Pros: This bat compared to last years model seems as though if the sweet spot has increased! Pop is still comparable to last years, though vibration has been minimized due to the new end cap.

Plenty to like about this Bat Nicolas player

Pros: Nicely balanced, plenty of pop straight out of the wrapper. Perfect for my first year of BBCOR. Paint holding up well as it needed to be durable with the team using it. Love the grip & knob. Solid feel that comes with alloy.

Cons: Pro or Con - Plenty of sting if you miss the sweetspot. I dont mind this as it soon makes you focus on each swing being pure! If you dont like feedback from alloy bats, suggest go composite.

Voodoo One Nick L Player

Pros: Big sweet spot, feels good in your hands. Very balanced piece, vibration does sting

Cons: The paint chips very easily on the barrel, the grip needs to be replaced about 5-6 months after buying. Yesterday at practice i had a miss-hit on the end of the barrel and the end cap completely broke off, durability it terrible.

Questions and Answers (22)

Have a question about the DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is the difference in the Voodoo ONE and regular Voodoo? Also, what is difference in last season's 2017 compared to 2018?
terri
The main difference between the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC and the Voodoo is the construction. The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC will feature a one-piece all alloy construction with a balanced swing weight while the Voodoo will have a hybrid design with an alloy barrel and composite handle and also featuring the same balanced swing weight design. DeMarini has made some changes from 2017 to 2018, with the main ones being the end cap and connection point (if comparing the connection point technology from 2017 to 2018 with the Voodoo). The alloy material has remained the same from 2017 to 2018 with the use of X14 alloy.
Cameron
Does this bat feel more balanced than the one piece balanced version? The two piece still feels a bit end loaded.
carter
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC features a one piece balanced design.
Carter
Is this bat Little League approved? Is it approved for high school?
Michael Healy
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC is approved for high school but would only be approved for the Senior Division within Little League.
Cameron
My son is 14, 5-11, 150lbs. His last bat was a 2016 DeMarini Voodoo Raw drop 5 - loved it. Which DeMarini BBCOR bat would you recommend with comparable swing weight/construction?
david
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVBC will be very similar to the DeMarini Voodoo Raw. Both feature two-piece hybrid designs with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Voodoo is essentially the 2018 version of the Raw and has added a new 3Fusion End Cap to improve durability and a 3Fusion Handle Technology helps reduce sting vibration.
Dan
I'm 6"1 and 190 pounds. What size do you think I should get?
michael b
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend using a 33" DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXVOC).
JP
My son is 5'5" tall, 130 lbs. What size would you recommend? This will be his first year in modified school ball.
Pfed
We would recommend a 31" or 32" for his height and weight.
Kyle J.
Would this be the balanced version of the voodoo?
Joe
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC is the fully one-piece alloy bat. It is balanced. The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVBC is a two-piece hybrid and is also balanced. The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC is the two-piece hybrid that is end loaded.
Tori
We need a bat with the USA stamp on it to make it legal now. Where do we find this same bat with the USA stamp on it?
ken
BBCOR bats such as this one are allowed in most middle school age groups for Little League. We also have the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA (WTDXUO2) available that has the stamp. Look for "USA" in the title of bats that have that stamp on them.
Kyle J.
Looking to replace a Demarini 2016 Vexxum. How does the balance of this bat compare to the Vexxum?
phil
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXVOC) is a one-piece alloy and will be very similar to the Vexxum.
Damon
(1) Does the Voodoo One have the same barrel length as the Voodoo Balanced? (2) When will the 2019 Demarini Voodoo One be released? (3) What color pattern will it have?
USC Baseball
(1) The barrel lengths on this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXVOC) and the Voodoo Balanced will be the same by my estimation. Some might say the Voodoo Balanced has a slight advantage. (2) Sadly, I do not have a date for the release of the 2019 Voodoos. It will most likely be mid-to-end summer time. (3) I do not know the color pattern of the 2019 Voodoo bats.
Ben
Voodoo One vs CF Zen vs Insane? I am in middle school ,headed to BBCOR ,which do you prefer?
coopdog
I would recommend going with the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC. The transition from middle school to high school would be tough to handle the end load of the Insane.
Max
Currently I am swinging a 34'' 31oz 2017 Rawlings Quatro. I like how it feels but it just doesn't feel like I'm getting power. I'm 6"6 220 lbs and i am looking for a more power oriented bat. Would you recommend this? Any other options you could think of would be greatly appreciated.
aaron
I would take a look at the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC, because of the one piece alloy it could provide a bit more performance and a more stiff feel. With your size a one piece alloy could create more power and stiff contact, which is typically what a bigger player would enjoy. I would also take a look at the CF Insane, because the End load model could also benefit you.
Max
Is the Voodoo one BBCOR bat a balanced bat or slightly end loaded?
Ron
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC will have a balanced swing weight.
Tyler
I have the black and white voodoo overlord. Which model wood bat would be closest to the feel of the overlord?
Big Dawg
In my opinion, the DeMarini Overlord would be closet to the Old Hickory Bat Co. Mike Trout Maple Wood Baseball Bat: MT27M Adult.
Max
How does this bat compare to the VELO?
Shelley
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC is a one-piece fully alloy bat. The 2018 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB8V3 is a one-piece hybrid bat meaning that it has an alloy barrel and composite handle.
Tori
Which has a larger sweet spot, the Beast X Speed or the Voodoo One?
B
The sweet spot looks roughly the same size when comparing these two models side by side.
Kyle J.
Which do you recommend for a contact hitter, the DeMarini Voodoo One or the Beast X Speed?
B
Both models should suit a contact hitter well, since they are balanced bats. If I had to choose I would lean a bit more towards the Easton Beast X Speed, since it is designed to help with bat speed.
Kyle J.
What size should I get? I am 6ft and 180 lbs.
Roli
I would recommend going with a 33'' 30 oz in the DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC based upon your height and weight.
Max
When will you guys have it In a 33 inch 30 ounce?
clifton orr
Unfortunately, the DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC is a 2018 bat, so we won't be restocking that bat in any sizes.
Logan
Does DeMarini have an end loaded bat? My son has a 2017 BBCOR that is end loaded and loves it. Looking for a replacement.
Craig Perry
The DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC will be balanced. If seeking an end-loaded BBCOR from DeMarini, you would want to consider the DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC19. An end-loaded bat from DeMarini will say "Insane" in the product heading.
Cameron
Is there a difference between the VOC and VBC when it comes to (1) performance and (2) durability? Will you get the same sound from the VBC as the VOC since the barrel is alloy on both?
Andre
There will not be a performance difference when it comes to the DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC and the DeMarini Voodoo Balanced BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVBC19. The Voodoo, with its two-piece design, will feel different on contact due to the additional flex. This helps reduce vibration more so than what the Voodoo ONE will offer on a similar miss hit. Durability wise, the Voodoo ONE, since it does not have a connection point, may have slightly better marks as a two-piece bat always has the chance of breaking down at the connection point. Sound will be similar but since one is a two-piece bat (Voodoo) we would expect some slight differences here.
Cameron
What is the difference between the 2018 and 2019 version of this bat?
Rich
Other than a different grip and updated cosmetic design, the DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXVOC) and DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXVOC19) will be very similar structurally.
Taylor

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
