10u softball Colin Coach

Pros: Bought this for my 11 yr old daughter for her 2019 10u softball season.(31/19oz) The bat feels great with the grip they put on. She says if feels good and seems well balanced by watching her swing. Started practicing with it when we got home, and has good pop. First pitch, ball came off the bat with noticeably more speed and had great pop. Daughter looked at me and " I like this bat!". After about 30-40 pitches, barrel and handle shows no sign of defects or cracks, and she didn't once complain about "stingers". All smudges wiped right off.If shes happy and builds confidence, then I'm good with it. We'll see how it holds up during season play, but first impressions, should be just fine.

Cons: None yet, but will post if something changes.

Great bat! CJarel Parent

Pros: Lovethe feel and pop. We got 3 HRs in this bats first game, 2 from my daughter (her first ever) and 1 from a teammate that borrowed the bat!! I call that a success

Cons: If we had been picking on looks alone we probably wouldn’t have gone with this one...looks nice but not very flashy. But we went for quality over looks and glad we did.

Great bat for first upgrade to composite. Dustin Coach

Pros: Needed a larger bat for my 11yr old. Went to the 32” to hopefully have the bat for more than one season, but was worried about the increased weight. Was very pleased with the light feel of the bat due to the weight balance. My daughter says is swings lighter than her 30 inch one piece alloy bat and she is driving the ball better than ever!

Cons: None

Really Happy 8u Julie Player

Pros: Really happy. No vibration off the pitch, lightweight and comfortable grip. Not ridiculously expensive for an 8 y/o. My daughter is more confident with this bat

Cons: None really. I mean my 8 y/o wishes it was prettier but she will be fine

Questions and Answers (26)

Have a question about the DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Would this be a good bat for my 13 year old daughter that plays 14U?
Traci
The 2019 DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF would not be a good option to use for a 14U player. At the age of 13 a -11 bat would be a better option, such as the 2019 DeMarini CF Zen -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS19.
Cameron
Is the 2019 DeMarini Vendetta -12 hot out the wrapper?
Jay
We would recommend a slight break-in period of 50-150 swings off the tee or soft toss on the 2019 DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF before it being game ready.
Cameron
Would this be a good bat for 9 year old girl?
Rachel
The 2019 DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF would be a good bat for a nine year old girl.
Max
Would this be a good bat for an eleven year old playing travel ball?
Sam Saxion
Depending on your players height and weight the 2019 DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF could be the right bat.
Max
My daughter is in a 12U travel league (not full time). Based on having her swing several bats we came up with 32"/20oz to be ideal but is the Vendetta -12 fastpictch a good match?
Tim & Nicole O'Connor
The 2019 DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF could be a good option for your player. The two-piece design will be stiffer than the more flexible three-piece bats. However, we would be a little considered with durability. Drop 12 bats are usually intended for players aged 8-9 years old. We see most 12U players using -10 or -11 options, for example the 2019 DeMarini CF Zen -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS19.
Daveron
Would this be a good bat for my 11 yr old? She says she likes her current 31/-12. She is about 85 lbs, just moving up to 12U.
Jennifer Reed
The 2019 DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF is certainly a good bat to consider for a smaller 11 year old player. The balanced swing weight will make it easier on the player to control the barrel head of the bat.
Cameron
My daughter is 9 years old, 77 lbs and 4'4" tall. Will the 30/18 be okay for her?
SoftballMom
Based on your player's height and weight, we would generally recommend a 29" length of bat. However, if you feel good about her being able to handle the 18 oz weight, I think a 30" sizing of this 2019 DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXVCF) would be okay for her.
Ben
Will this be good for my 15 year old for high school softball? She is 5'9".
Irene
The 2019 DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF is a great bat, that could definitely work for her. However, it will really depend on her strength. Since she is taller, if she is also strong, she might need a heavier bat. You may want to consider a -11 or -10 , depending on what she is used to and her strength.
Tori
Does this bat have an alloy handle?
Marina Herrera
The DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastptich Softball Bat (WTDXVCF) is a two-piece full composite design.
John
Would this be a good bat for an 11-year-old in 12 U? She's 5'2 and 109 lbs.
Sherri
The 2019 DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF is a good choice for an 11 year old who needs a lighter bat. Based on her height and weight, I would recommend getting it in a 32''.
Tori
My daughter is 4'7" 70lb 10yrs. She is playing Major league and 12u travel. We are looking for a bat that would be suitable for her. She struggled with hitting the ball to the green since moving up to the 12" ball. What would you recommend for
Nicholas
This DeMarini Vendetta would be a good choice if you are looking for a very light bat that still offers solid performance. Some other models to consider are the Louisville Slugger Xeno and LXT, or the DeMarini CF Zen.
Kyle J.
I am 15 and I am playing 14U. Do you think that it is a good idea to use a drop -12?
Aubry Horner
Typically, a 15 year old playing fastpitch softball swings a -10 , but depending on your height and weight could be the option for you. If you are a bit smaller player looking for more bat speed the DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF would be a perfect fit.
Max
I am 15, 5’7’ and like 170. I am playing 14U and high school. What do you think about this bat for me?
A
Based on your height and weight, I would suggest a 34" length. The 2019 DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF will probably be a bit light for you, so I would look at something like the 2019 DeMarini CF Zen -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP19.
Logan
My daughter is 13 years old and is 5'3 and 101 pounds. She is a good hitter and I am trying to figure out if this is a good bat for her.
Sherry
With the player specs listed, we would suggest a 32" bat for your player. The age of your player would suggest that a -12 option may be too light for her. In general, 13 year olds are in the -11 or -10 sized bat. An option to consider would be the DeMarini CF Zen -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP19.
Daveron
Is this a composite bat? Also my daughter is about 5'3" tall and 138 lbs. Would this be a good size for her?
Tiffany
Yes, this is a two-piece, composite model. For her height and weight, we would recommend a 32" length.
Kyle J.
My daughter is 8 years old and 80 pounds. What weight bat would your recommend in the DeMarini Vendetta -12?
Misty Sanchez
If you're wanting to go with the DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF, I would suggest the smallest size available, which is 29" 17 ounces.
Logan
Besides the color, are there any other differences between the 2017 and 2019 version?
Susan
The 2019 DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF will be very similar as far as performance and feel to the 2017 model and you won't notice any major differences.
Tori
Trying to figure out if this would be a good option for my 11 y/o daughter. She’s 4’10” about 90 lbs. Thinking a 31” length.
Chris
The DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF could be a good fit for an 11 year old player if they struggle with a heavier bat. Otherwise, you may want to consider a -11 bat as it will be more durable typically for an 11 year old player.
Cameron
I know you said this probably isn't good for a 13 year old, but my daughter is on the small side. She is 5'2" and only 94 lbs. , not a lot of meat on her bones. Would you still recommend a -11, or what would you recommend?
Matt
The DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF could work for your 13 year old daughter, but based upon her height and weight I would recommend swinging a 32'' -11. These recommendations are based upon her height and weight, but if you believe the -11, such as the DeMarini CF Zen -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS19, will be too heavy for her I would trust what you see everyday in your daughter's swing. The -11, such as the DeMarini CF Zen -11 Fastpitch, Softball Bat: WTDXCFS19, could be used for years to come if your daughter does hit a growth spurt as well and will have a light swing weight in order for her to use it now.
Max
Would this be a good bat for my 17 year old daughter? She hasn’t’t played in a few years and is not big (she weighs less than 100 lbs).
Steven Parker
This bat should work is she is needing a very light bat, yes. However if she will be facing high velocity pitching, it may not hold up over time as well as heavier models, such as a -11 or a -10.
Kyle
Is this bat good for a 12 year old who is 85 lbs.? She is small for her age, not too much power. Didn't know if Bustos would be better. Leaning toward a 31 inch.
Stephen
The DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF is generally better suited for a younger player. Generally speaking, for a player that is 12 a -11 length to weight ratio bat would be better (more durable). If your daughter is on the smaller size then you could certainly go with a -12 bat like the Vendetta but we would worry about the longevity of the bat from a durability standpoint.
Cameron
Would the 2019 DeMarini bat be good for a high school player ?
Taniya Youngblood
The DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF would not be the best option for high school play. This bat is intended for younger players, about 9-11 year olds. This option may have durability issues with the velocity of pitching at the high school level. A models that would work better are the DeMarini Carbon Candy -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCND or DeMarini CF Zen -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP19.
Daveron
Would this be a good bat for a 12 year old that plays in 12u?
Peightyn
Yes, the 2019 DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF is a good choice for a 12 year old who is needing a light weight and balanced bat.
Tori
Would this be a good bat for a 7 year old playing 8U League Softball and 8U Select Travel Ball? She is about 4’3” and 62 pounds.
Holly
Yes, the DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF will be very balanced and easily controlled by a younger player.
Tyler
Would this be a good bat for me? I’m 13 and play 11-12 league.
Grace Gray
The DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF may be a little light for a 13 year old and thus may not hold up as well. If capable, we would recommend using a -11 bat at that age. One such option would be the DeMarini CF Zen -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS19.
Cameron
I have a 9 year old girl playing fast pitch softball. She weighs 90 lbs and is 4'7". Would the 31”/19oz be the right size for her or should she go 30”/18oz?
Juan landa
Either size could work really for height and weight. It will mostly depend on her personal preference. Other factors to consider are her strength, swing efficiency, how far/close they stand from the plate, if they choke up at all, etc.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
