Pros: My son’s (15U) club has a Hit Trax system in their cage. After several thousand hits over several months with his balanced composite, he instead tried a 519 yesterday in his same bat size (33/30). In session #1, his record hit distance was immediately extended by over 25 feet. Average driven ball distance consitently matched his old record distance. He also passed his former record exit velocity on contact. Just 1 session... all that changed was the bat. This bat has bith pop out of the wrapper, and a very nice blend of balance and power. He also liked it better than several 2 piece bats he compared it with in the same cage.

Cons: As expected, there is more feel on good hits and more vibration on mishits than with the two-piece models he compared with. Didn’t bother him though so the vibration control works fine.

Good transition bat. Lincoln Moody Parent

Pros: Good balance Good bat to transition from a drop 10 to BBCOR.

Cons: None besides the fact that we went from 22 oz(-10) to 29 oz (-3) BBCOR so initially heavier.

Poorly made J Mik Coach

Pros: Umm...

Cons: Completely peeled within 2 weeks. Not the same bat as the previous year's model. Louisville rep says "2020 model Omaha has resolved the issue of peeling. We have not seen any complaints in this model" - no refund, sorry about your luck, better luck next year. Louisville mailed this one in.

So far so good Dom P Parent

Pros: I read reviews but didn't tell my son about them so he wouldn't give a bias review. I asked him how his new bat was, he said "I'm hitting tanks." Over the fence high school ball. I asked if there was stinging, he said no . Also mentioned nothing of the loud ping sound that people have complained about.

Great overall bat Adam Gin Player

Pros: Very balanced and had great feel to it.

Cons: The knob of the bat broke (after less than a year of hard use) and so the knob is loose so I can't swing it confidently anymore, sending it to early retirement. Huge bummer because I loved the bat.

Pros: So balanced. Ready to go out of the plastic. Nice pop!

Cons: Not really a con for the 519. My son swung the new Omaha 32last year. Didn’t really care for it he felt like he was dragging through the zone. Likes the older 33 519 so much better. I found and bought a back up from just bats . Thank goodness you had it

Have a question about the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How does this bat stack up to the 618 Solo both BBCOR drop 3? Which would be better for a 13 or 14 year old, 5'7" 115 pound boy?
w
Because of the strict regulations that is BBCOR, it is tough for a bat to exceed one or the other in performance, more of finding a bat that fits the individuals strengths. The Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 is a one pieced alloy that is balanced, typically works well for players trying to gain bat speed. The Louisville Slugger 619 will be the most balanced of the line.
Max
What is the difference between a USA stamp and a USSSA stamp? Which label do the BBCOR use?
Jim
A bat that features the USA stamp will be legal for play in little leagues. While the USSSA bats are designed for tournament travel play. A BBCOR stamped bat like the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 would not feature either of these stamps. They utilize the BBCOR .50 stamp and are allowed in both USA and USSSA play. All BBCOR stamped bats are -3 models.
Daveron
Is this the current model for the Omaha 517 Louisville bat?
nicole felicione
Yes, this is the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBO519B3). It is the most current edition of the Omaha bat from Louisville Slugger.
Ben
What is the advantage of buying the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 over the 518? Is the technology the same or is the 519 the same just different color scheme?
Keith Leduc
The Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 is actually now including vibration dampening technology to create a more comfortable overall experience. The performance should be fairly similar, but it will now be more forgiving on miss-hits.
Tyler
My son is playing JV Baseball for his school in VA. What are the bat rules? What size should I get him? He is 12 and on the small size. Any recommendations?
Craig
It sounds like he will most likely be required to use a BBCOR bat. The right length will be determined by his height and weight. You can determine the correct size for him here: https://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/. It seems he may need a lighter swing weight, I would recommend looking at balanced, two-piece bats.
Tori
Would this in 32” be good for a pretty strong 13 year old who is 5’9” and 135 lbs?
Baseball guy
Based upon your players height and weight I think a 32'' in the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 would be a good option given the player is of decent strength.
Max
Does "Hot Out Of The Wrapper Performance" mean no break-in required?
Bill
Correct, the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 will not require any break-in prior to game use.
Tyler
Can you use this bat in cold weather?
Mike
Yes, the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 can be used in cold temperatures since it is an alloy bat.
Tori
Is there a 30 day try out?
Tatum Hansen
No, unfortunately, the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 does not have a trial period.
Tori
What is the difference between this bat and the Solo 619 model?
Max
The Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBO519B3) and Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBS619B3) will differ slightly in terms of their overall construction. The Omaha 519 features a one-piece aluminum design. The Solo 619 is also a one-piece aluminum bat but it features a composite end cap. Both bats will have a balanced swing weight but the Solo 619's construction will make it feel more balanced than the Omaha 519.
Taylor
Does this bat have a large sweet spot for an aluminum bat?
Jtb
We do not know how large of a sweet spot the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 may feature but it has been an excellent one-piece alloy BBCOR bat that is widely used by those players that prefer a stiffer feeling bat.
Cameron
I've read several times that this bat will improve bat speed. My son is 15 swinging a 32" he is about 6' tall and weighs 185. His bat speed is good I think he needs to go to a 33" bat. Is this a good choice or should I look at end loaded bat??
Dana
Based on his height and weight, getting a 33'' Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 would be a good choice. This bat is designed for both power and balance, so it should be a good fit for him.
Tori
Is this bat legal after the white bat ban?
Brady
The Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 will still be legal after the white baseball bat ban. Since the predominant color is grey, it will work fine under that rule.
Max
My son is swinging the Omaha 518 32/29 and it has served him well. He hits the ball hard. He is 6ft 3.5in and weighs 215. We were thinking of switching to the 519 33/30. Right move?
Scott Kotzin
The Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 is going to be very similar to the Omaha 518. Both bats are going to be balanced and use the same ST 7U1+ alloy construction meaning you will see similar performance. Since your son is 6'3", then he could handle either a 33 in. or a 34 in. bat very well and see great results.
Ben C
Is this a drop 3 bat?
Ismael
Yes, all BBCOR bats are -3.
Kyle
Is this bat a "USSSA" bat?
Jeremy Alllen
The Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 is not a USSSA stamped bat. It is BBCOR approved.
Tori
I'm looking for a bat that is good for playing in temps under 50. Baseball is starting for my son and temps will be low through February. One piece sounds like it would be best. Is the Omaha 519 good for this?
Patrick McGinnis
One-piece alloy models like this Omaha do handle colder temperatures a bit better than composite models, yes. The Omaha would be a good choice.
Kyle
Does this bat have good pop? Also, is it very durable?
Gavin Nicassio
The Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 performs and holds up well. If you are seeking a one-piece alloy bat with a balanced swing weight, then the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 would be an excellent option.
Cameron
How come mine has pieces moving in it?
Jack
If you believe the bat has become defective or damaged, you can submit a warranty claim with the manufacture for a one-time replacement if you are within 12 months of the purchase date. Typically the rattling is just a small piece of end cap glue that has flaked off however.
Kyle
Is it a drop -3?
Sean
Yes, the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBO519B3) is a drop 3.
Bri
What is the difference between the 519 and 518 Omaha?
Ty
This Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 was made in 2019 while the 518 is the 2018 version. For the most part nothing really changed between the two years models.
Ryan
How’s the sting? Overall, is it a good bat?
Kule
The Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 is a one-piece alloy bat so there will be some stinging of the hands when the ball is not squared up correctly. There is some anti-vibration technology in the handle of the bat in the form of a material called Vibex; same concept as what is used in push mowers. Overall, the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO519B3 is a quality bat to consider for those that prefer the stiffer feel of a one-piece bat.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
