Great bat! Brandon Parent

Pros: Has a lot of pop right out of the box for a USA bat. My son is 7 and loves the way his swing feels with this bat. He has been using the Easton S750, which has been a really good bat for him. The DeMarini bat just takes the sting out of it, swings better, and has more pop. I would definitely recommend it.

Cons: Wish we got it earlier!

Exceeded my expectation Kim Parent

Pros: My son swings the USSSA zen and we decided to upgrade his rec bat to this for the all star season. It’s an ounce heavier so we weren’t sure how he would do. First night at the field and he was blasting balls to the fence. He’s a decent hitter anyway but at only 8 years old 54lbs he was never a power hitter. He is now one of the biggest hitter on his team. Great buy

Cons: Barrel is a little shorter than expected mostly making it look odd. Hasn’t seemed to interfere with performance.

Great Bat and Great Customer Service! Joe Baseball Parent

Pros: My son and most players on his team love the “Zen”. He said it has fantastic pop, minimal vibration & the weight is perfect. After purchasing the bat I walked into a national sporting good store and found the exact bat for $100 less. I sent a general email to the customer service rep. at JustBats explaining the situation and within five minutes of hitting send I received a notification from my credit card company that $100 was credited back to my card. It’s good to know that they truly stand behind both their products AND pricing.

Broken Bat Sean McKenzie Coach

Pros: Decent pop and well balanced for USA bat

Cons: Had the bat for 3 months, and the handle separated from the barrel! Contacted Demarini and they gave me the runaround and did not replace the bat (even though I provided pictures). Now, headed to the 9-11 LL All Star State Tourney without a bat. This is my 3rd Demarini bat... Won't purchase another one.

Great bat/great site John Debes Parent

Pros: My 8 year old loves this bat. We just received it a week or so, and being a composite, we had to break it in. He didn’t complain about the feel of the bat, or any vibrations, during that entire process. He’s used it for a couple hitting sessions since the break in process & it feels like he is getting more distance on his hits. The customer service at justbats was great, also; I found the bat cheaper elsewhere, called them up & was walked through a very quick, very painless process of matching the price. The bat was delivered in just a few days, where the other site’s delivery would have taken 2 weeks. Will definitely buy from justbats again.

Cons: None, so far. Gave a 3 for durability, as he hasn’t used the bat for long enough to know how it will hold up. If the bat holds up, this will be a 5 star review, across the board.

Do not make same mistake Tom Parent

Pros: None because bat won’t last

Cons: Durability End cap broke last year, but replaced in May. Barrel of replacement bat shattered in July. Made the mistake of buying a new bat at that time so 11year old could finish state tournament. Saved the new bat this year for games only and end cap broke after less than 50 swings. Say no to Demarini.

Does this have the ceramic rings inside the barrel? Domingo
To our knowledge, the DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 does not feature any ceramic rings inside the barrel.
Cameron
Will this bat be available in 28 18? Joe
At the time of this posting, we do not anticipate this DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 becoming available in a 28" option.
Daveron
How much different is this model compared to last year's model? Tony
The major difference between last year's CF Zen and this DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 is the new paraflex plus composite material used in the construction of the barrel.
Tyler
Why is this bat no longer on Demarini’s website? Will this bat be available again? Greg Denalsky
Unfortunately we can't really speak for DeMarini on why they would not list the item on their site. They may run a live inventory like we do, so once the item goes out of stock it gets pulled from the site just to avoid any confusion about available inventory. You would need to contact DeMarini for more information on when they will carry this bat.
Kyle J.
Is this bat legal for little league? Phil
Yes, the DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUFX19) is approved for play in Little League.
John
I know most composite bats should not be used in cold weather. Is there an official temperature point from DeMarini where this CF Zen USA bat should not be used? John
The temperature threshold varies but here at JustBats we do not recommend using the DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 in temperatures below 55 degrees.
Tyler
Is this bat a 2 3/4 or a 2 5/8? Tammy Whitehead
The DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 will feature a 2 5/8" barrel diameter; per USA bat standards, any USA approved bat can feature a barrel diameter up to 2 5/8".
Cameron
What would the break in period or recommendations be for this bat? Is this bat superior over last year's bat or is it a purely cosmetic difference? Thomas owen
We generally recommend anywhere between 50-150 swings off a tee or with soft toss, rotating the bat as you hit with it to achieve a good, even break-in all around the bat. This would apply to any composite model in our opinion. As for the differences, this model of the CF Zen USA uses their new Paraflex Plus composite and D-Tak grip tape, but not other real significant changes.
Kyle J.
Does this bat need to be broken in before using in a game? Michelle Ingram
This has a composite barrel, so we always recommend breaking those bats in before game use. Generally we suggest 100-200 hits off a tee or soft toss at about 3/4 swing speed. Rotate the bat slowly between each swing to break it in all around the barrel.
Kyle J.
Can this composite bat be used in the cold weather? Chris
The DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 can be used in cold weather but, like other composite bats, it will perform and hold up better in warmer weather (ideally anything above 55 degrees Fahrenheit).
Cameron
Does the the USA version have the same reputation for breaking as as the USSSA version? Travis
So far, the DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 seems to have a better reputation for durability than its' USSSA counterpart. That being said, any composite bat has the chance to eventually crack. You will have a 12 month manufacturer's warranty protecting from defection, as well.
Tyler
Has this bat broke any? sloan
Unfortunately we would not know the amount of warranty claims DeMarini has handled pertaining to the DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19. Most youth bats will go through the warranty process at some point though.
Cameron
Just making sure, is this bat approved for USSSA tournaments? James Ellison
The DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 is a USA stamped bat. This certification regulates league play: Little, Cal Ripken, Pony, etc. The performance threshold is lower than USSSA; yet USA stamped bats are allowed in USSSA travel tournament play.
Daveron
Do you ship to Canada? giles
No, unfortunately we do not ship to Canada.
Kyle
Is there a difference between the CF Zen Black, the CF Zen Red and this bat? Greg Wilcox
This CF Zen USSSA Black (WTDXCBZ-BL) and the CF Zen USSSA Red (WTDXCBZ-19) will be the exact same bat except for the colors painted on the two bats. However, this DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUFX19) will be different from the CF Zen Black and CF Zen Red. Both the Black and Red CF Zen bats feature the USSSA stamp. This CF Zen -10 USA bat has the lower performing USA stamp (as well, it has a smaller 2 5/8" barrel diameter). Because of that, this bat will be a lower performing baseball bat.
Ben
I had read several reviews on the manufacturer's website about the end cap breaking and the bat cracking. Have these issues been resolved? Seth
There is always a chance the DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 could crack as this is what happens most commonly to composite barrel bats. As for the end cap, we have not heard of anything out of the ordinary regarding end cap issues. With that being said, since the end cap is not designed to hit a baseball, but rather provide a lighter swing weight and enhance the sound on contact, there is always a likelihood of end caps breaking if contact is made.
Cameron
When do you think you will have the 30"/20 oz models back in stock? Rich
Unfortunately, we will not be getting anymore of this DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 in stock as the new version is starting to be released.
Tori
What is the weather rating on this? doug kuczynski
The DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 does not have a weather rating but with it being a composite barrel, it would be best to use in temperatures above 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cameron
What is the difference between this bat and the new release? Shane
The main difference between the DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 and the DeMarini CF -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX20 would be the end cap design (new ReACTION end cap increases barrel performance without sacrificing swing speed).
Cameron
Hi, does this model came in a size 30"? CARLOS
The DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 was made in a 30 inch model but unfortunately we have sold out of this size. With that bat being a closeout model, we will not be able to restock the 30 inch size. We do have the DeMarini CF -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX20 in a 30 inch model.
Cameron
Is this bat legal in USSSA? Adrian
The DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 can be used in USSSA but would be lower performing as it is a USA model.
Cameron
Do you need to break-in this bat? Anthony marcel
Since this DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUFX19) is made of composite material it will require a break-in period. I would recommend allowing a few days of use before expecting it to perform at its highest level.
Ben
Why doesn't the CF Zen in USA come with multiple drops? Ben
Due to how tough it can be to make the new USA bats, when considering the lighter weight youth players are needing, DeMarini is unfortunately not offering the DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 in any other drop weights.
Cameron
Are there any temperature restrictions on this bat? Terry Williams
Generally speaking, we usually advise switching to a backup bat or an aluminum/alloy model once the termperature gets to around 45ish degrees or lower if you can.
Kyle
What is the lowest temperature you can hit this in? Thanks! Stan ash
The DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 should not be used in lower than 45 degrees.
Jack
Can this bat be played in recreational regular baseball season, and not selecte baseball.i need a bat that is labeled USA not trippel USA Victor, Martinez
The DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 will be a USA bat. It will be eligible for recreational baseball.
Jack
does this bat have the same durabitly problems as the usssa bat review? or cracking.. I just bought this bat now having 2nd thoughts? brett oakman
The DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 is going to be vastly different from the USSSA version. With different standards set for the two bats, it doesn't appear that this bat will have an durability issues looking at the reviews.

My son is 10years 80lbs 4’ 6” wondering if the 29” is the rite size for him? He is now using a Rawlings Quattro 28” 18oz “he thinks is to small for him. Miguel Lara.
Based on his height and weight, getting the DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 or any bat in a 29'' would be the recommended size.

Compared with the 2020 Easton ADV 360 -11 USA Baseball Bat: BB20ADV11, which is better for 12 year old hitter at 31" bat length, in terms of sting to hand from just off sweet spot contact and price, durability etc.? Ted Lehmann
The DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 would be the better option of the two. This bat will offer more vibration control and be a better overall bat, in terms of length to weight ratio, for a 12 year old player.
Cameron
Is this a 32 in bat? tamara
The DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 is available in a 32''
Tori
Does the blue Lizard Skin match up to the blue in the barrel? Joseph
The blue Lizard Skin grip tape might be a slight shade lighter than the blue colorway on the DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19.
Cameron
Is this bat as good as the Solo for a 32 inch? bob
LS does not make the Solo in a -10 USA format. With that being said, the DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX19 is a great USA option for those that prefer a two-piece bat with a composite barrel. This bat will feature a balanced swing weight making it a great bat for all types of hitters.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
