Description
The time has come! Marucci finally gave in and expanded their CAT lineup by creating a CAT 7 intended for younger USSSA players who need a drop 10 senior league baseball bat. This youth big barrel bat is guaranteed the be the most balanced bat in your bag. With a one-piece, 100% AZ4X alloy construction, this design delivers a traditional, stiff feel on contact with superior strength and a higher response rate than ever before. Through extensive research and player feedback, Marucci's bat engineers have determined that the most common complaint from amateur players is negative vibration to the bottom hand. On one end of this exclusive design, the innovative second-generation anti-vibration knob, also known as the AV2, provides an incredible feel at the plate with a decreased sting to the hands that is typically associated with alloy bats. As if that wasn't enough, Marucci has utilized their ring-free barrel technology on the other end to enhance the overall feel, optimize performance over the entire hitting surface, and guarantee zero dead spots for maximum performance. Marucci: Made To Rage!
This Marucci CAT 7 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC7X10) features a drop 10 length to weight ratio, a 2 3/4-inch barrel diameter, and the USSSA 1.15 BPF certified stamp. Due to the high-end construction, this model is one of the most forgiving, sweetest feeling, and hardest hitting baseball bats available for USSSA players. Increase your swing speed and your batting average by picking up one of these Marucci CAT 7 bats today with free shipping and a full one (1) year manufacturer's warranty. Pros: Anti-Vibration knob, Hot out of the wrapper.
Cons: None
Pros: Switched my son from a Mako to this Marucci for 11U travel and what a difference! His confidence has already increased significantly. The sweet spot seems larger than the mako and has a lot more pop with less vibration. Every time he's finished in the cages, the other players are trying to get their hands on it. It's worth the money!
Cons: None yet...curious how the 3/4 will hold up after a few games but so far, no CONS at all. Great product...very happy.
Pros: Great feel. Big sweet spot. Lots of pop. Looks cool and makes a great sound. My 11 yo went from Rec/All-Stars to travel and wanted a big barrel. This has a great weight on the swing and the transition to a heavier bat was seamless. Hit his first ever homerun (dead center) in his 3rd time up. It has become very popular with his teammates too.
Cons: None yet
Pros: price already dropped from poor sales
Cons: tiny barell bad size translation price already dropped from bad sales do your self a favor and get the posey the barell was an inch and a quarter longer at its max point
Pros: AV2 knob
Cons: Barrel is a little shorter than the Posey. However the AV2 knob is the whole reason to buy this bat. My son used his Posey and dealt with the hand sting all last season. After this tournament with the Cat 7 I asked if he had any desire to use his Posey again and he said no. He stated the Cat 7 didn't sting his hands once. As for the negative comments about barrel length, the Posey isn't exactly the longest barrel either. If your looking for a longer barrel get the HEX connect. If you're looking for a solid bat for a confident hitter this is a great bat to consider.
Pros: My son is 9 yrs old and had a cat 6 and has been a very good bat. The bat has a very good sweet spot. I would recommend very highly.
Cons: none at the moment.
Pros: My son was using a combat 27 -10 and we switch him to Cat 7 and you could tell the immediate difference. The balls fly off this bat and has become a team favorite. So much so that a couple of kids have gone out an purchased these bats for their own.
Cons: None
Pros: AV2 knob Sweet Spot I'm not going to get on here and say this bat made my kid hit big home runs or triples galore. In an honest review, this bat has improved my kids confidence. The sting from his previous Mako and even the 516 are gone. We have probably hit about 800 baseballs with this in practices and he has used in 6 games so far. At no point does he tell me his hands are stinging from hard contact with the ball. This improved confidence has helped him overall improve his avg and slg percentages. He was so worried about the sting from the Mako Beast that he stopped using it. Not with the Cat 7 so far. Marucci has put out some great bats for older and younger leagues but glad this came out now to hit the 9-12u range of kids that just could not swing a -8 or -5 yet or needed a longer bat than a 27. We have the 29/19.
Cons: I dislike white bats-really the only problem so far is being white and showing every stain.
Pros: Bought this for my 10 year old who plays travel ball. Homerun first game used. Multiple other hits to the fence and line drives.
Cons: None
Pros: Light weight , drives the ball farther.
Cons: None
Pros: Good pop. All around great feel and bat.
Cons: Nothing bad.
Pros: It does perform well. My son swings it like it's weightless. He has very quick hands.
Cons: I specifically asked Just Bats was the sweet spot as big as the sweet spot on the Cat 6 and Cat 7 from coach pitch. You can see my question right here online. They said it was comparable/the same. Oh no it is definitely smaller. The bat is too skinny just like the F5. Also the price dropped from $225 to $199 like 2 days after I bought it. But my son still hits deep w this bat. Looking to get a Hex Connect now. A bat w a real sweet spot.
Pros: This bay will not disappoint. Hot out of the wrapper like the old Cat 5. My 11u son put one out 225ft and he is not a big kid barely 90lbs.
Cons: None
Pros: 11U son always prefers 1 piece, but with that comes some sting on occassion. when Cat 7 with the anti-vibration knob came out, we tried it out. Bat diesn't make the players better hitters, practicing good mechanics and confidence does. in my opinion, this bat allows for both.
Cons: Nothing yet. cannot comment on durability yet, but that's why these bats have warranties.
Pros: great out of wrapper, my son loves it
Cons: none yet
Pros: My 9u son absolutely loves the new bat! First pitch at batting practice he laced to LC fence!! Every ball hit was a solid line drive. I jammed him intentionally and he didnt complain about stinging his hands. Kid cant wait to use in tourney. Good job marucci
Cons: None
Pros: Great pinging sound. Can be used in any temperature. Seem to jump off bat with zero vibration. Sons favorite after buying Easton Hyperlite ghost X(2018), Louisville 918(2018) and Marucci F5 (2018).
Cons: none
Pros: The bat has a awesome feel to it, I love it and so do my teammates!
Cons: Nothing
Pros: Great pop and lightweight!
Cons: none yet
Pros: ready to go out of the box
Cons: none
Pros: This bat has a ton of pop!! The ball comes off the bat hot.My son is excited for the season.
Cons: none
Pros: great pop out of the wrap first weekend used ball jumped off the bat second weekend hit it even better very satisfied with the bat.
Cons: none yet
Pros: My son is on the small side. I have tried several bats: the Voodoo, CF Zen, 618 SOLO. I found with him Aluminum bats worked better, but he didn't like the vibration. The only bat that closely compared to this bat was the 618 SOLO, and even though the 618 doesn't vibrate as much, it doesn't have ad much pop as the CAT 7
Cons: Smaller kids like my son will love this bat, but stronger hitters will want to go with the -8. Vibration is a little harsher than the 618 Solo, however it is not bad at all.
Pros: lots of pop, evenly balanced
Cons: none
Pros: great pop out of the wrapper by far the best out there so far
Cons: none
Pros: this is the best model bat in the market hands down. ive purchased several high dollar bats for my son over the last couple years and none come close to the cat 7. our whole 8u team uses either a 27" or 28" version of this bat. you simply wont find a better bat for the money.
Cons: none
Pros: zero
Cons: multiple
Pros: bat has a lot of pop, well balanced, very distinct noise, son likes it
Cons: no idea about durability yet, a little pricey
Pros: Light weight, good all around feel for the kids. so far no cons. but we have only used in 2 different tournaments so time will tell. so far so good. we are happy with the bat!
Cons: none to mention as of now. solid bat!
Pros: bat feels good in your hands. Can hear the difference when you hit it flush.
Cons: None so far.
Pros: No vibration Awesome pop
Cons: none
Pros: Great pop and wide sweet spot. My 10 yo son loves it!
Cons: None
Pros: Great pop and balance. My son is hitting better with this bat than he has in years.
Cons: absolutely none
Pros: Good looking bat and great grip. The sweet spot seems small but if you hit it perfect its great.
Cons: My 9 year old travel baller didnt love this bat and prefers his 2017 Rawlings 5150.
Pros: Bought 27/17 bat for my 6 year old, 7U machine pitch boy. He loves it! Light swing! Great pop! He's now hitting ball to the outfield! very happy with bat
Cons: If anything, price. But its a great bat!
Pros: tons of pop in this bat, looks great and feels great.
Cons: after one weekend of a few 12u players using this bat and hitting 5 homers in the last two games, the bat already has a pretty good dent in it.
Pros: This is the third Cat 7 purchased in my house. The first two were -8 and -5 models for my middle child. Never had an issue with either one of those, just ages have different drops that they use. This 30/-10 was purchased for my youngest child. He has had several composite bats and we wanted to go back to a one piece aluminum and the Cat 7 was the only one we really wanted to go with because of the success we've had with this bat in prior use.
Cons: no Cons
Pros: The Cat 7 has more (PoP) ball speed than the more expensive composite bats and is much better balanced. Younger batters can swing this bat much faster and with better mechanics than a end loaded composite. The bat is ready to go out of the wrapper and just as good in cold weather as it is in warm weather. Try to find a composite that can do that. I promise your Kid will enjoy this Bat and the vibration dampener really works. We had the Cat 6 and was very satisfied and even more satisfied with Cat 7.
Cons: nothing so far
Pros: No "sting" Great pop straight outta the box and with 500+ hits on it Excellent feel Bought 30 -10 for my 9 y/o, now half the team is swinging this thing
Cons: None
Pros: From the very first hit the pop was unbelievable. Now after his first game using it other kids from his have been using it with great results. The absolute balance of the bat makes it feel lighter than other bats of its size. He said thst he hasn't felt any vibration. I would recommend this bat to anyone.
Cons: none
Pros: First time BP with it my 9 year old is hitting tape measure one hop shots to a 215ft fence! The smile on his face is priceless! and he's been hitting with the Louisville Slugger Prime 916 prior to the Cat 7. I definitely recommend this bat to any player.
Cons: He does feel a little sting with fastballs from his coach but feels nothing when hitting a pitch from kids
Pros: pop feel durability and anti vibration knob
Cons: none
Pros: Bat seems to have a lot of pop not just in barrel area. it is extremely balanced. The grip is very comfortable and perfect size for 12 yesrs olds hands
Cons: every kid wants to use it. haha
Pros: Good pop, the weight is well distributed throughout the bat so it is not end loaded
Cons: Nothing
Pros: Good bat overall, good pop but stings a bit, sometimes.
Cons: After about a year lost alot of pop.
Pros: great pop. big sweet spot. feels great. my 10 yr old loves it!! hit his 1st homerun and overall better harder basehits. he has changed nothing about his swing and is crushing the ball!
Cons: none yet
Pros: My son wanted a big barrel bat for 10u and his coach recommended this bat. It is hot out of the wrapper and has lots of pop. There is little to no vibration. This bat is amazing!
Cons: None
Pros: great pop, looks great, son played GMB world series with it and hit 4 home runs and 8 triples. thats enough said!!!!!
Cons: none
Pros: Very good bat
Cons: Vibrating is a tiny thing
Pros: good pop, distinct sound, little vibration, balanced swing weight
Cons: none so far due to my son still getting used to a bigger heavier bat
Pros: good pop and balanced! the ball jumps off this bat!
Cons: non yet
Pros: My son love this bat. First time up to bat and first pitch was a home run in the winter indoor baseball league.
Cons: None to date.
Pros: Good priced bat and feels great in my sons hands. Seems well balanced for his swing and has great sound when struck well. We have only had it for about a month and only hit batting practice with it 8 times or so. When we use it more I can give more detail about it.
Cons: None yet.
Pros: This is our third cat7 for my son. He consistently hits it farther the any other bat including more expensive two piece bats. The pop this bat has in incredible.
Cons: None
Pros: He wanted a cat 7 and all I could find new was the senior league. He said he didn’t care he wanted it and first at bat hits a dinger.
Cons: Non
Pros: Same Pop when getting the ball barreled up. Same sound and feel as the Junior league bats that he really loved. He likes this batter better than his 2018 Rawlings Velo, but I think this is just because almost everyone on his team swings a version of the CAT bat. Only complaints of vibration are when he caps a pitch and even then it is not bad.
Cons: Not as forgiving as the Junior league version. Barrel taper begins sooner on the Senior league bat and that has taken him some getting use to.
Pros: My kid loves this bat
Cons: Wish they had it in a USA model
Pros: great balance; little vibration; good overall pop (sweetspot) my 10 and 9 year-old boys have enjoyed it; only had it a month
Cons: none so far
Pros: So far so good! Has used it in a couple of games and the pop of the ball off the bat was amazing!
Cons: I don't have any negatives.
Pros: Ball explodes off the barrel!
Cons: none
Pros: First hit was a bomb. Now all the kids on the team use the bat. It is affectionally called "The Ruch." It certainly is getting a workout
Cons: none so far
Pros: Balance
Cons: Complaints of vibration when hit on end cap; not too harsh though.
Pros: Great feel and pop.
Cons: None
Pros: Great feel, low vibration and decent pop
Cons: Has a dent after 100ish hits
Pros: Lots of pop, could tell right away. My son is not the biggest kid and he was definitely hitting it farther with this bat than the Easton he had before. Very little vibration, just loves the way the bat feels in his hand.
Cons: None that I know of. Hard to judge durability after a month of use. Bought this bat after cracking the endcap off another bat (different brand) early in the season.
Pros: Much less vibration. Large sweet spot as you would expect. Great pop, sounds like aluminum which may not be preferred but my kid loves the bat
Cons: Maybe not as much pop as the Mako but considering this is an old model and is 2 3/4 inch, this is probably the best value for under $180. The Cat8 has a different casing and the "ping" is not as loud but I don't know that I would recommend spending the extra $150-200 for it.
Pros: My 9 year old son loved the bat. The ball was jumping off the bat which led to one hoppers to the fence in a Little League baseball field. In addition there was almost no vibration .
Cons: Unfortunately after using for the third time the end cap busted. Obviously my son was really disappointed given how much fun he was having swinging the bat.
Pros: My son told me the bat has more pop to it. He is really enjoying the bat.
Cons: No cons yet.
Pros: Everything
Cons: None yet
Pros: None
Cons: Bat and replacement has dented twice in less that a month of use. Terrible quality.
Pros: Bought this bat for my 10yr old. First game he hit one over the fence in right center. Lots of pop for the money. He loves it.
Cons: None yet
Pros: Tons of pop out of the box. Love the sound it makes when my boy gets ahold of one
Cons: No cons as of yet
Pros: Bought last years model for a great price. First at bat second pitch my 10 year old hit one over the 210ft fence. The sound was amazing.
Cons: None yet
Pros: Bat was delivered 1 day before a big tournament. Big pop right out of the wrapper. Best tournament of my son’s career - which I know is not just because of the bat - but the extra base hits and home runs were plentiful. He loves it.
Cons: None
Pros: No vibration.
Cons: Not the pop we expected. Seems to have a variable sweet spot. Disappointed. The rating on durability is NA as we just purchased. Wasn't worth the $$ even at the discounted price. If something changes and it was just a bad day, I will post another review to reflect any additional pros.
Pros: Too bad i cant post a video from my son about his bat??telling everybody how much he loves it
Cons: Too bad i cant post a video from my son about his bat??telling everybody how much he loves it
Pros: Bought for 11 year old son. Has a great sound and feel.
Cons: None yet.
Pros: Pop Sound is sweet No vibration
Cons: None
