Great Bat Joshua A Strasser Coach

Pros: Seems to be better balanced for a youth bat. Has improved my son to have quicker bat speed and getting the turn on the ball.

Cons: Have yet to find a con, Owned the bat for about 30 days and so far about 20 hrs of batting practice and the bat is holding up great.

Solid Bat JEFF WEBSTER Coach

Pros: As advertised. My son prefers it over a similar priced Easton he used previously.

Cons: The 20 ounce bat weighs 21.5 ounces. The grip is nothing special. Easy enough to replace though.

Awesome Bat Joey Coach

Pros: My son loves this bat. Had issues with a bat from another manufacturer (dented, returned, dented again). I had about as much money tied up in trying to return it, and I could not send it back again and wait 3 weeks. Practice for the season has already started and I did not have that time or patience with a bad bat, especially after I had already been through that process once. Anyhow, decided on this bat after my son hit the 2018 model that another player on the team had. Did not want to spend this much on a bat for a 6 year old, but it has been worth every penny. I know 6 year old with a 28" bat. He is 49 inches tall and weighs 60 lbs with strong legs. He outhits all but three of the 8 year old kids on the team and that is because he is 6 and they are 8. Bat has great pop for a USA Baseball. My son is not scared to swing this bat for fear of hand stinging. Bat does not really have any.

Cons: Do you have any yet. Grip might become an issues at some point, but that is an easy fix. I would much rather have to replace a grip every 6 months than a bat.

Never buying a demarini again!!! Anthony Verone Parent

Pros: My son says feels good great pop

Cons: We’ve gone through 2 of these bats since November the first one made it through 1 tournament and the end cap cracked in the last game. Demarini repaleced in within a week on March 7th. Made it through the next tournament April 20th and today at BP cap exploded again. Point is you better not be out in front and catch one off the end of the bat because it may not survive. I would say maybe 300 swings between the 2 bats and they’ve fallen apart very very poor quality. Don’t buy a bat with an exposed end cap

Maybe it's defected? Mike Spencer Parent

Pros: Hardly any vibrations

Cons: My 11 year-old son has had 2 Demarini bats in the past; the CF7 and the 2018 CF Zen all of which were excellent, plus he has made multiple home runs with them. I know this is a USA baseball bat, but WOW this bat is horrible. He has the 32 inch model and the balls just keep going left and right past the foul line, and when he does hit the ball right at the super small "sweet spot" it still doesn't go far at all. Don't have to take my word from just my son only, since other players in his team tried it and the same result happens. As soon as they switch to a different bat, the change is so dramatic - the balls be flying far off of it. Avoid this bat especially the 32 inch model. Very disappointed with it, this is the first time Demarini has failed us.

Pros: My son just stated using this bat. Well it's a end load bat so it's a little different then what he was using before. But got sometime with it and starting to love it even know he won't Amit it. But overall it's a great bat would recommend it for stronger kids

Cons: End load bat had to change his mechanics a little bit to compensate for the heaver bat.

Pros: In my opinion. This bat is no different from the Quatro pro. And the Quatro pro is like 200$ more, this is the best USA bat

Questions and Answers (20)

Have a question about the 2019 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this bat approved for 14U USSSA?
Leslie
The 2019 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219 is USA approved, and would not be legal for play in 14U USSSA baseball. A -5 USSSA bat would be required for your player, so you could check out the 2019 DeMarini Voodoo -5 USSSA Baseball Bat: WTDXVB519.
Logan
My son is 4’5” 107 lbs. What size model of this bat do you recommend?
dadxxi
Per your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2019 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219 in a 30 inch model.
Cameron
The barrel size appears to be slightly larger (longer) than last year? Is that true or are the bats identical in geometry? Do they weigh/balance the same?
DropBombz
I was able to to compare the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo to this 2019 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD219). The geometry of the 2 bats is the exact same from my comparison. The balanced feeling will be the same between the 2 bats. As well, both bats will truly weigh about 2 oz over the listed weight.
Ben
Is the Voodoo -10 also called Voodoo balanced?
Paul
The 2019 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219 will be the youth model, the Voodoo balanced will be the BBCOR model which is an adult model.
Max
Is Justbats an authorized dealer for DeMarini?
michael potts
Yes, Justbats.com is an authorized retailer of DeMarini product such as the 2019 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219. This bat would feature a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty as a result.
Cameron
Does the new 2019 USA Voodoo -10 have any more pop than last years model?
Seth conners
The new feature for the DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219 is the paraflex composite handle that creates a responsive feel on contact. With the performance threshold needed to meet USA certification, you will not notice a significant increase among any new USA models.
Daveron
Would the 2019 Voodoo -10 USA or the CF Zen -10 USA have a lighter feel?
Cindy
Both the 2019 DeMarini Voodoo USA and the DeMarini CF Zen USA had a very similarly feel to them in my hands.
Kyle J.
I just bought this bat and when I took it out of the box it felt very heavy so I put it on the scales. I bought a 30/20 and the bat is 22.8 oz, so basically a drop 7. I will be returning this bat. Bat is 2.8 oz heavier than the stated weight.
Don
Almost all of the USA bats from this past year, especially the -10, -11 and -12 length to weight ratio models, came in, on average, 1.5 ounces over the listed weight. As for the DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219, we have a 30 inch model in our showroom that came in at 21.5 ounces on the food scale that is used to determine a bat's "true" weight.
Cameron
Is this bat legal for 8u coach pitch? My son is 4’6” and 70lbs. I was thinking of getting a 29” 19 ounce. What are your thoughts?
Alan
Yes, based on his height and weight, I would recommend getting the 2019 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219 in a 29''. This bat would work for coach pitch and would be legal if your league follows the new USA rules, like Little League.
Tori
My son is 4'4" inches and weights about 58 lbs. What size bat (Voodoo -10) would you recommend?
Chuck
Per your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219 in a 28 inch model.
Cameron
Is there any significant difference between the 2019 and 2018 model?
sagejr
The main difference between models is that the DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219 will now have a new Paraflex Plus composite handle for a more responsive and consistent feel on contact.
Tyler
Does the bat require any break in time?
Chris
No, this bat has an aluminum barrel so it will not require any break in period.
Kyle J.
My son turned 11 this past September and is 5'8" and weighs 120lbs. Question 1 is, what size bat is best for him? Question 2 is, which bat 2018 or 2019 style has the most "pop" for a USA certified bat?
Travis
Based on his height and weight, I would recommend getting the 2019 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219 in a 28''. There won't be a huge difference in performance between the 2018 and 2019 models.
Tori
What are differences between the Voodoo and the CF Zen?
Gregg W
The main difference is that the DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece, hybrid model with an alloy barrel while the CF Zen is a two-piece, fully composite bat.
Kyle
Being that the Voodoo has an aluminum alloy barrel, it can it be used in all weather?
Gabino
Cold temperatures can be hard on any type of bat, regardless of construction, but alloy barrel bats, such as the DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219, do tend to hold up a little better in colder weather than composite models.
Logan
My son is 4’7” and weighs 85 lbs. I’m torn between the 29 inch model and the 30 inch model. What do you recommend?
Erik
Since your player is right on the verge of needing a 30" bat and won't be getting any smaller, I'd suggest moving up to a 30" DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219 as long as you feel he can handle the 20 ounce weight.
Logan
Wondering what size you would suggest for my 4’11” 105lb 9 year old son?
Erin
Based upon your son's height and weight I would recommend going with a 30'' 20 oz model in the DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219.
Max
My son is 9 and going on 10 soon. He is 4'10" tall, 130 lbs and currently using the 2018 Louisville Slugger Select 718 30"/20 oz. I'm not sure if we should go with the '19 or '18 Voodoo -10 or go up to the Ghost Evo -8. Thanks.
RAFAEL
It's difficult to say if a player should increase the weight of their bat, as it has much more to do with their own strength and ability more than anything. Given his age however, I would probably suggest sticking to a -10 model, as that is definitely the most common drop for that age range. Typically -8 models are not used until players are around 12-13, as they transition towards using -3 BBCOR models by the time they hit high school.
Kyle
My son has this bat. It's not balanced enough for him. Very end heavy bat. He uses and loves his 2019 Marucci CAT 8 -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: MSBC810 that he uses for travel ball on the weekends. What bat would have the same balance/feel as the Marucci but in USA?
Barrett
It would be hard to say whether there is a bat that is going to be as balanced as a Marucci CAT 8 USSSA bat. The DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219 will feature a different design as this is a two-piece bat with a hybrid design (alloy barrel and composite handle). A one-piece alloy bat that may feature a similar swing weight feel to the Marucci CAT 8 USSSA bat would be the DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO219.
Cameron
Is this a good bat for travel ball?
Paul hamm
The DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219 is a USA certified bat. This option would be at a disadvantage against the higher performing travel tournament certification of USSSA. The DeMarini Voodoo -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: WTDXVBZ19 would be a higher performing bat for travel baseball.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
