Description
Increase your swing speed with this Louisville Slugger Select Hybrid 719 baseball bat. The 3-piece hybrid construction creates a strong and durable baseball bat with plenty of pop for hitting deep. A solid crack on the bat starts with swing speed, which is why this Louisville Slugger sports a new Speed Ballistic Composite end cap that slices through the air without sacrificing control. The patented VCX technology allows for independent movement between the barrel and the handle that controls vibration and provides an unmatched feel on contact. VCXTM technology creates a feel unique to each sport and player type. The balanced swing weight lets the bat do some of the work when you're hitting for power, or when you need that extra swing speed to push your momentum to the max. Pros: It’s a great bat ya boi hit long bomb chimichangas
Cons: Nah
Pros: Amazing pop hits long shots Hits balls so hard
Cons: None
Pros: This bat came pretty good out of the wrapper. He is easily hitting bombs at practice and has 2 homeruns with this bat so far.
Cons: None
Pros: My son(12) loves it! It’s his first two piece bat. Lots of pop. He hardly complains of any vibration. He loves the look and colors of the bat, he nicked named it, Black Mamba.
Cons: None yet.
Pros: Awesome service, got the bat super fast and the lizard tape was installed perfect! Only used bat in cage so far, but big pop!!!
Cons: None
Pros: Good bat for price. Everyone on the team is using it
Cons: USA bats generally [are not good] and this ones ok
Pros: Awesome pop, ready to hit right out of the box unlike an all composite bat. My 10 yr old hits a Demarini CF Zen and as its a great bat, there was a 400-500 hit break in period. This louisville was ready to go and my 12 yr is hitting bombs off this bat already in his first game with it.
Cons: None
Pros: Great condition and value. Beyond expectations. Won’t purchase a bat anywhere else.
Cons: None.
Pros: Doesn’t sting looks good
Cons: No pop at all
Pros: Ok at best pop, no vibration, good durability
Cons: The handle is a little weird at the bottom
Pros: Light weight ... fast swing!
Cons: Not the same as the bats 2 years ago , but he loves it!
Pros: This is a very well constructed bat. Very balanced swing weight, solid contact when hit right, and little to no vibration when hit off the end of the bat. It is a USA bat, so it will play different than a USSSA 1.10 bats just because of the bat regulations. But all things considered, this bat is a steal at this price point.
Cons: None.
Pros: good condition. Exactly what we ordered.
Cons: Sounds different than any other bat
Pros: Great pop, excellent quality, and no vibration.
Cons: None so far
Pros: Very balanced swing with little to no vibration. Already my son's favorite USA bat. Obviously it does not have the pop of the USSSA's but much better than some of the other USA's we've had. It does have more pop than the Rawlings 5150 and Velo USA's, just does not have that "ping" sound due to it being a two piece partial composite. Overall an excellent USA bat for the price point. I would strongly recommend this.
Cons: None so far
Pros: It has solid pop and good feel. My son has the old green Mako, and this bat has similar feel, sound, and power potential. We hit with it at a number of practices, and the power is comparable to drop 10 USSSA bats. It's not as hot as my son's Dirty South Swag drop 10 but is close. We bought it for middle school baseball because the requirements call for a USA bat or a BBCOR.
Cons: None that we can think of.
Pros: Comfortable grip. Great pop.
Cons: No cons. Love this bat.
Pros: Nothing
Cons: No pop
Pros: The bat so far has been as advertised. He has lots of pop and is a good feel in my son's hands.
Cons: None so far
Pros: Great pop out of the box. nice sound. big barrel. handle feels good.
Cons: End loaded
Pros: My son likes the graphics, bat seems to have good pop, very little vibration felt in the handle on those cold early spring practices, solid feel and sounds amazing.
Cons: None
Pros: Cool look, seems durable. Decent pop but not great.
Cons: Feels a bit end loaded in comparison to a Louisville USSSA bat my son uses for travel. Sounds horrible but no different than every other moderately priced USA bat we've tried.
Pros: Amazing pop for a USA bat Balanced feel No complaints of Hand sting
Cons: None as of yet
Pros: This bat has changed my sons game completely. For the price it’s a 5 star.
Cons: N/A
Pros: Hits bombs and super easy to swing
Cons: None
Pros: Its very good sheesh
Cons: None
Pros: Great pop right out of the box. Very impressed with this bat
Cons: None
Pros: Its a great bat has good pop and everything is so good about it.
Cons: Nothing
Pros: Good pop at the beginning but not very durable
Cons: Will not last with a good contact hitter
Pros: Pop is decent
Cons: Lots of people cheat remove the restrictor ring looks ridiculous u will def no if removed sounds totally different some parents think there slick it obvious first hit
Pros: Great feel, and the ball jumps off the bat. Love the sound of a well struck ball off this bat. My 9u (5’2”, 120#) loves this bat! Says the feel and sound of it is the best of any USA bat he has tried…and he’s tried a LOT. He easily hits this 20’+ farther than his old Easton.
Cons: None so far.
Pros: Son loves the feel of the bat, looks awesome as well.
Cons: None yet
Pros: Extremely light Extreme pop great durability
Cons: no
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Pros: I hit all my kids bats and by far this is my favorite USA bat hands down. Perfect sound, no vibration and plenty of pop for a USA bat. A little end loaded but in my hands feels great but in theirs its a little more difficult to get around. Would highly recommend for a stronger player.
Cons: A little end loaded but almost perfect for USA bat
Pros: I used this bat for 3 seasons in 10-12 rec league and still preforms like new. This things sweet spot is the whole bat no matter where you hit it it is going yard. as a 5,11 12 year old I hit a bomb dead center over a 300 foot fence. I hit 1,000 for 2 seasons straight with this bat and hit 972 the other. very balanced bat.
Cons: you will have to be used to getting your bat checked
Pros: It has a great felling and good grip to it.
Cons: nothing
Pros: My son is playing 11U tournament ball. League rules stat you can only use a USA bat. Like many dads I was looking to get my son the best USA bat on the market. As we all know USA bats do not have the same "POP" as the USSA bats. After trying several other bats we decided to try the Louisville Select. Hands down the best USA bat we hit with. Hopefully this review helps make your decision easier.
Cons: Price $280 for the 30/20. Definitely not cheap but worth the money. No other cons at all.
Pros: My 12yo hit a home run on the third time this bat ever made contact with a ball. Can’t imagine what it will do once it’s broken in!
Cons: None so far
Pros: The aluminum barrel is taking a beating much better than the ADV1 -10 he had. I am not saying the ADV1 is a bad bat. It was great for about the first 100 or so hits after a good break in. After that it started to go dead. After a bit of research this bat came up in my budget. Had a friend who's son had it , tried it liked it. Good solid hits without the sting. The composite bats just did not hold up with a USA Baseball stamp and this this thing is a work horse. Great control and taking the ball to the 200+ mark during the game and well past 230 off the machine. Being an Easton guy this was a jump . I am glad we did.
Cons: Grip was a stock grip. Not much else to say. He switched it for a Lizrad with a left hand wrap and went to work.
Pros: Over all great bat
Cons: None
Pros: had great pop cool looking never disappointed
Cons: lost pop after a year and paint broke after six hits
Pros: Very minimal vibration. Good pop off the bat. My kid hit a home run with his second hit with the bat.
Cons: None
Pros: Solid bat- my 11 yr old who weighs 70 lbs hits the ball very hard with fast pitching
Cons: Not sure if bat will last.
Pros: This bat has a ton behind the barrel of the bat and the ball goes far, really far. Also the vibration on this thing has a little to none of it. I have had 12 homers with this thing this year, and the season just started 3 weeks ago. I recommend this bat
Cons: Nah
Pros: No vibration, big sweet spot, quick swing, great pop
Cons: We bought this bat pre covid and it made it through a few practices and one game before the world shut down. In our first season back this year we are in game 8 and there are two flat spots in the barrel. Bat only lasted 9 games and some practices.
Pros: Really love this bat!! The pop is fantastic. I cannot speak to durability since she has only been using it for a week. She is 12 and uses a 33 -9.
Cons: N/A
Pros: This bat is amazing. 12 year old Grandson has hit so many long balls it’s hard to keep track.
Cons: None
Pros: Great for a USA bat. Good balance and my so n improved once swinging it.
Cons: None
Pros: Great pop and feel
Cons: Cracked on the barrel only about 80 swings in
Pros: Really good pop and feel
Cons: Cracked just under the Louisville logo on the top of barrel
Pros: By far worth the 230$, bought this bat a week ago and there is 0 vibration. The pop is amazing, swing weight is balanced and feels great. All out amazing bat!
Cons: Nothing so far
Pros: Bussin
Cons: Nothing
Pros: We got the 32/22 for my 10u son. Bat has sneaky pop. It doesn’t sound as loud as most bats when you barrel it up, but the it flies off the barrel. The switch over composite barrel to alloy barrel provides many benefits including you won’t get jammed and the bat won’t go dead like normal alloy bats. Fully composite bats lack durability. This bat is the perfect mix! My son is dominating 10u all stars right now with this bat!
Cons: None
Pros: Unbelievable pop. 12 year old grandson had 18 long balls this season. Hit 32 in Home Run Derby last week. Anyone who says this bat has no pop is either nuts or got a bad bat.
Cons: None
Pros: Been coaching for the last few years and 95% of the kids that have used this bat have nothing but positive things to say about it! Pop out of the box and my 11 yr says way better than the ADV he had last season and part of this season. My son loves it. Went through 4 Easton ADV's smashed the sides on 2 and the other 2 had cracked in less than 3 months. This USA bat is the real deal! Others will say go with another brand but I have seen average hitters put 5-10 feet on the ball using the LS Select! Definitely worth the money!
Cons: I hope my son doesn't grow out of it by next season or it's another 2-4 hundred dollars for a bigger size.
Pros: The bat has a great pop right out of the box! Light weight and balanced
Cons: None yet
Pros: Well built, large sweet spot, minimal vibration
Cons: Heavier for younger players vs aluminum drop 11, not nearly as much pop with a slower bat speed - this material requires higher bat speed to be effective vs aluminum (in my observations). My 9y/o son switch BACK to a LS Solo bat, and performs at a much higher level with it. My conclusion has been aluminum until a later age/stronger swing.
Pros: Got it for myself but my teammates have been using it and it hits nukes!! Highly recommend the 30 20.
Cons: Has me worried about the durability but nothing bad yet!
Pros: The kid loves it! Nice feel with some good pop! Our older 12yr old son swung a Prime w/a comp barrel for the last two seasons but this Select has more zing!
Cons: Gotta walk farther now to shag balls! I’ll take it!
Pros: its a great bat ti hit nice home runs and sound nice
Cons: nah
Pros: Bought this as a Xmas gift so my son hasn’t used it yet. But he has a LS 618 Prime 2pc 28/18 and loves it. I got this knowing he’ll be getting bigger by spring and needing a 29/19 soon. Great price for a leading USA -10 bat even if its a couple years old, gets great ratings. I’m assuming since its LS and has the ratings it will be comparable in performance to the 618. Great price, service, shipping, Jbats has my back.
Cons: Haven’t had any with the 618, don’t expect any with the 719.
Pros: Context: My kid is a larger kid and is using this bat in coach pitch (7U), but if you can swing this, man it's nice +Ball comes off the bat nice +Easy and balanced swing
Cons: -Haven't used long enough to run into issues. Will update accordingly.
Pros: This bat is GREAT! I used it in my 12u little league year, and it did great! It held up well, hit well, and helped my hit a couple bombs. AMAZING BAT!
Cons: The glue inside the bat got loose, so it rattled when I shook it. Also the grip wears out, so if you use it for a long time I recommend buying some lizard skin.
Pros: Great pop first half of season
Cons: Lost pop before season was over.
Pros: I have had this bat for my 10-year-old for a year now and I haven't been disappointed. Great feel and pop that added distance to his hits. No issues to speak about yet.
Cons: None
Pros: Absolutely no sting regardless of where the ball hits the bat. Balanced feel. We've had it over 1 year and no durability concerns at all. The pop off this bat is amazing. My son is big for his age, swinging this in a 31 as a 12 year old. So I don't know if it would be the best for smaller kids, but is still a drop 10. My son got improved exit velocity and distance over his aluminum bat. He hit his first over the fence home run with it in little league. The ball just feels like a pillow coming off the barrel but man does it go. My son and I both prefer this USA bat over several lower to mid range USSSA bats we've tried this year. I've read that some of the other all composite USA bats have some durability concerns. This bat is durable. My son hits the crap out of the ball with it. Even when he mis-hits it off the handle above the grip, and no cracks or anything.
Cons: Just have a lizard skin grip put on it by JustBats and it is perfect.

About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
