance there. However, the Select Hybrid is more end loaded than the 519, meaning you will see faster exit velocity off the barrel of the Select Hybrid. Overall, the Select Hybrid will be a little better performing than the 519.
Ben
Can I use it for high school?
Justyn street
Yes, this model is BBCOR certified for high school play.
Kyle
I'm 5' and 130 lbs. Would this be a suitable bat?
Elijah
If you are required to use a BBCOR model, then the Louisville Slugger Select would be a solid option, yes. Although this is a slightly end-loaded model (top heavy), so keep that in mind. You would want a smaller 30" size for your height and weight, and may want to consider a more balanced/lighter swinging option like their Solo or Omaha if you are a smaller player.
Kyle
(1) I'm 5’8 and I’m 165 pounds, would it be hard to adjust to this bat? (2) Also, is this a durable product?
Gavin
(1) Based on your height and weight, I would recommend a 32" length of this bat. This bat will be a little heavy towards the barrel, so if that is a feature you want to avoid, you might maybe look to another bat that is more balanced. (2) This bat appears to get pretty solid durability ratings when looking at the review we have received up to the time of this question.
Ben
I am mainly a contact hitter that will sometimes use power. Do think this bat is right for me? If not do you have any suggestions?
Robbie
If you are looking to add a bit more power to your game and feel like you could handle a more top heavy bat, this Select Hybrid 719 would be a good choice. If you think a more balanced, lighter swinging model would work better, I would suggest the Louisville Slugger Solo instead.
Kyle
Would this model swing the same as a c-271 wood and if not what bat or model would?
Connor Charron
The Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBS719B3) is end loaded and therefore will not swing the same as the balanced swing weight Louisville Slugger Prime Quanta C271 Ash Wood Baseball Bat (WTLWPA271A20). Although it is hard to accurately match up a wood baseball bat with a non-wood baseball bat, the Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBS619B3) is a balanced bat that would provide a similar swing.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
